What's your favorite car in the game? There is so many iconic cars to pick from but I'd have to say the Lancia Delta S4. Turbocharged AND Supercharged, good for nearly 600 horsepower! And it weighed next to nothing too.
For anyone looking at picking this up for Christmas, i'll bother to comment on this older game: This game series has a well-earned reputation for making people RAGE. Not because of bugs, or clunky controls, or anything "meta," but just because it can be incredibly hard. There are features to encourage you NOT to "save-scrub" or spam the 'Restart' feature. You're supposed to ride it out; if that means that you lose your headlights in a night stage, and still have another whole stage to go before repairs - well, that's tough luck. If you're used to coming in first every time against AI - you're gonna have a bad time here. The idea isn't even to necessarily win the championship, let alone whole races. You're not expected to be the greatest racer of all time, you're expected to *usually* finish, and progress. Consistency is key, and if your "consistency" means that you finish most stages in 3rd place, then you just accept that and keep working forward. The dirt, gravel, and DLC snow is unforgiving. If you try a course once, enter the first hairpin at 45mph, throw the eBrake and slide the turn while missing the outside barrier by millimeters, it's no guarantee that you can repeat that experience consistently; the surface seems inconsistent from run to run, as it should be. This is part of that encouragement to not "save scrub" and restart all the time. Just because you *have* made the first stage of the course in 1:32:04, doesn't mean that you always will. If you restarted later on because you whacked a tree at pace, then you may have to settle for handling that first stage at 1:33:0 on subsequent runs. And that's where the rage comes in - good runs, ruined because of one minor driver error, or one call that you wish had come a little bit sooner, or one powerslide that got just a hair out of line and sent you into the ditch and wrecked your headlights. And when you're that invested, and that excited, that those setbacks spike your bloodpressure - that's how you know it's a good game
This is exactly what I needed to hear, I just bought a Logitech G923 for this game. I have had the game with all the DLC for almost a year and played it with a controller and it was fun. but it didn't feel right for me. so I decided to get a wheel and boy has it been hard. I almost put the wheel up for sale yesterday because I'm so frustrated that I'm not always in 1st or 2nd since I used to get 1st and second on the controller. The wheel makes it so immersive.
Not when it comes to racing gaming. The guy over at IGN (Luke Riley) is fantastic when if comes to his reviews for anything Motorsport. You should watch is Dirt Rally and Dirt Rally 2 reviews so see what I'm getting at.
I play on ps4 and enjoy no assists except auto gearbox (because I'm too lazy to press too many buttons), but yeah, go full tilt and think you have a great run yet a minute behind the leader? WTF? Do the assists really give you that much extra time? Me thinks not...
I thought i was good at Rally games until i played Dirt Rally. That game doesn't hold your hand and you get really punished for all the small mistakes you do. The worst part is i loved it :)
They are planning to release them as DLC, and repetitive tracks is kinda getting annoying, i hate snow tracks, but they should've put in the game, it's an obvious thing to do.

Love this game. It’s super immersive, it will have you sweating, it’s the kind of game that your mistakes have consequences. It’s just amazing. Yeah it’s difficult, but it’s sooo satisfying when you do well.
This is the first game in forever to scare the shit out of me. I was playing it for the first time with some pretty good headphones, and the combination of awesome sound design and realistic physics and sense of speed made me actually terrified to crash, and sure enough the first time I smacked into a tree at around 100mph, I nearly pissed my pants! Amazing game, 4.5/5
@@SpeedKing.. all motorsports are tough to do and the people who do them are all cool for doing there respective discipline and all disciplines are cool in they're own way can't put other motorsports against each other we gotta all lift each other up so everyone loves thrill of racing
it takes time. i restarted the career mode over 20+ times now 24 hours later i'm getting podiums. turn on braking off throttle, learn how to corner and control the throttle (entrance corner speed) and concentrate on the co driver and you'll improve

I still feel the best racing game for progression is the first Grid, the money, chance to buy supercars for cheaper via the in game used car sales which offer the best cars but they have a used feel and much more. I wish they did Grid 2 like this, I miss the proper seasons and that from that game.
If you want a hardcore racing game, hop in your Mazda, and just, YEET that wheel toward oncoming traffic. Bonus points if your hospital bill is under 200 grand

I just gave Dirt Rally a try, and I really did enjoy it with my friends, taking turns and trying out different tracks and cars. I don't usually play racing games, but love Rally titles because of the visuals, nature and that "wild" feel in general. I like to wander off from time to time, to "cruise" in nature, and take a break from WoW, Dota, CS and other stuff I like to play (mostly strategy and RPG titles). I also like having a game in which I don't necessarily need to invest a lot of time. I'm not interested in career mode in these types of games - just driving a bit for 20-30 mins from time to time. So, my question is, is Dirt Rally 2.0 good for casuals who would use that game in a way I just described?
@@xXMetalforever1994Xx can confirm, having the brake right at your finger tips is a huge advantage than having to move your finger from W to S every time you brake (I struggled alot with it, but apparently some people are better of like that?), also throttle control is way easier and shifting and the handbrake is much more accessible.

Same! I've been playing with a wheel, but have used a controller during the night and I'm really surprised how good it feels on both. I just wish Sweden wasn't DLC
One thing I like about Dirt Rally 2.0 is the RGT class where certain GT3/GT4 cars are made into rally cars. It's really interesting to see Mustang and Camaro rally cars along with the Porsche 997 911 rally car. I am also hoping they add some of the more obscure rally cars to Dirt Rally 2.0 such as the Mazda FB RX-7 rally car and also the Lancia 037 which is missing from the Group B class.
I loved the first Dirt Rally so much that I made my first preorder in like 5 years when I bought this a week ahead of time so I could have it loaded for launch day.
Dirt rally 2 is a very unique and fun game. Especially for actual car guys looking for something realistic. And the thing is if your thinking of not buying this game because you won't be able to keep up with the people on steering setups. I'm in the top five per ent of the world and I play on a rickity old controller
As a guy with the "the more simulation the better" attitude I'm really glad to hear more people understand that this is a game for more hardcore people and the racing is in focus not necessarily the amount of content. If you can have 20 cars that drives kinda bad/okay or one that is superb i would always chose the later of them two.

Challenge is a good seat, easy to store away. One tip if some of find the swing bar slight movement annoying; push the knob in, and push the swing bar further into the tube, then lower the swing bar. You will need to push the right side a bit forward, so that it can go into the locking mechanism. But be warned that while the slight movement may have been annoying before, it will be very annoying if following my tip.
I'm loving it so far on my g29 with th8a shifter and handbrake. cars definately feel a little ridiculous on tarmac, especially at low speeds. But on loose surfaces, its an absolute gem! Will be nice once they add in vr support and more surface types (i.e snow, icy tarmac). finally a rally game that gives the 15 year old Richard Burns Rally a run for its money!
@ Gameranx and crew thank you SO MUCH for shining the spot light on this game. This is something I plan on grabbing once it goes on some sort of sale, looks amazing and looks like they did a ton of content in the game without the pay to play micro transaction bullshit and I wanna support that.
Online only campaign mode is a huge turn off, they could shut down servers whenever they want and you won't be able to play the campaign again (at least without downloading hacks).
I’ve played a couple rally sims before. Alfa Romero or something. Really messed me up cuz I thought it was gonna be like Need for Speed or Midnight Club or Burnout. But once I got into the headspace of a rally sim, I got into it and the payoff was worth the effort. Got it on PlayStation Plus and looking forward to getting into it
I've got a full wheel setup with three pedals and an H-pattern shifter hooked to an Xbox One X. The physics off road is on point. Tarmac physics are just okay. Wheel force feedback is a step below games like Assetto Corsa or Forza Motorsport 7 but about as good as Project Cars 2. The difficulty of dirt rally 2.0 is right between the original dirt rally and dirt 4. The biggest improvements are the menus, graphics and sound, although I miss the music from Dirt 4.
The original was a damn good time on a wheel and pedal setup using the h pattern and no assists. I plan on picking this up on sale half off since people are saying the course count is lacking.
@@patrikkajari527 That was a problem with the first aswell. You do get good centering, but you wont feel bumps as well as you would expect from a AAA title. I assume they either cant do it because of engine limitations or they've just been too busy to fix

@@dustinjames1268 1 year too late to the party, but Patrik 100% meant "second to none" because this game has easily the best FF in any game, period. Short of what the PS5 is going to do with the new dualshock, this is the most immersive feature you will find with a decent wheel. You feel every texture from gravel, you feel wheels slipping, you feel the engine rattling or whining and you get very detailed feedback about where you were bumping your car. Both DRs are as AAA as it gets in just about every driving-related aspect. Also, hard disagree with the video on tarmac-naysayers, it behaves just like it should for the most part although some minor tuning might be required. I've never heard anyone actually formulate their criticism about it properly in all the time since its release, only "not how I expected it to feel" - which might be because most people don't know what it is like to actually enter corners at such a high speed that you're sliding even on asphalt. But again: FF is a blast in this game and, along with VR support, amazing audio, visuals and the core gameplay experience makes it as great as it is. So if anyone is reading this: put your dang money into it; it's a real racing adventure and no game will feel the same after playing this. The verticality alone is pretty dang amazing.

@@phlosen7854 Well DiRT Rally has native support for the Oculus Rift is why. It doesn't have native support for the HTC Vive. It's just how the developers programmed it.
Wow, is it really that much? I really love race and rally games, but I do not have a VR headset and haven't experienced it yet. And don't you need a hell of hardware for that? I mean, racing games are already demanding on a flat monitor. So with VR, it must be nuts, not? I have tried VR multiple times already with demos and little games like Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Smash Hit VR, Minecraft VR as well as Windows Mixed Reality. I find it really nice, but I never thought that I could never ever play these games in 2D again. Maybe it's because I have never played a real PC-like game on VR, only demos or mobile games that got ported to VR. Is a racing with VR fluid?
IronAperture you cannot believe how immersive that is. I use a wheel and the rift and it is awesome. You should have quite a powerful rig (GTX 1070 or better) because you want smooth gameplay. Otherwise it is nauseating as hell... In the beginning you might not be able to stomach longer sessions and you need a break every 30 min. But you can train your tolerance and then you won’t feel any nausea anymore. EDIT: i mostly use Project Cars 2 as sim at the Moment.
One year after: I really do enjoy this game but the DLCs are big OOF. 2€ for car and 4€ for a map wich is making it 120€ for every car and map. Like wtf codemasters?
The last hardcore rally game I played was WRC 6 and before that the old school Colin McRae games. Been playing Dirt 4 lately, as I'm really getting back into the racing genre as a whole. Might try this sucker out!
I just got tired of playing in circuits. So when I found rallying, I begged to god to get my hands on this game. So now, I got it. The difficulty is what makes it so fun because its so rewarding to finish the most brutal conditions.
The default co driver was a professional co driver ;) Sidenote on the crowds, turn that down to like low for a huge boost in areas with people. Nearly no difference in quality that you'll notice!
As someone who is very into the simulation type stuff and plays it with a wheel setup. Yeah this game doesn't feel great on tarmac but feels unbelievable off road. It might seem like there isn't much to do but for the people who are in to sim games it comes dow more to the selection of cars and tracks which dort rally 2.0 does cery well, and yes the over driving feel is always the most important part which this game also does well. If you've got a good wheel, pedals, shifter, handbrake with a frame to mount all that too you're in for a crazy experience to say the least.

Physics on gravel are an improvement - cars are now weightier, feel more natural, they don't fly off into the air on every bump. The behaviour of the car is very good and there are no complaints on the physics side on gravel. On tarmac - still, it's going to be skipped, as it's nothing compared to AC or even PCars2. What I'm disappointed, but it could be fixed with some updates is the following: 1. Force feedback, even with hacking and trying to fool the game with messing with config files, still doesn't deliver almost any information about road texture. 2. I cannot get the audio for stones and objects to be audible. In Dirt Rally it was fantastic and well heard, here it's somehow lacking. Again - maybe a future update will fix it. I use a 5.1 setup that's properly adjusted and configured. 3. You cannot choose whichever time and conditions you want to play the stage on. You either have it sunny midday or wet (fully soaked) at dusk. Would be cool to have more options, I would like to drive the stage midday wet if so I choose, but right now it's not possible. But overall, much more enjoyable than Dirt 4.

Been playing the original dirt rally in VR with a proper setup. I won't play this till it has psvr support. To do so without would be a step backwards for sure.
Warning to anyone that use a sim rig. The feel of the road/gravel surface is not the best right now, you don't really feel anything and it seems all the wheels have that problem. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

@@matulostyle The weight of the cars feel pretty good it's the road/gravel that's the problem. You don't really feel anything unless you crash into a tree or hit a jump. I Really hope they can fix it.
@@MRAutomaticjt I dont know, in my opinion thats not true. If you dont feel anything then you cant do weight transfer, so no powerslides etc. And with code masters for best powerslides you just need FWD and 0 skill :-) and you will get tons of those, easy XDDDD just think about it :-)

I've played every game of DiRT from Collin McRae Dirt to DiRT 4 and before I played them I did not know a thing about Rally, but now I dream of being a rally/rallycross driver. All the DiRT games are amazing
This game will ruin your appreciation for other racing games. You will pick them up and ask "why does it feel like im floating over the ground?", "why is there no feedback from the subtle bumps on the road as I drive over them?", "why is there no weight transfer or body sway as I turn?". If you play Dirt Rally 2.0 this tangible driving feeling will be ingrained in you. And it might be impossible for you to pick up a Need For Speed and appreciate it, because this game will spoil you with how spot on its driving physics are. Maybe a BeamNG might scratch that itch. But for majority of racing games, they do not reach this level of genuine realistic control, feedback and violent engagement that Dirt Rally 2.0 reaches. Just a flawless experience all around and after 150 hours of play time I wish it was a street sim so I could just enjoy the driving physics in a completely open uncontrolled space.
Rally is about stages and not knowing what's coming in front of you..DR 2.0 (like in DR) have only two "long" stages per country, and then pieces of it...after a couple of hours you know each corner!Shame on Codemaster and those who call this lazy effort a sim... Last but not least, you didnt even mention about the DLC for previous locations already in DR, that should be included in the standard game! (it's like the F1 2018 game included only France & Germany and you have to buy in a separate DLC Australia, Mónaco, Spa, etc) but we the costumers have what we deserve. Phisycs and graphics probably are ok, but it's pointless whit out long and diverse stages and locations. I like your reviews, but this is (or should be) a "Before you buy"..so i'm not agree whit this one.
@@krdjmtc Sorry I just read after a year haha I would prefer real life handmade stages of 10 to 20 kilometers (with today's satellite tools it should not be that difficult) ... and a stage generator would not be bad if it were right implemented (the one in Dirt 4 could have been much better). @@patotop100 Mate Phil literally recorded all the pace notes while getting tossed around in a g force simulation rig. He did three runs for each stage. The first was a slow, light throw around. The second was a bit more intense. The third was "fear for your life" mode. The faster and harder you drive, the higher intensity they use for each specific pace note. It's pretty spot on. If you go fast enough you can actually hear him lose his place in the notes a couple of times.

Surely even the most Half Baked Suits out there can see that launching an Online Only Game, in an Era when Gamers, sick and tired of having "Live Service" BS rammed down our Throats, have become Extremely Hostile to *any and all* Online Elements in our Games, and are now Boycotting Games that require Online Connectivity for anything except Dedicated Multiplayer, is little short of *Business Suicide* ? . I think even Corporate Commander would be able to see that one! As for it not being mentioned in Reviews, I have the Horrible feeling that the Publisher in Question, Possibly worried about Community Backlash, may Potentially not be allowing Reviewers to Mention that the Career is Online Only.

They are planning to release them as DLC, and repetitive tracks is kinda getting annoying, i hate snow tracks, but they should've put in the game, it's an obvious thing to do.

Love this game. It’s super immersive, it will have you sweating, it’s the kind of game that your mistakes have consequences. It’s just amazing. Yeah it’s difficult, but it’s sooo satisfying when you do well.

Just got it and a full sim a couple months ago, my favorite game to date.
This is the first game in forever to scare the shit out of me.
I was playing it for the first time with some pretty good headphones, and the combination of awesome sound design and realistic physics and sense of speed made me actually terrified to crash, and sure enough the first time I smacked into a tree at around 100mph, I nearly pissed my pants! Amazing game, 4.5/5
Rally cars are fucking awesome! The acceleration, the anti lag, the jumps they take! Rally drivers have big balls and are seriously skilled!

it takes time. i restarted the career mode over 20+ times now 24 hours later i'm getting podiums. turn on braking off throttle, learn how to corner and control the throttle (entrance corner speed) and concentrate on the co driver and you'll improve

I still feel the best racing game for progression is the first Grid, the money, chance to buy supercars for cheaper via the in game used car sales which offer the best cars but they have a used feel and much more.

I just gave Dirt Rally a try, and I really did enjoy it with my friends, taking turns and trying out different tracks and cars. I don't usually play racing games, but love Rally titles because of the visuals, nature and that "wild" feel in general. I like to wander off from time to time, to "cruise" in nature, and take a break from WoW, Dota, CS and other stuff I like to play (mostly strategy and RPG titles). I also like having a game in which I don't necessarily need to invest a lot of time. I'm not interested in career mode in these types of games - just driving a bit for 20-30 mins from time to time. So, my question is, is Dirt Rally 2.0 good for casuals who would use that game in a way I just described?

@@xXMetalforever1994Xx can confirm, having the brake right at your finger tips is a huge advantage than having to move your finger from W to S every time you brake (I struggled alot with it, but apparently some people are better of like that?), also throttle control is way easier and shifting and the handbrake is much more accessible.
Dirt Rally is by far my favorite racing game, and this one looks better! I'm super excited.

Can a PS4 player cross play with Xbox?
One thing I like about Dirt Rally 2.0 is the RGT class where certain GT3/GT4 cars are made into rally cars. It's really interesting to see Mustang and Camaro rally cars along with the Porsche 997 911 rally car. I am also hoping they add some of the more obscure rally cars to Dirt Rally 2.0 such as the Mazda FB RX-7 rally car and also the Lancia 037 which is missing from the Group B class.
I loved the first Dirt Rally so much that I made my first preorder in like 5 years when I bought this a week ahead of time so I could have it loaded for launch day.
Dirt rally 2 is a very unique and fun game. Especially for actual car guys looking for something realistic. And the thing is if your thinking of not buying this game because you won't be able to keep up with the people on steering setups. I'm in the top five per ent of the world and I play on a rickity old controller
Just get a steering wheel. Controller is fine but in wheel it is much harder
As a guy with the "the more simulation the better" attitude I'm really glad to hear more people understand that this is a game for more hardcore people and the racing is in focus not necessarily the amount of content. If you can have 20 cars that drives kinda bad/okay or one that is superb i would always chose the later of them two.

Challenge is a good seat, easy to store away. One tip if some of find the swing bar slight movement annoying; push the knob in, and push the swing bar further into the tube, then lower the swing bar. You will need to push the right side a bit forward, so that it can go into the locking mechanism. But be warned that while the slight movement may have been annoying before, it will be very annoying if following my tip.

I'm loving it so far on my g29 with th8a shifter and handbrake. cars definately feel a little ridiculous on tarmac, especially at low speeds. But on loose surfaces, its an absolute gem! Will be nice once they add in vr support and more surface types (i.e snow, icy tarmac). finally a rally game that gives the 15 year old Richard Burns Rally a run for its money!
I can’t wait to buy this. I’ve played the Dirt series before but not Dirt Rally so I’m excited to see how this differs.

Online only campaign mode is a huge turn off, they could shut down servers whenever they want and you won't be able to play the campaign again (at least without downloading hacks).
Their servers crash often and I would get connection failed few times in a row for the last few days I played this

I’ve played a couple rally sims before. Alfa Romero or something. Really messed me up cuz I thought it was gonna be like Need for Speed or Midnight Club or Burnout. But once I got into the headspace of a rally sim, I got into it and the payoff was worth the effort. Got it on PlayStation Plus and looking forward to getting into it
I've got a full wheel setup with three pedals and an H-pattern shifter hooked to an Xbox One X. The physics off road is on point. Tarmac physics are just okay. Wheel force feedback is a step below games like Assetto Corsa or Forza Motorsport 7 but about as good as Project Cars 2. The difficulty of dirt rally 2.0 is right between the original dirt rally and dirt 4. The biggest improvements are the menus, graphics and sound, although I miss the music from Dirt 4.
This reminds me of Top Gear Rally for the N64. I loved that game!
The original was a damn good time on a wheel and pedal setup using the h pattern and no assists. I plan on picking this up on sale half off since people are saying the course count is lacking.

That was a problem with the first aswell. You do get good centering, but you wont feel bumps as well as you would expect from a AAA title.
I assume they either cant do it because of engine limitations or they've just been too busy to fix

I had almost none with my Logitech G27 even after setting the game profiler to all strengths 125% and in game settings at default

@@dustinjames1268 1 year too late to the party, but Patrik 100% meant "second to none" because this game has easily the best FF in any game, period. Short of what the PS5 is going to do with the new dualshock, this is the most immersive feature you will find with a decent wheel. You feel every texture from gravel, you feel wheels slipping, you feel the engine rattling or whining and you get very detailed feedback about where you were bumping your car.
Both DRs are as AAA as it gets in just about every driving-related aspect. Also, hard disagree with the video on tarmac-naysayers, it behaves just like it should for the most part although some minor tuning might be required. I've never heard anyone actually formulate their criticism about it properly in all the time since its release, only "not how I expected it to feel" - which might be because most people don't know what it is like to actually enter corners at such a high speed that you're sliding even on asphalt.
But again: FF is a blast in this game and, along with VR support, amazing audio, visuals and the core gameplay experience makes it as great as it is. So if anyone is reading this: put your dang money into it; it's a real racing adventure and no game will feel the same after playing this. The verticality alone is pretty dang amazing.

I haven't been able to get DiRT Rally (The first one) Working with VR yet. Got Revive, but can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have an HTC VIve

@@phlosen7854 Well DiRT Rally has native support for the Oculus Rift is why. It doesn't have native support for the HTC Vive. It's just how the developers programmed it.
Wow, is it really that much? I really love race and rally games, but I do not have a VR headset and haven't experienced it yet.
And don't you need a hell of hardware for that? I mean, racing games are already demanding on a flat monitor. So with VR, it must be nuts, not?
I have tried VR multiple times already with demos and little games like Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Smash Hit VR, Minecraft VR as well as Windows Mixed Reality. I find it really nice, but I never thought that I could never ever play these games in 2D again.
Maybe it's because I have never played a real PC-like game on VR, only demos or mobile games that got ported to VR.

IronAperture you cannot believe how immersive that is. I use a wheel and the rift and it is awesome. You should have quite a powerful rig (GTX 1070 or better) because you want smooth gameplay. Otherwise it is nauseating as hell...
In the beginning you might not be able to stomach longer sessions and you need a break every 30 min. But you can train your tolerance and then you won’t feel any nausea anymore.
EDIT: i mostly use Project Cars 2 as sim at the Moment.

One year after: I really do enjoy this game but the DLCs are big OOF. 2€ for car and 4€ for a map wich is making it 120€ for every car and map. Like wtf codemasters?
Complete dlc on ps4 is only €20. Since i got it for free with ps+ i think thats fine lol, €20 for a complete game is not bad

I just got tired of playing in circuits. So when I found rallying, I begged to god to get my hands on this game. So now, I got it. The difficulty is what makes it so fun because its so rewarding to finish the most brutal conditions.
The default co driver was a professional co driver ;)
Sidenote on the crowds, turn that down to like low for a huge boost in areas with people. Nearly no difference in quality that you'll notice!

As someone who is very into the simulation type stuff and plays it with a wheel setup.
Yeah this game doesn't feel great on tarmac but feels unbelievable off road.
It might seem like there isn't much to do but for the people who are in to sim games it comes dow more to the selection of cars and tracks which dort rally 2.0 does cery well, and yes the over driving feel is always the most important part which this game also does well.
If you've got a good wheel, pedals, shifter, handbrake with a frame to mount all that too you're in for a crazy experience to say the least.

Fyi: using a controller to play Dirt Rally 1&2 works perfectly. You don’t NEED a simulation setup to enjoy the games.

@@matttm3 It depends on the price and the amount of time you wish to spend on the game
Physics on gravel are an improvement - cars are now weightier, feel more natural, they don't fly off into the air on every bump. The behaviour of the car is very good and there are no complaints on the physics side on gravel. On tarmac - still, it's going to be skipped, as it's nothing compared to AC or even PCars2.
What I'm disappointed, but it could be fixed with some updates is the following:
1. Force feedback, even with hacking and trying to fool the game with messing with config files, still doesn't deliver almost any information about road texture.
2. I cannot get the audio for stones and objects to be audible. In Dirt Rally it was fantastic and well heard, here it's somehow lacking. Again - maybe a future update will fix it. I use a 5.1 setup that's properly adjusted and configured.
3. You cannot choose whichever time and conditions you want to play the stage on. You either have it sunny midday or wet (fully soaked) at dusk. Would be cool to have more options, I would like to drive the stage midday wet if so I choose, but right now it's not possible.
But overall, much more enjoyable than Dirt 4.

Been playing the original dirt rally in VR with a proper setup. I won't play this till it has psvr support. To do so without would be a step backwards for sure.
Warning to anyone that use a sim rig. The feel of the road/gravel surface is not the best right now, you don't really feel anything and it seems all the wheels have that problem. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

@@matulostyle The weight of the cars feel pretty good it's the road/gravel that's the problem. You don't really feel anything unless you crash into a tree or hit a jump. I Really hope they can fix it.

@@MRAutomaticjt I dont know, in my opinion thats not true. If you dont feel anything then you cant do weight transfer, so no powerslides etc. And with code masters for best powerslides you just need FWD and 0 skill :-) and you will get tons of those, easy XDDDD just think about it :-)

I've played every game of DiRT from Collin McRae Dirt to DiRT 4 and before I played them I did not know a thing about Rally, but now I dream of being a rally/rallycross driver. All the DiRT games are amazing

This game will ruin your appreciation for other racing games. You will pick them up and ask "why does it feel like im floating over the ground?", "why is there no feedback from the subtle bumps on the road as I drive over them?", "why is there no weight transfer or body sway as I turn?". If you play Dirt Rally 2.0 this tangible driving feeling will be ingrained in you. And it might be impossible for you to pick up a Need For Speed and appreciate it, because this game will spoil you with how spot on its driving physics are. Maybe a BeamNG might scratch that itch. But for majority of racing games, they do not reach this level of genuine realistic control, feedback and violent engagement that Dirt Rally 2.0 reaches. Just a flawless experience all around and after 150 hours of play time I wish it was a street sim so I could just enjoy the driving physics in a completely open uncontrolled space.
This was my first rally game ever and i thought it was amazing.
Rally is about stages and not knowing what's coming in front of you..DR 2.0 (like in DR) have only two "long" stages per country, and then pieces of it...after a couple of hours you know each corner!Shame on Codemaster and those who call this lazy effort a sim...
Last but not least, you didnt even mention about the DLC for previous locations already in DR, that should be included in the standard game! (it's like the F1 2018 game included only France & Germany and you have to buy in a separate DLC Australia, Mónaco, Spa, etc) but we the costumers have what we deserve.
Phisycs and graphics probably are ok, but it's pointless whit out long and diverse stages and locations.

Yes and that's not how a person talks when he is being bounced around at 100km/h, so in conclusion its dorky and the fact that a voice is from a world rally champion doesn't change anything because it has no connection. Why even commenting if it has no connection in logic.
@@patotop100 Mate Phil literally recorded all the pace notes while getting tossed around in a g force simulation rig. He did three runs for each stage. The first was a slow, light throw around. The second was a bit more intense. The third was "fear for your life" mode. The faster and harder you drive, the higher intensity they use for each specific pace note. It's pretty spot on. If you go fast enough you can actually hear him lose his place in the notes a couple of times.

Surely even the most Half Baked Suits out there can see that launching an Online Only Game, in an Era when Gamers, sick and tired of having "Live Service" BS rammed down our Throats, have become Extremely Hostile to *any and all* Online Elements in our Games, and are now Boycotting Games that require Online Connectivity for anything except Dedicated Multiplayer, is little short of *Business Suicide* ? . I think even Corporate Commander would be able to see that one!
As for it not being mentioned in Reviews, I have the Horrible feeling that the Publisher in Question, Possibly worried about Community Backlash, may Potentially not be allowing Reviewers to Mention that the Career is Online Only.

In rally mode it's against time mate. Rally cross (RX) is against other racers.
