I know a lot of us or the parents don't have the money to buy new controllers or headsets. they are not cheap. so I really hope this helps. Before you buy a new head set try this. Follow my steps on this easy headset fix. I hope my video helps you.

If the process of the video did not work for you try the following steps shown below.
1) take the batteries out of your controller for a few minutes and then put them back in.
2) connect headset to controller slowly click for click.
3) connect controller to xbox using USB cable/ charging cable.
4) with everything connected restart your xbox and do the process again.
If this still does not work for you try using regular headphones or earbuds to do the process. Please let us know which one work for you the video or the explanation.
If you are getting sound from only one side like I said try using regular headphones or earbuds and see how that works if it does not help check your HDMI cable replace it if you have a spare one hopefully that helps. If not most likely there is a torn wire in your headset. Good luck. - เกม

This was a really fast and simple tutorial video, thanks man. Also “Mic Monitering” is how sensitive your microphone is, so if its all the way down, nobody can here you, but if its all the way up, the mic will pick up stuff happening around 20 feet away.
