the contact frame alone drops temps almost 10c. Still dont know why people dont use them on ALL intel cpus 12 gen and up. a contact frame is $11

Undervolting is key with the i9 k variants, they soak up so much wattage at load if you don't adjust anything. The i9 14900k can pull up to 400w at 100% load
Any tips on starting with undervolting? Im about to build my pc, I have all the parts including an i9 14900kf and I want to know everything I can before even putting it together
@@xxtremess sadly the i9 14900k is having issues regarding errors deep in the cpu. Irreversible damage, they will be releasing a bios update in the future, but that won't revert the damage. Both the 13th gen and 14th gen cpus are affected. Even with undervolting they still having issues

For my 13900k and 14900k I have done the following: MCE off, PL1 and PL2 limit to 225, limit P-core boost to 5.5 GHz and E-core boost to 4.3GHz, and use balanced power profile in Windows (although I do disable core parking to keep system highly responsive). Oh and just XMP on the RAM. I didn’t change LLC value. I have set voltage offset at a modest -0.010v. I have disabled the C6&C7 C states and EIST. Lastly I have locked AVX at 0 offset. I have tested on P95, CB R23 and CB R15. All great and in a mid 20 degree room, no workload exceeds 80c on package or cores. Very happy and benchmarks are very close to where they were before taming these beasts.
Update: I have now undervolted to -0.015v and set the Core limit to 300 Amps. Performance is still good.
Update 2 I have now set PL1 and 2 to 253w, power limit to 320A and left it alone.

Your cpu should NOT exceed 100c unless you circumvented thermal protection in the bios.

You can knock more off with a contact frame. I just dropped 20C under load by going from 240 to 360 AIO with the addition of contact frame.

Yea, good video quality but lacked all the crucial information TBH. He didn't mention that the cooler comes with a contact frame built in, which for anyone not familiar with those things would be a new experience. And he was comparing it with a 280mm radiator, which was not a fair comparison either.
@@bionicshah the voltage limiter also was changed post changing the AIO out, it might not have throttled with the old one with that bios setting changed first? :D
I think this is more of an NZXT AIO issue, as I have had a similiar experience with an NZXT Kraken 280 AIO. With AMD 7900X with therrmal limit set to 80C and Curve Optimizer set at Negative 20. I got NZXT AIO idle avg. temps of 69C-73C with an ambient temp of 27.8C and Cinebench R23 ran for 10 minute with a score of 26,360, max and avg. temps of 81.5C and 77.6C. After replacing with Corsair H115i 280, I got idle avg. temp of 59.3C with ambient of 27.2C and Cinebench R23 ran for 10 mintues with a score of 27,500, max and avg. temps of 81C and 76.1C ran for 10 minutes. Moreover, all this was done to replace an older model NZXT 280 that started overheating and causing blue-screens (my third by the way due to 2 failures that were RMA'ed). I have a Corsair 280 from 2017 (7 years as of this writing) on a computer connected to my TV during this same time I have went through 3 failed NZXT 280 AIO and a fourth that under performed.

14th gen do be running hot if you don't check those power settings, especially in benchmarks and stress tests.

This was all made up. He didn't add thermal paste just to make it look "hot". But that 280 kraken has no problem keeping the 14900k cool. ~20 degrees between 280 and 360 really makes you wonder "is he really that stupid that people won't see it is all made up?". Sorry but staged videos like this make me stop watching him.

I just upgraded my personal rig and used the same AIO. The AMD mounting is a bit of a pain, but it runs great! Keeps my 7800X3D nice and cool.

No off the shelf AIO can properly cool the 14900K unfortunately. I learned the hard way after thinking my first 360AIO was defective and trying another brand. Lowering power limits is what helps.

I would suggest upgrading to a larger case i feel like everything is so tight, i had the same issues and after upgrading to a bigger case and AIO everything is better now.
Although intel cpu's can now pull up to 500W! they actually solved my issue of heating in the winter. (electric bill wise)
PC is very close to me and when i unlock it i can use it as room heater while gaming. it's a win win situation.
my room heater is 2500w and my PC is about 1000w with 4090rtx. still, it heats my room just enough to keep me warm and cosy. (and not use the 2500w heater)
In the summer though, it's not as fun.

this company is pretty cool I was sent one to review on my upcoming mega pc build 14900k , 64gb ddr5 7800mhz 4tb gen5 nvme m.2 gigabyte Aorus extreme waterblock 4090 ti with a 360 AIO as well just as beefy as the Artic LF3 360 45 LG 240hz 4k display a plat 1300W psu and to top it off full tower case since 3 cases i have right now none fit both 360 AIO's only 1 on to so dropped 300 for a case that will do the job.
The cold plate is too small for the Intel CPUs and the contact frame is worse that the Thermalright one , there is better AIOs for this processor.
The rgb problems are probably because of your rgb hub, it cant give enough wattage to the fans

He explained it later in the video, he connected too many fans together which meant not enough power for the rgb
Motherboard manufacturers are to blame for the high temps! Just look at that insane default power limits! I'm willing to bet with the default Intel spec power limits your old AIO will perform good now.

I have a i7 13700k and I cant run it with anything less than a 420 AIO. Personally think it is insane to run a 14900k with a 360 aio. Arctic is amazing, it is the only aio I would buy. Even though they gave you a free 360 aio, Id buy a 420 aio as soon as you can. I game at around 50-60c with a 137k/4090 combo. I dont power limit my cpu I temp limit it, but I only do that to run benches.

This means, you dont use the full potential of the 14900K. Buy the Asus ROG Ryujin 3 360 8th Gen and you can go higher in the powerlimit, means more fps. 14900K is a hot beast and needs arctic cooling

80 degrees with a 14900k!? my 14700k hits 100C within 5 minutes of cinebench. Same cooler. My bios says 253W..
Dont change you watt before you test you new cpu cooler , because no water cooling can beat 13900k and 14900k 97c , only cooling beat is self build cooling.

Iv had a my 14900K rig for over 3 months but i decided to so the thing youre not supposed to i delidded and Liquid metaled the cpu and changed out the ihs with a pure copper one before i even put it in a rig 🤦♂️ it works 😅 wont be doing that again lol. gave it a 360 aio Arctic freezer 2 still getting a 25c-50c difference in core temps betten a few cores im waiting to see if my direct die ek 360 ships to try fix that.

Why don't you limit fps to your monitor refresh rate? There is no point getting more fps, and your pc will run colder and quieter. Also you can undervolt both the cpu and gpu.

The motherboard can run them all on seperate rgb headers

Wrong configuration on PLL and voltages.
People need to learn how to config in manual the CPU not pushing more air or mount larger radiators.
Undervolt and sweetspot config reduce unnecessary Watts and temperature and prolong boost and reduce risk of damage or IOD errore and degrading

Gpu is is getting a little toasty at times maybe an undervolt? I've cut anywhere from 100 to 150w on my 3090 ti for basically 99% of the same performance never go past 65 degrees in my nr200p case.
Ive tried an undervolt on it before, no luck

But I can’t have the water lines in the bottom if I put it on the front , they would have to stay at the top and it says it might cause bubbles and noise , the top seems to be the better way

that poor AIO is probably just clogged, it can be repaired. A 280mm AIO is plenty for like every CPU

Bro I personally undervolt my cpu I'd definitely not limit the power you definitely lose some performance. I've uploaded lots of videos that might help
