@@vanblitz7009 I think they did great Job with "Black Widow" recently. She is - in my opinion - not the type of Character who is suited for a "traditional" hero story. She is one who holds her feelings to herself, still doing what she thinks is right. And that's what her movie is all about. Well, I think it is, anyway. ^^ In general, in my opinion it is very difficult to make several characters as different as the MCU / DCEU - Heros fit into their own storys as well as into a greater narrative (and Crossovers). All their motivations and goals need to somehow fit into it. I can't really explain that. Maybe when you write a story, decide on the Character's motivations first...? And then think of a story that would develop out of those motivations...? Something like that?
@@vanblitz7009 In terms of movie-quality, continuity and marketing: The MCU. The DCEU however - and this is solely my own personal opinion - has more interesting and differentiated characters. :) They have so much potential! I really hope they will use it right sometime in the future. Anyway, what do you think? Which do you like better?
@@marilunabeilschmidt3536 I respect that. In my opinion, I would choose the MCU because it has really been a big part of my life in this couple of years, it will forever have a special place in my heart. In terms of the actual quality of their movies, they're just better at making us love the characters, they were able to make lesser known characters like the GOTG, Strange, Antman, Wanda etc. so ICONIC while the DCEU is struggling with their famous characters (No hate intended). The fact that they were able to pull this off with different directors is astounding. I love the DCEU too, It surely has its own charm, in fact there are times where I kinda like it more than the MCU, in some aspects. But even with that, The MCU is the far better one for me.
Thank Sarah Haley Finn for that, at least Marvel division has competent staff..... And then we have Kathleen Kennedy literally burying SW with her "direction". Direction, my ass.
DC has some of the most iconic characters off all time and the fact that Rocket Raccoon and Groot are household names now and not Batman or Superman is a testament to Marvel's hard work and DC's failure
Yeah, when people are more excited for a movie with a tree that just says: I am Groot then a Batman movie, you know that something has gone wrong. Marvel had the necessity to make good movies because the characters weren't well known, they couldn't just go off name recognition, they sold all their best-known characters. So the movie had to be good to get the audience invested. DC has the most famous characters of them all, they know that at least a certain amount will go to the movies to see those characters on screen. They are focussing less on making a good movie and just on getting money. Both companies want more money but since Marvel had no big names in their arsenal, they had to make good movies to get audiences interested.
superbman avengers endgame is the highest in the box office now. More than avatar. What did dc do? Oh wait... Shit movies. U guys only have like 2 movies to show off with, we have 23. So stfu. Marvel Always!
Shadow, please stop, dceu movies suck, except the Dark knight trilogy, kind of more, but marvel is better now, since the trilogy ended, so after art, came crap.
So in short, MCU is loved because the movies feels like a real series where we can watch the characters grew and develop, while in DCEU the movies don't really feel like a series because the character's growth and development are all over the place and messy because the characters serves the plot

You missed the fact that Thor goes from having no personality and speaking like Shakespeare to having a personality and speaking not like Shakespeare, but I don't mind because Thor Ragnarok was the soft reboot the Thor trilogy needed.
Narwolf in infinity war they fix that because they show that he uses comedy as a coping mechanism after what has happened and you may say that he hasn't lost anything by the start of ragnorok, but he did see in his dream that was basically a prophecy his whole kingdom being destroyed

Natasha's death pissed me off tbh it was stupid how she died just for the soul stone. And they only acknowledged it briefly afterwards. Her death had no lasting impact even on banner, who could have gone into a mini hulk rage, but in the end it felt very unnecessary and overshadowed by the deaths of Tony and figuratively Cap. Infinity Wars deaths were much better handled.

I wouldn’t say Tony Stark retires in Iron Man 3. I saw the ending as him no longer defining himself as being Iron Man that was why he had the metal removed from his chest, why we don’t see him flying around in the suit for fun anymore and why he designed an Iron Spider suit for Peter Parker and a suit for Pepper. He decided that whilst he IS Iron Man, Iron Man is not all HE is.
@@michaelwomack5769 uhm... What? Batman is ab a dude who's parents die and he gets revenge years later. Iron Man is ab a dude who is kidnapped, tortured and makes an iron suit to fight bad guys
@@_mylo_xyloto_1816 They both don’t have powers. They both are super smart. They both are rich. They both fight bad guys. They both use tech to fight crime and build suits. They even both have butlers as a main character “Alfred” for Batman, and “Jarvis” for iron man(you probably wouldn’t know Jarvis was a butler bc you don’t read the comics)
Another great character example is Wanda in Civil War. At the beginning, she is responsible for the Wakandans' death. Wanda was also manipulated by Ultron, so she wants to act on her own choices. So when the Accords come up, it's a battle between guilt and autonomy. Vision represents the guilt, and Clint represents autonomy, as Clint is the inspiration in a sense for Wanda to be a hero. Vision using the guilt to manipulate her pushes her to choose autonomy.
DC has POPULAR characters. People know their names and backstory. That’s it. Marvel made their characters iconic. People know their whole personality and connect to them

Marvel just makes kiddy humor instead of character development. They only try to put character development in the very end of their stories right before the big fight. That’s why everyone criticizes marvel villians, because they are generic and barely cause any trauma to the hero. Look at the dark knights joker or Aries from Wonder Woman. They drive the protagonist insane. Marvel movies just replace that with kid friendly content. That’s why last years joker (with adult content) got better reviews, Oscar nominations, and made more money than endgame. I’m not even a DC fan but marvel movies just bore me to the point where I’m ranting on a TH-cam video.
Man... The transition is too good. I mean the way they introduced Kang is amazing and at the perfect time, the multiverse, and the consequences of time travel. Marvel pays way too much detail such as in Antman 2 during the quantum realm there had been a city similar to chronoplis (Kangs city) later the directors revealed that to be a future marvel project. Loki has opened up the multiverse and I can;t wait to see other Marvel storylines and charachters!!!
I can't wait to see doctor strange deal with his new problems Wanda, Mordo from doctor strange, the multiverse, and Spiderman getting chased by the cops now I know I was right about that

Haha remember when life used to be "don't spoil infinitywar/endgame for me or i will actually strangle you" DC can only dream of that kind of reaction to a movie.
The DCEU is like a high-schooler assigned to write a thousand word essay: their only goal is to reach a thousand words; it doesn't matter to them what those 1000 words actually contain.
Please see JOKER. Will change the entire game. Deadpool and Venom are the true future of Marvel. They have too many politics going too many different directions. Easy answer: People connect to Marvel's characters more. They apply their beliefs and values to real life situations. They feel close to them. Which makes them want to see more.
It's because DC movies feels like child cartoons. Scripts are too simple and meaningless. They need a good writer as well as patience. DC tried to create its Infinity war movie while marvel prepared its actors and actresses for over 10 years. That's why each of Marvel heroes has their fans. Additionally, DC has no balance the justice league could not able to defeat Steppenwolf whereas Supermen ended him in seconds. It's actually meaningless and boring. Marvel characters strong in comics but in movies they are made way more weaker than they are in comics and it really helps to create entertaining movies. Meanwhile DC movies uses their characters with their full potential and it feels like too much and make that movie more cartoonish.
The problem I have with dc is that it's always Batman, superman or wonder woman. They are reluctant to make movies on their lesser known characters. One exception is Aquaman, not the best of superhero movies, but I liked it because we got to see more of Aquaman. They should stop making damn Batman movies. We had like 8 already.
Yeah so true. DC only made movies for characters like Aquaman, Shazam, Harley Quinn(Birds of Prey) because they saw the MCU doing wonderous things with lesser known characters like Wanda, Vision, Falcon, the Guardians, Antman and so much more. Now Characters like Black Adam and the Flash movie are coming, this would have never been possible without the MCU
Totally agree. It's not even the problem for the movies only, they have (kinda) the same issue with the animated universe. Teen Titans' members alone deserve animated moveis of their own. Starfire, Beast Boy, Cyborg, Raven, Blue Beatle, Terra could also be there. I really like Batman, but that doesn't mean I want to watch over 50 movies about him, lmao.
the last time we got batman movies were nolan trilogy lol. and honestly, batman has a really big world and characters to explore (robin, rest of the batfamily, alot of other villains) but wb just keep focusing on bruce's parents death, origins, joker over and over again. it could've been fine if they did that once, and THEN explore more characters later in the sequel. but no.. batman just keep getting a new reboot
It also helps that Marvel took their time and have building this shit up for 10 years instead of hopping on the bandwagon and trying to push out an "avengers" movie as quickly as possible.
Yeah, agree. As I understood, TJL had to be something similar to the first Avengers movie, where all the heroes meet each other for the first time. We already know their stories, predict reactions, but in TJL we have 2 known characters, then 2 appears from nowhere (and still till the end of the movie we have no clue what the hell they are doing there) and 1 is suddenly revived. There's no plot consistency, so no wonder TJL had such a poor performance. They should've introduced the Flash and Aqua man in 2 separate movies, the intersection of the team in an attempt to revive Superman, and only at the end of the 3rd movie, give a hint to TJL. Then it would be much consistent, and the plot wouldn't be like a roller coaster. But they decided to skip that and put 4 movie plots into 1.
The key is that the 3 main characters in the Avengers, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America had already had their introduction movies. In those introductions most, if not all, of the secondary characters (Black Widow, Hawkeye, Fury, etc) had been introduced too. Even Spiderman had his own movie before they dragged him into the larger group. Doctor Strange, Ant Man and The Guardians also had their own movies before they were brought into the extended universe. On the other hand, with DC, we had two characters with any kind of cinematic history by the time they did their super group movie, Superman and Wonder Woman. The current iteration of Batman hasn't had his own movie yet and the other three, Flash, Cyborg and Aqua Man, were brought in cold. While all these characters are familiar to almost everyone, in some way or another, we weren't familiar with their cinematic versions. In short, DC is doing everything ass backwards. Marvel introduces their characters, let's them than have their own spotlight for 1 or 2 movies and THEN brings them into the group. Dc did the exact opposite. With the exception of the first Superman movies, it was "Throw them in a group, we'll sort them out later".
Marvel links all their storylines which keeps you involved and as a fan watching Endgame you feel good connecting the dots. Marvel is also very funny sometimes which makes it more enjoyable to watch. Also the characters are given an opportunity to voice their ideas and that gives sometimes a more realistic feel for the people watching to not cringe at how forced things are
I'll say, I call them Steve, Tony, Scarlet, Thor, and Rhodey. But I call dceu characters batman, flash, superman, with exception to Diana. The only time I've ever did that with superheroes, was the x men movie. Even though the title is the name of the alter ego, no one's a superhero all the time. If you can't make the rest of the time outside the costume interesting, then it's bound to fail.
This is somewhat similar to the reason I've always liked Marvel over DC. The philosophies of the way the two companies go about their superheroes is different. Marvel has characters that are relatable, no matter who you are there is a Marvel character you'd be able to relate to. DC has characters that you can look up to, to inspire you, for you to want to be like them. There's a good number of people who don't like Marvel's approach to it because they say they don't want to go to a movie or read a comic to see themselves. So it is just a matter of preference. But it's quite the opposite for me. Peter Parker struggles to be Spider-Man, Batman is Batman everywhere he goes, he uses his identity of Bruce Wayne to make new tech/plans for Batman. Thats the difference between Marvel & DC
My personal reason is because Marvels characters are consistent and whenever I watch a DC movie it feels wierd seeing different actors for the same character in every other DC movie
Marvel is just great. I mean, they made solo movies and other movies connect to one. Like damn, that's smart. Edit :: to everyone saying that it isn't smart. All I'm saying is that Harry Potter might be interconnected since it is a SERIES or that blah blah blah and shit. My point was most people expected Marvel to go down in ashes since they hired RDJ out of all people, and not many people expected a post credit scene. The 10 year buildup was a smart move even before Disney. They didn't rush it unlike the DCEU.
DC rushed it, plain and simple. They should've played the long game and build each characters up instead of skipping everything and immediately kill Superman just to catch up with Marvel.

When I saw BvS, the biggest problem I saw with it was that they were trying to do what Marvel did with the Avengers, but without any of the buildup. Marvel did solo movies with their characters before doing the Avengers so that we would already care about the characters going into the film, but I wasn't really invested in the DC characters. The movie also seemed like it only existed to set up for future movies, which detracted from its quality. It's okay to set up for future films in your movie, but you also have to make sure that the movie is good on its own.
MoS, BvS are two build up movies, and JL was supposed to be 2 parts. If DC did the SAME as Marvel they would be bashed because they are copying, now they are bashed when they are not doing the same.
I actually think the DC casting is pretty good as well. Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Women, Shazam, and even Flash were all great. Theres little to none chemistry between the actors though, except for what little we got between Wonder Women and Batman. DC movies just suck because the characters aren't developed at all. Superman 3.- Suicide Squad 4.- Wonder Woman 5.- Justice League Do you see the problem here or you still don't see it? They just mashed characters in that you don't know anything about in Justice League, the only character you don't know anything about in Avengers 1 is Hawkeye, the rest appeared in their own movie or were a supporting character in a film (Black Widow in Iron Man 2). You don't see absolutely nothing about Aquaman, Flash or Cyborg until Justice League apart from a cameo in BvS. DC's universe is rushed, accept it.
At the end of the day, Marvel made movies because they wanted to reach a wider audience and bring their characters to life, so sat down and made a ten year plan that introduced every character before they interacted, or gave you enough on them that you cared about their storyline (even Vision had a bit of an established character as Jarvis). DC on the other hand tried to cash in on the superhero craze in the same way, but instead of thinking it through or letting us get to know the characters, they released them all in quick succession, and only gave us two films of the five focusing on one hero. TLDR; there's a VERY clear difference in how much each company actually cares about the films they're making.
Honestly, the "I can do this all day line" went over my head so hard in civil war, I wish I picked up on that on my own. What a brilliant writing choice

It's weird that Infinity War tries to be an action movie with some comedy, ends up nailing both and also being dark and gritty even though that wasn't really the intent. Without even trying it does all DC had going for it better than DC, in addition to good action, solid characters, a good story and some genuinely funny comedy.
Taufiq Othman Marvel can't do a Hulk movie. Or rather they can but there are distribution issues. They own the rights to the Hulk and can make a Hulk movie. The problem is they don't own the distribution rights; universal does. So they would have to go through Universal to distribute the movie and Disney is not having that.

Watching this video made me remember something J.K.Rowling always said about Harry Potter characters, or rather, the way she always talks about them. She always talks as if the characters are the ones that make choices and decisions and act a certain way, at which she may be surprised herself. So I quite agree with this video. You need to work your characters' choices and motivations, and then, with those as a basis, build a story on them. A really good point, actually.
She admitted to already having an epilogue in mind - which is why Ron x Hermione and the other relationships felt forced. She didn't expect for the characters to grow that way.

It's wrong. Because he's based it on JLeagues flop, when it's universally known for it straying away from the DCEU tone. Whereas if you look at the beginning Arcs of Superman in MoS up to BvS you'd notice the fundamental flaw in this analysis. Which is claiming that Marvel stuck to it's tone and character arc, which in fact DC did too, only that DC only had 5 movies in minus Jleague and Suicide Squad because it completely strayed from the DCEU premise? Which makes this whole thing unreliable. And finally. He is right to an extent. Marvel is all about the character perspective, the main character perspective. DCEU is not. Which makes the act of comparing them much like comparing apples and oranges. DCEU is a kind of a hybrid of character driven and plot driven stories, in which the main focus is the subjects and themes of their narrative. Which is why we see Lois in MoS at the helm of their plot, the plot driver if you will. And in BvS is more or less of the same, in which through her Lex's plot is unfolded. Superman in BvS is treated like a silhouette forcing us to look at him at "other" character's perspectives. Which serves the main point of the film. As to how the world would respond to a Superman. In which they did right. Now it's a subjective matter if you like that execution or not, certainly I do, however, it's undeniable that most do not. So objectively speaking MCU did not make better movies than the DCEU, because their executing their films differently.

Bro, speechless... Btw I've been saying this to people and of course people call me a "Marvel fanboy". Which in turn in just like "wow, people do not want to be told their favorite characters are being treated like crap".

Jonathan Starsmoure Well, you're notion of the DCEU is "doing it right" is subjective. What you are failing to see is that great characters is what makes people come back to these films because you tend to connect with them and their story arcs continue through the different films. DCEU on the other hand plays the event with the characters being in it. The problem with that structure is that there is no connection to the main characters and it makes us not care for them because essentially they are extras in event film. Example, the movie The Day After Tomorrow had characters that nobody gives a shit about because the whole premise to the film is about the event and not the characters themselves. The event is what drives the plot forward with everybody essentially just in it to response to what's going on around him or her. When somebody does die it becomes meaningless and a CGI visual effects fest. When you look at movies like Civil War the characters that we've come to know have a dilemma internally they must now face against their own teammate because it comes down which side are you on? And in turn makes the audience also question themselves as to which side would you take not because of who your favorite character is but because you're seeing both sides from different points of view. Character already having developed traits and how they would react it's like second nature and very natural. Somebody not dying does not give weight to the conflict if someone actually does die but the fact is the fear of losing anybody gives that plot that much more intensity. Unlike in BvS when Superman dies it does nothing to the human emotions except that he's dead for the greater good of humanity but again we have not known him to save anybody up to that point. Making his death just lazy and making us trying to care for something not earned or there to begin with.
Thor Ragnarok was another point in this video's favor. Thor being more jokey did come off a bit out of nowhere but his character arc across the three Thor movies was properly completed when he takes the throne of Asgard but this time he's humble about it and he finally reconciles wiht Loki.
Another big reason as to why it sold me is that they were able to humanize a god and make him relatable (an otherwise lazy reasoning by DC saying Superman and etc. are too godly and therefore too hard of a character to relate). His [Thor] jokes, give or take a few ones taken too far, and interactions with other characters were very real and ORGANIC.
Infinity War had over 20 characters at once yet it still felt organic because people like these characters and got to know them so we get excited when the crossovers happen. In Justice League Wonder Woman was the only character with any personality and half the team were complete strangers, it's no shock that people weren't excited about that team up.
I think in Thor Ragnorok--- It was stated by Thor himself that the reason he ended up cracking jokes here and there whether they are funny or not because he spent too much time around Tony Stark... So the habit sort of rubbed on him a bit. But yes I agree... Even though I found the humor to be a bit out of place in some of the scenes, the film nonetheless developed Thor's character beautifully and seeing him reconcile with Loki was a great highlight in the film.
Pretty much--- Throughout the movie, Thor was almost pretty serious because he was still emotionally broken after witnessing the death and destruction that Thanos and the Black Order had caused on his Asgardian ship... Although he still does make some humorous quips in the film, they were dry humor a lot of the times.
In simple terms: It's OK for a Character to exhibit behaviour Z when before they exhibited behaviour A as long as we see the progression from A to Z. If we don't see the middle part, the character looks as if they are _out of character_ and the inconsistency will piss people off.
No, because we see Thor do that in the middle parts . . . did you not watch the middle parts? The middle parts would have shown you that. . . I guess you didn't watch them? Have you tried watching the middle parts? It would help you understand that the middle parts help characters transition from A to Z. Seriously, watch the middle parts.
i just love how marvel humbles down their superheroes. like they make them pay for their reckless actions (where they realize that they unintentionally hurting other people) and make them humane and relatable. pLUS THE PACING! They don't rush character growth and each character, main or side, has story arcs and i love them for that. heck i like a hammer and a talking tree more than superman 😭🤭
So in short. Never craft your characters around a plot line. Instead craft the plot line around your characters. This analysis sings to me for the fact that I'm an amateur author myself. (Shrug)
Marvel doesn't have icons, and the characters they do have they either stole from DC, or just make a movie about them(milking them). Like making a movie on Captain America is "milking" the character.
Did anyone know about Iron Man,GOTG etc before MCU?No, and now you will hardly find anyone who don’t know them Marvel makes their Icons For DC, WB just keeps rebooting Superman and Batman They will be releasing a new batman with Robert Pattinson and a movie with Black Superman What can they do except that😂😂
The primary difference can be summarized in two words: character development. Also, Tony doesn’t retire at the end of Iron Man 3. He simply distinguishes his identity as a person from the armor. He realizes he is more than JUST Iron Man.
Mavel balances their heroes better. The entire jutice league wasn't able to beat Steppenwolf, but superman just backslaps him. Heck, Marvel made THOR FAT to balance him.
JL was a shitshow bcs of WB and Joss Whedon. Easily one of the worst movies ever made. They made Thor fat but they underdeveloped him. Hulk was wasted too. Hawkeye, Falcon, Almost all GOTG except Rocket, Nebula and Star Lord are wassed. BW got an...ok ending. Spidey just started but I guess he's doing ok. The only charcaters with great charcter development are Cap and IM, and now they're gone.

It’s all about character which marvel did exceptionally. Then DC rushed all its characters even superman by killing him of and bringing him back even before he had a proper sequel so
Lmao DC seen Marvel making bank and panicked lmfao!!! like come on JL really? First off Cyborg, Flash, nor Aquaman ever interacted with one another (at least i dont think so) and so DC just throws them in a movie anyways
SNGaming I agree, you need to build up to plots like the death of superman or Batman returns. It’s like if marvel jumps to civil war in their second movie
@Michael Womack a yes because Batman has a wife and has a bunch of robotic suits and sacrificed his life for others there are many more examples just stop being iggnorant
More English teachers need to use examples from pop culture. They also need to use more examples of where things go wrong, instead of just the classics (which are so renowned that they're practically untouchable, which weakens the lessons by making it seem like anything can have this themey stuff if you stare at it for a few centuries).
Tony Stark boasting about him being "a genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist" is funny and savage because that is how we saw this character for the last 2 films. Bruce, after brooding for the entirety of BvS, saying "I am rich" is just stupid and cringe.
Lemon Pepper the joke batman makes doesn’t make sense with the character the movies have built since he’s always super serious so when he suddenly tells a joke it’s just cringe. Iron man has always made jokes since the very first movie so it’s not weird when he does it because the audience knows this is part of his character.
I’ve always thought of a good story as 65% of character and 35% plot, yes you need the plot to be good to have a good story, but you really NEED the characters to make it lovable and memorable
Plot and character aren't so different Story is external conflict, what happens from an outside view Plot, is external conflict, but with how such events affect characters and make them feel on a deep and personal level. Plot is just characters and other characters
You really nailed it, especially on the Iron Man part, 'Putting in the legwork' to develop these characters really does make the difference, DC movies feel very rushed and the audience has no personal investment in any of the characters (except for maybe Wonder Woman) all those little things add up in the end and add that extra level of depth that allows the audience to relate to them on a level that they normally wouldn't be able to. Top notch review
at least the one liners are useful, dc one lines destroy the characters, the most funny scene in justice league worked because it wasnt forced, superman lifting a buiding, he didnt intend to show off to flash, it just happened, if the rest of the movie actually had that same atmosphere, just like flash face when superman look at him
cap saying he can do it all day, and iron man giving no fucks is in character, batman superpower being rich, is not in character, he would probably say, i dont need a superpower or something like this
There is nothing useful in character building with having characters doing pop culture quirps and references. It works with Deadpool, because oneliners/banter is part of his character.
If Marvel and DC were Gamers... Marvel: Grinded to get to The Highest Level DC: Bought Loot to get to the top but dont know how to use their resources.. It is what it is...
Gellert_ TV I wouldn’t say either of them are great though. Aqua man has lot of problems and Shazam isn’t as good on second and third viewings cuz if you know all the jokes there’s rlly not much entertainment left.
@@Jack-yz2rj Nah I would still say shazam is still an overall solid "good" movie. But yeah the best dc films aren't in the DCEU because it's a mess right now.
Snyder had a vision and was building up the characters that would stretch over mos, bvs, jl part 1, jl part 2, mos 2. Snyder is not the one to blame for it not becoming a reality. And those "hack snyder", "dc is trash" people (marvel fanboys) etc did not really help it become a reality. They helped bringing the marvelization of Justice Leauge which ruined the characters, plot, setup etc. But I think they are happy with DC failing, so they can fanboy over disney/marvel.
The 80's Wolf That was a terrible line-up anyway. Good thing it fell through. Solo movies first, obvious way to build a universe! Marvel fans can like DCEU movies but if they don't they probably have a reason. I want to get excited for both Marvel and DC movies plain and simple.
Hate people so singleminded that they think Tony continuing being Iron Man is a continuity flaw. The ‘clean slate’ protocol is like starting over. He got rid of his old suits and started going in another direction, but still being Iron Man
Yeah he missed the point of the end of Iron Man 3. Also Tony said he was simply cutting down on the suits, meaning not letting his worries of the uncertain future get in the way of his relationship with Pepps.
And that his true power comes not from without (wealth, resources and technology), but from within, as demonstrated by his his intellect and personal character coming to the fore and proving formidable even when stripped of the ancillary benefits of wealth, resources and technology.
And i think that if there is any desire for retirement, Age of Ultron does show Tony Stark is somewhat working towards that goal. Creating an AI in the manner of Ultron is(at least in some part) towards that goal.
This is 100000% accurate and truly well made man. I do wanna point out that Tony sorta DOES address that gap between IM3 & AOU about his suits in Civil War. When he’s talking to Cap by himself when they argue about Wanda, when he’s sitting down, he explains that and why he didn’t bring out Pepper at that event in the beginning. He said basically that after he said hewas done, Hydra was ousted due to the events of Winter Soldier, so the Avengers had to mop up Hydra (which they were doing at the beginning of AOU), then they accidentally created Ultron, “& then & then & then..”. Then he basically said he signed the accords cause pepper wanted to leave him cause of his being iron man & he didn’t wanna stop being iron man, so he thought the accords could help him sort that out, which I’m supposing it kinda did. Anyways, great work man!!!
Lol the MCU may be good, but Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and almost every other Marvel character except Spiderman are INCREDIBLY boring and unrelatable in the comics.
but he removes his arc reactor and gets the surgery done and moves on from that traumatic event that was his abduction so if you just removed iron man 3 it wouldn't change a thing except that you don't know the kid at the end of endgame all of tony's ptsd is back in age of ultron
I don’t think that DC has read their own comics. Because if they did... their movies would be amazing. They don’t understand the depth of their own characters which is really quite sad. Take the Martha scene for instance. Bruce was going to KILL Clark. And he didn’t stop because of his own morals or code. One of the things that makes Batman, Batman. His code of not killing. And that wasn’t why he stopped. If I can remember correctly its not even very obvious why he stops. He just stops because that’s what the movie needs to progress. If he had been the real Batman that we know and love, the idea of killing someone wouldn’t have even come to mind. The other thing that makes Batman, Batman. Is that he never breaks. No matter what. Because he knows that once he crosses that line, there’s no going back. And he’s afraid of what he might become. BvS was all about a broken Batman. Where he kills, uses guns and goes out of his way to fucking brand people. That’s not Batman. That’s not even close. The animated movies do a better job than the big budget live action ones do at portraying the characters that we love. They should just reboot the DCEU and keep Aquaman and Wonder Woman as the first two movies. Wonder Woman was set in WW1 so that can go with any universe that’s set in present day. And then have Aquaman as the first present day movie of the Universe. Then make a good god damn Batman movie already. And do what they wish from there. But hey.... I’m just a fan that cares.
I’m personally very very amused by the fact that lower budget animated DC movies are so great while higher budget live action movies suck so hard. If you think about it: TV series and animated cartoons and movies released by DC are quite good while Marvel Agents of Shield is kind of meh
Tuka then clearly u don't understand bvs as much as u prove to u should probably settle down and watch it again. in some comic books I have batman kind of kill.

If they took it slow they could've been sucessful
That's why they will never go beyond animated films. Though their animated films are godlike compared to marvel animated films
A wise author once said: "Don't make your characters fit your story. Make your story fit your characters."
And I can totally agree with that.
That's a great quote, but can you elaborate what that means for the MCU and the DCEU?
@@vanblitz7009 I think they did great Job with "Black Widow" recently. She is - in my opinion - not the type of Character who is suited for a "traditional" hero story. She is one who holds her feelings to herself, still doing what she thinks is right. And that's what her movie is all about. Well, I think it is, anyway. ^^
In general, in my opinion it is very difficult to make several characters as different as the MCU / DCEU - Heros fit into their own storys as well as into a greater narrative (and Crossovers). All their motivations and goals need to somehow fit into it.
I can't really explain that. Maybe when you write a story, decide on the Character's motivations first...? And then think of a story that would develop out of those motivations...? Something like that?

Lightsaber I mean Batman and Superman are still household names though. But I agree marvel has created a movie empire from basically nothing.

@@SuperOmnicronsj44 zero anticipation for eternals? Are you for real? I personally am not that excited for it but the news around always trends. Easy answer: People connect to Marvel's characters more. They apply their beliefs and values to real life situations. They feel close to them. Which makes them want to see more.
easier answer, Zack Snyder is no where near as talented enough to direct then some of the people marvel is getting.
Batman and Superman are both relatable just not in the film

@@GauravYadav-bf7qj says superman whose weakness is a green rock
Fr bruh Im not even a dc fan but I feel like they have more interesting characters than marvel they kust don't use it
the last time we got batman movies were nolan trilogy lol.
and honestly, batman has a really big world and characters to explore (robin, rest of the batfamily, alot of other villains)
but wb just keep focusing on bruce's parents death, origins, joker over and over again.
it could've been fine if they did that once, and THEN explore more characters later in the sequel.
but no.. batman just keep getting a new reboot
But Batman is actually genuinely good...
But they decided to skip that and put 4 movie plots into 1.
no, that doesn't help. not even one fucking bit

Black widow real name is natasha, not scarlet
saitama is a hero all the time. shopping at the store in full costume and all.

Do you see the problem here or you still don't see it? They just mashed characters in that you don't know anything about in Justice League, the only character you don't know anything about in Avengers 1 is Hawkeye, the rest appeared in their own movie or were a supporting character in a film (Black Widow in Iron Man 2). You don't see absolutely nothing about Aquaman, Flash or Cyborg until Justice League apart from a cameo in BvS.
DC's universe is rushed, accept it.
@@Starfire_Storm even Hawkeye appeared in Thor
At the end of the day, Marvel made movies because they wanted to reach a wider audience and bring their characters to life, so sat down and made a ten year plan that introduced every character before they interacted, or gave you enough on them that you cared about their storyline (even Vision had a bit of an established character as Jarvis). DC on the other hand tried to cash in on the superhero craze in the same way, but instead of thinking it through or letting us get to know the characters, they released them all in quick succession, and only gave us two films of the five focusing on one hero.

I knew Spider man, X-Men , Deadpool , Namor before Batman , Superman was the second superhero I knew , Spider man was the first one

You nailed it. Great analysis.
Thanks, that means a lot :)
Jonathan Starsmoure
Then it'd make sense that he's less jokey in Infinity War given what happens in the opening scene.
Pretty much---
Throughout the movie, Thor was almost pretty serious because he was still emotionally broken after witnessing the death and destruction that Thanos and the Black Order had caused on his Asgardian ship...
Dark Glass like how thor became a comic relief character?

More English teachers need to use examples from pop culture. I’ve always thought of a good story as 65% of character and 35% plot, yes you need the plot to be good to have a good story, but you really NEED the characters to make it lovable and memorable

Story is external conflict, what happens from an outside view
Plot, is external conflict, but with how such events affect characters and make them feel on a deep and personal level. Plot is just characters and other characters
ok
Tenet? I think it's all plot and no character.

Remove one liners from some marvel characters and they wont even have any character.

at least the one liners are useful, dc one lines destroy the characters, the most funny scene in justice league worked because it wasnt forced, superman lifting a buiding, he didnt intend to show off to flash, it just happened, if the rest of the movie actually had that same atmosphere, just like flash face when superman look at him

Exactly. This is the "leg work" referred to in the video. DC rushed the idea of a shared universe and messed it up big time.

Hate people so singleminded that they think Tony continuing being Iron Man is a continuity flaw. The ‘clean slate’ protocol is like starting over. He got rid of his old suits and started going in another direction, but still being Iron Man
He realized that Iron man is not being in a suit. But being himself.
13:50 DC logic fails, Superman hauling a ship on snow, the footprint is barely an inch deep.
I wanna say it's because the ship is floating but idk
Tony Stark didn't retire in Ironman 3 he came to a conclusion of realizing himself and ironman are the same person.
Yeah he missed the point of the end of Iron Man 3. Also Tony said he was simply cutting down on the suits, meaning not letting his worries of the uncertain future get in the way of his relationship with Pepps.
Andrew Brown I actually found thr ending beautiful
