Every time I go elsewhere, I always come back to you Paul. The pain free rotation is what everyone needs to do. If people thought about this & proper alignment, us amateurs would forever love the game. Stay well!
Glad you're back. I would suggest not going elsewhere. You are not going to find it. Playing in pain can't be fun. It's really caused because of hitting hard. So yes, the rotation is key. This gets you using your body. If you never learn how to use your body you will always use your arms. So try to turn the arms off ... forever.
You made me realize I've been a steep swinger my entire golfing life. This tip has totally changed my game. Thank you Paul. I've learned more about the golf swing from you than any of the in person lessons I've ever had. No instructor has ever mentioned this swing tip
Yeah that steep swing is tricky. Think more rotational. You need to watch this one I just posted then it should be crystal clear why you don't want to be too steep: th-cam.com/video/TmjVMTzGRrU/w-d-xo.html Glad you found me and are doing well. Keep at it. Yeah, seems a lot of teachers want you more tilted. Are you already on a tilt though?
Paul I have to say, I played 18 today and every tee shot was 230+ in play, grip, release the hinge, swing in a arc with body power, Thank You, Thank You! Now I’m 15 yards from the cup in 2 and get a 6! Putt, chip next!
Just sometimes the ball will go higher then I would like and not far. Most times at range it was straight and good height nd distance. Why does it sometimes go too high
Great video and instruction. I have always moved my lead shoulder down and under. I have been doing that with your swing with limited success until you showed the difference in the two here. Light went off. Look forward to putting this to practice. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Just do it a different way and see what happens. I know a lot of people are trying to go down with the shoulder. I've tried it. It is tricky and unnecessary. Watch these too: th-cam.com/video/5vq92sBQyU4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/TmjVMTzGRrU/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/EDlwfq_ZBvE/w-d-xo.html
This dude has figured out the perfect everyday swing for everyone. I shot 74 today with three 3 putt greens thanks to Paul's simple concepts. I am 74. The only downside is my buddies can't understand how am bombing it by them all of a sudden. Thank you Paul.
Glad you see it. This is simple and highly effective. People just have to try it. Doesn't take much. I love it when buddies are left scratching their heads. Too funny.
Not only does he know the technical aspects of golf but his teaching methods including repeating his instructions is great. He tells you what he is going to tell you, then tells you and then finishes by telling you what he told you. Excellent teacher
Ahhhh, instead of bashing me for repeating myself you actually get what I am doing. Wow. Miracles do happen. It's great when someone is on the page. Thanks for recognizing what I am doing.
I am a retired professor in the College of Education, University of Kentucky. In addition to my doctorate degree I have an MA in Adult Education so I feel confident in being able to state that "I know how adults learn." Your teaching style is perfect for the adult learner and while I could give you all the reasons why, space will not permit. I enjoy your lessons immensely.
This is a good one for sure. Never swing a heavy club. If anything flip it upside down so it's light. Here's why: th-cam.com/video/0_vR8U_KrhY/w-d-xo.html golf starts at 4:30 of this video but watch the whole thing.
The beauty lies in realising and experiencing how long and accurate one can hit with this technique. You had shared with me 3 videos to overcome over the top. I am now hitting almost 30 to 40 yards longer. All thanks to your extremely effective videos Paul..happy to share with you that I play to 16 handicap but for first time I played 10 over yesterday. Thanks once again.
Great to hear! Get off that back foot and the body starts moving. Get that and it's a whole new world. Use the body with super loose wrists and it another even better new world.
Paul, I have been watching your videos for a while now and I have been putting into practice what you teach. I just wanted to say THANK YOU because yesterday was the FIRST round I have played in many years where I didn't end up with backache after 18 holes.
Fantastic! So glad you stuck with it. Now you are getting the payoff and it will be for life. Can't be much fun playing in pain. Stay focused and be careful not to go back to your old swing.
Hi Paul, this is your second best tip after your golf grip, this made me understand the following: 1. Lag 2. Staying behind the ball 3. Using your legs, well done, I think that your swing is being followed by the majority of the LPGA players, they all relay on a powerless swing
Thank you for teaching an effortless swing through the rotation of our body. This will assure us golfers long live playing and loving this marvelous sport!
Hey Paul, I’ve been working on getting your swing technique down for the last month or so. The trouble I was having was trying to get my lower body to start the down swing and swinging with my arms. I was hitting the driver about 200 yards ( like you said ) and finally the last few rounds I getting around 250 with the roll ! Shot an 82 the other day, lowest score ever for me. Thanks Bill Watkins.
Good stuff. You stuck with it and you are starting to get the payoff. Some people get some things quick while it takes longer for others. It is a lot of understanding and doing things a little different. Make sure you remember this: th-cam.com/video/cNhIyhi136E/w-d-xo.html
Paul, I just can't thank you enough for all the amazing tips. I think the one which helped me the most was the tip on where you suggested to not worry about hitting the ball. I used to hit the ball long and straight in the range and then in the course hit it all over the place trying too hard. My scores have improved and most importantly, I have started enjoying my game.
Very good. Yes, it is taking your mind off of hitting. This is not natural so you have to be very aware of it on every shot. I still think of this and I have done for years. Keep up the good work.
Paul has given me back my 3 wood! I haven’t carried my 3 wood the last 3 or 4 years because I was so frustrated trying to hit it. Well this rotational body swing is exactly what I needed! I have my 3 wood back and have already hit a couple of par 5s in 2 since I adopted Paul’s method!!
This was a terrific tip. I watched your video and went to the range hitting a medium bucket of balls. My swing became much freer and the contact was much better. I then came home and practiced looking in a sliding glass door. I've struggled with a head that is too still and occasionally move forward of the ball.
Do you have a video about a stretching routine in the am that would help me after I wake. I am 70 now and my right side lats from my shoulder blade to belt are stiff and sore. Any ideas?
I don't have one because I am not a flexibility expert. I do recommend following my friend Roger Fredericks for stretching. He has worked with Jack, Arnie and Gary Player to name a few. I sell his best selling video series on my site here: www.paulwilsongolf.com/site/products Just scroll down the page. Or you can visit Roger's site here: fredericksgolf.com
I watch your videos n tips, it was a very good experience and so easy to understand and effective. I like it and it works terrific for me and I enjoy more on golf on your advice n its practical .
It is if your body tells your arms how fast to swing. Keep watching my videos and you will get it. This is a big one: th-cam.com/video/fuOJxv_22Hk/w-d-xo.html That will tell you why.
This is a huge reason to use this type of swing over the twisted pretzel methods being taught elsewhere. I refuse to put my back through that kind of torture. The Mike Austin swing comes to mind but there are a lot of other instructors who advocate that twisted spine with steep shoulders and I just can't justify doing that to my back anymore (yes, i did it). So this is great example of how this method is back friendly. Finally, that demo of the standing up and swinging proves how ridiculous that twisted pretzel method really is. Thanks for that simple stand up demo contrasting the two motions.
Paul, you are really inspiring to watch and fun too with your comments about wrecking the ball etc. really enjoying your drills and learning a lot... great stuff....!! Amazing to see how effortless you play golf ...(no, I didnt say hit the ball :-))
I read that book years ago. I have also fixed tons of people who were doing that swing and not quite getting it. I find that swing takes a lot of work and it is tough to do it on your own. Not that it can't work but it has to be done right. I prefer a two plane swing because the best players of all time did this type of swing.
Great tip, as always Paul. Would you also have tips for other strokes - pitching, putting, how to make the distance to which you want the ball to go exactly etc.
Glad you liked it. Thanks. I don't have a ton of short game tips posted. It's a fine line with what I give away. I have a membership site where people pay for access so it's not really fair to them if I give everything away. Plus, I do a short game tip and no one watches it (crazy). Another awesome tip i been playing good since you been my coach i just won A club tournment again today.I told everyone to watch you if they want to be a better ball striker.i know if i let my left heel come up seems to me to help my weight transfer every time now. I drive a par 4 today them guys went wild
not sure what happen today i not been having any wrist problem to i went today i may have slept on it last night i just know i havent had any pain problems since watching you as a coach
i do the steep swing when i need to carry over 100 feet oak trees with a fade in the ball... i do the rotational swing when i just need to go straight an long down the middle with some roll out
I tried your practice swing, i follow you every so often, I discovered that when i do this correctly mu lower body go towards the target and my upper body go away from the target which in turn gives me a great coil. It worked today. we shall see tomorrow
I’m amazed at someone actually giving this a thumbs down.. these videos and tips are Gold. I actually go out and practice these and look forward to all of them. I own the body swing course and review it often..thanks Paul.
Hi Paul. It has taken me ages to gain the confidence to use your swing in competition, where the great temptation is to revert to a 'hit the ball' swing. I do find, though, that I revert to 'hit the ball' with wedge/9-iron/8-iron. Could you please do a tutorial on the 60-100 yard shot?
Just got to trust that using your body is going to work. It's just a different power source. For shorter shots trigger your downswing like this: th-cam.com/video/BZD0_jPL8ks/w-d-xo.html
Thx for all the tips i just won another tournment at the country club this weekend i think they put me in the local paper...A lot of people was there everyone says im the most improved player at the club..i said its cause of the in depth teaching of Paul Wilson on youtub thx for helping
I lost playing dog fight today only too a guy in the PGA school i missed 4 foot putt for birdie last whole it hit old divit kicked ball to right caused me to miss it he made his birdie..He was like since i been gone you have got good hahahahahaha i drive 2 par 4's he said that monster with wind in your face an looks like you not even swinging hard..i said what Paul teaches effortless golf swing lol
i told you my new coach {credit yours} i was giving this a real go see if it really helps.. the single plane made me worse its just not for me i gave it a real go..oh i changed my name this what guys call me hahahahaha
Hi Paul, How does the shoulder angle change if you were hitting a much shorter club such as pitching wedge? Would it still be as much around and around or would there more of an up and down angle? BTW, thanks for the great content, I am am 62 years young and still trying to improve!
Of course the shoulder angle would change with shorter clubs but you need to be careful not to bend over too much. This is why I tell people to set up taller with longer clubs (not too tall though). The taller the person is the more they bend over. In doing do the shoulders now see saw instead of rotate. This is why a lot of taller people end up shanking it. If you watch my shank sure and read the hundreds of shankers I have fixed you will see that most of them say they are taller and started shanking it. th-cam.com/video/m9kj0548rYw/w-d-xo.html So I would say as you hit an 8 iron or less make sure you are not bending over too much. The way to check is that you cannot clearly see your toes at set up. Peripheral is fine but if you clearly see your toes you are too low.
A teaching problem most golfers including myself have experienced to do a rotational swing is turning back the shoulders and hips too steeply behind the head and neck to prevent moving off the ball. I found your instruction to feel that the shoulders remain level in the backswing with the weight of the club setting up the top of the backswing works to power the lower body to spring back and release the arms in the downswing. It seems most of the PGA instruction favors a more vertical swing.
Well, level is a great thought but no reality as you are tilted to the ball. So yes, think like this instead of down with the left shoulder. Yeah, people want to teach this new tilted swing. Let me see ... is that swing dominating the tour ... no. If it was dominating I may be teaching it but it isn't and never will. See who #1 is right now? Old school Sheffler. See who won the PGA? Old school Thomas. At some point is should become clear to these people what swing need to be taught. Another funny thing is they all admire Hogan. His set up was almost vertical and shoulders almost level as he went back. Truly mind boggling what's out there. Glad you found me and are trying it. Stay focused and you will be hitting it amazingly well in no time. Plus, it will never hurt your body.
Your swing is a lateral movement horizontally to right 4-5 inches on the backswing and then back to left & up on the follow thru about the same distance?
No. You are coining into the backswing. Your head will move 3-5 inches as you do this. In transition your head will move forward a tiny bit initially then goes back in the down and through swing to 3/4 through then your head moves forward into the follow through.
Excellent. I'm in my 60s with lower back stiffness, this is what I've been doing for a couple of years instinctively just to loosen up and develop some rhythm in my swing. Thanks for defining that for me a little, can't wait to play a round with that thought in my mind.
Glad you liked it. You should never be in pain when you swing. If you are you are doing it wrong. Sounds like you are figuring it out. Just keep rotational, turn your arms off and power it with your body. Do that and you will have a swing for life.
Thanks. Schools will start up again in April. I don't have my dates approved yet but should have them shortly. You can contact us on my site here paulwilsongolf.com
Love this drill ! I was having trouble not topping my 5 wood (actually a problem for irons too) and when playing, I did this swing above ground with my 5 wood and then hit the ball. I found that overall I topped it less if I did this swing above ground first. So, I am wondering, when playing, would you recommend doing this swing above ground as my practice swing with other clubs too instead of a practice swing that makes contact with the ground ?
Thanks. Yes, you can do this drill with other clubs too. I would also watch this one for fairway woods. th-cam.com/video/pjOXHIWU8ps/w-d-xo.html Here is another drill to loosen you up: th-cam.com/video/bCuIUE8iA70/w-d-xo.html
Paul, I had some golf instruction about 2 years ago and I was advised, as a righty, to take my left shoulder to my right toe in the back swing, which would would be the steep shoulder plane you advise against. Can you comment on what the pros do typically with regard to their shoulder plane? The advantage of a flatter shoulder plane is no back pain perhaps, what are the advantages of a steeper shoulder plane?
Well you are tilted at set up. Why tilt more as you go back? As you said this over tilt can hurt your back. I plan for the future. I want people to do a swing that will last a lifetime. So what I am watching for is how many of these tilted players get injured and how long can they keep swinging like that. So I don't like the steeper plane and see no advantage of doing it. I have tried it and it hurts my back and it's real easy for me to send it over the top. So I would avoid it.
Hi Paul Jack again you said in the rotational swing you can move your head 3 to 5 inches I thought you should never your head in the backswing also it looks like you're transferring your weight with the right foot up should I concentrate on that and on the downswing should you move your weight first kindly advise thanks Jack
Why would you not move your head. You play any other sport with your head moving. Pros move their head so to build the 2 axis in your swing you need to move it a little. Once you do, you will have so much more power. th-cam.com/video/teohdzCREf0/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/EDlwfq_ZBvE/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/5vq92sBQyU4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/_ji_zykZlY8/w-d-xo.html I talk about it in all of those tips.
Hi Paul, greets form Germany. Your Videos are great! Would you please make a Video to Pitch and Chip with your technical ideas for a relaxed swing? That would be fantastic.
Hello. I have a big following in Germany. I will be doing more videos into the future once the season gets started. I do have over 100 short game tips on my membership site here: ignitiongolf.com
I keep pulling some shots to the left, with a quick hook or draw. It normally happens with the driver. But sometimes it happens with iron shots. I changed my weak grip to a strong one a few weeks ago, maybe its to strong?
Yes, it is too strong. You cannot have loose wrists with a strong grip. If so, you will hook everything. Follow the grip here: th-cam.com/video/jQZLp8bF-Ww/w-d-xo.html
HI Paul, I get the concept of letting the body do the work but is there somewhat of a release point on your down stroke where you just letting the club follow the path of the arc? Not sure how else to word this question.lol
Yep, watch these first: th-cam.com/video/gJOq_LO6oRg/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/EDlwfq_ZBvE/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/_ji_zykZlY8/w-d-xo.html You can work on this too: th-cam.com/video/X_pF7x-OCXU/w-d-xo.html
Paul, is it ok to cross the line at the top (ala Freddy Couples). I do the rotational swing, but at the top I am usually across the line at the top. I've heard other instructors say this is wrong because you have to reroute the club on the way down.
I am fine with it crossing a little. I have experimented with this and like doing it myself. This is especially true for those who lay it off. Crossing the line is a stronger, better position. Just don't cross too much. This is very tricky to fix too. You could spend a lifetime trying to fix it instead of just going with it.
how do you do your prep before you hit the ball while playing are do you just hit the ball? seems to help me to practice swing back behind the ball when i get at the ball i found its better to just step up an hit the ball for me
I do 2 practice swings. I get a thought or a feeling or two in my mind. I go through my set up routine and hit it. I will do a tip on set up routine at some point.
@@paulwilsongolf thank you i think i need a routine i keep loosing a couple shots around killing my par round golf.while i wait my turn i do the drill to get loose feeling turning the club over that helped speed up this new swing process i think
Hey Paul I know you get alot of requests and I suppose I have been a little demanding of late but in any chance of having you back out on course and seeing them lovely shots finding fairways and greens . .
Hopefully this isn't a question too complicated for a reply. I followed your body swing method to change my swing, and it's worked great- BUT, I have trouble controlling my wedges in my short game. I use single-length irons, and I know you've reviewed them. I find that with short shots around the green, I struggle with executing a partial swing of the one you taught me. Is there a key to hitting partial swing shots using the same consistent method? I'm finding my easy swing around the green tends to lead to fat shots. I understand that, per your approach, you'd say I'm swinging with my arms, which might be true! How to do I cut down shots, with long wedges, and maintain control?
@@paulwilsongolf Thanks! That confirms my thoughts on the long wedges; I was willing to accept the possibility that I'm just not a good player and the entire issue was my ability!
I am about to take some lessons after a long break and a few DR sessions. However, in a first video feedback on my swing the pro emphasized I need to have much steeper shoulders, so exactly what you don‘t teach. Actually all pros teach the one swing. So I’m uncertain. Do you deem it possible that a pro can still help me? I doubt that I can improve on my own (HC19, 57, playing since 18 months in total). Your advice would be highly appreciated! Thank you. Peter
You're shoulders may have needed to be steeper I'm not sure in which case they pro getting them steeper was a good thing. I like the person to not clearly see their toes at the top of the backswing. So take it to the top. Bend too much and see your toes then start lifting up until you don't see your toes. This is the tilt I teach.
Just sitting here waiting for questions to come in. Well, not really. I am online working on stuff so if I see questions I answer pretty quick. Glad to help.
Hey Paul I struggle with a steep swing and I’ve been trying this drill but it’s not working . I just can’t seem to swing the club around the body . It’s very vertical swing . Should I try to do this drill each day ?
Well it is new and different and you are not good at it. So repeating it will get you used to it. Tee it up as you try it. Plus, the key is moving your head. Keep it still and you will never get it. th-cam.com/video/5vq92sBQyU4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/TmjVMTzGRrU/w-d-xo.html
He has good stuff and knows his stiff. He was on a roll there last season. My buddy took a lesson from him and tried it and even I tried it. It is a little tricky to do on your own. I would suggest in person lessons with him. Not necessarily a swing for older students who are typically who I teach.
Paul, when you start your downswing, do you use your wrist strength at all to power the swing or do you just let them hinge naturally without any effort to help square the club?
I am not hitting or helping the shot with the arms. At first you may have to work on this if your wrists are too tight. I have done it a long time so mine are loose. Just hinge and rehinge until you don't put slice spin on it and they feel looser. That would be good.
Really Been working on the rotation. However I feel a bit rigid. I used to use my arms a lot. Now I’m trying to stay connected. However finding I lack rhythm and fluidity
Well it takes a bit of practice. You are learning a whole new power source. At least you are thinking about it and trying to do it. Just search more of my body of hips tips. Go here and type it in the search box: www.youtube.com/@paulwilsongolf/videos
Hi Paul. Love your channel and all its content. When swinging and learning hinging and unhinging, i always hit the ball so pure that i feel like im hitting a ping pong ball BUT my ball literally goes 60 degrees to the left and sometimes to the right. I saw some videos on other channels where they advise to stick the bicep to the chest and when I tried a drill where I kept a towel tucked under my armpits I kind of got it straight but did not feel effortless. Therefore my question is, what is the path of the club when I am unhunging and hinging? Is it across my chest, like im sweeping a broom.?? Input and advice appreciated. Again, thank you!
Left as in straight left off the face, hooked left or left because the round ball hit the round hosel which sent it left? 60 degrees left is a serious problem so you are doing something seriously wrong. Let me know which of the above problems it is? straight left off the face = you tilted left in the downswing hooked left = you rolling the clubface closed too early at impact round ball hit the round hosel = you standing up at impact
Yep. I have said that in previous tips. I do not keep mine straight nor do I want to. What is important is if it is straight at impact. th-cam.com/video/5_O0H2QNFo0/w-d-xo.html
Hello Paul, i have been watching more and more of your videos on the recommendation of a golf partner (see, your request for sharing works!😃) and I like your drills. I need your help. My problem is a lack of rotation, I do not turn my hips and body enough and ahead of hitting the ball, with the result that I lose distance by hitting more with my arms and I do the chicken wing. Could you please direct me to the drills which you would recommended to get me to rotate more and get the timing right? Thanks a lot. Maurice
Thanks for your promo to others. I appreciate it. The goal is to make everyone stop hitting with their arms. Just imagine that world. What you need to do is start with the neutral grip. Once you have that you are constantly hinging and rehinging your wrists. Here: Grip: th-cam.com/video/jQZLp8bF-Ww/w-d-xo.html Hinge Rehinge: th-cam.com/video/6ZeTqcz2pmE/w-d-xo.html Secure Grip: th-cam.com/video/Z8K3Gctkz7A/w-d-xo.html The objective would be to rehinge and eliminate any slice spin. That is step 1. Get this and your arm unit is now working. At this point you are working on body rotation to straight it out. You coil and uncoil. This is how simple it is but everyone want everything too fast and they make it too complicated. Keep it simpe. Arm unit and body. That is it. Here are the hips drills: th-cam.com/video/bhuWpD-1hvg/w-d-xo.html Chicken wing here: th-cam.com/video/DkD29OArc88/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/7o65z_pd28s/w-d-xo.html
The arm is certainly tucking. This would occur if you are not hitting with the arms and turning your body first. So I would be doing it that way first. If it is still not tucking then manually tuck it until you get used to it.
Hi Paul, I’m working on this method, but when i hit the ball it feels like I’m hitting it fat as it rings through my hands. The ball flys straight , but not far and it doesn’t feel good , mostly happens with my irons.
I played the other day and it was not good. Then I went to the range and figured out it was the way I was rotating in my backswing. I went to range and was able to hit it much straighter and witho istance
Hey Paul. Working on starting the downswing with my lower body (legs and hips), and keeping my wrists loose, but hit most fairway shots thin. Am I breaking my wrists too soon?? Can’t seem to take a divot and very inconsistent with fairway woods. Usually top them or hit them very low. Help!!!!!! 😁
Sounds like you are trying to see these amazing results you think you are going to hit. Look too soon and ouch. Watch: th-cam.com/video/wQgWZMLgC1Y/w-d-xo.html also: th-cam.com/video/_ji_zykZlY8/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/pjOXHIWU8ps/w-d-xo.html
It’s taking a lot of swings for me to get that effortless feeling, I’m not going to stop until I perfect it, I think I can, I think I can, yes I know I can and it don’t come from sitting around. The body is changing every day so we don’t know how we’re going get through it, but we can stay ahead of it a little to get over that bump in front of us. It’s easy to lose the mood when your not doing it right, that’s why good practice makes perfect, we’re just learning our own bodies after all. Golf is fun to learn. Love to live, Live to golf !🏌️
Just tell yourself not to hit hard. If you completely stopped hitting with the arms you would have to find another power source (legs and hips). People want to hit. This is natural. I want you to not hit. So you are going against human nature. Just keep it simple and stay focused. If you hit shots thin, topped, slice spin you are hitting so immediately go back to 50% swing level and build it back up with the legs and hips.
You need to watch this: th-cam.com/video/Z8K3Gctkz7A/w-d-xo.html And: th-cam.com/video/YwniNAXFMd0/w-d-xo.html (it is a long tip. We talk about the pressure withing the first half)
So try to turn the arms off ... forever.
@@paulwilsongolf Yes, I agree 100% - Thanks Paul!
As the irons get shorter. How do I get them down with this swing.
Simple and clear explanation of correct body rotation in golf swing . Well done 👍
Glad you liked it. This is such a simple way to swing as opposed to being all tilted.
@@paulwilsongolf I do tilt but I learned from another tip of yours that I was coming out of it
Best video I have watched and I have watched a lot. I like the simplicity in how you teach. Powerful long-lasting swing. Thanks Paul!
Thanks so much. This is an easy way to get the (longer) clubs swinging around. Keep at it.
Paul I have to say, I played 18 today and every tee shot was 230+ in play, grip, release the hinge, swing in a arc with body power, Thank You, Thank You! Now I’m 15 yards from the cup in 2 and get a 6! Putt, chip next!
Very good. You are starting to see the results. Doesn't take long. Just need to do it a little differently. Keep at it. Stick to achievable goals.

Watch these too:

Paul...one of your best ones. Good quick warmup before a round using a weight on a club or holding 2 clubs.
This is a good one for sure. Never swing a heavy club. If anything flip it upside down so it's light. Here's why:
th-cam.com/video/0_vR8U_KrhY/w-d-xo.html golf starts at 4:30 of this video but watch the whole thing.
Wow...never too old to learn something new.

Paul is a genius...each time and everytime I fault with my swing..his videos style are a saviour
Thanks so much. I just see it differently. I can usually fix people in minutes.
Thank you Paul. Your videos are uncomplicated and very helpful. My gratitude. Thank you once again and regards.
You are very welcome. Simple is the key for sure.
That's great and exciting. Now you know you can do it. The increase in yardage will be huge for you. Keep at it.
Always watch your video before my game and it helps😊
Happy to hear that! Reminders are good.
Feel the heel has been monumental in improving for me. Incredible difference. Thank you Paul 🙏🇺🇸
@@paulwilsongolf Thank you Sir. You have given the game back to me.

Hi Paul, this is your second best tip after your golf grip, this made me understand the following: 1. Lag 2. Staying behind the ball 3. Using your legs, well done, I think that your swing is being followed by the majority of the LPGA players, they all relay on a powerless swing
Glad to help. Yes they are perfect models for it.
Thank you for teaching an effortless swing through the rotation of our body. This will assure us golfers long live playing and loving this marvelous sport!
Very welcome. Yes, people should be able to swing for a lifetime.
These videos help me tremendously! I still have my mistakes but now i no what im doing wrong. Thankyou Paul Wilson these videos are the best.
Thanks so much. Need to know how to fix your own swing for sure.
Glad you liked it. That still head is a killer. Amazing that this is still being taught. Once you move it you will feel so much more power.
This is super awesome, thank you so much, I changed my golf swing without losing distance and have pain free golf swing
Great to hear! So glad to help. Not fun playing in pain that's for sure.
Best coach ever. I think I have watched every video. Thank you.
Wow, thank you!

You make it look so effortless.
Not fun playing in pain. That's for sure. I have tried other methods and they kill my back. This way never does.
Paul, you are really inspiring to watch and fun too with your comments about wrecking the ball etc. really enjoying your drills and learning a lot... great stuff....!! Amazing to see how effortless you play golf ...(no, I didnt say hit the ball :-))

Yet again a tip that I knew I needed when the wheels came off again yesterday. Thanks, you are great at this.
Glad to help. Stay focused out there. If you lose it immediately go to 50%,
@@paulwilsongolf So true.
I am reading Jim Hardy's book the plane truth, two plane swing. And your instruction is really helpful to understand that two plane swing system.
I read that book years ago. I have also fixed tons of people who were doing that swing and not quite getting it. I find that swing takes a lot of work and it is tough to do it on your own. Not that it can't work but it has to be done right. I prefer a two plane swing because the best players of all time did this type of swing.
One of the best drills, I am on your track.
Thanks so much. This gives you the feeling for sure. Stops this dipping up and down move.
Great tip, as always Paul. Would you also have tips for other strokes - pitching, putting, how to make the distance to which you want the ball to go exactly etc.

Never know. Could have just tweaked it a little. If it persists then you may have an issue. Keep you eye on it.
That could work. I would just keep more weight on my back foot or open the face.

I tried your practice swing, i follow you every so often, I discovered that when i do this correctly mu lower body go towards the target and my upper body go away from the target which in turn gives me a great coil. It worked today. we shall see tomorrow
Glad you tried it and got some results. I would be following me more. If you do, you will hit it amazingly well.
Combined with hinge and unhinge awareness great for on course correction for hitting instead of swinging. Thank you

There are idiots out there. You can never get rid of them. I will just keep making people better and better. That is what matters.

Seems like it's working quite well. Next year is your year!
If you watch my shank sure and read the hundreds of shankers I have fixed you will see that most of them say they are taller and started shanking it. th-cam.com/video/m9kj0548rYw/w-d-xo.html
So I would say as you hit an 8 iron or less make sure you are not bending over too much.
Looks great I would like to come to a school that you put on
@@paulwilsongolf Thank you very much, that is a helpful reply.

@@paulwilsongolf thank you, I use to fade and push my drives, now they go straight or draw. Sometimes too much draw.
Great tip, much easier and much less stress on you body as you get older
So true! You definitely don't want to be in pain playing this game.
Paul, what pros (men, ladies, seniors) have a swing closest to the one you teach?
Anyone who looks effortless. I like Whee Kim and tons of Korean ladies.
HI Paul, I get the concept of letting the body do the work but is there somewhat of a release point on your down stroke where you just letting the club follow the path of the arc? Not sure how else to word this question.lol
Not sure what you mean but maybe this will explain it: th-cam.com/video/jjiXrGLkqj0/w-d-xo.html
How do guard against taking the club back too much to the inside is there a check point.S/J.
I am taking it back with my body not my hands. Just follow this to get the feel: th-cam.com/video/TFjh9dGkZXA/w-d-xo.html
As the irons get shorter how do I rotate them and still get them low enough to the ground
You need to bend over enough to get club on the ground and see the ball but don't clearly see your toes. That is too bent over.
I can feel this with the driver. But, when I switch to irons I feel like I need swing down more. My biggest swing fault is thin irons. Any thoughts?

@paulwilsongolf Great! Thank you
Paul, is it ok to cross the line at the top (ala Freddy Couples).
Hey Paul I know you get alot of requests and I suppose I have been a little demanding of late but in any chance of having you back out on course and seeing them lovely shots finding fairways and greens . .
I will do stuff out there. I just don't have time.
I just didn't like long wedges. You have not touch or feel with them. I would replace the gap, SW and LW with normal clubs.
@@paulwilsongolf I will do that. Thank you very much for your super fast reply. (You gave me some advice before, much appreciated). Peter

Keep it still and you will never get it.

th-cam.com/video/TmjVMTzGRrU/w-d-xo.html
Paul, what is your take on George Gankas' swing methods? It seems sort of complicated & complex to me.
Paul, can you show this with Irons...I have been using your tips for about 6 weeks and have definitely increased distance with the driver, Thank You
It is the same thing. Just give it a try. Glad you are seeing results.
Really
Been working on the rotation. However I feel a bit rigid. I used to use my arms a lot. Now I’m trying to stay connected. However finding I lack rhythm and fluidity

Let me know which of the above problems it is?
straight left off the face = you tilted left in the downswing
hooked left = you rolling the clubface closed too early at impact
round ball hit the round hosel = you standing up at impact
Is it okay if the lead breaks down a bit during the back swing. I tell ya, I have a hard time keeping it straight throughout the backswing. Ty
*lead arm

The objective would be to rehinge and eliminate any slice spin. That is step 1. Get this and your arm unit is now working. At this point you are working on body rotation to straight it out. You coil and uncoil. This is how simple it is but everyone want everything too fast and they make it too complicated. Keep it simpe. Arm unit and body. That is it.

How tight should you keep your right elbow to your body on the downswing?
The arm is certainly tucking. This would occur if you are not hitting with the arms and turning your body first. So I would be doing it that way first. If it is still not tucking then manually tuck it until you get used to it.
Hi Paul, I’m working on this method, but when i hit the ball it feels like I’m hitting it fat as it rings through my hands. The ball flys straight , but not far and it doesn’t feel good , mostly happens with my irons.

For driver or long iron clubs, it is easy but for short clubs, can we do the same?
Yes, it is the same but you are bent over more. So stand taller with shorter clubs.
Club is shorter, can still use this way to swing ?
Definitely. Stand tall with shorter clubs.
Paul Wilson Golf Today I use your way loosen up my arms and hit 3 wood very good. Thank you!
This could really help me get the tension out of my swing on the course.
Sure. Gets you feeling the swing for sure.
I played the other day and it was not good. Then I went to the range and figured out it was the way I was rotating in my backswing. I went to range and was able to hit it much straighter and witho istance
Very good. It's great when you can fix your own swing. You need to do it after 1 bad shot though.
Any tips on staying in posture through hitting ‘have trouble “coming out of posture”, thanks
You are coming out of it because you are trying to hit it too hard. Watch: th-cam.com/video/wQgWZMLgC1Y/w-d-xo.html
how do you hit your irons without bending over...
You are bending over. Not sure how you would think you aren't. This was a drill to get the feeling. Start high then lower.
In a 4ball team event last weekend competing at national quarter finals we had a saying,
"walk tall.... Like Paul".. We won.
Nice one. Glad you came up with a way to remember it.
I want to see a video of you playing a round.
I will do all of this over time.
Now I know what Hogan was saying with this drill, when he did it.
Didn't know he did this. Glad he did.
Paul Wilson should be top 10 instructor. Many frauds out there because of politics.
Well after I make hundreds of thousands of people play the best golf of their lives they will have no choice. I am just getting started.
👍
Thanks.
I’m regripping at the top….

(it is a long tip. We talk about the pressure withing the first half)
That once again my bra
This is the swing everyone should be doing. This bent over swing is going to kill backs. Glad you liked it.
