We will miss you working in a muddy river! This pullout seems too easy. But I hope this will be a reasonable winter restoration. Yes, looking forward to a will it start. Thx for bringing us along. 😊😊😊 John Ken
Another vdub saved!! That'll be a nice "winter project." For anyone but you, that would be a decade-long project. I've got faith in you. We're ready for the ride-along.
Thank you for saving another Volkswagen and encouraging us to keep pushing. As for the floor mat, leave it in place and liberally apply Aerospace 303. Then let it sit a day or two, then get something underneath as taking it up so supported, flip over, and treat the underside. Hope this helps. Cheers, Adriel
Another very rusty and crusty bus! This one is going to be a challenge to bring back to life. I still really enjoy these videos. Thanks for another great video!!!
This was a cakewalk compared to the NH Buses! The cab is amazing on it. The small container is a bulb/fuse kit. When you went to the dealer back in the day for a couple bucks you could buy one of these. It should have one of each bulb in it and a few fuses. The older ones were black and the 60's ones were blue. The frame is pretty roached but anything can be fixed and it's still holding up, so there's that. Very nice find, I'd love an old Single Cab!
The the spirits were on your side of this one . Love the video wish you all the luck with lucky it looks like you have got a lot of work ahead of you. Have a great weekend ,see you in the next installment of Jason’s adventures !
Round tube trans hanger, that is a wolfsburg build. Nice! That little container you found under the dash is a spare parts holder, usually for bulbs, fuses, points, etc.
@@VWNate1 Before the Hanover plant was built, all VW's were built in Wolfsburg. I don't recall the exact date of change, but many type 2's were built there both during and after the barndoor era. What a nice truck. This one deserves to be rescued and rebuilt. I like the split-window VW buses very much and I'm impressed how much are left (in whatever condition) around the U.S. Here in Germany it's hard to find them. And when you see one, it's in perfect shape and cost a fortune... Many thanks for sharing your passion!!!
Another project to look forward to, when I left school and worked in house renovation the old fella who taught me my trade would walk around an old house and say "Pick that up, that will come in handy even if we never use it !!!!, and that reminds me of you
Easy Peasy!!!! What no traveling way back through the woods? No chainsawing trees, no Kabota? Wow your gettin soft Jayson, and a hair cut and clean shaven to boot! All jokes aside this was a nice rescue for a change, cant wait to see you crank up that motor! I have to say there is nothing more exciting then when you post a new video! Thank you so much for doing what you do,!
What a score !!! I don't know when this video was originally posted , it just came across my feed . But anyways Wow , you do have some ... work to do . This reminds me of my 15W 59 that was parked next to a creek full .of home made yarn . It took me six hours to get out of there , had to stop by a local gas station to buzz off one of the wheels . I bugged bombed the inside three times it was full of ant and wasp nests . Loved my 59 15W !! Good Luck !!!!
A new chassis is a good place to start, that thing is 'toast' like the mirror! I think it is well named as Lucky, for the most part the body looks good. You would expect the bed to have a few holes as it was probably a working truck. I think the roof will pull out if you are careful Jason. We will wait for a 'will it run' video on the engine as it might not need much work. Great find Jason and thank you for taking us along and BTW I was shouting at the screen to REMOVE THE CAMERA. 📸 👍👍
@@stephenricketts7764 good point... and we'll see. As for restoration, that is not what this channel focuses on. Seems more like rescue adventures is his thing.
Again, Nice work! Your recent videos have got me looking for a split bus project now haha. I just have to get my wife's approval first! I already have a beetle among other projects, so it going to be difficult sell haha.
Hilarious. Best condition VW he's touched for a while, now designated "winter project", just a light renovation... first thing he does is smash the front windows in...mate, you give me the biggest smiles per episode 😂
Congrats on getting this one. You earned a somewhat easy recovery after everything you went through with the buses. The jack and rake are certainly flashbacks of your last recovery. I gotta be honest, I kept looking in the house windows expecting to see a spirit LOL... This would look so cool all restored and painted the blue and white. Yeah it needs a lot of work, but after seeing the last two that you rescued, this one looks surprisingly good. I'm lookin forward to seeing videos of this one over the winter.
Compared to your last adventure getting busses out of the Vermont triangle, this half cab dang near ran itself onto the trailer. Great save J. I really like this one and enjoyed seeing her going to a good home. Thanks J!!
Maybe the neighbor will turn on his garden hose and start a new muddy river. So you feel at home more... Sorry I shouldn't say that. Great score, this is gonna be cool !!
That thing's awesome! You and Musty1 can go cruising together. I almost didn't recognize you since you weren't up to your knees in mud and water, are you on vacation? Lol, love your videos!
Next time when your loading like that at an angle, get the front wheels up on the trailer, drive your truck forward and the vehicle will follow behind you and straighten itself out, make it easier for you. Hope that helps. Glad to see another single cab saved
I really enjoy your videos and apologize if I’ve missed this in previous ones. Are you recovering for parts only? Where do you store all of these and what ends up happening to all of your vehicles? Do you flip some? I just watched your entertaining and interesting video on the recent two busses you rescued. Where do you keep those? Thanks for the videos and keep them coming. Blessings…
thank you for the kind words 5607....I have many, many , many cars in storage. I have the buses in a stream , 15w is still on the trailer. I have watched you dig out countless VW's in harsh conditions. I have one suggestion for you. When I was off road racing we would have jacks on the race truck. We removed the wheels and welded steel plates to the bottom of the jacks. Basically like a sled is how the jacks looked. In sand, mud, soft ground the jacks always worked great and no need for boards, etc. Just some food for thought... Mike
This was really good going Jason getting it out and on the trailer it certainly needs some work on the frame but I have faith that you can restore it as always best regards I will be watching for the next episode Andy Allen
I had a type 2 deluxe for 22 years. Bought it when I got out of the Air Force and loaded everything I owned in it and drove it to California from Pennsylvania. Went through 5 engines and one transmission when I owned it. Finally gave it up in 1990 and bought a euro van and drove it for another 10 years.
