I’m just finishing my 6.0 with stage 3 cam, headers, 80# injectors. I’m gonna buy hp tuners next week so I can learn to tune my own engine. I found your channel and I’m watching and learning. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
Ive bamboozled my way into getting my 07 Silverado to start and idle with 1000cc injectors... Now im rewatching all your gen4 and other videos to iron out idle before i start "street tuning".... Which i also have no idea how to do. Might have to take a class.... Well it seems I don't have nearly as many settings in HP tuners as you do. Wonder why
I have it setup with a Mac solenoid and the microsquirt, but haven't gotten into enough boost to test, we will, I have a way smaller pulley to install and want to hold high boost lower but get into boost quicker.
Hello, how do you save your first file (03 yukon with flex fuel 6.0) on HP Tuners if you know you will be running 20 pounds of boost in the near future? When I checked HP Tuners I didn't see an area that would show boost pressure.
Hopefully your about over with your crud! I am going from a stock 87mm throttle body to a ZR1 95mm throttle body. Would it need tuned the same way? My car is set up on a MAF only tune by the remote tuner.
Im not pro but i'd think you'd be good to run 'newest' rom image long as you are making improvements & dont drive it untuned for 3 weeks. Like finish the job or do go back to stock.
Dude, I cannot get the gen 5 I’m working on to stop going into closed loop and using stft corrections when maf tuning. Setup exactly like this, no matter what I try still goes into closed loop and stft corrections. I don’t have money for PATREON until next week so I guess I’ll wait for help. Lol.
Looks good. So question. Found my exhaust leak on the GTO. I cannot fix it without ordering new headers and all. So would it be okay to tune it on the rich side like it is. 1.0 by my wideband and after I get it all done just let the ecm pull the fuel out in closed loop. it will be like .1 to .15 rich at idle? Driving it is dead on so I guess that the pressure from the exhaust is enough to keep air out. So it was just be idle and slightly off idle rich.
@@Dark4Watch I would have it welded. Long story. The "person" that had the car before me decided it would be a good idea to cut the flanges off of the headers and butt weld the entire exhaust. After he got it started he realized that he could not reach the top of the collector because the body is to close. He then proceeded to stop and say oh well and left it. like that. So I am just going to run it like it is for now, because the narrowbands still control it fine. Get new exhaust and start over. FML
I'm trying to figure out what that would do but I'm drawing a blank. I'm trying to relate it to turning the power on something after you've unplugged it in order to burn up any residual electricity stored. Is this kind of the same?
@@donnie1581 no. On the Gen 4 and newer platforms, turning the key off, pulling the key and opening the door ensures all of the computers in the vehicle shut down. Not a big issue on the Gen 3's but it can be an issue on the Gen 4 and Gen 5. CANbus stuff...
Man you go so fast sometimes. What if you don’t have your afr gauge wired for logging? I’m completely new at tuning trying to tune my 05 gto ls2 with a d1 procharger. Cam, afr 210 heads, longtubes, Lsx intake, katech 103 tb I had a tuner come and tune it but the idle fluctuates and he can’t get it right. I’m not gonna pay a bunch of tuners I bought hp tuners and have been watching your videos, but the layout on hp tuners isn’t the same because your truck is a lot newer so some stuff ain’t there. I need help though bro bad
Check my channel I posted a video on how to wire your wide band aem to a serial cable set up for 15$ on Amazon. If you need more help or links for cables feel free to message or comment on my video about it. Not tryin to take from goat rope at all but the vids there..(fairly sloppy video but shows the jist of it)

Would love a video on basic boost tuning, where to start and what to look for all that.
I'm learning a lot from you. My brother and I are putting a gen 3 vortec in a 1970 GMC truck and your videos are helping to understand tuning.
Welcome to the family!
Love it, thanks Kyle
I was like "Dude, did you stop scanning before you shut down?" LOL!
Keep going, any advice for a beginner tunner .
Are you going to be going through the whole tuning process torque fuel and spark?
Yep
Great videos. Im having some issues even getting mine setup to start. Any chance I could contact you with a few question?
Can you explain what you are doing at 4:01? My Silverado is flatlined here.

Why does your commanded EQ change so much? Mine stays at 1.0 until I start driving and get into PE or lean cruise
We're in warm up
Do you run a boost controller? Started looking into a boost controller for my centrifuged and not sure what to get

do I need to update my pcm to properly tune a 1998 vortec 5.7 tuned port injection engine.

Can someone tell me, is MAF tuning the same on an LS engine and say a MAF TBI or MAF Tune Port Injection?
Is this how you would get the car started the first time after adding boost (turbo or supercharger) to a NA car?
Truck I’m working on 4.8L Btr4 throwing a p0106 code and running lean any idea why? I check for vacuum leaks etc already
Hopefully your about over with your crud!

I know maybe dumb question, but do you go back to your most latest tune when you decide to tune more? Or do you go back to the stock tune everytime

Shouldn’t the commanded stay at 1 all the time ? After startup enrich it should go to 1 and stay there right?

Is it ever acceptable to use vcm scanner to command closed loop off? Does it achieve the same thing?

if its a crack Id try and use the quick repair you get from a auto parts store .

Ahhhh... You open the door also after a flash also! I thought I was the only one. People ask why I do that and I hate explaining it. LOL!

Why is your timing negative?
He needs to adjust torque request especially since torque is off in maf mode only
Bingo
So is the spark literally ATDC?
