This is one of the best DIY videos- and not just car repairs- I've ever seen on the internet. Excellent video quality and instructions. Probably just save me about $150. Thanks!
Coming from someone who only knows how to change air filters and rotate tires, this video was great! I have a 2018 hyundai sonata that had jumping rpms, sometimes a long start then just started to stall while in park. After doing some research I found your video. It was extremely easy to do and saved me 100s of dollars!!! I spent about 18 on the cleaner and 18 on the torque wrench, and my car runs great!!!! Took me about 45 mins from start to finish. But now that I know how to do it could probably only take 20-30 next time. Thank you for this video it helped so much!!! To anyone who's skeptical. You can do it!!! Just follow his video step by step!!!🎉🎉
Really appreciate you taking the time to leave your experience on doing this service on your own car. Good to hear you were able to do this yourself. Have a wonderful week!
Dude was right on the money, from start to finish, awesome video I performed a cleaning yesterday, following the video exactly including the relearning process Runs fantastic btw 2015 with 105k miles
Lol when he started it, I was like oh yeah 😏 that’s an Elantra, that’s exactly how mine sound when I start it! Lol it’s such a powerful start for a small car 😂😂
@@style.session.saturday.9488 real and i love it. Love how its raw on started up and insanely chill when driving it. When you full trottle, its actually pretty quick.
I've got 160k miles on my car, and our pcv systems dirty our intakes bad if you don't have a oil catch can. going to be doing this for sure. great vid.
As he said in the video, just push the ignition start button twice, leave it like that for 10 seconds and then turn off. After that wait 10 seconds and start the car
Hello, I have an Elantra like this and was told that my Idle Air Control System RPM was lower than expected and to replace the Idle air control valve. My car stalls on red lights, should I do this?
EXCELLENT VIDEO. REMOVING THE THROTTLE BODY WAS UNNECESSARY AS I SEE IT. IT WAS CLEAN AS A WHISTLE AFTER CLEANING IT WITH THROTTLE BODY CLEANER. ONCE MORE MY ELANTRA HAS A RUBBER O RING ON THE BACK OF THE THROTTLE BODY. I CHOSE NOT TO OPEN A CAN OF WORMS. DECIDE FOR YOURSELFS.
Amazing video. Thanks for giving us good angles and a clear step-by-step as well as explaining the reason for each step. I was going to take my car to a shop but I'm pretty confident I can do this despite my track record of causing bigger problems every time I attempt simple automotive maintenance 🥴
Great concise video. I would use a 1/4" torque wrench for the bolts since low settings on 3/8" wrenches are usually not very accurate. That would be 70 to 104 inch lbs.
Hello, a very interesting video. I can apply this procedure to a 2017 Hyundai Elantra. I am referring especially to programming the opening of the throttle body that you do at the end of the video. greetings
Do you have to remove it to clean? My car is delaying to start i serviced and changed everything including the sparkplugs and still does it.. maybe oil pressure? Idk what to do
For the reset.....Turn key for 10 seconds, wait 10 seconds, then start the car. Do you have to start it after 10 seconds to make it work, or can you come back later and start the car?
Thank you buddy for this video, just want to clarify which press should I do during the reset of idle? I didnt see anything you press while resetting the idle
I followed all steps for some reason the p0106 code came up. Never touch the map sensor. I was assuming it was reusing the seal but everything was clean and torque down. I erased it twice so far hasn't come back. Still order the seal just in case.
CAN you do a video on this vehicle on how to perform a valve intake cleaning using CRC intake valve GDI cleaner spray.? and best place to access the valves via vacuum hose, or intake manifold? I have 2016 Santa Fe Sport 2.4L.
Where do you find these data to which you are referring? Torque values, if the gasket needs replacing, how to reprogram the throttle body. Since you are only referring to an Elantra, but you are advertising that the a number of other vehicles can be serviced the same way, there should be data or links to data for these other models. Thanks. And could you please answer the questions in the comments? That would also be a big help.
Error codes I received where indicating a problem with either throttle body or accelerator pedal, after replacing both. Found the issue to be liquid getting into ECU and shorting out. Creating check engine light codes and limp mode. I recommend checking ECU first. Prior changing out throttle body. Might suve you hundreds $$$.
if you are in the US, you can take it to an auto parts store and they can do a free scan and tell you the trouble code so you know exactly what the computer is complaining. You can also try disconnecting your car battery for an hour and reconnecting it and see that clears the code.
Thanks, great video. I was wondering why when my car idles it sometimes stalls. It seems to idle around 800 rpm. One other video stated that when driving the rpms jumps almost like the transmission is slipping and cleaningbthe throttle body fixes that too. Your thoughts on that?
Dirty throttle plate usually causes issues during idle, not when driving. If it's a transmission issue, you will feel the slow shift or hard shift while driving.
I am not 100% sure, but it appears the new design of the 2015 Sonata carried over the same 2.4L engine from previous gen. So this procedure should apply.
@@dial2fast okay man. I really appreciate you're rapid response. If the relearn fails, do you think it'd be safe enough to drive for a little while, to get to a mechanic?
You should first try to google the idle relearn procedure for your car. There may be info on the net that can help. Some newer vehicles can have the relearn done with a OBD scan tool. So yes, a proper mechanic can do that.
Man, can't find anything on the web that exactly tells me how to do the relearn. Your video is the closest/best thing.
