My stepdad drinks nothing but crown and I was looking for a good whiskey to get him away from that. I have been watching your videos and before I knew nothing about whiskey and with all the knowledge I had accumulated watching you for a few weeks without seeing this video first; I picked up a old forester 1920 for him. I am so happy you think it’s the best under 75 and you have taught me well sir!!
Did he like it? I'm sure it was a hell of a flavor bomb compared to Crown 😂
The people did an amazing job with these selections. When you see where the JD and OF1920 rank you truly see incredible value for 55-65 dollars.
Agreed 1920 is my favorite everyday type bourbon perfect for all uses and occasions. I can actually buy a KC12 for 65 rn but because of that i have 4 bottles already on the shelf 😂 I've only been able to buy one Colonel small batch in my town and was forced to pay 80. Would pay 80 again for rarity but i truly believe the 1920 goes head to head neck and neck with the colonel.
Haven't tried them all yet but love the Knob Creek 12. Currently my favorite. Going to try Old Forester next
Wow I am impressed that you guessed them all. The only 2 I have tried is the JD and OF and I like the OF a little better but the JD is really good.

What do you think about doing the same exact bottles comparison that you're doing by Price currently with 4 or 5 tiers by proof... Say best bourbon out of 5 bottles in the 80s, best bourbon of five in the 90s, best bourbon of five in the low 100s, and best bourbon out of 5 over 110 proof

i fw knob creek 9 single barrel reserve. for the price its good
KC9 Single Barrel is the best value in bourbon. Easy to find, high proof, great flavor, just around $50

Knob Creek Barrel and Wild Turkey Rare Breed can squeak by under that $75 mark usually, though at that point you might as well do a Barrel Strength blind
Rare Breed is under $50. I suspect it was in the under $50 Blind that they referred to but I haven't found it yet.

I’m in Arkansas and I haven’t seen a Jack Daniel’s single barrel barrel proof.
I have all those bottles (and not much more)
I've never even seen EH available in a PNW liquor store.
This is TOUGH.... I was a huge EH fan until i started appreciating higher proof and more complex flavors. KC12 may be one of the best 100 proofers out there and I dont crap on BT stuff at all BUT... my rank is ... JDSBBP or 1920 is 1 and 2 interchangeable... 3 kc12, 4 rrsb and last eh taylor
Sooner or later these bourbon channels will be hazmat or bust in their rankings.
EHT has too much hype, to me.
It’s still good but when I can snag a Redwood Pipe Dream any day of the week man the price on the EHT starts to make less sense as my palate grows. I want to love the EHT but it just doesn’t hit for me in the dollars/taste ratio.
I am new to bourbons and in past only drank Canadian blends and JD. I have subsribed and am working through your vids as you and Jill appear to be my kind of people. I bought a bottle of Buffalo trace $36 best price locally and like it. I can get Knob Creek 12 @$60. Is that a good price for the Knob creek?

You can buy most everything (except the eh) on online liquor stores at or near msrp ftw. (Provided you can buy liquor online in your state)
Your state should have drops, show up to the abc store 45 mins early and you’ll get something good

Russell is awful swill with a fancy name. Recommending that to people who are trying to spend money on decnt bourbon makes me wonder if they pay you for the review. I don't know a single bourbon drinker or reviewer that thinks that's a good buy.
