@marenothecarguy8361 I did most of my throttle body cleaning, but I'm going to take it off completely to clean it fully. My fresh air intake line had oil in it and I'm sure my pcv lines have oil also I need to clean out with brakleen. Our cts is the base model with the 3.6 rear wheel drive and it has about 376,000 miles on it. We got it from my mother in law when she retired she bought herself a Subaru Forrester
dig your content! my 2012 idles little jerky? i replaced spark plugs and 2 coils and its not misfiring anymore but idles little rough and engine lil shifty put in drive??
No need to do a relearn. That’s a big false belief out there. Someone heard someone say that a while back and then others began repeating that same false statement.
I’ve heard that but never had a issue from cleaning throttle bodies this exact same way. I’ve used this method on all of my current and past cars that has included three CTS’s, three G8’s, Honda Odyssey, Chevy Tahoe, two Corvettes, jetta, Dodge Ram, Denali, Jeep Wrangler, X6, and more. So there may be some validity to that statement but 30 years and countless cars later, I have never had an issue cleaning my throttle bodies this exact same way.
@ did it help improve ur gas miles? i get 280 to a full tank. (if that) i have a 2013 cadillac cts. i use to get 400 to a full tank when i first got it back in 2016. but noticed after taking it to transmission of america my gas miles dropped tremendously
All 3.6 Engines in the CTS's between 2008-2014 are not transferrable. I don't recall the years that are different but you need to be sure what year versions are compatible with your year.
Gonna do this now, thankyou bro saved 200-300$ from a shop. Beautiful coupe man.
Glad I could help

Thank you for the video you saved us money.
Glad I could help
do you have to relearn the throttle body afterwards

How many miles did that your throttle body have before its last clean?
I thought you weren’t supposed to move that butterfly inside of the throttle body manually with your hand?

I don’t think mileage improvements were significant, if there were any. It mainly helped to smooth out the idling.
Will a ultrasonic sink work also?
Could this cause a check engine light to come on
No it wouldn’t.
About how many miles is the vehicle at? I believe I’m gonna have to clean mine
I am at 150K miles
Can I put a 2014 , 3.6 cts motor in a 2008 CTS that has a bad 3.6.

Awesome thanks
I’m glad it helped.
