Hey everybody, Developer of DreamWild here! I wanted to thank Vinny for giving my game a shot, it's always fun to see people playing something you made personally! I'm trying to improve the game experience as much as I can with updates, and I just added a new bank feature which allows players to pass Gubbins between playthroughs, cutting down on the early-game grind significantly. As always, all feedback is welcome, and I hope that I can work to make DreamWild the best game it can be!
i dove into Sok Worlds after vinny last showed it off. he actually DOES need to be careful about image searches while streaming. you can absolutely find nudes, even when searching some innocent words. ive even seen some published worlds with them, so i guess there isnt much in the way of moderation going on (which im fine with, but makes it a little dangerous to stream)
that being said, i hope he keeps coming back to it every now and then, like Dreams. there are some neat worlds to see, and bringing some attention to the game can help make more.
@@lukabrasi001 Nah, didn't even get a chance to finish mine yet. I'm working on recreating spots I've been to in visualization meditations. There's a sign giving some background, but aside from that it's not preachy and I just hope it comes off as cool dreamscapes to everyone
Since we are talking about things we think could improve sok-world, here are a couple of mine -More basic things that you can place into the level like simple 2d shapes and simplistic textures might help -The ability to add tints of color to images, i guess, might be nice -The ability to make the erase tool different shapes and sizes to make erasing things more precise -A tool to fill back in any images you erased by accident as long as you didn't erase them into oblivion -More editing tools, can't think of any off the top of my head at the moment but i'm sure a couple more tools could work wonders for this game
it plays better than it looks. if you remember your melee deals double the damage of your projectile then it's fine. my first time went really well and i could farm myself up nicely before the game froze
If anyone remembers it, I spent a lot of time on Whirled, which was basically the same deal as sok-worlds except 2D and more of a social platform rather than a 'game'.
Dreamwild has some really interesting aesthetics and creature designs, but it looks like the gameplay portion is hampered by some really questionable design choices. Surfing and bunnyhopping as mandatory techniques to get around the world, the super-useful sword beam being easy to lose early on and get screwed over without, and most egregiously the permadeath in a game with important upgrade and key progression. I guess I can see how some people would enjoy that kind of difficulty coupled with a weird movement system and a gradual progression system, but it just seems like conflicting ideas to me that don't quite work together. Then again I thoroughly enjoyed Noita, so I might be talking out my ass.
Being forced into close-range against enemies with contact damage for taking one hit is pretty rough, I agree; Noita is mostly ranged so you can still dodge just fine.
It's a shame that Dreamwild kinda sucks gameflow wise. I tried it myself and it doesn't give you anytime to actually take in the world at all, the combat is more annoying then fun.

It's kinda wild you called them "gubbins," although I didn't notice that they had any other name in the game, so...
Love the game! Please keep up the great work :)
The game is absolutely great but way too short ! I can't wait for the next updates !

SSSSHHHHH
Sok Worlds is absolutely a vinny-type game.
Egglike, Juicelike, or Roguelike?
The answer is yes.
I really hope he does more Sok-Worlds because I'm cooking up something nice in it ;;
is vinesauce woods yours

Wait a second, this isn't a jabroni_mike vod!
Something about that little hubworld castle area in Dreamwild made me feel... things. Weird, nostalgic and intriguing things.
Reminds me of like Twinsen's Odyssey
@@hollenhammer Now that's a nostalgic blast from the past. You're right, it does have LBA vibes.
@@hollenhammer I was thinking Dink Smallwood but yes
The music is what did it for me
i'd say it feels like Abe's Odyssey mixed with Kula World's aesthetics and the early PSX Demo discs, merged with the early 90's render pack discs
Dreamwild has an awesome art style, but the gameplay just looks annoying. Idk, maybe it’s just me but it doesn’t look like a lot of fun.
It's basically Devil Daggers with multiple worlds, an underlying quest and an upgrade system.

loved when vinny gave the sok to that orc

I was about to bring up Noita as one of the most unforgiving Rougelikes out there, 45+ hours and I still haven't finished it lol

"Subs, thank you. Doms, how dare you. I thought that was funny in the moment" You were correct
I would love to see vinn play Northern Journey
The sound effects from the red orb enemies remind me of LISA

This stream looks good in 360p. lol
It really completes the crust factor.
good thumbnail
Dreamwild's music is very Axiom Verge-like. I love it
It reminds me of Risk of Rain
Same! Was the first thing that came to mind
Vinny should have deleted his flesh worl unless he likes it being at the top of most liked worlds
