    Jonathon Chown is one of the few teachers who can explain and demonstrate basic concepts in golf swing that be quite difficult to grasp for an amateur player
    He speaks clearly, without over complicating his lessons
    A top coach and one I recommend to all my friends who play golf
    Thank you Jonathan

    This is brilliant mate. You really nailed it. Now I can scrap all the swing thoughts I learned for the last 15 years and just focus to build the right foundation swing with your drill. I cant wait to hit the range testing this out. More amateur golfers need to see this.

    Very underrated and highly explanative swing coach. As a low-handicapper I followed your video instruction to help improve my iron game. Been on the range multiple times and used your verbal and visual instruction.
    What a difference! My yardage has maintained or increased with less effort on my body (was taught as a junior in the 90s) and created such a great apex that people started to gawk at my range session (lol). Thank you for this outstanding advice!

    The preset rotation drill has litterally changed my swing. Better contact (middle of the face instead of close to the shaft usually. May be due to a better use of left leg at impact and then better back hip position, I think?), removed or limitated overswing (a big issue for me), better rotation of course and increased club speed. Also much easier for me to make a draw for example. In brief everything has improved, in chain. Feeling is so much better. Fantastic 😀. A big thank ! The only issue for now is that I make this drill before each swing 😂

    My friend my words of advice is really simple. The old expression in America is that we can’t do two things at the same time in a right way. Your advice has me taking note of the simplicity of movement, terrific. The other note that I feel though probably shared by many was reached on my own, is that hitting off he ground means hitting the ground and as a consequence hitting the ball. Leave it to those watching to experience the joy of the ball being hit and the results of a great effort. We entertain each other and not directly ourselves. Be Great Be Good and Be Lucky

    • @jchowngolf
      @jchowngolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Cheers Rodney! You shouldn’t be hitting pulls or pull hooks with a rotational downswing. Check if your club face is overly closed, and have a check of your hand depth at the top of the backswing 👍🏼

    Your videos are really well explained and if I was a younger man then I would revert to the rotational swing that you promote. Unfortunately this type of swing for my 71 year old body is too much to handle (as I hurt my back trying it) and I will have to stay with my more conventional swing. Cheers.

    • @jchowngolf
      @jchowngolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Robert. A freely rotational swing in the downswing will be easier on the back, an old conventional swing requires compromising your spine/pivot in order to function which will cause problems down the line

    • @AtEboli
      @AtEboli 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jchowngolf I agree- as a 61 year old, I find the rotation swing has added distance while not requiring any more muscle strength. And it does seem easier on the body, for the most part.

    I’m hitting dead straight shots into the net with the preset rotation drill, but how much distance can I expect to lose when I take it to the course? That is, can I expect to hit it 80% as far as a full swing? 50%?

  • @andrepark78
    @andrepark78 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I try to keep a very flat left wrist at top. However, you're saying to keep face square or slightly closed. A) I thought keeping face slightly open , rotation would close face.
    B) when club and hands are at 9 o'clock. Left hand faces target line? Then take it to top. How do you keep flat left wrist?
    Rotate hands? I'm bit confused. Thanks.

    • @jchowngolf
      @jchowngolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A more rotational downswing will be easier on the back as there will be less jar on the spine due to a lack stalling out to in order to release the hands.
