Think I paid 400 for one of these many decades ago now. It was a blast, not a hot rod but fun. Side note: the guy taught me a trick on how to clean this (white) low mileage vehicle that had all the same type of stuff this one does on it (or more) & while it does strip all the wax off, it definitely makes quick work of cleaning it... ( detailer's don't fillet me ;) ). You have to do this with a garden hose & a bucket or two. You'll need a wash cloth, running hose water (no sprayer needed) & the key is it must not dry on the vehicle. The top secret ingredient to this is yes, you guessed it: Comet. Dump it on as you see fit onto the wash cloth * onto a wet vehicle and simply wipe. One bucket is for the wash cloth rinsing. One bucket to dump onto vehicle after wiping. NOTE: I have only tried this on a white vehicle. I have no Idea how & if this would work on any other color. Then after you've dried it, (provided it's not rusty) polish, wax, & treat accordingly :) Great score !
I really enjoyed watching this episode because I owned a '74 celica Gt, 5spd and a/c for 6 years while living in San Antonio. . Was one of my best care free and fun cars to drive ever. The owners manual stated that cruising speed was 90. That was no lie. Thanks for getting this one running. Sweet!
When released In Australia in 1972 the five speed was pretty unique. As I recall, they came initially with a 1600cc engine, which over the years with new (and bigger) models grew to 2,000 or maybe 2,200cc. These first generation models, like in this vid, are becoming very expensive here - if you can find one!.

Also just found a kubota tutorial from some years ago on running a b7500
Very helpful- Thanks
You seem to be able to get nearly everything to run Chris. Congrats on the great content.
In 1976 I purchased a "back row special" 1972 Celica Gt, 4 speed from an Oldsmobile dealership. Probably the Best used car purchase I ever made! A battery, one tire and a windshield and I drove it for Many Miles. Replaced it with a 1977 Celica Gt Liftback that I drove for a bunch of miles.... LOVE TOYOTAS.
The parts are worth more than $300. You never let a basket case scare you off from the reality of investment cost and profit. Good job!
I am impressed with this guy Chris as a mechanic..he really knows what he is doing about cars👍wish he lives around nearby me and have him work on my classic car.keep wrenching Chris..you are awesome.
Yes to saving that Buick Riviera!
My sister, Terry, had one of these. We cruised almost every road in Florida back in the mid 70's with it. Great little car it was.
Would love to see you get that Riveria going! As my grandpa always say it was his poor man’s Cadillac!
Super Video Chris as always. So interesting. I am amazed how you get these old engines started. Hope Jen and baby are doing well. Miss seeing her on the channel.
we address this video as hitting the house for the first time after 15 years this is unique video😄👍
Chris, you are amazing. Just a "get it done" sort of guy and truly no nonsense. I would enjoy having you as my neighbor any day.
I drove a 1986 S-10 2.8 4X4 for 17 years every day driver. because of its size made it even better!
I could get in and out where others couldnt!
@@jwfinley7808 That's why I still daily my 99 4.3 S10. Over 300K on the original motor and trans.
@aquaseafoamcrayon1739 I bought mine with 175.000 on it. when I donated it 279.000 and it still ran!
just change oil. I did always!!
Chris, the engine whisperer! I love how considered you are about people and the environment around you. It's shame that I can't get your merch here in Brazil. Love your channels. 😁😁😁😁
Then after you've dried it, (provided it's not rusty) polish, wax, & treat accordingly :)
Great score !
Sweet!
Here in England my mother had one of these long ago , very rare now , definitely needs saving
LOVE IT! My first car was a 1974 Celica GT. This brings back awesome memories. Had to double take to make sure this one wasn't the one that I owned. Cheers and thanks for sharing.
Always a good day when nnkh uploads this one’s gonna be super cool ! Keep up the good work 👍
Enjoy all you shows and especially the work you do with the drone footage really appreciate the views
What Cairns are complaining about will it runs now your channel do whatever you want to do I'm still here no matter what type of content is
Me too. After awhile people complain about anything...
Some gems on that property. I personally love the will it run stuff. Great to see things come back from the grave. The oddest cars/ parts bring the cash and keep others projects going . Great stuff .
8:10 kevin from junkyard digs probably wants that 401
I loved the sound of that engine. Thank you much
Old Celica....love it. Great video Chris
fun to be able to watch you work on these Will It Run cars...hope you grab that Riviera!...or even that little Caddy...best to you, Jen, and the papooshka...
This guy films as good as he wrenches
Hey Chris, you've hit a jackpot. Celicas from the 70s are very sought after by classic car collectors. Lots of valuable parts. Love the channel.
Greetings from Sydney NSW: Don't scratch the paint, mate.
Man there are so much cars I wanna try to start here for my pleasure, you made me rebuild and restart my own first car that I drive everyday now, big up on you dude, keep up the great content
This guy is way too skilled and knowledgeable to be just making a few hundred bucks for his time.
Chris is love the fact that all yoir videos are 100% real. You can tell the cars been sitting a long time. You clean them out and then get them running. Another fantastic video chris 🫡
Great Video's btw! Interesting to watch you explore and the drone footage is awesome! Cool to see some big city stuff from a different perspective.
Watching you from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
God bless you !
I love 18, 20 and 22r engines.
They'll never die !
Thay riviera is awesome. Such a cool looking car
Very few guys out there working as hard as you do creating great content. Keep doing what you're doing. 630k subs and counting. And I'm in Wilmington, DE so it's always great to see a Philly guy doing good!!
Would love to see the Riviera on the channel
My Daily driver was a 1977 hatchback/fastback Looked like a mini-mustang. It also had a white interior. It too was a 5 speed. Mags and Pirellis. LOVED that car!
sarahintuned would be crying right now, she's been working on a 74 Celica r34 for along time, strip the bumpers, badges, trims and rain rails.
That flatbed with the sleeper would be epic for cross country race car hauling!
