- Inside the small town of Peterborough lies Trent University, a post secondary institution that was established in 1962. With a tiny undergraduate population, the university boasts 6 colleges with intimate class sizes.
The Milkman hopped on the 401, and headed East to Peterborough to discover more about this highly underrated University. And despite the cold weather, the students provided a warm welcome as well as insight on this hidden institution.

What is/was your experience at Trent like?
It was lit. I took psychedelics I'd never tried before and got 8 on my kill count during those 5 years ;) hahaha
Oh fuck it was something out of the movies. Exactly what the "college experience" is known for.
I hope Trent stays as awesome as I remember
As an International student , Trent has been extremely welcoming and accepting to students who come from various ethnic backgrounds. I really appreciate the diverse food options that the university provides students with dietary restrictions. The inclusion of office hours and seminars / workshops by faculty have provided a more personalized class experience in comparison to the multitude of students at lectures. The many extra curricular activities provided by Trent teach students a whole lot. The campus facilities from the library , the gym , and the beautiful view from the Faryon bridge overlooking the Otonabee River are just breathtaking! It does take some getting used to but overall there is no place Id rather study

In first year right now for physics. It’s good, but the people are not welcoming for me. Switching to Ottawa university soon I hope.
For a quiet school everyone seems to have a lot of fun still 👀

I loved Trent - beautiful campus - fun little city ! I’ve been to 3 other schools throughout my education and this one still holds a special place in my heart!

Trent is a great University! Your professors are easy going and always there to help you succeed. The SAS Group is great for students with any disabled problems who need that extra help. The regional groups are great for domestic and international students to be part of the Trent community. Overall Trent is one of the greatest universities in Ontario. #TUAlumni

Ughh I wish I applied to Trent I’m kinda regretting it, esp since my aunt is doing her PHd there so I’d have family if I got homesick, my first choice has been Waterloo literally since I was born watching ur videos has given me such a diff perspective on what to look for in universities

@@milkmanTV Yeah at Trent specifically the experience differs greatly depending on the major. I think it would be the same for other smaller schools as well.

I want to know that are the both campuses of trent (Peterborough and Durham ) equal in terms of education quality?
I want to know the same, if you've got your answer please let me know too
As a Durham grad, I can say the experience was exceptional. During the pandemic, I was able to take several Peterborough classes online, and I would say the quality was pretty much the same- the difference is really in quantity. There are fewer program/course options in Durham, but also some programs that are exclusively Durham-based.

@@Vonnyyxo Trent is in a way. But the dominant groups are Indians, Mexicans, Chinese, Koreans and Nigerians. There are other nationalities but pretty small. But Peterborough, the City where Trent is is not diverse. Ah! Mostly white Canadians.
Great. But this was before online academic journals. We had to actually search and find an academic journal hands on.

School is boring (event planning here is garbage since there is nothing interesting outside the school atmosphere) , weather is cold, there is no Uber. And If you ask me, the only thing to do at Trent is drink or get high af. Hence why most people spend all their time at the garbage nightclubs in the city. Community is chill though and the classes can be amazing or shit depending on the prof; but that's every school.
There’s no Uber? I’m planning on coming either here or Laurier from downtown toronto (both 1 and a half hour driving). I will have my car with me. Since it’s a small town, is it easy to come to the school, is it easy to go around, does it snow a lot? Help me haha
@@randomvids2882 Just to be clear, I'm speaking about the Peterborough campus for Trent. There is no Uber and I believe no Lyft, cause the Mayor banned it. Although we are on the Snow Belt (whatever the hell that means), I have found that the weather here is actually quite comparable to Toronto. In fact, I heard the Laurier campus in Kitchener has worse weather than Peterborough. Once you get to the area the school is in it is definitely really easy to get around, you could walk to everything on campus in 5 minutes. and the roads to get where you need to go around the city are fairly easy to memorize.
I would like to add that, if you do something huge, word will spread quickly. This can be good or bad depending on what the situation is.
