    I am forever grateful for this video! I called myself being a DIY'r because I have done wiring installs for hitches working at UHaul. So I haven't had a CD player working in my 05 Camry for quite some time and it's BORINGGG listening to the plain ol radio. So I ordered fr Crutchfield the wiring hardness and dash kit comes free. But because I'm one-and-done type chick I opted for the steering wheel adapter because I knew I'd likely HATE losing that feature. I was disappointed when I opened my stuff bcuz I thought it was like plug and play or quick connect and seeing so many wires thew me off. Watching this video completely eased my mind as I am a visual learner vs written instruction. Thank you for simplifying a task that could have easily gone wrong!! I'm going to go back at it tomorrow and do this prep work to make for an easy install. Thanks again!! :)

    I just bought a Pioneer AVH-x7700BT and i had no prior knowledge in car stereos and i had a hard time trying to find someone decent instructions to understand the wiring and this is the easiest video to follow and helped me grasp the concept of the wiring i just installed it on my 97 civic si thanks this video i was able to complete it without spending and extra 2 to 300 dollars to get it installed elsewhere.

    Also, I was wondering how long have metraonline been around. I already found the car model and make, and the adapter kits that are available. But the radio size, still need to work out. I learned this by watching and reading from a book. Learning it here is pretty neat. I'm beginning to memorize all the wires and the connections to it. Plus reading books too. Andrew Yoder, Mark Rumreich, all are great authors of the topic.

    Casio watches is pretty nice. G-shock watches are also nice. It depends on which you prefer. In high school, I just used the regular Casio digital watches they sold at Longs Drugs store on the shelves. It was about $34.00 if it wasn't on sale. I think it is on sale now, so you can buy it for $24.95 cheaper. It is pretty good and nice to use at work.

    1. Does the orange illumination wire from car wiring splice with aftermarket stereo's dimmer orange/white wire?
    2. The wiring harness from my aftermarket stereo has a REVERSE-REAR SIGNAL INPUT wire that has no corresponding wire to splice with. What does that splice with?

    On another video also, you were showing the fans or electronics enthusiast how to connect a reverse green wire and add a back up camera to a car. Can you tell me what polarity should the green or back up lights from the back of the car be? (-1) or (+1) I didn't get what machine you were using. Not sure if it was a multimeter. I have a multimeter too. Use it to check voltages around the house. If this was your video too.

    I'm learning this too as I go along with the video and the book. Are you guys familiar with Kirchhoff's first law of current and second law of voltage? I could see if the DC circuit was in a series or parallel configuration. Is it so, that all wires receive 12 volts across the wiring? If so, the amps can be figured out by knowing the resistance or ohms on every wiring or component? I'm into the electrical technical part. There was a green wire too across the SWI module. Where does this part go? Is there a green wire near the ignition or near the other wires that feeds to the module? Not sure where this is at yet.

    I noticed he used a transformer step down. This is probably off the solenoid. Of which is measured up to 22,000 volts. Is this pioneer radio/stereo the same specifications as the others on the market? The blue and Red connected were 12 volts each. The breakover voltage or minimum current needed to amplify a signal at ground, is 0.6 Volts coming off the red and blue wire I am presuming. How many volts or amps is going through the step down transformer? larger black cable connecting to the back of the stereo/radio single din.

  • @krypton25b62
    @krypton25b62 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    One other note, since this is an older car, but very much a desirable car, from what I am reading. Super hot. Anyway, how long would it take a average person who just want to install it himself or herself to complete a task? For him it was, 30 minutes, then wait 1 week or so, to begin the breakdown of the dashboard and put in the new din with the dash kit. Which would be another 2 hours. So I am counting 2 and 1/2 hours to complete the replacement, but wait one week. Is this the case?

    First off, great video sir! Really appreciate your comprehensiveness! I recently purchased an identical radio (coincidentally) for my 2000 Grand Marquis. I was curious about what you did with your ground wires. Some sites/instructions/videos I have seen, they drill holes to the chassis, then attach that wire as a ground. However, you just wrapped up all your grounds in a crimp cap. What is the difference, and do you know if I would be able to get away with your method in my situation? Much much easier than drilling holes and trying to attach my ground to my chassis! Thank you!

    so I installed a CD player in my friend's car. he don't have a amp or subs. but after about 15-25min his CD player cuts of. and he has to turn the car off then back on to get it working again. I THINK he also said it does it only when the volume is around 30-40.. he thinks a wire is loose or I hooked it up wrong. and I think it's the CD player that it's just defective. have u heard or had this problem b4. please give me feedback asap

    I have 8 speakers wires from after market stereo but my nissan wiring harness has only 4 wires. I have 4 speakers. I have the wiring harness adapter which has 6 wires but of course 2 of them dont connect since the wiring harness only has four wires. I guess you have to cross connect some of the wires. Any links to how this would be wired?

    one small issue... on my radio that I'm installing into a Rav4, the 3.5mm output is for the microphone, is that what we're supposed to plug it into?

    Hi. Thank you for the great video. I also done with that way but I just skipped the steering wheel control part cause in my stereo there’s no any jack and I don’t know where to wire that 3.5mm jack or other wire. So what should I do in that case? Thank you again

    I bought a 06 expedition with a pioneer AVIC-D2 previously installed. Like a 2005 model, it has a few problems, nothing I can't live with except the following: 1. No steering wheel controls functioning. 2. No rear radio controls with headphone jacks, not functioning. The stock radio was a dual media CD, no navigation unit
    Question: How can I get these items working again? Thanks, Gordon
