Excellent video ... exactly the focus and type of review I was looking for with a good note taking experience being a primary requirement in my search for the right tablet. I'm super impressed that you took the time in the comments to respond to a lot of questions that your viewers had - not a lot of content creators do that these days. Those responses and additional information were very helpful too. Bonus points for caring to do that. Thank you ... and subbed!
Thanks for the honest review! I appreciate that you wrote it from an ACTUAL perspective of a note-taker instead of thinking of a note-taking device = full-on laptop replacement. ipads are obviously better at that for their specs, but not many touched on the pen performance and latency for this kinda stuff, and for a "tablet" on its own, the Galaxy Tab line absolutely excels at that. If it's not much, I'd love to see you compare like this but with budget tablets like the Ipad Air and the upcoming Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) since they're the most popular with students :)
Thanks Alex. Finally a good comparison against the remarkable 2. I am considering buying the S8 Ultra as part of the black Friday sales here in Australia. Cheers
Hello from Brazil Alex! I'm a tech lover, but i follow you and like a lot to learn english with your accent. Very clear and "pausy" like a "doctah" in language from "londonah" :). Thx for content with visual and audio like BBC!
Funnily enough when I was young I lived in Liverpool. I had a Liverpool accent but in my early teens I had elecution lessons to learn to speak "properly". 😉
Thank you so much for comparing the device with an A4 paper. I haven't had a chance to see the device myself and this comparison helped me decide on the device. Thank you so much. It's the little things. Best review on the Samsung tab s8 ultra. Very informative
The first review that really helped me. Many thanks for your effort and your practical experiences. Now the question arises for me; It's almost November and apparently the S9 series should come at the beginning of 2023. This will probably be very high in price, but also innovative. Would you personally still buy an S8 Ultra at this point in time, or would you rather wait?
That's a fantastic question 👏; my answer would be now for 3 reasons. 1. You can buy it now discounted only £30 off in the UK on Amazon at the moment. Still, there may be more deals over the coming weeks, or Samsung is offing £150 off if you exchange an existing tablet, there would probably be fewer discounts on a new one, and it may be more expensive as an RRP. 2. You are still maybe 5 months away from a Tab S9; you could be using the S8 for 5 months before the S9 becomes an option (if it's released 12 months after the s8); that's a long time of getting more productivity. 3. The Tab S8 Ultra is a great product I am sure the Tab S9 will be "better", but better enough to pay more money and wait 5 months (maybe) but probably not. Just look at the recently released 2022 iPad Pros hardly much upgraded over last year's model. So taking all into account, if I could find the tablet at a price I thought was good value, I would buy it now 👍. I hope that helps.
Honest review from a writers perspective. Many reviews are saying similar words about the Tab S8U. BUT they always become biased toward the ipad by comparing geekbench scores 🤷
The ipad is the "better" laptop replacement IMHO. It is more powerful you can feel it. But as a "tablet" it's closer and as a tablet to write on Samsung wins. I don't think most of the reviews will use this properly to write on day in day out. I am and it impresses me. I don't know if that makes any sense 🤔 🤣
@@AlexSamuels It is more powerful, but the OS limits what you can do with it quite heavily. The S8 has a much weaker processor, but ironically, way less restrictive and more laptop-esque software with dex. I'd venture to say despite the weaker processor, you can probably get more out of the samsung. Good thing is, a product like this might kick apple to finally pay some more attention to the ipad software.
@@INTERNETDWARF I think it sums it up nicely, however I don't think Apple will do very much with iPad OS (as much as I wish they would). If they make it too good they will eat into there own laptop sales and as the iPads already now have the same processors as the base laptops. If for example and ipad air became truly comparable to say a macbook pro that could cost Apple more money than Samsung can take off them just at the moment. It might be short sited if Samsung continues to innovative in this market but I think the limitations of android in the tablet market mean Apple don't have to worry just yet 😔.
Yo Alex! I got today a tab s8 lcd standard "brazilian nana version", after look your great review. Loving 1 zillion resources from this great tool for study and content(my case). When i be a londonah i Will get a ultra mega blaster kiwi version.
👏, Roberto I'm sure you will love it. When I played with one I was so impressed, I still use an ipad Pro 11, which is a really useful size but if I didn't have that I might have gone for lcd version instead 😊. Enjoy 👍, and thanks for the update.
Samsung has always had a better eye for the future direction of tablets. To all the people who love their iPad Pro 12.9's, congrats. You're holding the Apple version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 from 2014. For the record, the Note 12.2 was out at the same time as the Apple iPad & the first Windows Surface AND is was superior product to both of them. I say that having owned all 3 at the time. Just like Alex, I am immersed in the Apple ecosystem but this tablet is hands down a better writing experience and I agree entire that if Samsung Notes was available in the Apple app store, it would be my go to writing app. My app of choice in the Apple ecosystem is Noteshelf, the only app with good calligraphy pen nib options. I wish Apple gave as much attention to Apple Notes. Hopefully Apple is peeking over Samsung's shoulder again just as it was in 2014. Give us a similarly sized iPad ... idk maybe call it the iPAd Ultra 15.9 or whatever and launch is as the first ever tablet of its size LoL. Until then, I'll be taking all my notes of this gem... a year later it's still the best tablet for handwritten notes on the market. Nevermind it's all-in-one functionality. IJS with a logitech keyboard and mouse in Dex Mode, this device is definitely a multitalented product.
i've been looking and loads of reviews for the galaxy tab s8 recently and finally youtube recommended me this one, which is what i wanted all along: how is the device for writing. thank you for this video.
Thanks for the video. Ive been thinking about buying a tablet. I do a lot of writing (not just notes) and have been looking to go back to handwriting rather than typing.
If you have a galaxy book laptop, the syncing is pretty much the same as the syncing to the macbook. The newer galaxy book 2 pro and galaxy book 2 pro 360 even have a single sign on to your samsung account. Everything syncs. The samsung notes, samsung gallery etc. And most samsung apps are already installed on the laptop with the exception of apps like samsung internet and Samsung messages. It,s the same as a macbook minus things like Samsung messages not being installed vs imessages on the macbook. However just like you need a macbook to get the whole apple ecosystem, you need a samsung laptop to get the same samsung ecosystem.
Thanks, Carl, your a 🌟 really helpful comment 👍. My issue is although the Samsung laptops look like a nice bit of kit I moved away from Windows over a decade ago and although Windows it's much better than it was there is nothing that really makes me want the go back. Especially now with the new apple silicone, the real-world power difference between the Samsung laptops and what Apple has to offer is night and day. (although at a night and day price difference I admit at the higher end). The joys of being OS-agnostic, as I think of myself is I just have to live with workarounds. But like I said at the start I think putting that message out there is really helpful as I think for some people a Samsung phone, tablet and laptop would be a very powerful combination 😉.
@@Bmasta717 It's interesting because on mine it's not automatic, it gives me the option to sync via onedrive. I haven't chosen this as I use Google Photos as my main way to access my photos and video. Google photos works well at syncing including online access.
@@AlexSamuels I use one drive primarily. It's just better integrated with Samsung (and cheaper) than storage through Google. Photos, videos, screenshots, and downloaded media go right into the gallery app, which is super convenient
If you can do more tech vids, that would be great. Your reviews are genuine and I really appreciate your honestly and transparency throughout the video
As always, great review, Alex! But a more accurate review should have both the iPad and the Tab with some matte paper-feel screen protector applied to them. For the iPad it's supposed to dramatically change the writing feel, and the Tab also needs that because It's mirror like reflective, which is really annoying in a lit room. Please consider doing this kind of comparison.
Thanks John, 👍. It would make an expensive device more expensive if you have to hire a full time PA for it. 🤔. Although the Samsung Tab 8 Ultra costs £20,000 because of the PA I had to hire would make an interesting video 😉.
Really great comparison between the different writing experiences! I'm looking for a device for school so I was wondering how you can organize your files. Could you maybe tell me something about that for the Galaxy Tab?
Great question, for school and writing the tab would be a great device. In the native notes app (which works really well) you have folder options and you can make folders in folders so it would be really easy to organise notes by different areas of life and subjects in school 👍
@@AlexSamuels Thank you for the quick respond. That really sounds to fit my needs. Would you rather recommend the S8 Ultra or the S8+ if you have any experience with this device as well. I really enjoy your content and your interactions with your viewership. Keep up the great work💪
@@biscuitkiller2624 It's a really interesting question, so for years I used the 11inch iPad pro and it works really well and the Tab S8 + is a similar size. For school, portability and not being too conspicuous out I would go for that perosnlly. Howver, in a home / office environment I prefer to use the larger screen. So if you main priority is carrying it everyever I would say go for the + but if your using it mostly at home go for the Ultra. I hope that helps.
@Biscuit Killer So honestly the ipad 12.9 is my daily driver I think it's great but you NEED the magic keyboard to make that device work properly and the apple pencil and then you are probably twice the money of the Tab plus. I think it's a better laptop replacement than the Samsung Tablet. But the Samsung is the better wiring device and just as good a tablet (if that makes sense). The apple magic keyboard is amazing though it really does feel like a laptop keyboard. Honestly, for school the Tab will be great, I would have loved a device like that when I was at school 🤣, OMG I'm so old. For school I don't think there is enough difference between the ipad and the Tab plus to justify the difference especially when you factor in the cost of that amazing keyboard.
Great video comparison, thank you! I have the iPad Pro, and, while the apps are fantastic, the writing experience isn't great for me as the pencil seems to slide and I always have this feeling of losing control so I hold it tighter and tighter. My reMarkable 2 is great for note taking, though I very often feel frustrated that I don't have color options for it. Finally, my Tab S7+ (the size below the TS8U) offers a great size with a great writing experience - all you say.
Thanks for the comment 👍. I feel relieved to know I'm not the only person in the world with an iPad Pro, RM2 and Samsung Tablet 😂. I really wish Apple could make the writing feel more like this. I think what put me off the S series tables for years is I thought the form factor was too similar too what I already had. I love that the Ultra is something different.
@@AlexSamuels How do you feel carrying around the Tab S8 Ultra around with you? Too big / heavy? I'm considering it. Did you also get the keyboard case?
@Xristfer so the keyboard case came as part of the deal but hasn't arrived yet. Hopefully next month 🤞. It's not really too big and heavy, but it does need a case. I am used to carrying my iPad Pro 12.9 with a keyboard case and before that it was laptops. As long as you have the right bag to carry it in it's fine. I have a rucksack that will take upto a 16 inch laptop. It's a really good question that has got me thinking 🤔, but no it's fine to carry round. 👍
If you get one of these paper type protectors they make a world of difference with the writing experience. It's truly like writing on paper. good luck.
What a great review 🤝 And in which device you have felt more strain in your eyes ? Because I will be using for 6-7 hrs a day. How about a comparison between laptops and tablets (in terms of students use) ? Personally, with note taking, I would also like to edit pictures and videos. How good will be Samasung tablet ? Or should I go with laptop where note taking is hard ?
Great question and thank you 🙏. So if I could only go for one device as a student I would go for a 12.9 inch ipad Pro with magic keyboard. It's not quite as good as the tab s8 ultra as a writing canvas, and it's not quite as good at being a laptop as a laptop but it's about 90% as good as both it's the best compromise in my opinion. You can also use it to edit pictures and video on, either the s8 ultra or ipad it's just a case of finding software you are happy with. However, regarding eye strain, in my opinion you need an e-ink display to help reduce eye strain if it's something you suffer from. I hope that helps.
Perfect, I don't remember having one issue with it. It's funny, because it's good enough that until you asked the question I hadn't thought about it. 👍
Hey Alex - enjoyed the video and it helped. 2 notes - Get a good mic maybe? Your audio needs a little enhancing - reverby room and all. I enjoyed this at 1.25 speed. Speed things up. Or not. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback 🙏, I think I need to bring the mic closer even if it's in shot. I think that will sort the sound but I prefer the look without it 🤔. I really appreciate your thoughts 😊
Nice review! Thanks a lot! However , I must confess that the music, along with your accent really distracted me (in the best possible sense) and dragged me to a theatrical opus. You literally occluded the tab S8Ultra.
Have you ever tried one of those matte screen protectors that imitate a paper-like texture? Just curious about your opinion on them. Thank you for a really insightful video :)
Hi Ali, yes but not on this device. I use one on the Onyx Boox Note air. To be honest I think they're great, especially on eink. I think they improve writing on an LCD display but they will also marginally distort it. They also can ruin pen tips. I need to put one on the iPad Pro 11 to try it out. 🤔. Thanks for the comment 👍.
It's a pity that you did not include your Note Air in the review. I really enjoyed your review and realise that it would have been a lot more work to do so, but especially software-wise the Onyx devices fill a significant gap between the
@@alexfekken7599 I think you make a good point Alex and I was thinking the same myself just today. I was never planning on putting it in this video because I actually think it's so close in terms of functionality but less well known than Remarkable (maybe I'm wrong) but I thought it would need more explanation about what it was . However I am thinking of doing a head to head style video including the Note Air. 🤔. Great comment and thought 👍
Im a person who likes to writes with a push force, like in reality i like to stack a few sheets of paper as a cushion. Which tablet would you suggest for my writtimg behaviour? Because im really confused between ipad or samsung tab
I would suggest the Samsung, because it has a slightly softer nib I think it will give you more cushioning. Honestly I don't like the idea of pushing the apple pencil into the iPads screen 🙈. But my preference is to write with the Samsung tablet anyway and I have quite a light writing style. I hope that helps 🙏.
@@AlexSamuels I think another thing to consider is that Samsung tablets apparently supports many other wacom and other 3rd party pens as well so the writing experience can be customised. Maybe this is one area where apple suffers with its locked up ecosystem.
You should compare iPad and remarkable also with A4 sheet. Also Samsung has Book2 pro 360 with 15.6 and 13 inch screens. They are actual laptop specs and have amoled display it can also be used for note taking since it also supports samsung apps. Also there is no need to buy a separate computer.
I have not seen this on any review or tutorial, and it is very important to me. Can you put those diagonal lines that make it like a regular notebook? If I write on a blank paper my sentences go all over the place not in a straight line.
Thank you for the review and comparison. Very useful. As you mentioned the bright panel of lcd over eink, I've been using a s7 for several month to take notes and i prefer the dark mode on s notes app. Have you tried it ? It's easier for my eyes. And with an oled display it should drain less battery, but I'm not able to find any bench mark on this niche use case :)
Thank you very much for this comment, I hadn't tried it, but I m writing this response using your suggestion, and I think you are right; it is easier on the eyes 👍. The downside is that there is more reflection than the pale green background that I usually use because it is glass instead of the more matt screen of a lot of e-ink devices. I agree that battery comparison would be interesting. 🤔
@@AlexSamuels as soon as I receive the s8u, I'll try a mat screen protector. Saw one or 2 comments that it helps to get a paper feeling. But only mat and not "paperlike". This should help to save the nibs. We all have different use case and feelings, I'll have to try before being able to find my perfect spot.
@@AlexSamuels I've been testing this set up for almost a week now and i like it a lot! A mat film protector on the tab. My hand does not slide on the screen any more and it is the weird feeling of hand on glass. The pen is more accurate and i have a more paper like feeling when writing. There is a kind of paper sound when writing too. Of curse you loose some "shinyness" of the screen :) but my number one use is writing, so i don't really care. Happy with this. I ordered another one for the s7 of my wife.
I am looking for a tablet I guess, but I want to write lots of mathematical equations more like data science and programming , lots of diagrams sketches of algoritms etc.. I want to have very sharp writings clean, neat. Display quality is what I am going for, I am actually considering the samsung 8+ until I came across your clip, I am considering an ultra also if it weigh in more benefits..I will use it more in bed also. I think I will go for s8+ but if it is pricewise very close then I might considering also the ultra, but I am afraid It might be too big for me.
As soon as I read using in bed I thought its too big. The S8+ will be great. The Utra is awesome but it's more like a laptop alternative too big for even occasional bed use IMHO. Hope that helps. 🙏
@@AlexSamuels Thanks very much for your answer, but there is a sale going on at samsung you get ultra + keyboard of 350 dollar or s8+ and the slimbook cover which is from reviews not that good. I would like to have a good case just to watch a movie in bed without holding it, do you have any advise on that?
Great review. I recently bought the iPad and I love it. But it's not suiting me one use case and thinking of buying the Samsung. I want to create Khan Academy style using videos using iPad, but it can do only 4:3 aspect ratio. I've tried all the tricks but it's too much work. And if I use software, it looks stretchy. Anyone have experience creating videos directly from Samsung and uploading to youtube?
It's a great question, I have tried loads of things. You can do it with the Samsung Tab but I think you will run into different pain points. I think a laptop would give you the best results if you can make it work budget-wise. Just a thought 🤔.
@@prajganesh So it’s a good point and the Tab will record perfectly. However, where I think it has pain points is in any post production / editing. If you want to just record and post then fine but if you want to do anything more that is where a PC/Mac will add so much value. Hope that helps.
In one way, yes, for sure, but sooooo many apps are better optimised for apple I find in a lot of ways, the iPad is the more productive machine. That's not to say I do not love a lot of things about the S8 👍
@@AlexSamuels Depends on what apps you use. Note taking is better on the S8. Writing is better on the S8. Multi-tasking is faaaaar better on the S8. Multi-media and gaming is better on the S8. Those are all the apps I need. DEX turns the S8 into a full-fledge laptop experience. With a Citrix client you even have a 100% Windows laptop.
@@hankmiller990 I can see where you are coming from, and if I didn't have a desktop, I would find an iPad more limiting. You made some very good points thank you for sharing.
For Samsung: Does it feel like real A4 paper without the need to zoom in and out? This feature is essential for me, as using a small tablet is frustrating. When I write on A4 paper, I can use both small and large handwriting with a pencil comfortably.
As far as I understand Remarkable uses monochrome (black and white) display, thus it may be unsuitable for people who do technical writing and need to use different colors. That leaves S8 Ultra and Ipad pro. I have an ipad pro but frankly cannot claim that it exactly a replacememt of of paper, though do not know how better is samsung S8 ultra to ipad pro.
The Tab S8 is similar to the iPad in terms of writing. Similar but different, if I could only write with one I would choose the S8 as I prefer the experience, but the difference is not night and day just in my opinion nicer and that feeling builds up over hours and hours of using the device.
@@AlexSamuels thanks. 1. Are you using any special screen protector to enhance the feeling of writing. 2. Are you using the default app from samsung for writing or some third party app.
@zaygham nawaz for the ipad I use www.doodroo.com/collections. Re Samsung yes the native writing app, but I think it's the best writing app on any device 👍
Bro, was samsung holding a gun to your head at the time of making this review 😅? Hehe..just for laughs I'm actually thinking of buying this tomorrow...are there any other better options out there for a tab this size?
😂, not as far as I know. This is the biggest and best this size that I am aware of. I keep on meaning to make a follow up to this (work gets in the way). In it I would compare the iPad and 12.9 and this. The iPad in my opinion is the better device for productivity in most ways except writing, as a writing device I prefer the Tab S8 Ultra, however the iPad 12.9 with magic keyboard (so expensive) replaces my laptop almost all the time where as this doesn't quite as much. Hope that helps.
If they had S8 the smallest version in oled screen, I would have considered that one, but since it doesn't come with a oled screen, I am choosing either the Ultra or the Plus version. Thanks for the advises and tips.
IMHO get the S8; there is a massive difference in the usability of each device depending on the size; if the S8 is the right size and price for you, then go for that. The Ultra, for example, is a very different device; in the crazy world I live in, I got the Ultra because I still, on occasion, use an 11 inch iPad pro and a Remarkable 2; it is a great size and form factor. I would not say this if I did not see the S8. I was in shock when I was in a shop the other week playing with an S8 and an S8+ next to each other, thinking I knew there was a difference in screen technology, but I could not see it. If I had spent longer looking at the blacks, I am sure I would have spotted a difference, but my initial impression of the S8 was bloody hell; this is a great value device for people who want this size. Anyway, you do you, but just my thought, having seen the device and written on it, not just looking at the spec sheet 👍
I am totally sold after seeing the each model in person lol I am getting the smallest version! Thanks for your honest opinion. I thought exactly the same thing you said when I saw the S8 haha
@@Toki1908 👍, I am pleased it's not just me, 😂. I think sometimes we can suffer from being able to read a spec sheet (which most people don't). A great example is I bought a Google Pixel 5a for £250 last year as a small phone to use while cycling. I was like wow! you get a lot of phone for £250, but I would never have bought it if size was not the main driver. I hope you enjoy the Tab S8, I am sure you will 😊
It's been a couple months now since I've bought this tablet and it is great. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxLNmVocUk8tnSkwWIlYSNFzWRIaFTBuzS The tablet is responsive and runs well. There were a few times that the tablet did an awkward thing where it would detect pen on at all times and wouldn't register finger press, but it is usually fixed by closing and opening either the screen or app. This is highly likely due to my excessive use for drawing which caused this and wasn't really very big. As I mostly enjoy using the tablet for drawing (and some light gaming), I would comment from that aspect that there is definitely more accurate pressure and drawing using a PC device and drawing tablet, however i find the moveablity of the tablet more enjoyable to draw on. Like how you can physically rotate and move a piece of paper around or even draw casually on your bed.All in all, as a tablet it is good, and as a drawing device can be good depending on what you want from a drawing device. It is definitely good enough if you just want to use it to take notes. For typing though I can't comment on the keyboard as I did not get the keyboard.
You deserve a like for comparing it with A4 sheet paper.

Thanks -- I'm looking at this because they're now on sale.
This is an excellent review and comparison and exactly what I needed to watch. Thank you.
Thank you Steve for taking the time to share your thoughts 🙏
Keith, wow! really interesting comment and history with real 1st hand experience. Thank you for sharing this very interesting insight 🙏.
i've been looking and loads of reviews for the galaxy tab s8 recently and finally youtube recommended me this one, which is what i wanted all along: how is the device for writing. thank you for this video.
Thanks Jack, thats exactly why I made it 👍, I'm pleased that it helped 😊. Thank you for taking the time to comment 🙏
Thanks for the video. Ive been thinking about buying a tablet. I do a lot of writing (not just notes) and have been looking to go back to handwriting rather than typing.
Glad it was helpful!
Underrated channel!
Thanks 👍, hopefully when I get back into posting subs will go higher 😊. Life getting in the way of TH-cam 😂.
Awesome detailed video which dives into things I haven't found in other reviews. Its certainly helping me make a buying decision. keep it up.
Thank you 😊
If you have a galaxy book laptop, the syncing is pretty much the same as the syncing to the macbook.
Recently the photo gallery has started syncing across devices as well
@@Bmasta717 It's interesting because on mine it's not automatic, it gives me the option to sync via onedrive.
@@Bmasta717 Thanks Bryant, really useful to know 👍. P.S. I hope you're still singing you have a great voice 😊.

Honestly great video, please producing more. You have another subscriber !
If you can do more tech vids, that would be great. Your reviews are genuine and I really appreciate your honestly and transparency throughout the video
Thank you so much, I currently have some serious health issues but I am looking forward to a time when I can get back to it 🙏
As always, great review, Alex!
Thanks for the comment and suggestion, your right and it has been on my to do lost for ages. I will put it up the to do list and see what happens 🤞👍
looks like I'll need an assistant just to carry around my samsung s8!! 😂 I own an s7+ that's big enough for me. Great review.
@@AlexSamuels Thanks again! I will probably go for the plus version then. Also considering the iPad pro 12.9 version but imo it's to expensive 😅
Hi Alex I really enjoy your content. Can you do a review on the e-book reading experience with epub and pdf. Thanks
Thanks Kino 👍, really good idea. Just to check do you mean on the Tab S8 ultra? Are you thinking about a comparison with any other devices? 🤔
Thanks for the wonderful video!
The s7+ would heat up a lot on just a few min of writing, how does the S8 ultra compare in this regard?
It's truly like writing on paper. good luck.
@@purplecowideal Thanks John
What a great review 🤝
And in which device you have felt more strain in your eyes ?
@@AlexSamuels exactly! thank you.
Fantastic comparison thank you. However, I have a question. What is the palm rejection like when writing on the units?
Thank you sir for your great video. But I have a query. Will it work in Dex mode with any keyboard or oly with it's own keyboard cover?
It will work in Dex mode with any keyboard 👍. Hope that helps 😊
@@AlexSamuels Thank you.
I have 1 on mine and it feels great. Yes it's like writing on paper.
@Tb Bt really good to know I will probably try it. Does it damage the nib?
I ordered one...on its way
Hi Justin, very exiting, I hope you like it. 😊
I know it is not the subject, but how do I activate my keyboard backlight' on the SO8 Ultra.
@@AlexSamuels I think another thing to consider is that Samsung tablets apparently supports many other wacom and other 3rd party pens as well
so the writing experience can be customised. Maybe this is one area where apple suffers with its locked up ecosystem.
@@arunvignesh7015 Thanks Arun, I will try it out. I have only used the Samsung pen so far, so this is a really helpful comment 👍.
Those are great idea's 👍, love the laptop idea although it would be a huge time investment. I will add them to the idea bank thank you for sharing 🙏
I have not seen this on any review or tutorial, and it is very important to me. Can you put those diagonal lines that make it like a regular notebook? If I write on a blank paper my sentences go all over the place not in a straight line.
Great question 👍, absolutely you can use lines I use them all the time 😊
Thank you for the review and comparison.
@@Waij13 Really interesting, it would be good to know your thoughts once you get it 👍
@@AlexSamuels I've been testing this set up for almost a week now and i like it a lot!
@@Waij13 Really helpful, thank you for sharing 😊. I need to get round to ordering a screen protector.
But what about palm rejection?
Great question 👍, plam rejection is so good I don’t even think about it 😂
I am looking for a tablet I guess, but I want to write lots of mathematical equations more like data science and programming , lots of diagrams sketches of algoritms etc..
Truly I ask l'y self the comparaison with paper. Thank you
You're welcome 😊
@@AlexSamuels Thanks for quick response. doesn’t Samsung ultra tab record in 16:9 aspect ratio? Does it still still give black bars on either side
@@prajganesh So it’s a good point and the Tab will record perfectly. However, where I think it has pain points is in any post production / editing. If you want to just record and post then fine but if you want to do anything more that is where a PC/Mac will add so much value. Hope that helps.
@@AlexSamuels just want to confirm. If I use screen recording in Samsung ultra, export and upload to youtube, it will be 16:9 aspect correct?
@Rajganesh Pandurangan I'm pretty sure it should work perfectly 👍
Hopefully they will have this in 5g in the states soon
Thats a really good point and hopefully, it's very odd as they do sell the 5g model for the S8+ but not the other 2 models.
Mulit-tasking on the S8 is sooooooooooooo much better than multi-tasking on the ipad.
Thanks for your review. Good job! I think Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is my next tablet. 👍
Thank you and good to hear. It is a very nice bit of kit 👍
For Samsung: Does it feel like real A4 paper without the need to zoom in and out? This feature is essential for me, as using a small tablet is frustrating. When I write on A4 paper, I can use both small and large handwriting with a pencil comfortably.
Nice review, music is distracting though.
Amazing!
👍
Hehe..just for laughs
I'm actually thinking of buying this tomorrow...are there any other better options out there for a tab this size?
😂, not as far as I know. This is the biggest and best this size that I am aware of. I keep on meaning to make a follow up to this (work gets in the way). In it I would compare the iPad and 12.9 and this. The iPad in my opinion is the better device for productivity in most ways except writing, as a writing device I prefer the Tab S8 Ultra, however the iPad 12.9 with magic keyboard (so expensive) replaces my laptop almost all the time where as this doesn't quite as much.
Hope that helps.
Good
Thanks
There is a screen protector available with friction.
Thanks Gordon, which one are you thinking of?
@@AlexSamuels Massive thanks for your detailed advice. I am going to see them in person very soon!
@@Toki1908 Good to hear, I would be interested to know what you think when you see them 👍

Samsung nailed apple..
Certainly as a writing device 😀
