BB was both well liked and popular. It's success allowed TDK to be made. Also, Batman fans love it because it's such an appropriate origin story and the circumstances of how Bruce becomes Batman are central to his character's personality. TDK is free to explore how his noble vigilantism facilitates the rise of his nemesis only because BB laid such a solid foundation. Comparing with Star Wars, if TDK is TESB then BB is ANH.
I agree with much of your analysis of TDK but disagree with your criticism of MoS because Superman's character does develop over the course of the film and Zod is instrumental in this. Something great about The Dark Knight is that most superhero movie have us assume that just by nature that civilians deserve heroes, and the dark knight makes you think that maybe they don’t, maybe Batman shouldn’t be. Maybe Batman doesn’t have to be. What’s the point of Batman if the people he protects can easily become the joker and even himself can become the joker. Just another great part of this movie
In the beginning, Deadshot gets attacked by Batman and before he shoots him, his daughter stands in the way so he would have to shoot her to get to Batman (even though his daughter is like 3ft and if he had just stood up, he would have had a clear shot). In the end, he goes to shoot Enchantress. She makes him hallucinate and he sees his daughter in the way again, just like she was with Batman. He has to shoot the hallucination to shoot Enchantress. The Dark Knight is my fave movie EVER actually because it's the most intense movie ever with the best villain Heath's Joker !!! MCU can't touch this !!!
One thing that people don't understand is that just because a movie is better, doesn't mean that everyone likes it the most. I prefer Infinity War or Iron Man, or Avengers, but the Dark Knight is a better film. I just enjoyed other films more, but others may prefer the dark knight. Art is subjective, but if one is more well made or made with better techniques, it doesn't mean everyone will like it more than a more simple piece
I keep trying to explain this to my dad about why Harvey Dent was used at the end of the movie and not saved for the third movie, but I couldn’t word it correctly. But thanks to this video I think I can!
I remember watching this film for the first time, it was like watching The Empire Strikes Back. It was like an epic experience, it was a superior sequel to its predecessor.
It's hard to imagine any superhero film from these extended universes beating The Dark Knight. These cinematic universes have certain agendas, and these agendas can conflict with the quality output of their films. That doesn't mean they're bad, of course; they can be enjoyable popcorn flicks in their own right. It's just that these films usually opt for safer and less ambitious efforts in order to increase accessibility. The best superhero film since The Dark Knight is easily Logan. Like The Dark Knight, Logan isn't concerned with the troubles of building an extended universe, it's only worried about telling its own self-contained story. What's cool about TDK and Logan is that they prove that superhero movies can defy genre conventions and still appeal to the general audience. They can be entertaining blockbusters _and_ offer more substance to those that are keen to picking it up.
"Is Batman the coolest thing bout this movie as the title suggests Dark Knight?" - That's not what it means to "live up to its name". The phrase "live up to its name" is another way of saying, "Is it as good as people claim it to be?" In that regard, yes. It is a pretty good superhero movie and movie in general.
What are the qualities of a good superhero movie to you? What standards are you using? Neither Winter Soldier nor Civil War are masterpieces. They're very good action flicks, nothing more. I don't even consider The Dark Knight or Logan to be masterpieces.
Duwang Is Unbreakable you can’t, I mean if you wanted to you would have to pick an iconic hero, the top 3 iconic heroes are Batman, Spider-Man, and Superman. See the flaws in that list? 2 of the 3 are actual superheroes, the problem with that is that when you have a protagonist who has actual superpowers going against a villain who also has superpowers you don’t get that feel of terror, fear, danger or anything that makes a great antagonist (Michael Keaton’s vulture was good though and guess what? He had no powers). I’d say u could do it if the character you were picking was someone else from the Batman verse like nightwing or robin but even that wouldn’t hold a candle to Batman due to him being an iconic figure. Logan was great but it’s nothing when you have a real life Batman vs Joker movie
Many have begun to realize (I honestly did not until the Nostalgia Critic made his review) that the Mask of the Phantasm is probably overall THE best Batman movie ever. It does TDK message better but in a way that I still sympathize and feel loss for the hero. My biggest problem with TDK (I watched it 5 times in 2008 alone) is that not for a second do I feel sympathetic towards "the hero" in Batman, and I never did. The man is risking his life and decides to take up a mantle to restore peace to the city, as a promise to his parents... and you are willing to throw that away just for Rachel, who Bruce truly has not cared for and honestly has not been the most sane around? I get Nolan's brilliant deconstruction of the superhero genre, and it's good for casual viewers who were tired, but movies like Spider-Man 2 and Logan WORK because the heroes are burdened with capability, responsibility, and the desire to make the most out of gifts that seem to be curses. This Bruce Wayne is honestly selfish and deserves what he gets. And to me that's the failure of the film. Break my heart, make me realize Batman was wrong... but I thought he was wrong since the rooftop scene with Harvey and Gordon.
FBI agent yeah they’re the only ones who think endgame is better. That movie is to fan rewarding and to cheesy to be better than TDK. I love endgame but there are to many moments where they stop the whole movie just to introduce characters and for them to get applaud compared to the TDK where it’s almost 3 hours of suspense, awesome twists and action.
I think the entire Dark Knight trilogy was amazing to be honest. I personally liked Dark Knight Rises the best but to each their own. The struggle Batman faced to pick himself back up always resonates with me.
I like the dark Knight rises to i still don't now why some people that like the trilogy hate this movie , true he is not better than the dark Knight because the Joker performance by Heath ledger as the main villain is Unsurpassed , and unfortunately Nolan cannot have bring the character back in respect to the actor as he say in a Interview back in dark knight rises announcement in 2012. But dark Knight rises ended the batman/ Bruce Wayne journey in a epic way . As a Batman fan i aways cry when i rewatched the movie in the part of the end when Batman sacrifice himself to save the city , the excellent Hans Zimmer soundtrack is simply epic and amazing and Matches Very Well with every point of the movie .
@@heftymagic4814 yeah man, but i still don't now why the reason most of the people who watched the other two movies before hate so much this movie , this movie in my opinion is not perfect true, but he could have been a perfect Link to the DC current extended universe , instead of Warner making a Dumb choice to Reboot the Batman again , they could have call nolan back as a director and then use the Established bale's Batman in Batman v Superman and bring the Character back from his retirement from the last solo movie , and also turn the Joseph Gordon levitt's character before in TDKR in nightwing now to a separated movie in the DCEU later, Jesus why Warner aways have to make so Dumb choices ? They have all the Gold in their hands why the decide to put all that in the closet and try to find a New Gold that results in a zero resourch with the justice league failure for example .
The character work in _The Dark Knight_ is breathtaking. The Joker really pushes Batman to his limits and forces him into difficult choices. It also explores themes like heroism, good, and evil. It's not considered one of the best movies of all time for nothing. I will never understand how people think that _Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice_ is better than this masterpiece.
I think from a narrative point of view, Batman in "JL" is a bit humble because he encountered Superman. Superman's sacrifice at the end of BvS humbled Batman a bit. Plus, and don't hate me...the "Martha" scene. Therefore, Batman in "JL" is a little less angry.
cobra888 There's nothing to hate you for. I loved the "Martha" scene that scene made me tear up. I'm a DC fan that understands the characters and who they are. But you know anyone can have opinion
I have nothing but praise for this movie, not just this movie, but also the franchise. Nolan’s directing was great, Bale was great, Heath Ledger was outstanding, a lot of the supporting character’s casts were on point too, especially Michael Caine as Alfred and Gary Oldman as Gordon. The theme composed by Hans Zimmer was perfect, and very memorable. The part I especially love about this trilogy is the emphasis on realism. The costume and set designers really did well to make the Batman feel real. The Tumbler, Bat Pod and the armour itself feels practical. Because it was practical. There’s so much more I can say about this trilogy, which firmly cement this trilogy in my favourite movies’ list.
Mason Wright it’s really fucking not you dumbass. I have to admit I’m more of an MCU fanboy but the dark knight was and will be one of the best superhero movies I’ve ever watched
And in Batman universe, his enemies also has no superpower. Joker, Bane, Scarecrow, Penguin, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, etc all just human with guts and a smart head
Because Christopher Nolan is a genius and he knows how to tell a story, making an interesting character, direct the actor very well, and direct the movie with visual arts. DCEU is trying to copy Nolan to make their movie on darker visual and then it's fail. Nolan should direct DCEU from the very beginning not Snyder.
margareth michelina Nolan made sure Zack got the movie he wanted to make in Man of Steel and it was that was just a movie with one of the first comic book superheroes in history and Nolan trusted his vision its just that no one else did and wants their own personal take on a hero that belongs to the ages.
Snyder is a talented director, the story lines and dialogue are flawed. If you gave him a brilliantly paced and focused story he’d knock it out of the park with the visuals
He has talent, or else he wouldn't have the job. The Visuals are his strong point. He just fails to use those visuals for the purpose of narrative. All of his movies are centered around the "trailer moments" like big budget action and dramatic reveals instead of character development and a consistent plot.
Brixster so are we really gonna act like Watchmen isn't one of the best superhero movies of all time ? Snyder has great potential, but the DCEU needs to focus on the right kind of movies. Even if it means that they have to copy cat Marvel. I miss the dark themes from Nolan's trilogy. Watchmen captured that dark and gritty feeling, but it was just a movie without any Universe. Suicide Squad was not a good movie. It had some potential, but the cast was a waste of money and the story was utterly bs.
The Dark Knight trilogy are just masterpieces and arguably the best Batman movies of all time. The DCEU just exists just for playing catch-up with Marvel and it’s just a mess and will never amount to the trilogy.
I got the Dark Knight dvd as a gift and since then I've watched it literally hundreds of times. There's actually a small scratch on the disc now that causes a slight skip at the scene where Harvey is put into the armored car for transfer. I absolutely love this movie.
That was a very good analysis of the Man Of Steel. I felt the same way. Superman's choice of being able to restore his planet and not be the last of his kind was not stressed upon enough, causing it to feel awkward when Superman cries at the end.
Ashesbaby26 The part where Zod keeps telling Superman that he can save his planet is stressed on enough, but the part which isn't stressed on enough is when Superman makes his decision. He doesn't stop to think whether he should save Earth or Krypton. He just immediately goes "Oh Imma save earth." He doesn't think about Krypton and reconsider his choices
Bryan Koh you don’t feel he was given enough dialogue for that, within the same sequence? I sort of see it as being similar to WW’s moment at No-Man’s Land, in how she doesn’t need to struggle with the decision: “No,...but it’s what I’m going to do.”
Ashesbaby26 Yeah but the thing is, if he didn't struggle with the decision or feel any remorse beforehand, then why did he start crying at the end?? Doesn't make any sense. It almost seemed like he was comfortable with killing the last of his kind, but when he finally did it he lost it and cried.
Bryan Koh because in the scene in which they had their discussion, Clark attempted to reason with Zodd. When Zodd shoots his eye beams toward the human family in the final moments of the fight, Clark begs him to stop, but he refuses. Clark cries because THAT was where his struggle actually lied. Zodd forced him to end his life, rather than allow him a chance to show him what he had learned about life on Earth, and the fact that its inhabitants did not have to be left to die, for the sake of recreating their own fallen planet’s gravity, etc. Do you see what I mean?
That title is wrong. It should be "why no superhero movie will ever top the dark Knight". Not just DC. It is the best comic book movie ever and nothing will beat it, certainly not any Marvel film
I guess one of the ways superhero movies can be better and more like TDK would be by including more hero-villain interaction. Many CBM have this problem of just having the heroes facing their own problems throughout the movie and letting the villains only pop up at the end of the movie, like Ares, Doomsday, Darren Cross, Dormammu etc. If the villains had more interaction with the heroes throughout the movie, then the villains would be more interesting and start to feel like an actual threat. And what I mean by "interaction" is good dialogue that clearly shows the villain's motivations, not fight scenes. Loki is a great example of this. He barely fights and has few fight scenes, but he is a great villain because of his behind-the-scenes manipulations and his schemes. Like the Joker, he is an emotional threat, not a physical threat and that is what makes him appear unbeatable. TWS also did this well in the sense that the Winter Soldier appeared throughout the entire movie and attacked the heroes multiple times and disappeared right after (he even disappeared at the end of the movie). He managed to appear like a shadowy and unstoppable murder machine and was a legitimate threat, which is why he was a great villain. His lack of dialogue further added to his mysterious character, which is fantastic.
Just A Thomist Yeah I liked Zemo too. I was just too lazy to write more examples haha. But the thing I didn't like about Zemo was that almost all his interactions with the heroes are coincidental, especially at the final battle. I loved that last part though, where Zemo is just talking to BP calmly while Iron Man and Cap are trying to kill each other. That smooth mothafucka lol
The Dark Knight (2008) is the best superhero movie but I wouldn't say that the whole trilogy is the best SET. MCU, particularly the Captain America movies, is the best as a SERIES.
hefty magic I don’t think that’s true. Dark knight was amazing, but dark knight rises was meh and batman begins was only decent. They weight down the whole trilogy
I honestly wouldn't describe them as super hero movies. They are more like crime/action movies with comic book characters. And while I like all three, I have to admit, I liked Winter Soldier for example more than Dark Knight Rises.
Still have the Venom movie coming out next month. I know the Dark knight is unbeatable, but really, I wouldn't say never. Nobody knows the future, so...
There’s one reason and only one reason: Christopher Nolan. After this trilogy, I would say that the best movie DC had was Man of Steel (produced by Nolan). His movies are pure art.
Bale makes a better Bruce Wayne but in opinion Affleck was a better Batman simply because of how much detective side of batman is showed in Affleck's performance
@@duchess5218 i find bale better because he fits the more playboy style rich billionare kid very well. Affleck seems like a dad from a middle class family no offense.

What about Matt Reeves' "Vengeance" ? We have so many comics and things to make a movie better that dark knight . More people with talent are out there . The company issues are the only problems . Who doesn't want a better movie than Dark Knight .
I think the term 'comic book movies' would be more accurate than 'superhero movies'. My top 5 comic book movies are: 5. The Avengers 4. X-Men: Days of Future Past 3. The Dark Knight 2. Logan 1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
zilla universe I agree. Even I don't know why people think Spider-Man 2 is so great. I mean it's good, but not as good as people say it is. It really is overrated. For me, the first Spider-Man will always be the best Spider Man movie.
Browntable for a long time, I considered _Spider-Man 2_ the best after _The Dark Knight._ Then it was _The Avengers,_ which was toppled by _Captain America: The Winter Soldier._ That was my second favorite superhero film until _Captain America: Civil War,_ which only was the second until _Logan._
Harold075 I agree, although I wouldn't call Logan a "superhero" movie. It is a drama with a western feel to it and is set in a dystopian future, and just happens to have comic book characters in it. So I would call it a comic book movie. Logan is indeed a masterpiece, and my second favourite comic book movie of all time next to Winter Soldier. Dark Knight is No. 3 for me.
I think a reworked Wonder Woman without the final Ares battle could work, maybe get its message across better on war and human nature, but it's still not that amazing (definitely not Oscar material). Winter Soldier is near Dark Knight level to me, but doesn't feel put together as perfectly.
Browntable You like Winter Soldier more than Civil War? I loved Winter Soldier, fantastic film, but Civil War was just.... The Dark Knight I see is a BETTER film but I enjoy Civil War more.
Rewatched TDK a few weeks back with my girlfriend and we were taken aback by how astoundingly good the film really is. Everything. From the performances, the story, the pacing, it literally leaves you on the edge of your seat.
+Will Camacho sharknado was sarcasm, that's an awful movie. I think both Blade Runners are brilliant and honestly on par with TDK. I personally prefer TDK more than both but technically the others are better. I prefer story over most things tbh and TDKs story is more compelling in my opinion
Browntable i think Blade Runner 2049 its the movie of the 2010's in general well for now, and TDK best of 2000's in general, do you have other opcions? Ps, you dont now nothing about art, The Love Guru with mike myers, justin timberlake and the wonderfull jessica alba its the Citizen Cane of our time.
They don't need a movie as good as dark knight to "top" the mcu lmao. Wonder Woman is already shitting on the mcu with ratings and accolades and it isn't even as good as TDK. When they make a movie better than TDK they will set fire to the mcu's already rotten corpse not just "top" it. Marvel movies are the mcdonalds of cinema. They are substanceless and dumb and ppl watch them purely for entertainment and forget about them in 2 hours until the next one comes out. They have 0 depth and are not even hard to pass in the slightest. The Dark Knight next to an mcu movie looks like Arnold Shwarznegger in his prime standing next to an anorexic wimp who gets bullied.
If you know the story of the making of Man of Steel, you know that Nolan didn't do anything except spit some money into the project. He had no creative input whatsoever
Thank you for this, I've been saying for years that The Dark Knight is not a superhero film in the sense that it is not of the superhero genre. Yes, it has Batman who is a superhero, but it's basically an epic action crime thriller. Unlike a propper superhero film the hero doesn't triumphantly save the day by fighting a big grey jerk and 'gets the girl'.
You're both wrong, because you fail to understand that the idea of superheroes isn't connected or limited to this overcliche'd and overused movie formula it constantly appears in.
It's not in theory, but it for the most part is in practice. There might come a day where superheroes occupy different genres and narrative structures of film, but that's not the case right now.
Snehil Shrey man let it go , no one is going to take u seriously . The cap trilogy will never come close to tdk trilogy , and I don't need to point out the ratings cus that makes every marvel fan cry every night . Marvel films will never come close to the tdk , period
Ambili Raj yeah well I'm not a Nolan fanboy either , but it's hard to say any other CBM being better than TDK considering this movie is being used in film schools to teach cinematography , method acting and script writing (basics ) . I don't know any CBM that has achieved that kind of critical recognition . Also it's ratings are also higher than any comic book movie out there , and has made the list of the top most greatest/controversial movies ever made . But if you're arguing based on your opinion , then there is no point in arguing .

These other directors might not have a Dark Knight on their resume, but Nolan doesn't have a Jaws, Psycho, Vertigo, Rear Window, Jurassic park, Schindler's List, Clockwork Orange, Double Indemnity, 2001, The Shining, Spartacus, Raging Bull, The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, Fight Club, Zodiac, It's A Wonderful Life, Some Like It Hot or FUCKING CITIZEN KANE !!!!
I'm not saying Nolan is bad. I'm just saying that yes, he CAN be topped.

I love how Deadshot's arc was to learn how to build the courage to shoot his daughter. Wow, so powerful, such a triumphant arc.

I remember watching this film for the first time, it was like watching The Empire Strikes Back. It was like an epic experience, it was a superior sequel to its predecessor.
This along with the lord of the rings trilogy are movies I would have loved to see have seen in the theater
"Is Batman the coolest thing bout this movie as the title suggests Dark Knight?"
- That's not what it means to "live up to its name". The phrase "live up to its name" is another way of saying, "Is it as good as people claim it to be?"
In that regard, yes. It is a pretty good superhero movie and movie in general.
What are the qualities of a good superhero movie to you? What standards are you using?
Neither Winter Soldier nor Civil War are masterpieces. They're very good action flicks, nothing more.
I don't even consider The Dark Knight or Logan to be masterpieces.
how can you NOT consider the dark knight to be a masterpiece? like, seriously, name one bad thing in the movie
Duwang Is Unbreakable sauce for that pfp thanks

Wilson 7397 that's a CLOSE second

Tyrannos, The Memeful Rex I loved BvS character work of Batman. I hold up it up close to The Dark Knight for its characters. Don't hate me
The interpretation of Batman in BvS is fine, it's just that his character is inconsistent in JL.
Tyrannos, The Memeful Rex That's opinion, I'm okay with it
I think from a narrative point of view, Batman in "JL" is a bit humble because he encountered Superman.

Man if you think Snyder is a talented director you're blind as a bat.

That was a very good analysis of the Man Of Steel. I felt the same way. Superman's choice of being able to restore his planet and not be the last of his kind was not stressed upon enough, causing it to feel awkward when Superman cries at the end.
Bryan Koh I personally thought that it was stressed upon enough, when I watched the film.
Ashesbaby26
The part where Zod keeps telling Superman that he can save his planet is stressed on enough, but the part which isn't stressed on enough is when Superman makes his decision. He doesn't stop to think whether he should save Earth or Krypton. He just immediately goes "Oh Imma save earth." He doesn't think about Krypton and reconsider his choices
Bryan Koh you don’t feel he was given enough dialogue for that, within the same sequence? I sort of see it as being similar to WW’s moment at No-Man’s Land, in how she doesn’t need to struggle with the decision:
“No,...but it’s what I’m going to do.”
Ashesbaby26
Yeah but the thing is, if he didn't struggle with the decision or feel any remorse beforehand, then why did he start crying at the end??

Only superhero movie that has come close to beating the dark knight was Logan
Because it is one of the best movies of all time, top 5
Bryan Koh You just gave me another reason I didn't even know was there as to why I think Winter Soldier is easily the best MCU film.
On point man, *on point*
Hey what about Zemo? Carefully manipulating our heroes' natural clashes with each other into outright hostility. He had much the same effect as Loki.

Yeah I liked Zemo too. I was just too lazy to write more examples haha. But the thing I didn't like about Zemo was that almost all his interactions with the heroes are coincidental, especially at the final battle. True that. No super hero movie can come close to the whole trilogy, not just the Dark Knight.
no marvel movie has topped the dark knight either
SuCKeRPunCH187 Logan and Infinity war are close but I agree that Dark knight is better.
Ligma Research centre same here
SuCKeRPunCH187 same here man.
Still have the Venom movie coming out next month. I know the Dark knight is unbeatable, but really, I wouldn't say never. Nobody knows the future, so...
Ligma Research centre logan are million time closer to being a good movie than infinity war... just to point that out
There’s one reason and only one reason: Christopher Nolan. After this trilogy, I would say that the best movie DC had was Man of Steel (produced by Nolan). His movies are pure art.
Without Heath Ledger, the film would just be fine
The Dark Knight: you can’t defeat me!
DCEU: I know... but he can...
*joker*
Spiderman 2
Heath Ledger Joker killed Phonix Joker with the pencil trick.
SpideyAnonymous joker isn’t part of the dceu
@@Flarrow179 Still a DC movie
U WOT M8 yea but not dceu
Christian Bale will always be the definitive Batman/Bruce Wayne.
Lovedeep Sandhu uhhh isn't that exactly what I said?
The Bruce Wayne from the Batman Animated Series and Gotham are the two defintive versions of Batman in my book.
Bale is overrated AF as Batman
Reasons:
6. A realistic plot with great writing and dialogues/monologues
5. Batpod
4. Nolan's epic direction and cinematography
3. Zimmer's epic score
2. Cast
1. Heath Ledger
Yes, Nolan did the cinematography 👍
bro, the dark knight is better than any of the mcu films
The gunshot at 9:31 had me rolling 😂🤣
What about Matt Reeves' "Vengeance" ? We have so many comics and things to make a movie better that dark knight . More people with talent are out there . The company issues are the only problems . Who doesn't want a better movie than Dark Knight .
Nothing can too Dark KNIGHT health ledger nobody can beat him
Straight up Logan and the dark knight are the best superhero movies but they ain't even super hero movies really
dude, I am still not over Logan....
MS PAINT LIVE Spider-Man 2, The Dark Knight and Logan are the best comic book films imo
I think the term 'comic book movies' would be more accurate than 'superhero movies'. My top 5 comic book movies are:
5. The Avengers
4. X-Men: Days of Future Past
3. The Dark Knight
2. Logan
1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
The Avatar Spider Man 2 is very overrated and a laughing stock compare to Logan and the dark Knight
zilla universe I agree. Even I don't know why people think Spider-Man 2 is so great. I mean it's good, but not as good as people say it is. It really is overrated. For me, the first Spider-Man will always be the best Spider Man movie.
15+ years later, THIS IS STILL THE BEST SUPERHERO/BATMAN MOVIE OF ALL TIME, NEVER GET BORED OF IT 🔥💯🙏🏻
The title should be: “Why No SUPERHERO film will ever top The Dark Knight.”
Logan is Dark Knight level to me. The MCU has gotten pretty close as well. It's just the DCEU that I've noticed hasn't touched it by a mile.
Yeah Marvel is pushing forward with their movies, unlike DC.
3 for me.
I don't think the DCEU or MCU can top The Dark Knight.
Red Big'un Infinity War might Change that. Thanos has the Mindset of the Joker with the powerset similar to Darksied.
I think a reworked Wonder Woman without the final Ares battle could work, maybe get its message across better on war and human nature, but it's still not that amazing (definitely not Oscar material). Winter Soldier is near Dark Knight level to me, but doesn't feel put together as perfectly.
Browntable yeah. Mainly
Browntable I think IW may end with Thanos victory with the message- You may not win every battle, but you don't give up fighting the war.
Browntable You like Winter Soldier more than Civil War? I loved Winter Soldier, fantastic film, but Civil War was just.... The Dark Knight I see is a BETTER film but I enjoy Civil War more.
Seen it over 50 times! Best movie ever made! The soundtrack, the choice of characters, the scenes everything about this movie is perfect!
Rewatched TDK a few weeks back with my girlfriend and we were taken aback by how astoundingly good the film really is. Everything. From the performances, the story, the pacing, it literally leaves you on the edge of your seat.
Top 3:
1. The Dark Knight
2. The Dark Knight Rises
3. Avengers: Infinity War
One thing headth ledger
BANANAMAN MOON AND Chris Nolan
BANANAMAN MOON is dead
BANANAMAN MOON I don't know. Batman Begins is better than any other superheroe movie too without Ledger. I guess Nolan is the secret key.
The Batman 2021:WELL,HERE I AM
No superhero movie will ever top the dark knight. How about a "villain" movie ?
haha nice one
90% of movies can't top Dark Knight
But have you seen SHARKNADO??? That's true art
Browntable i havent, i think Blade Runner 2049 tops Dark Knight, you agree?
98%
I like the way you explain your video very fluidly 👍
The day DCEU tops TDK is the day that DCEU has topped MCU.
Cethical I love Marvel, but I gotta admit, you're right.
Well it's good thing that's never gonna happen. DC will always be No.2 when it comes to movies from now on.
But what if MCU tops TDK first with Infinity War?
Sigmund Salazar
You'll never know.
Browntable: Why No DCEU Will Ever Top THE DARK KNIGHT
*Joker: Send In The Clown*
Fetty Waped Me joker was the only reason dark knight was good was because of heath ledgers joker, but I think the joker is a good character period
Nah Tdk is still best Dceu film. Joker just hasn't reached the bar yet
Fetty Waped Me Joker isn’t a part of the DCEU?
@@mistmist4303 Neither is the Dark Knight.
Filip Ferenčak Lmao.
A Decade but still... The Dark Knight stills 🃏
The only reason Man of Steel was a decently entertaining movie was because it was produced by Christopher Nolan.
Christopher nolan didn't do much
Hyun Dong Lee Producer I believe
No, Henry Cavil and Amy Adams make the movie.
He has produced the vision of Sndyer actually. MoS, BvS and Justice League (Read carefully, JUSTICE LEAGUE, not JOSSTICE LEAGUE)
If you know the story of the making of Man of Steel, you know that Nolan didn't do anything except spit some money into the project. He had no creative input whatsoever
2021 The batman: "Hold my beer"
Bro......It hasn't even released yet. Don't be overconfident
No
We'll see
Thank you for this, I've been saying for years that The Dark Knight is not a superhero film in the sense that it is not of the superhero genre. Yes, it has Batman who is a superhero, but it's basically an epic action crime thriller. Unlike a propper superhero film the hero doesn't triumphantly save the day by fighting a big grey jerk and 'gets the girl'.
Mark Arandjus Yup. And that's why it sucks. It refuses to acknowledge what it is.
If you say so 👍
T E 9.1 rating though
You're both wrong, because you fail to understand that the idea of superheroes isn't connected or limited to this overcliche'd and overused movie formula it constantly appears in.
It's not in theory, but it for the most part is in practice. There might come a day where superheroes occupy different genres and narrative structures of film, but that's not the case right now.
No MCU film will ever be as perfect as the Dark Knight either. They will always be entertaining but will never be as smart or as thrilling
Joseph Salcce Infinity War
The best movie of all time 👏
Here after the Dark knight rises Video essay! To be honest this is my 30th time watching this essay, Dark knight Rises just gave me another excuse! Great job!!
