Getting my hands behind me was a miracle today at the driving range - I've looked at dozens of TH-cam videos about improving contact and eliminating slices without effect. But your advice is spot on - I can't wait for my next round of golf to try your "hands back" method of hitting better shots. Thanks!

This lesson has been extremely helpful, I never realized that my steep swing plane was the caused of so many inconsistencies. I've made adjustments, and have hit over 100 balls with a flatter swing plane- so much better. Thank you!!

Jonathan Chown - You have DRAMATICALLY improved my golf game and golf swing. I have tons more confidence in understanding and analyzing the mis-hit balls in my game, and how exactly to make permanent corrections. I truly appreciate your teaching approach as it engrains muscle memory through deep comprehension and awareness. I can’t thank you enough - you’re a terrific golf instructor. Please (PLEASE) keep the videos coming!

Yep, another good one J... I've been emulating Harris English's pre-shot routine during which he holds the bicep of his lead arm and gently turns through. Helps keep my arm close to the chest, as your vid advocates. Or something like that.

You did a great job explaining and demonstrating! Very much in line with what I have learned from George Gankas and have only seen improvement every aspect since I started to focus on this, leaving the hands/arms at the top and letting things just follow where I rotate to.

Hello, JC thank you for your video
Another thing that has helped me is I notice that on the top of your backswing your weight is more on your trail leg and you are not keeping your right knee flexed
So I start my downswing with a push of my right knee towards the ball
This has improved my strike radically getting more distance and accuracy
Do you think I'm on the right track

Great content once again. If I can't get my hands to my heels on the backswing with correct rotatory technique, because of poor flexibility, should I give up the game. Ha Ha Thanks!

Thanks Michael! If you’re mobility is hindering your depth, lift your lead heel as you’re turning back in the backswing, the depth will become easier with a freer turn 👍🏼

11:10 Proper Sequence in the downswing. This is the golden transition disassociation move. I can’t get enough of this. Any vids on this specifically?
Once you get past the over the top move you brilliantly illustrate here, this is the hardest thing. We all want to hit at the ball with our arms/hands. Using the lower body to move the club but keeping the chest passive or over the ball is the beginning of great golf. As many pros and great players say, the key is using lower body rotation and not hitting, or “forgetting” about the arms. The club moves in transition but your chest or body “stays behind”, or “stays in place” or “stays in your setup spine angle”. Easy to say, hard to do. As long as the arms are “activated” or in “hit mode” and are the focus of your swing, you’re done. This is actually the cause of the over the top move as well no? I could go on lol. I am getting much better at this, but point me to any of your commentary on this specifically. I’ve used the “impact position drill” and that is helpful, but anything else short of shooting Botox in the arm muscles? Appreciate it. Love your channel.

Absolutely...took me a decade to figure this out, turn and turn, forget the arms and the sequencing just happens but it is incredibly difficult to get the feel for it, but ince you do its like a light bulb, I'm playing off a 5 right now mostly cause I can't putt or chip to save my life

PS Jim’s swing is all about keeping the chest over the ball and a shallow swing path.

Watching this makes me think how hard a golf swing is, just so much to organise and yet not think about at the same time. Think I'm going to try De La Torres and just swing the clubs 🤣

A good video. A good way of utilizing this is by using the left shoulder. Down in the backswing aided by the upper arms (making sure the swing is around and not too steep. The down swing should be initiated by raising the left shoulder. By doing this your hips and torso move in the correct manner automatically. No over the top move. Concentrate on the left should (upper left part of the chest) This is the golf secret by Dr H A Murray. It works

  • @mikehoffman3142
    @mikehoffman3142 ปีที่แล้ว

I know you over accent to give a good visual, but when you hit the ball your downswing path is only maybe 1/2 to an 1 inch below the path of your backswing. When you give the visual you dump the head of the club below by 8 to 12 inches. This has been a problem for me - dumping the clubhead to far below the path and then flipping, fatting, skulling, etc. especially on chips.

When you use the word "rotate" it screws up so many amateur golfers. If they would just focus on posting up on the left leg (for right handers) in the downswing, they would have much more success. The "rotation" happens with the upper body rotating around to the right of the posted left leg.
