Huge thanks for the tags!
I've never been a fan of the Old no. 7 but I bought a bottle of the single-barrel barrel proof for $66 with tax a few days ago and holy shit. Worth every penny.
Same with me.. never liked 7 but that single barrel select is really good and Bananas for days. Great nose too
@@BoozeandNewswithTimandDut I had never tried the SBBP before and I struggled to find the banana on the bottle I've got but found it on the finish. It's a big blast of sweet brown sugar, baking spice, and a hint of a charred flavor that makes me think the charcoal filtering is coming through. It's fantastic. I feel like the banana note is more prominent on the lower-proof offerings like the SBS.
@@jacobflores8666 I haven't had the barrel proof yet. Gonna grab one this weekend and give it a whirl
I have looked down on Old No 7 for a long time, but recently I was at a really lame bar and it was the best option they had and I didn't hate it. It was much better than I remembered from being younger.
@@lonewanderer3603 I don't know. I generally like bold whiskies (probably why I like the SBBP) and Old no. 7 just doesn't do it for me. I wouldn't be opposed to a drink of it if somebody offered it to me but I would just go without if that was my only option at a bar.
Congrats to Jack for somehow finding a way to grow their target consumer. This era of Jack Daniel’s could be forever revered as one of the greatest eras of Tennessee Whiskey history if they keep this up.
Im living proof aha
New drinker here and some of these new releases have been my intro to the category and im loving em
@@BigShaneGillisnah. JD hitting the value sweet spot with SBBP
@@BigShaneGillis“Sugar whiskey“ - what a load of crap
Jack has gotten so good at this, i feel like chris and lexi have brought a new age to jack daniels. Every new release under them has been good.
Started with Jeff Arnett
Would like to see the Sinatra in there also.
Fantastic video!!! I love the way y’all did this drink through. I keep a running list of whiskeys to buy based 100% on your reviews. Thank you!
Jack Daniels Coy Hill with a Busch Latte chaser, boom next question.
Was literally thinking about how much I love Jack Daniel's special releases and as I search "Bourbon Junkies" I see this video. Thanks for the content boys
might be the best video so far... Great for someone just starting or someone trying to figure out what Jack to get.. awesome..
Fantastic video - love your ranking videos. Cheers!
I really love the Triple Mash.
I'm also stoked that the sbbp rye is a normal item now. I got it for $47.99 and it's so damn good.
I hated both the bonded and triple mash when they first came out. Just neck pours though. Came back to them a year later to give them another go, still didn’t like the bonded but absolutely love the triple mash. Enough I went out and bought 2 more on sale.
Single Barrel Select is still my go to 😋🥃
Ridin' that Stroke wagon by glass #2. This is the content I pay for.
Been waiting on these kind of rankings thanks. High west or barrel next please, also next time if it’s easy enough keep a small bottle of it while you are discussing it at the bottom. I had to keep rewinding to remember which bottle you were talking about.
Elenor? Wasn't that the name of Nicolas Cage's favorite car in Gone in 60 seconds?
As someone who has drunk very little Jack Daniels, I found this very informative.
Thanks guys!!
Just went to the distillery for the first time this week. It was a great experience!
I am a big Jack fanboy but haven’t found any of the limited releases. This video definitely got me hyped to keep looking
Great video and I did like the "blind" at the end to finalize the ratings.
Jack has been killing it in the last few years.
What would really change up the top bottles is the JDSB Barrel Proof Rye. It's amazing. If Jack makes good and maintains it's quality and makes it as available as the normal SBBP it will be the greatest available BP Rye on the market.
Felt like I was right there with you. Started this video with a JD Gentleman Jack (had a mini to get rid of) and finished with some Single Barrel Barrel Proof (126).
Thank you for the review.
Fun video! I’m a year into my journey and the JD Select was my favorite when I started. Still loving it along with JDSBBP! Haven’t had any of the nicer ones
yet:(
No Sinatra select? Great video though
I love the bonded..don’t know why you guys don’t like it that much.
Why isnt sanatra select ever included in these jack vids??
Love the single barrel barrel proof, glad it made the podium especially since it's the only one of three I'll ever get to try 😂
It's one of the best Bourbons I've had and only $65-70.
@@robschoenung9543 agree, its really good. Its better when its cold but not watered down. So smooth.
Never been a fan of Old No. 7 and Gentlemen Jack but I am a fan of the Bonded and barrel proofs.
I hear you. No7 is just the regular only good for mixing rally but I guess if you want the collection it's good to have. Also for when you have company.
Picked up a Single Barrel Select Store Pick just the day before this video dropped and it is phenomenal. I normally do not like Jack, but that bottle and the SIB Barrel Proof I had a while back are incredible
I am with you. Its my go to now.
Good video guys. Cheers!
I've still never had Coy Hill, but I just recently got a chance to try Jack 12yr and my god it was an experience. Without a doubt the best Jack I've ever tasted. If Coy Hill is even better than that, my lord.
I was finally able to try the 12yr at a bar the other day. I was very impressed. Really bummed I missed out on that bottle.
Great video.
I'd like to see the new Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof Rye and the McLaren collaboration too. Awesome video guys.
McClaren is just regular no. 7 in a fancy box.
To all the people saying "It's not a bourbon because they asked not to be classified as a bourbon." Cool.... I've asked to not be called fat, but doesn't mean I'm not fat so...
Bro you're not fat your just pleasantly plump.
My mom says to call her a man but I still call her a woman
Jack Daniels has a really good line up. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
What, no Sinatra Select? 😝🤣🥃
Very funny n very informative vid !!
Just recently tried Jack Daniels Sour Mash! Never had it before! I'm new to that brand! Definitely hooked
I’ve had the BiB, triple mash and the SBBP. The SBBP is by far my favorite but the other two will definitely have a spot in the rotation. It’s been cheaper to buy the 375’s for the SBBP and I’ve noticed the proof tends to be higher too.
Clear winner is the JD SBBP. It held its own vs the limited releases. The only one in the top 3 that’s easy to find. My favorite by far.
Seems like I need to hop on this Jack train….. never had a bottle of any Jack in my collection till I got y’all’s single barrel barrel proof pick
Why no Sinatra blend?
Great video guys! It actually helps me cuz my tastes line up with yours, so now I know I can get top JD bottle without breaking the bank. See, Single barrel/barrel strength is regular pricing here in So Cal, $70. Coyhill is well over $600 at the only store that still has it, 10 year is $200, and 12 year is $250. I've even seen Coyhill go for $999 at one store while they had the one bottle in stock. Trust me, Cali sucks in all ways but especially for whisky hunting.
Love the video
Based on watching this, and having 2 weeks off work, I snuck the purchase of a few bottles of whiskey. One of them was the Single Barrel Select based on this (although slightly on memory from this video. The higher the proof, the better the Jack helped!). It drinks damn fine, but it really is very banana forward! (and I think it was barely $40 in WA)
That’s good to know as I’m in WA too
Man I love the Triple Mash...lol.. but I have to say I love malts so...but love single barrel and barrel proof all day long
Me gusta casi todo de Jack Daniels, gracias amigos!
Just finished a pour of Dalmore but I’ll gladly switch to my JD single barrel cask strength for this
Sean almost looks like an adult with that fresh haircut
I picked up a 10 & 12, haven't cracked them yet. Wasn't looking for them, knew nothing about them, but they were offered to me ($62 ea) when I was picking up some allocated.
You were picking up some allocation and was also offered the 10 & 12 year old. And the icing on the cake was for $62 bucks? Who do you know? God? 😊
@@gcbwoods I checked my receipts today when logging all my buys into a spreadsheet, and I actually paid $54 each.
Where would the Sinatra one be???
Love you guys! You guys are awesome. Enjoy the single barrel that I can find for 50 bucks in NYC . You guys are like a real life Beavis & Butthead totally awesome.
that savory note to me is the BBQ sauce on BBQ chicken when you take it off the grill...kind of a tangy sweetness.
that was great..thanks
I went to the Jack Daniels distillery about 15 years ago. At that time it was in a dry county and you could not get a sample of Jack. They literally jacked with my Jack. Hopefully that isn’t the case anymore.
No you can taste samples depending on which tour I did Angels Share tour in June
Would have loved to see Sinatra Select in this!
Did not get the first Coy hill we got in, we got 2 375ml and have one left. I hope to take it home! I need the Coy Hill!
No Frank Sinatra? Very tasty!
Love Jack! Ive had all of these except No 27. Early guess watching this now is Coy Hill, JD12, JD 10 (if batch 1)and JDBP make top 4. Gentleman Jack should rank the worst. Love JD TM myself too
those single barrel BP’s are legit. i’ve never had a bad once. tennessee stagg for sure
Can you guys explain the bottle wall behind you in a video? I feel like we are missing something.
Great taste through
Jack Daniels just released a special release double barreled rye…..that is fantastic!
Ha! Try finding the 10 and 12 for less than 2 and $300
Sean cracked me up the whole time. 😂
My Grandfather would go through a handle or more of Jack Daniels every week. When I was a little kid, he'd take us to the "medicine" store to get it. I can hardly even smell it now. I always thought it tasted like some kind of cough medicine.
I've only found it at one place in town, they had the 12-year for $535 and the 10-year at like $350. Utterly insane...
Sitting on this unopened Coy Hill. You make me want to open it.
Visited Jack Daniels Distillery with wifey in June she loved Sinatra Select and she isn't a whiskey drinker they had 1 L bottles in White Rabbit Shop for $170🥃
Missed Sinatra surprisingly good
wish they would put out more of the 12 year stuff, even at a higher msrp. the few times i've seen it in non-abc states it's $400+...
I wish they would work on getting the 10 and 12 year as available and actually priced at the MSRP everywhere
If you didn't drink the Maple finished right after 12 & Coy I wonder if it's higher?
Superb...and accurate !
Dang it, and the places around here just started stocking up on SiBBP again. Gotta grab one before they disappear for another 6 months.
Seriously though, that's a monster bottle for $70 and regularly findable.
Jack SB Barrel proof…what I get when I’m missing Stagg Jr.
I wonder what the results would be if the new JD SiB BP Rye was included, especially the 138.x proof recently reviewed...
I love the Triple Mash, but I can see why it scored so low next to the rest of the stereotypical Jack flavours in that line up. It’s different, but delicious in its own right!
Would be interested where the new 2023 twice barreled Heritage rye special release would rank!
Wonder where the various ryes would fit in the order...
I actually got lucky enough to get a 12 year. Looks like I need to get some of the others too. Would have loved to be volunteer for pours in the park but oldest son's birthday 18. Can't skip out on that. Have fun all
Is the Bottle in bond available in Michigan?
I just wonder if the 10 would of done better than the BP if you both didn't drink it directly after coyhill in the final round. I almost feel like going from hazmat to 97proof is gonna take away from the lower proof pour
Y'all forgot Sinatra Select.
Could you keep the name of the Burboun during your entire tasting if each? I listen while working at my desk and often am frustrated to miss the name. BTW my everyday budget friendly on the rocks is Wheller.
I like the newer bonded.
Wonder where JD Sinatra Edition sits. Probably in the middle.
This is exactly how i would rate them!
I don't see the rye or the single malt, both of which are fantastic. The 2020 Special release rye is the best thing ever.
I love Triple Mash
Drinking the prototypical, controlled, baseline Jack Daniels (No7)... Dan: "That is prototypical... This is the most controlled baseline Jack Daniels of them all." One of your taste buds were working fine.
Idk what's wrong with the bonded to them. I enjoy that one
Is the Sinatra comparable to one of these?
I would think no. 27 gold would be close to Sinatra
@@brianfriest Nope. Not even close.
Where is Sinatra?
Sad that most of these are discontinued
I feel like you should have included the ryes, they would be up there.
I fucken love the bonded!!
Happy to see I’m not the only one who doesn’t like triple smash. The more it sit on my shelf the better it got but it was still terrible in my opinion
Every time I taste Old No 7 it tastes different. Someone told me that they don't rotate the barrels anymore. The ones on top stay hot and the ones on the bottom stay cool. Anyone notice the inconsistency in taste or know any thing about barrel rotation?
Not sure honestly, they have a crazy barrel house team I know that.
