Please help. When i plug in my headset to the splitter and plug in both ends my friends say they can hear themselves echo after they talk. I have astro a10s i need help please help
My headphones and microphone fixed themselves just by watching this video. I feel like this video is a manifestation of some sort of holy spirit. Thank goodness
If this doesn't work, then rearrange the the two outputs of the splitters to different slots. I'm sure you've tried this already, so try to constantly change the ring alignment every several seconds with the connector and the splitter by pulling it out slightly and pushing it back in.
Gets straight to the point, explains everything clearly, leaves timestamps, makes sure to point out important information. We did it guys, we found a perfect help video. Why cant all help videos be like this?
This has helped me diagnose a 2 year long fight with my microphone. My issue was that I was using an extension so my headset could reach without giving me restrictions on head movement. What I didn't know was that my extension was a 3 pin, not a 4 pin. I even bought, unknowingly, a 4 pin to 3 pin splitter because I have a 4 pin headset jack and a 3 pin mic jack. The extension worked for audio. I now know all I need is a new extension that's a 4 pin. Thank you!
Man, you don't understand how much this helps. Not only do you show a fix to the problem, you simultaneously educate me on the different type of pins and how they work. Great job man!

Just spent 2 hours messing around with settings and watching videos to try and fix this exact problem. This is the only video I found saying anything about the jack. Thanks for saving the rest of my day 👍

my mind is blown, it never occurred to me that the pins were any different, and now I see it clear as day! I have an older self-build with a built-in audio with line in/out and mic on separate jacks. This has explained so much so quickly and simply, so kudos.
Thanks for this video! I had a splitter and the mic not working was driving me nuts and it wasn't quite this problem, but you explaining the 4 and 3 pin difference helped me figure it out. The extension cable I was using to give me more room to use my headset turned out to be only 3 pins. I'll be more careful buying a replacement!

Wow! It took 2 days of research just to finally hear you mention the 4-pin issue, which was my issue the whole time. Dug up an old cable that was a 4 pin VGA cable to test and issue resolved! You are a saint!

I had problem with my 3.5 mm headphones. I watched your video and bought 3.5 mm jack splitter. and surprizingly it is working now. Thanks for your information and video.
It took me 2 hours to remember that the audio jack adapter that came with my headphones was still in the box in my garage. Thank you for reminding me about it.
Neil Enriquez thank you so much for reminding me. Luckily I still had the box and there it was the adapter. You, good Sir just saved me a couple of bucks.
To help whoever is in a similar situation to mine, I have an headset without mic which can only be used to listen to sound, so I bought a lapel mic to help with input and an audio splitter because my laptop only has one port. When I connected both to my laptop through the audio splitter, the headset worked fine but the mic wasn't working despite all my effort. Thanks to this video, I figured out that the headset has a TRS cable and the mic has a TRRS cable, while the audio splitter is a TRS to TRRS connector, that's why my headset was working but the mic wasn't, so I needed a TRRS to TRS connector to connect my mic to the audio splitter. Thankfully, the mic manufacturer added a TRRS to TRS connector to the package but I didn't know what it was or how to use it until after this video. For those that might be wondering why I didn't initially try using the TRRS to TRS connector provided by the manufacturer, well, I did try but it didn't work and after this video it still didn't work immediately but thanks to the little change I had already made prior to watching this, I was able to see why it didn't work out of the box. The change was that I renamed my laptop's mic called 'microphone (..)' to 'default microphone (...)' so I would know when my laptop is using the default mic or the external mic I provide. Thanks to this change and the video, I now saw that despite using the manufacturer provided connector initially, it didn't work because my laptop didn't switch to the external mic until I manually selected it, also I now know and understand what this cables and connectors are, which I didn't initially, leading to me not being sure of what I was doing. PS: Both the default and external mic were named "microphone (...)' so there was no way to differentiate between them, also my laptop usually switches automatically but in this case it didn't.
Could you maybe help me with my problem? My headphone has a mic but my computer only has one headphone hole. my mic doesnt work and my computer has its own bad mic that barely functions. I tried going into settings, it says its connected to the headset mic. But it still is on my laptop. Any help?
this was actually so informative. figured out that my laptop (only one headphone jack) has a 3.5 pin, while my headphones obviously have a 4 pin. looking at a converter now!

I had problem with my 3.5 mm headphones. I watched your video and bought 3.5 mm jack splitter. and surprizingly it is working now. Thanks for your information and video.
OMG! thank you! was trying for hours to figure out what was wrong on my own and finally decided to aske for help! helped immediately !!!
@@carloslacedelli8571 woah u guys are getting adaptors?
I love how I'm one of 1.6 million with this same problem. Great video btw :)
To help whoever is in a similar situation to mine,
I have an headset without mic which can only be used to listen to sound, so I bought a lapel mic to help with input and an audio splitter because my laptop only has one port.
Any help?
thanks, despite the fact i dont have one this is extremely well made and explained. New sub :)
Thank you man! I really appreciate it. Cheers! :)
Very informative, I didn't know about the number of pins
I have a 4 pin jack but the mic still does not work. Can you please give me a reason why the headset mic doesn't work
Did you figure out how it works
@@yeeterofannoyingpeople4003no but it now works because I quit the game for like 10 months and I came back recently and it works
@@S-a-v-a-g-e1 well that’s a long time… but luckily, I figured out that it’s the controller that isn’t reaching it
Fixed my issue, I had my covercase not allowing the microphone part to go in the shaft. Thanks

this was actually so informative. figured out that my laptop (only one headphone jack) has a 3.5 pin, while my headphones obviously have a 4 pin. looking at a converter now!
any rec's for a connector? i'm worried it won't work!
