To anyone doing this, you should use an aluminum bearing and race driver to install that race. Much less likely to scratch or deform the race than the methods used in the video.

No, your axle shaft should not be rubbing on the cross pin for the differential spider gears.

Hard to say without looking at your axle. Its probably a bad bearing at your disconnect.
