I’ve bought two new controllers, so many different headsets, and hours of troubleshooting and tutorials just for it not to work. Almost got to the point of just getting a new one, but wow this whole time it was the chat mixer!!! Thank you so much, now I can finally play properly again

@@cvalxn4704 I found out why on my earphones if one side goes out or theres a malfunction in the circuit in your earphones the Xbox will prevent you from using the mixer option I got a new earphones and it worked

Not a problem as an avid xboxer when this happened to me i thought I'd better let others know as it took me a ridiculous amount of time to fix such an easy issue ha glad to help :)
This guy saved my life, I used to have to use my white controller because I could only hear out of that but then I lost it so now I use my black controller and the mic on it finally works because of the update.
I was worried that my headset was broken but I found this absolute life saver. I fixed my audio and I don't feel like Hellen Keller while playing games now!
You are a life saver. This solved my issue. Btw the headset chat mixer is the balance between chat and game sounds. Far right is all chat, no game sounds, far left is all game no chat. The middle is 50/50 of each.
This was correct. It was the chat mixer. The slider was all the way up. I simply moved it toward the middle and the audio came through loud and clear. It’s something I never would have thought of. Good job. 10/10

I'm a tech guy myself, and I had been looking everywhere in the settings to find a reason why my son was able to hear his party chat without issues, but not his games, or system. I even took the whole controller apart thinking he had damaged it, somehow. How I missed this simple setting is beyond me, but thanks for the vid that saved the day!

I was in the middle of playing warzone with some buddies and all of a sudden had no game volume or anything through my mic, went through all the settings and couldn't figure anything out. Turned my Xbox on and off, still nothing. Updated everything possible and turns out all that happened was the headset chat mixer somehow turned all the way up to the right. I went one click to the left and presto, everything's good
