    Coming from someone who only knows how to change air filters and rotate tires, this video was great! I have a 2018 hyundai sonata that had jumping rpms, sometimes a long start then just started to stall while in park. After doing some research I found your video. It was extremely easy to do and saved me 100s of dollars!!! I spent about 18 on the cleaner and 18 on the torque wrench, and my car runs great!!!! Took me about 45 mins from start to finish. But now that I know how to do it could probably only take 20-30 next time. Thank you for this video it helped so much!!!
    To anyone who's skeptical. You can do it!!! Just follow his video step by step!!!🎉🎉

      @TheSokodelic ปีที่แล้ว

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You should first try to google the idle relearn procedure for your car. There may be info on the net that can help. Some newer vehicles can have the relearn done with a OBD scan tool. So yes, a proper mechanic can do that.

    • @TheSokodelic

      Man, can't find anything on the web that exactly tells me how to do the relearn. Your video is the closest/best thing.

    Where do you find these data to which you are referring? Torque values, if the gasket needs replacing, how to reprogram the throttle body. Since you are only referring to an Elantra, but you are advertising that the a number of other vehicles can be serviced the same way, there should be data or links to data for these other models. Thanks. And could you please answer the questions in the comments? That would also be a big help.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jeremiahmlc8523 If you are not experienced with working on cars, there is the problem of not knowing how tight a bolt should be. You can overtighten or under-tighten the bolt. With this job, you can give it a try, but if you think you will be servicing your own car for a long time, then invest in some tools. Also tools have gotten really affordable in the past 15 years with more manufacturers from China. I still remember buying a torque wrench for $200 many years ago. Now you can get one on Amazon for $40.

      if you are in the US, you can take it to an auto parts store and they can do a free scan and tell you the trouble code so you know exactly what the computer is complaining. You can also try disconnecting your car battery for an hour and reconnecting it and see that clears the code.

      The idle reset/relearn is only for the idle speed. If you are not having any erratic idle speed when the car is idling, then you are fine. If there is a problem with the idle, you'd definitely notice it as the RPM will surge and drop during idle.

    For the reset.....Turn key for 10 seconds, wait 10 seconds, then start the car. Do you have to start it after 10 seconds to make it work, or can you come back later and start the car?

    Error codes I received where indicating a problem with either throttle body or accelerator pedal, after replacing both. Found the issue to be liquid getting into ECU and shorting out. Creating check engine light codes and limp mode. I recommend checking ECU first. Prior changing out throttle body. Might suve you hundreds $$$.

    Do i need to drain the coolant if im swapping the whole throttle body?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just pinch off the lines and do the swap. The little bit of air that gets in should bleed out through the radiator cap.

    How to reprogram throttle body position on car which have key start not push button start

  • @mr.janjasmin5235
    @mr.janjasmin5235 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You said to do this service every 40 or 50,000 miles. What about if your car has slightly more than 100,000 miles on it? Do you do this sooner?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's never too late to do this service. If you don't think it's been done for a long time, then you can do it now.

    • @mr.janjasmin5235
      @mr.janjasmin5235 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dial2fast Thanks, but that's not what I asked. I had this service done an hour ago, but wanted to know if I should check this sooner than 40,000 or 50,000 miles. Sorry, if my original question was unclear. Hope I rephrased it adequately.

    Mine is jerking at idle when I have the A/C turned on. Is this a throttle body cleaning fix or no?

      Mine is doing the same, did you figure out what it was?

    • @VladimirKolombet
      @VladimirKolombet 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Downfall1984 I tried a lot of things. Eventually someone ended up buying it the way it was. But I'm almost 100% certain at this point that you need to clean your valves. Easy process, you can find many videos on TH-cam how to do it. Just go to autozone, buy a bottle of valve cleaner and I believe you can spray it in your intake or something like that. Like I said, lots of videos showing how to do it

    Great video. Performed this procedure to see if it would cure a strange noise I get when I turn engine off. Cleaned nicely but unfortunately did solve my issue.
    The noise sounds like a pst pst coming from front side of engine toward the battery side.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated. It is a 2013 Elantra Limited with 117k miles.
