having no time to think or exist outside engineering. having classes that end one day, and having a final literally the next day with all the content from that week. having like 2 semester-end projects that start and end in the middle of finals season. having so many assignments that you do nothing else until the finals hit. spending 2 consecutive nights without sleep (usually wednesday & thursday nights), going to class on friday and then partying that night till 3am on saturday. spending >2 days at a stretch in lab while missing all your lectures and sleeping on lab chairs overnight (almost one of these every week in second year ECE lol).
At UofT you are treated like a number, not a person. It is highly competitive and cut throat. They demand a lot from you. Also they have proven time and time again that they don't care about their students mental health. They care more about funding and public image than their students.
Katie Doucet I agree with the mental health part. But I feel like people saying it's cut throat is an overstatement. It's a lot of work I agree, but no one's out here sabotaging you, they just might not share notes.... If you do the work and socialize you'll be fine. It's just about your approach to it.
@@kenrenji1 I was a graduate student and it was pretty crazy. Some people would throw you under the bus and make you look stupid to give themselves an edge.
and yet the prestige-whore students clamour over each other to attend for that public image. The students subscribe to and therefore encourage the culture of prestige and premium-ism, results over people, and steamrolling others for personal gain. That's no one's fault but the students. Vote with your dollar: study elsewhere.
Honestly, a lot of points made were true but I still think that UofT is a great school. I’m in first year engineering and honestly, i love the community. Despite the fact that my classes are online this year, i’ve met so many people and there’s a huge sense of community because everyone is struggling just like you. You just have to pick and choose the people you wanna surround yourself with, but mostly people are down to help you and explain questions to you. It’s a competitive school but at the end of the day, there are a lot of nice people as well. If you’re nice to people, others will be nice to you in return:) also join clubs! you meet so many upper years who are there to help you and even give you notes!
I'm a second year Life Sci student at the University of Toronto. U of T is definitely hard and challenging but I do think this video gave a little bit of a skewed perspective. You have to remember that there are so many people at U of T, and subsequently, everyone will have a different experience. That is one of the things I love about the university. I know people who are commuters and loved commuting everyday. I know commuters who hate commuting. I know residence students who love residence and I know others who hate residence. U of T is just another normal university, and if you come in thinking that way, you will have a great time. It is a big place and it can seem daunting at first, but almost everyone I know has found their own little community within the wider ecosystem of the university. The key thing is that if you want to do something at U of T, there are all the resources present to do it. It's just about being willing to find those resources.
@@obasidimma It depends. Generally, the answer is no. U of T arts and science as a whole has a pretty high acceptance rate. You'll hear this a lot, but people mostly say that U of T is 'easy to get into, hard to get out of.' And I think this is true to a certain extent. U of T is probably the hardest university in Canada and possibly one of the hardest public universities in North America. That being said, it is a really great education that teaches you the ethics of grit and hard work. It's not easy but it's very rewarding...until you get screwed over by crap marking TAs.
I’m deciding on whether or not I should go to uoft life sci rn. Is it possible if you can give some advice on the marking and amount of work the program has? (I wanna go to med school so…) thanks!
I go to U of T also, everything people said in the video is 100% true. I agree, its like a full time job. No time for partying, friends or else. If you do, well you are quite the multitasker.
engineering is batshit insane but you get to make lifelong friends and people really help each other. someone always posts their aid sheet on the group chat before every exam, and a couple of times literally all of us in ECE collaborated together on google docs to share solutions for past exams that didn't have any. the community spirit in engineering (especially ECE) has saved my ass countless times
@@chesterthepro28 tbh if you want to do a postgrad degree, I'd advise against UofT because your GPA will suck. I know plenty of people who chose York or Ryerson over UofT just so that they would be able to apply for Master's programs
I was planning on going to UofT for Engineering, but now I'm considering not. I don't think I'm going to do any masters but you never know. Should I go?
went and graduated to u of t and honestly.... tutorials, go to them and make friends there. puts into perspective that everyone is struggling as much as you are and that’s already a conversation starter
If you decide to go to Uoft just know after you already got in, you have to make POSt and basically keep a certain average and apply to get into the program you want
Just graduated from uoft from aerospace engineering. Missed uoft right after the graduation! Everything is worth it, but the challenge is real. I think this applies to any university you go or whatever goal you want to achieve. Definitely loved my experience there and made life long friends! (Felt lonely at grad school here though haha)
Man in those big universities it's hard to socialize. my recommendation is to take volunteer activities. I found my girl while I was an orientation leader then we exchanged no. and so on. I sometimes think what if I didn't volunteer there then life was gonna be different. Great video bro
Engineering at UofT is totally different! It's a much tighter knit community, with lots of spirit and traditions and bring engineering students together :)
@@chesterthepro28 it requires a very good highschool average to get in (depends on the specific engineering program though), and requires good time management skills to get through! But definitely they look at highschool extracurricular activities on your resume to get in, and you'll easily have enough time to join a few clubs while you're an engineering student
Nothing’s changed in 20 years! I went 1999-2003 and it was lonely af then and it’s just as bad now. People didn’t share notes, in my Econ class, there was maybe 50 of us graduating, I didn’t make a single friend and I’m outgoing. In 2nd year, I ended up founding and joining a bunch of student clubs, made things bearable, but if I was to do it all over again, I wouldn’t go to UofT, I’d go to Western or Waterloo, the friends that I met later in life who went to those schools made better and stronger friendships. Even those who graduated from York seemed to have enjoyed their university experience far more and didn’t feel like life chewed them up and spat them out.
Okay this video made me pretty sad ngl. I just finished my first year at U of T (literally today) and it's been the best year of my life in spite of the coronavirus pandemic. I found a ton of great friends, extracurriculars that I love, and enjoyed my classes. To be honest, I think a lot of that has to do with my program and who I am as a person - I'm in social sciences, which is definitely less competitive and stressful than sciences so that definitely changes things. I'm also kind of that jerk that doesn't study and still does well, so, to be honest, I would say classes/studying was like priority #7 for me, definitely not #1. My top tips for coming to U of T: if you can live on residence, definitely do! I found the majority of my friends and communities through res. Colleges can also make or break your experience- I go to Vic and I LOVE it there. Another top tip: do one of the college's one programs; you get to be in small classes (one of my classes had 6 students) and you get to know professors. Honestly, U of T is a fantastic school if you're self-motivated and willing to put in a little bit of effort to make friends and find communities. Don't let videos like this scare you out of coming to what is, in my experience, a great school!
Hey Kate! I’m actually planning to go to UofT for Social Sciences this year (hopefully corona doesn’t change these plans) but I was wondering if I could msg u on insta with some (albeit lame) questions from someone who has no clue what to expect at uni
I could relate to most of the things they were talking about. I struggled so badly during my first and second year that I got depression and anxiety issues. and the school didn’t have enough resource to support students with mental health issues because most of the students I know had mental health issues, at least for a short period of time like a panic attack during finals… I think the important thing is to accept the fact that you just can’t get a perfect score at UTSG and that’s okay!
@@ayadwadi2617 I see, that's cool. What did u study for undergrad? I am also looking forward to applying to pharmacy school and currently applied for admission in biomedical sciences as my undergrad program.

@@Kon0925 Program of Study. Basically, some programs have less capacity than students that want to get in, so they make you apply to the program with your first year course marks. Thus there is a cutoff in terms of grades that you must achieve in order to study a certain program. For example in Computer Science, the cutoff is usually around an 85 which they average from two first year CS courses.
Hey sorry if this hella late lmao so does this mean that at UofT engineering students as long as they pass can move on to second year without any problems or is there a cutoff as wdll
to everyone saying that uoft is hard and you have no social life, im pretty sure thats similar to any other top university (not just in canada). if you want a social life and friends you need to actively seek them out, because uoft isn't known as a party school anyways (and if you want to go to parties, they are usually outside of the campus) and just a tip for anyone going to university, try to be on good terms with your TA (teaching assistants) cause they act like the 'tutors' in university and are the ones you go to when you need help as opposed to the professor in the end, your university experience in uoft or not is based on what you do.
Great! Another UofT drone *Sigh* . You must understand that not all top-tier schools are like UofT, just look at Harvard they are considered a top school and they are not as severe as UofT. UofT's CS POST is very, and I repeat very unfair! They put these all of these freshman into a ring, and force them to compete with each other for a chance to get into their desired POST. While others are forced to either switch schools, or switch into a major that they do not particularly like, like stats or math and minor in cs. Let us not forget about the countless of UofT students who are still at UofT even after 4 years, I have recently talked to a dude on Reddit who has been at UofT for 7+ years!!! UofT has shown time and time again, that they do not give a crap about their students. People who are struggling with mental health issues are forced to wait days and sometimes weeks to get help. UofT is not broke! They can easily get more mental health professionals, but they would rather use that money to invest in Gun manufacturing facilities(thetyee.ca/News/2016/01/12/Weapons-Divestment/). How many suicides will it take for UofT to finally change their ways? 2 years ago, a UofT freshman was visiting the campus with their mom and witnessed a suicide attempt. What was supposed to be a new beginning for a promising young freshman ended up being a horror scene.(www.reddit.com/r/UofT/comments/6ykcrg/a_uoft_student_attempted_suicide_today_on_college/) I feel like UofT is just trying to be another MIT, but the difference between both schools is that- UofT purposefully makes things harder for students by deflating marks, and adding cutoffs. While MIT's courses are more rigorous in nature, and the crazy thing is!! You can actually fail a course at MIT and still work towards the degree you strive for. WOW! Isn't that crazy?! My points may be all over the place, but I just dislike this whole "UofT is what you make it out to be." Rhetoric, it's way deeper than that.
I think Science v. Humanities/Social Sciences is really different! I did Neuroscience and Psychology (which is considered as a science at UofT) and we had these big facebook groups and there's usually at least one person (usually more) who posts their notes (AND recordings) and people help out each other. We're still competitive but there's a nice sense of camaraderie and support. We also had lots of socials in person and I definitely felt like I was part of a community. Being part of a "social" college really helps as well (I've heard that in Woodsworth, people didn't really talk). I'm from Trinity and instantly found a community (it's definitely the study hard party hard kind of atmosphere) and I've had a lot of friends from other colleges as well from joining clubs and meeting people in my neuro and psych classes! I didn't have too bad of an experience and really enjoyed it -- the people made all the difference (I had a number of great profs who became my mentors and I met really great people who have become lifetime friends). From what my friends from humanities/social sciences told me their classmates were way more stingy with notes and didn't help each other in class or in the FB groups...It made it a bit more difficult starting friendships but not impossible! The UofT experience is very field-dependent.
Hey! I just received my acceptance from U of T for psychology and also trinity college. I am a little nervous about what to expect as I am an extroverted person with my friends but quite shy when meeting lots of new people. As I am really considering this university as the one to accept, I was wondering if you could give me some info of the course and the community? Thanks so much!!
I cannot believe how much people hate on U of T. Best four years of my life. So many people go there because it's local or because they want the prestige, but the people who actually go there because they like it end up having a wonderful time. Make friends at your college or in your program. There are tons of events. Classes are hard because it's a challenging and rewarding academic experience. If you want to just skip classes and party, go to a different school... duh??!!
I just got into U of T. I also have offers from Western and McMaster . After watching this video and reading the comments and numerous Reddit threads, I have pretty much decided not to go to U of T! Thank you sir for this video.
I currently attend UofT, both Downtown and Scarborough campus. From my experience I like the Scarborough campus way better because it has a sense of community as opposed to the downtown campus. Downtown, however has way more options for courses when it comes to particular programs. One thing that I have found is that even though UofT consist of 3 campuses they may as well have been 3 different schools. I say this because it is so difficult to transfer from one campus to the other. I tried doing this and had to complete a full application as if I was applying to get into the university for the first time. Now I’m applying for a transfer into York.
Hey! I would wanna know more about your transferring situation. I got into both utsg and utsc and im planning to go to utsg for my first year to experience it and then transfer to utsc for coop.
UofT and many other large universities are ranked high because their research and grad studies. As a grad student, I would advice undergrads, seriously, go to a smaller but still great university. You’ll have much more done during these years. When the undergrad volume is so high, how can you get advices or answers from your professor? At the end of your degree, how hard is it to get a decent reference letter from your prof considering so many of your classmates are equally competitive? U of T is great in many ways. But not undergrad education.
@@Windtorment PhD degree is highly dependent on individual supervisors and programs. It's more important to look at the publications and research that they are doing. It's also important to meet the professor in person and their students in the lab. Look at the career development of the alumni from the lab.
I agree I went to uoft in the early 1990s. It was so cold and impersonal and the professors had no idea you existed as classes were so large ( I took sciences). I think best for undergrad go to a small university then grad school at UofT or other top programs. Your grades will probably be higher at a small school with smaller classes and you will bet far more attention from profs and teaching assistants. When I went to UofT many teaching assistants could barely speak English and the school did not care about you as there are just too many undergrads.
I never went to UofT, but i understand why people would be reluctant to sharing their notes or being stingy with it. Unless you have a good reason to miss a lecture/class, why should they share their notes to someone that just wants to leech off them? Go to your own lectures/classes and take your own notes, simple as that. Talking about independent, and lonely, do your own shit, stop depending on people.
Question understand the first part about not to leech, but if someone who took the course in a previous year had the notes to tht teacher and could help out would you say your on your own ...
C J thats called networking. Btw my comment above was a response to the people in the video, but working together would always help just don’t solely rely on others. Don’t think that student from the previous year is gonna have the notes to everything.
UofT is more like a financial group, maximizing their profits and working on that public impression instead of focusing on their student and community because they know we can’t do sht to them
Man I keep hearing how lonely UofT is ;-; regret applying now. I'm not that extroverted but I want to live a little, I'd love a proper community. Western is looking good to me yeet

If you have mental illness and something complicated is going on in your life, UofT is not a place for you. My life was fine, when I first started school at UofT, so I worked hard and I got pretty good grades. My depression was getting better as well. But something horrible happened in my life later and impacted my school life. I was literally lost. I'm sure people wth mental illness can relate to this. You never know when depression is gonna hit you, but school is not very supportive. There is a support called "Accessibility Services", but profs usually don't know how this works, so you end up not using most accommodations that you are getting. I think, for most students, if you work hard and sacrifice other values, you will be fine. But the time at UofT can be the worst time of your life, if you have mental illness. Also, if you are in engineering, you don't really have time to sort out your life. Most of my friends who are smarter than me and decided to go to York (They ditched the acceptance from UofT) are happier and had no problem getting a job, so don't worry about the brand value of UofT. Choose the uni that is easier for your future. Scary Fact: At least one engineering student commits suicide. This tells you what it's like to be in engineering at UofT.
Tldr: I was at st George for undergrad, graduated in 2016 yes there is a damaging mentality there, but it *can* be subverted and you *can* build community, though it does take more effort than schools in smaller cities. There *are* a lot of opportunities to be had here, and if *you* want to go here, NOT just for the paper at the end, then it can be a rewarding experience. I think a lot of this also depends on the program you're in and how you approach extracurriculars. I took a lot of classes from a smaller program and was able to recognize faces and we developed a good community. I also joined a number of clubs just to see what was there and stuck with the ones I liked. UofT does have a lot of $$ for resources and opportunities (I didn't need to buy a bike for a year and a half, and didn't even need to pay when the wheel got stolen). Like the one person said, just replying to the email, taking the 'leap' to join a lab (once you're in you realize how it was silly to feel so intimidated before) can help tremendously. That said, uoft can be a bit of a pressure cooker as a student, and the self-selection of high achievers means a lot of the students there, especially undergrad, are already prone to being stressed and anxious. And then you just put a bunch of those ppl in the same room and make them do tests... a lot of my friends definitely struggled and found it hard to meet ppl. It can definitely be an isolating experience, but there are means to mitigate it. It's so important to have stuff that you do outside of school that you enjoy. We NEED to have more to our identity than solely being a uoft student. I went to uoft because I wanted to be at a dt campus in a big city. I didn't realize the 'prestige' of the university until after I was there and saw how other students talked about it. Though I obviously tried to do well, I didn't focus on my grades. I volunteered a few hours a week and met ppl, I joined clubs and met ppl. I chose personally meaningful courses over bird courses and easy grades. I am naturally outgoing which helps, but there are a lot of ppl who are starved of community at uoft and would love to make a friend, especially in first year, so I promise you can too 😉
@@oscarbustillo4451 if you are an international student, you're pretty much fucked. No government aid, almost no financial aid from the school itself (you're lucky, if you even get one of those awards that they have), it's pretty hard to get a student loan too

Allscool - what’s your plan after life sci? Even with life sci as a start for first year on the end of first year during summer you will have to specialize in certain programs, either specialist with minor, double major, or major with 2 minors. After that u have to think about either med school or grad school. It’s better off to plan now.
@@allscool-4131 hope everything goes well for you. With that said, I extremely recommend you to try hard in first year, as marks well affect you in which programs you can get into for the 2nd year. For life sci the typical is usually taking all 3 sciences + calculus and an elective. For elective you may do psy100 for one semester and the other I would recommend doing a seminar course as it's somewhat like highschool comparing the size of the class and much more communication among colleagues. If you do need any tips let me know. For starters, you always want to read the lecture materials, trust me they do 10x better the job at explaining than most of your profs. I know it's gonna be super tough specially for that first year and 2nd year to get good habits going and there will be a ton of stuff to read and learn. You can start off with just reading the headings of each section as it will prime your memory before going to lecture, try to form questions based on some of them and maybe you can get these answered either in class or go up and ask the prof.
I went to the mississauga one and I dont think so. In my experience, the social life might be at the same level. It's a great campus if you strictly want to learn and succeed. But definately not a social hub. Similar to utsg, just smaller.
Hey. Don't be biased. I know some Mississauga graduates who did their masters and PhD in UofT Saint George. Do you think these people are stupid? Similarly I heard so many people being biased about UTSC students. First of all, I know UofT Saint George graduates who are doing their MSc and PhD research at UTSC. Do you think these people are stupid? Really? Why do majority of the UofT Saint George students have so many biased opinions about all UofT campuses. Think of how many UofT professors from St.George, UTSC and Mississauga are teaching in other campuses. These professors are working so hard to provide the top academic standards to other UofT campuses. I know that UofT Saint George is difficult but stop spreading rumors about other campuses. You are putting down the UofT spirit and you are making it easier for other Universities to tease us.
I'm a McMaster student! Your class experience and general community depends on your program here, I find. I'm sure that's also the case at U of T and other large universities in general. Ultimately, if you're going to a major university like Mac, U of T, Western, UBC etc., you will be going to school with thousands of other students, and your experience will depend on what you make of it. What environment suits your goals? On top of that, how can you best maintain your well-being and performance? They're both good choices though! Best of luck, choosing a university can be so hard 😅

Honestly its not really worth it. This school does not listen or care for its students. Majority of people are literally on the brink of tears ( not called "U of Tears" for nothing). Trust me, if you're going to spend that much money, please spend it elsewhere. Dont let the "prestige" fool you. Its your life in the end.
I'm a third year Uoft student, you should look into utsc. it's a smaller community/smaller classes, & I'm personally always alone on that campus to eat/study/go to lectures & it's actually relaxing.
I can't speak to anyone else's experience but I'm a first year at U of T and I've loved it so far! Obviously I've only been here for a semester but I've made really great friends and found community that I connect to. I've also been lucky with classes, but honestly if you take things you're interested in, check prof ratings on rate my prof and work hard, you'll do fine. It's not for everyone but I think it is a great fit for some people. I have friends in all of my classes and I rarely eat alone (although I do occasionally and I actually kind of enjoy having some time to myself now) I would definitely recommend applying to Victoria College though- it's my college and it's a huge reason why my experience has been so good so far! Don't let other people scare you if you really want to come here and think it's the place for you. Shoot me a reply if you want to chat and I'd be happy to talk more about U of T!
As a 4th year student at u of t here in st George campus I recommend u that if u for sure want to come to u t. You need to focus 100% and be on top of everything, really take advantage of the resources of the school. Also if something does come up to be “hard” or overwhelming, take action asap that is ask for help. Lastly expect your mid terms and exams are way harder than your lecture materials. They tend u just teach u the basics and not really targeted on stuff you would actually see on the exams. Personally I’m not sure if this apply to every university but here at u of t prof are basically forced to balance out the class average. Fun fact: there has been prof in the past who got fired for making the exam too easy. The school itself basically want to keep the average around 70-to high 70s and low 80s. Currently this year there was an email got posted and shared on Facebook where a certain department literally comes out saying they are sorry that they have to curve down the marks to lower the class average as the students were doing wayyy too well on the final and ended up averages with high 80s and low 90s.
I need honest answer, in class do teacher explain well or just bypass the lecture/subject? Because am planning to go for UFT and I believe it's one of the best in town.
Johnson hit the nail. There are indeed a lot of profs who care more about research than giving quality lectures. My favourite lectures so far have been in health & disease, nutrition, and evolutionary bio. (biochem, chem, and orgo chem aren't delivered well compared to online alternatives)
Some UTSG students have biased opinions about other campuses. First of all, challenge yourself to take the toughest courses in other campuses and compare with the tough courses in UTSG. I know there are so many hard working UTSC students who are taking courses at St. George. Also, I know some hard working UTSG students who are taking courses at UTSC. You all have to understand that everyone in all campuses are going through the same problem. Many UTSG/UTSC/UTM professors are teaching in other UofT campuses and are working hard to provide the top academic UofT standards. Obviously, there will be high competition in UTSG because there are so many students enrolled in all courses, which is also common in other UofT campuses. Be open-minded about other campuses and stop spreading nonsense rumors.

The institution promotes diversity and status of women to attract many students, but what we saw behind the scenes was a whole different ball game. Many ethnic people were kept in lower or middle positions and treated as second class citizens, and women were expected to behave traditionally 'prim, proper and soft spoken', and if one did not conform or had a difference of opinion, they were treated severely. Freedom of speech, thought, and independent thinking did not seem supported at this institution, that it felt more like a cult.
For most jobs, as long as you have a degree it doesn’t matter that much what university you got it from. You can have better marks in the “same” program at Carleton U and get more scholarships and whatnot that you would get at UFT.

having no time to think or exist outside engineering. having classes that end one day, and having a final literally the next day with all the content from that week. having like 2 semester-end projects that start and end in the middle of finals season. having so many assignments that you do nothing else until the finals hit. spending 2 consecutive nights without sleep (usually wednesday & thursday nights), going to class on friday and then partying that night till 3am on saturday. spending >2 days at a stretch in lab while missing all your lectures and sleeping on lab chairs overnight (almost one of these every week in second year ECE lol).
i’m gonna say ....”try to stay alive”
I walk across all 4 lanes of the queens park roundabout without looking both ways just so a car can abolish my existence
Damn brotha. :(
At UofT there's infinite lanes, and you can identify as any lane at any given point in time.
Lol bruh
Damn bro that's tough
I'm sorry. I hope you get better. But you need to know that you're valuable, please go seek some help.
Scarborough campus is better
Not to mention actively working to cover up suicides on campus. Makes me sick
Do you think it is possible to work and go to UofT in the same time everyday?
I also just applied to u of t for Life science and I want to know if it is a highly demanded course by undergraduates

Grades being "linearly adjusted" for the sake of maintaining a 60 avg

I could relate to most of the things they were talking about. For anyone going into any non-engineering programs, make sure to know about PoST! Especially if you're going into Computer Science
What's PoST?
@@Kon0925 Program of Study. Basically, some programs have less capacity than students that want to get in, so they make you apply to the program with your first year course marks. Thus there is a cutoff in terms of grades that you must achieve in order to study a certain program. For example in Computer Science, the cutoff is usually around an 85 which they average from two first year CS courses.
I heard they removed that this year!! woot
@@saifshahin3644 Whered u see that

to everyone saying that uoft is hard and you have no social life, im pretty sure thats similar to any other top university (not just in canada). if you want a social life and friends you need to actively seek them out, because uoft isn't known as a party school anyways (and if you want to go to parties, they are usually outside of the campus)
and just a tip for anyone going to university, try to be on good terms with your TA (teaching assistants) cause they act like the 'tutors' in university and are the ones you go to when you need help as opposed to the professor
in the end, your university experience in uoft or not is based on what you do.
What was supposed to be a new beginning for a promising young freshman ended up being a horror scene.(www.reddit.com/r/UofT/comments/6ykcrg/a_uoft_student_attempted_suicide_today_on_college/)
I feel like UofT is just trying to be another MIT, but the difference between both schools is that- UofT purposefully makes things harder for students by deflating marks, and adding cutoffs.

Bro is it easy getting in McMaster. I mean were your grades too good or were they average. Also did you have extracurricular?
But not undergrad education.
do you have any recommendations for undergrad? would you recommend Mc.master?
Is it great for PHD?
@@abbyk_j I haven't been to McMaster before but it is a well-reputed university. Also, you'll have to research about their individual programs.
@@Windtorment PhD degree is highly dependent on individual supervisors and programs. It's more important to look at the publications and research that they are doing.

DID YOU DO MCGILL? IF YOU DIDN'T....PLEASE DO! (please please)
I am naturally outgoing which helps, but there are a lot of ppl who are starved of community at uoft and would love to make a friend, especially in first year, so I promise you can too 😉
Me as an introvert I would enjoy this school cause friends distract me from school a lot. So I would join like volunteer activities in the weekend.

@@chadesiel Marking on a curve? I want to do life sci

Even with life sci as a start for first year on the end of first year during summer you will have to specialize in certain programs, either specialist with minor, double major, or major with 2 minors. After that u have to think about either med school or grad school. It’s better off to plan now.
@@chadesiel prolly gonna specialize in bio, I'm thinking of maybe dentistry or psych. I just applied to it at uft

Thank you for making videos like this man 🙏🏽🙌🏾❤️
Best advice: go to one of the other 2 campuses and not the one downtown 🥵
You should interview students from utm and utsc too
Could you please do a video on U of T downtown’s mental health and disability resources which are available. Love your videos thank you so much for sharing and disseminating the knowledge 🙏🏻👌🏻😊
I've seen a lot of people talking about engineering program in UofT but what about others such as Visual Studies and Arts-related program?
All of these are ACCURATE! 😂😂😂
Hi, your videos are really interesting, can I post them on Chinese video sites? I will indicate where the videos came from!
it doesn't matter about your gpa, it's how you present yourself and market yourself. As long as you have a UofT degree. - Hazel
ThePrivateJoker I’m not a UofT alumni. I was paraphrasing one of the interviewees.
GPA only matters if you wanna go to grad school or Law/Medical school
@ThePrivateJoker It may but the question is, to what extent?
This channel is SO underrated
Eye opener.. literal eye opener
I enjoy your college videos even though I been out of college for a while...
I’m a junior in highschool and I rlly wanted to go into UOFT but now I’m just TERRIFIED in general bcus I get uncomfortable just eating and standing alone.. :( I doubt I’ll ever achieve something
Bruh did you listen to what they said? Put yourself out there. God forbid you have to say hi to the rando sitting next to you in class
You should do one for Sheridan college Davis campus
I need honest answer, in class do teacher explain well or just bypass the lecture/subject? Because am planning to go for UFT and I believe it's one of the best in town.
There's good and bad profs at every school. Generally, the more famous profs do a poorer job teaching. They care more about their research.
I'm from Indonesia and currently applying for the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship and I hope I can socialize and manage my time well if I do get accepted in April. Hearing these horror stories really make me think twice after applying for mechanical engineering there...
Adolf Azusa engineering students usually have fun actually since there’s no stress about POST so you should be fine! :)
@@nimmitas-mia7510 What's POST btw? And from what I've heard engineering students usually pull all nighters for exams and assignments. Sorry for the follow up question btw since I'm worried being so busy I don't have enough energy to cook and do my chores there
@@adolfazusa1138 hey! I applied and in from indonesia too! Have you done your scholarship essay?
@@joellas4656 I already submitted mine for the scholarship including my application for the UOT campus
@@adolfazusa1138 good for you! I still have so much to do and it's near the due date already.. which high school are you from by the way?
If you didn’t do MCGILL plz come!!! This school needs more attention!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you please also do uottawa!
Feel like this sentiment is felt at a lot of Universities. Gotta get off your phones yall and learn to talk to strangers (@me included)
UofT is better as a graduate school than an undergraduate school.
Hi, in 2021-2022 there what about scholarship for foreign students in Toronto university?
For most jobs, as long as you have a degree it doesn’t matter that much what university you got it from. You can have better marks in the “same” program at Carleton U and get more scholarships and whatnot that you would get at UFT.
Do Trent
This is DA PLACE!!!! THIS IS THE BEST SCHOOL
Hey, great video. Do you know the price range for an international student who would like to their masters in the business field? You answering would really help me out. Thanks
Hello. Does UOf T have genetic counseling courses. My daughter has 15 years of education
hi, can anyone tell me about the psychology programme in uoft? it’s my biggest dream to go to uoft and I would like to know what i’m getting myself into :)
Despite popular opinions u of t can actually be fun lol. Just don’t take your grades extremely seriously and take time for yourself once in a while. Plus you’re downtown Toronto where there’s tons of places to go out and meet people!!
Mostly good advice, but I know that people who don't take their grades seriously become stressed in first-year and drop out.
This was so helpful thanks milkman ❤️
What about Financial Economics? Anyone from there?
Actually I like university of york and Toronto but it's not easy to study at university of Toronto it's so expensive but you studying at york and take more opportunity than Toronto
york university is shit
@@heist4420 bruh what
@@yuhyuh5674 u heard me lmao
@sara gomes no, friend learned their lesson though lol
Why do they hate on York!?!
Apparently at the law school the cowardly administrators apologize for an assignment based on real facts. What is up with that? How do they train future lawyers by avoiding real life situations?
How is Rotman Commerce like?
come to mississauga campus!!
Who said I haven't been yet 👀

I would really want to study there
Can you do one on George Brown college? Please!
Can someone explain why she said some people look down upon york ?
it doesnt have the best reputation because people think that york kinda just accepts anyone
Someone tell me what's the whole deal with York? I'm going there next year
If you can hold a fork you can go to york (I go there so I'm allowed to say that)
@@Kernviter but is that like an insult to the school?
@@rabblay9073 basically anyone can get into york. york is not prestigious enough, I guess. everyone makes fun of york UofT and its campuses, Waterloo, Guelph, Western and even Ryerson. also its located in a somewhat shady part of town, also profs go on strike a lot.
@@rabblay9073 its a joke, it doesnt actually say anything about the school
Well I thought just like the ppl in the video..hell I was accepted in UofT, western, queens etc. with huge scholarships and was literally crazy about UofT..I decided to go to York cuz the commute is real short and I'm tryna get into med school..honestly..I don't regret it at all...I actually kinda like it there lol..but that's my opinion
how is the stress compared to ubc and waterloo? Going to computer engineering or computer science
for engineering specifically, waterloo has a mandatory co-op program, so you spend a lot of time studying or working with no 'real' summer
Bro why does almost everyone have a lisp, is that a requirement to enter or something?
Without nice outgoing people in my first year res, I would have spent 4 years at the school and nobody would know I even went there. Everyone is mega serious all the time.
