  • The Crane Axle SE60 was designed to provide an immediate upgrade to any Dana 60 King Pin Axle. This upgrade provides the ability to handle bigger tires and wheel weight. It also provides much greater longevity for your Dana 60 axle components.
It provides these benefits by eliminating the weak King Pin springs on the top of any King Pin Dana 60 axle and replacing them with the SE60 bushings.
The springs that were designed and used with OEM wheels and tire weights and not engineered for bigger wheels and tires that a lot of off road guys are using. Typically, when upgrading the wheels and tires on a Dana 60 Axle, the stock king pin springs will compress too much causing damage to the existing bushings and other king pin parts. This allows the avoidance of this problem. The solution is removing the springs and placing this kit there instead.
This kit works in ANY Dana 60 King Pin Axle.
If you are currently running a Dana 60 setup with the spring, this kit is for you.

Hi, have a question about your spring elimination kit. Can it be used in conjunction with a bronze bushing instead of the white plastic bushing ? Can it also be used in conjunction with Moog's lower adjustable king pin kit. This would be used in a 92 dodge club cab long bed cummins 4x4. Like eliminating the spring. Ron

Can you use this kit in conjunction with a steering arm lift block? I'm running factory push-pull style steering with a steering arm lift block from rough country, and I'm interested in this kit but I'm not sure it it will work in my situation or not

Yes, it will work. All you are doing is removing the spring and spring seat.

My steering is only hooked up to the passenger side knuckle on top. The front of knuckles connect both sides together. Could I use the solid bushing and be okay even though the steering is hooked up to one side? Or should I find a way to connect both knuckles from the top instead of the front? I wish I could send a picture on here lol

You shouldn’t have any issues just running high-steer (attached passenger side knuckle to the pitman arm). The solid bushing should be installed on both sides as it removes the weak kingpin spring.

Can you run this kit with bronze bushings?

    • @CraneAxle

Yes, but our spring eliminator bushing must be turned down.
There is information about this in the instructions.

Will this work with a 1st gen Dodge Cummins with a Dana 60 or is this meant for a different application? Thanks

It’ll work. I’m considering doing this over bronze bushings for my first gen.

I dont understand why axle manufactures are using ball joints instead of kingpins

Because kingpins are always trouble, death wobble, spring center pins break, rides like shit, u joint junk. Honestly you get just as much time out of ball joint suspension under normal use as solid axles but much easier to fix. Only thing king pins have over ball joints is durability. Other than that they are no better.

Hello, does a worn bushing affect the camber alignment? I have a CUCV and the driver side tire is leaning in a little. Thanks.
