- In this video I talk about, and show, a fix for the Xbox One headset adapter. Recently the adapter stopped working properly, and no matter how many times I updated the controller it still wouldn't work. Here i explain how to fix this. Enjoy!

So mine works on my old controller but not my main controller? What do I do? Can I move it to my newer controller I use the most?

You are a life saver my man! Everything working fine before i left for work. I come back and the damn thing wouldnt work. Tried the update controller without the adapter on and reconnected it, then boom, works just fine. Mind you my controller was already up to date so i just pressed continue. Thanks man!
No Mic will work on my controller, I've tried the original Xbox Mic and it doesn't let me do anything and I've tried the adaptor with earphones that I've been using for a year and still doesn't let me do anything with it
I've never tested my mic as I don't talk with others too often while playing. But, I do know that this method at least fixes the sound coming from the headphones. Let me know if you figure something else out.
Yea i tried to update mine and even replaced my headphone and it still didnt work. imma try to get a new controller work and see if thats the issue
Is it with the Xbox one original controller or the controller that came with the console?
Hello I have a interesting problem ,, the adapter works fine on one controller (which I don’t use ) but does not work on my other ( which I use freuquently ) any tips ?
try doing the steps in the video with both controllers. I'd start with the one that works first, then try it on the one that doesn't. It might just need a software update.

My problem is that all my controllers are updated and it still doesn’t work when I update when there’s no update available and I have Reset my Xbox over a dozen times and there are no solutions for me out there. Help?

I need help. I've been through two sets of headsets and they keep cutting in and out sometimes they don't work at all. I've checked all the settings everything seems ok. Am i missing something or would an adapter help. Any help would be appreciated
If you aren't using an adapter then I highly recommend that you get one. That might solve all of your issues.
I have this same problem on my scorpio but it didn't work. Even tried on the original Xbox one. Shame I have to buy a new controller just to use the adapter on my scorpio
at 5:27 do u see how u have that volume option blacked out? how do i fix that i have a brand new recon 50x turtle beach headset with an audio adapter. works great with game volume but i can’t get to that volume option. i want to play in parties with my friends but i can barley here them over the game.

whenever i go to the part where i need to plug in a usb for the update i use the charger from my moms samsung and it says that there is no controller connected using a usb even tho the charger works perfectly fine but i still doesn’t read it

Quick question my headset works fine on other adapters but when I plug it into my adapter for my controller it plays sound through 1 side of my head set and then randomly switches to both side of the headset , and I don’t know how to fix it so it plays on both sides and not randomly switiching

my adapter used to work fine on both of my controllers but i had one i used a lot but stopped because it wouldn't work so used my other one alot and now its not working they can play sound normally when not in a game but when playing games the sound lags bad only when actually playing the game though when in the game menu it sounds fine. (my theory is i might have worn out the controller audio part because on the one i used a lot i used to use the headset they give you

My usb is plugged into my Xbox to my remote and it says there is no usb connected how do I fix this my remote has no batteries and turns on when I plug in the usb so it is working why is it saying it’s not plugged in

My adapter works, the light comes on and it fits well, but I can’t hear anything except for a little fuzz which is very quiet
You have to turn the volume up I did it and it fixed it I had the same problem

How did you get the Xbox to recognize the usb cord? I tried a phone micro usb and it didn’t work, so I bought the play and charge kit and same thing.
A couple of things. 1) if you perviously used the headset adapter with another controller and xbox system, then you may want to try updating with that same configuration. Mine initially didn't work, which is why I had to go back to my original xbox one, update, then connect to the new xbox one x. 2) Make sure your usb cord is a newer one that will support data transfer as well as charging. Not all cables are created equal. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem but I'm on Xbox One S. My headset adapter just doesn't work. I've tried updating from my pc and xbox one and sadly no luck...If you have any ideas let me know.
Did you own this adapter before you bought the new Xbox One S? If you used this adapter with the original Xbox One and a different controller, you may need to use that original setup when updating, at least that is what I needed to do.

Hmmm. This seems be a different problem than what I had. Your adapter could just be a bad one. Are you still having issues with this?

not sure if youll see this but mine all of the sudden had the same error light, doesnt respond, and doesnt show up in xbox accessories. i did the update plugged directly into the console with 2 different controllers and it still wont work. do you know of anything else that will?

Hey everyone,
I know this is a few years late, but from what I have read everywhere what worked for me has not been said yet when everything else did not work.After trying the resetting of the controller and Xbox, updating the controller, plugging the adapter in and out, and all those other things.
What worked for me was plugging the headset I was trying to use into my controller, then letting it turn on the headset until sounds comes out. After it is on unplug the headset then plug in the adapter. The mute light should be off and it should work again until the controller is turned off. Once the controller turns off these steps have to repeated.

same here joust changed Xbox one for a Xbox S... i bought december Origin Xbox stereo headset with adapter. When i'm ussing the Xbox one gamepad works everythink normaly.. But when i Turn on my Xbox S with a oring Xbox S gamepad , plug the Adapter into gamepad with headsets. it DOESENT WORK. All updates up to the date. I bought special edition Sea of thiefs gamepad everything up to the date, headset Still doesent work. But if i Try to put my Headsets with adapter into old Xbox one gamepad sound works normaly... IT MAKES NONSENCE..... it working on old gamepad but it doesen't recognises on any new Gamepads... That's bullshit it makes me so frustrated...and again Everthing is up to the date... Anyone have same problem? not even Microsoft can help me...nonsence every part is original Xbox and it doesent work.....

Nope still heavent find a solution. new updates are here and still not working.
every time i plug in my headphones it works for a little then my controller will turn off and the adapter will stop working when the the controller turns back on

Mine is wireless too., but all wireless controllers have an input for a micro usb. Find and micro usb cord (most phone cords will work) and try that. The input should be at the top of the controller. Let me know how it goes. :)

If it didn’t work for you don’t use a usb cord i didn’t use one and it worked fine
