I was having a bad time tuning my maf with the curve looking more like a mountain range. Turns out throttle body bolt backed off so it was not sealing and was allowing random amounts of air by, throwing everything off.
If I use the stable HPT it loads in about 3 seconds but if I use BETA it takes almost 30 seconds. I just use stable since I'm running a Gen 3 with stock PCM
How do I get rid if the old check engine codes????? I clear them but they say permanent on the scanner the issues have been fixed maf was disconnected once before
Permanents have to be cleared through drive cycles, if it's for a system you removed like the rear O2s, they won't clear, but they also shouldn't set a light.
So If I am doing a bolt ons open loop maf tune i should first tune the maf tables then the timing in the spark then move on torque tuning btw i have chevy caprice 13 should i do a torque tuning or just turn off torque managment since everyone is telling me to turn it off but i think i should tune it so and I will be done?If there is another table I should tune before moving to timing tell me which one and how to log it thank you very much
I know this is a year old, but I have the same car. I just finished DOD/AFM delete. I went with an LS3 cam. To get it running, I disabled DOD and copied the LS3 high and low octane table. I don't need maximum horsepower, just a fun reliable daily driver.
@@GoatRopeGarage I just installed a turbo kit on my gen v l83 brother took it for test drive and floored it after that ring landings cracked.. Truck hit 20 psi and went lean wastegate failed.. Following your videos and learning as I go hopefully motor is up and running soon..
You’re right, I watched enough of your videos and learned a lot about tuning! Thank you for sharing all this knowledge.
Thanks Kyle, you are the only one making this content
Really liking the step by step
Oh man, it's getting fun.
Gives me a good feeling knowing I'm not the only one having to figure out why it broke 😂

Yeah, the MAF curve usually falls in pretty easily. I had a sneaking suspicion mine was too close to the bypass
@@GoatRopeGarage Yeah, once I tightened up that bolt and started again that curve was as smooth as Morgan Freemans voiceover in a documentary.

Same here
What is the clanking noise in the background when you first pull out to go drive?
4 link suspension
Typical when you first start tuning. I disable P0106 on everything I tune that not running the stock engine.
I too would like to know why it is so slow to load now.

Drive it. It MIGHT clear...
@@jaydubb71 it doesn't for 3 months now

Good to hear I'm not the only one who thinks HP Tuners is very slow to read/write
Do you still have stock bottom end ?
Until I launch it out the side
