Great to see so many mk1s in good condition. They’re great cars, worth preserving 👍🏻
Couldn't agree more!
Thanks so much for an amazing day. ❤️👌
anytime buddy glad you enjoyed the day :)
Excellent day Andrew that went far to quickly.
Everything was perfect, cars, weather, location and company. 😊
couldn't agree more David!
What a good initiative
It was a fantastic day for a clubs first meet and it was a privilege to be a part of it, thanks andrew for going round my car and like you say its only going to get better, I'll need to find some leather headrests as now you mentioned it i can't unsee it, heres to the next few meets I'll hopefully be attending, we've got one of the best communities in not only the ford scene but in the car scene overall
Absolutely and long may it continue, lovely to meet you and your car buddy. What a wonderful day :)
Awesome day. Thanks for organising such a amazing meet. Nice meeting everyone and seeing all the cherished examples 😁❤️
My pleasure, I can't wait for the next one!
What an amazing day it was. And nice to meet other club members.
Absolutely buddy :)
Amazing day I'm so glad i got to meet some of the members and have a good old chat about these Amazing cars hopefully next time mine will be ready
fingers crossed the silver continues to come along nicely :)
It was pleasure to be there. These are great cars
pleasure to have you with us tadas :)
Nice video! Big fan of the mk1 really are iconic now for ford
absolutely!
I love the mk1 focus I was actually talking to my princess the other day about maybe getting another one and she never said no so I’m kinda looking but I want an automatic low mileage and owner one ! Then I’ll be along to the next meet 👍never say never 😇
There are over 30 automatic mk1s on autotrader so you may find something that's right for you😊
Automatic versions survive in good numbers, you will find a good one soon :)
Good video, fun fact… Cortina, Capri, Granada in Ghia trim all had carpeted door trims
I didn't know that trend went that far back, great info!
Wonderful day Andrew, thanks for organising.
no problem!
Cool club there :-)
What I miss: 1.8 and 2.0 petrol engines in the row. I love those engine bays, especially my 1.8 Ghia Estate, with electric sunroof, mirrors, windows, front seats, midnight black interior, moondust silver finish, standard Ghia 15" wheels.
When will you take the next Mk1 meeting?
I won't mention when MK1 Meets are planned on here. You will have to join the Facebook club and then you will access to all this information :)
Looks an interesting selection of cars there and good info on each one by you Andrew.
Maybe I need to join your FB preservation group whilst I'm in possession of this original MK1 2.0 Ghia.
I don't see why not, it will be of high interest in the club :)
ive got rear leather seat headrests i can bring to next meet
can you email me please :)
@@usuallyfixingtinkering whats your email
It's in my main page should have all contact details
Locally here in Ohio I have a 2005 Ford focus ZX3 SE they say needs a transmission, What kind of costs have you seen? Is this a common issue? You have such a great channel and great appreciation for these things is truly pleasing.
Is that the Automatic 4-speed?
@@usuallyfixingtinkering So according to the wiki there is only a 4 speed auto, and then 2 versions of the manual 5 speed, so I would assume so. I joined a facebook group too in order to look into it. The lady has 900 on it and it has been there for 8 weeks, so not sure yet about any details. Looks like it has been off the road at least since the fall.
Being that it is a US ZX-3 SE with 161K and Yellow, they starting with 1800$ and marking down to 900 is a tad pricey.
I will keep looking around. Not sure but just a guess if it is around 1k and 300 install that I couldn't just get something better at that 2100 price point considering its age.
Sorry I count get there mate ...gutted ....he'll of a turnout tho and mint vid as usual bud
You should come hopefully next time :)
Couple of things I’m noticing from the European models vs the North American models. First, I am surprised that the blue Saloon Edition doesn’t have a spoiler in the back since it seems to be a higher model. Also, cruise control seems absent from lots of trims. How about the intermittent wipers? Does it have some? In North America, it is easy to spot lower trims: no fog lights, no fancy options. My SE Sport looks a lot like the Saloon and yes, the colour is exactly the same as the reboot Escort. I know, I had one and actually, the Saloon should have had a spoiler. Interesting. Other differences, the Saloon doesn’t have the Zetec 2.0. I find that strange. Also, the door mouldings are not painted on the saloon. Strange too for a higher model.
It's very rare to find a spoiler on a saloon and cruise control on any european MK1, they were both expensive extras and saloons are not as popular in europe so nobody but a few would ever specifiy a spoiler. It doesn't look right and too sporty. Intermittent wipers are on the Ghia and ST170. Some saloons got the 2.0, some were 1.8 like this model.
@@usuallyfixingtinkering My SE Sport has a spoiler but in all other Sedan/Saloon trims, there are no spoilers. The SE Sport was indeed very rare here too. Mostly LX had very little options. I do however like my old Sport trim with cruise control and most options except heated seats and lumbar support.
Been away for a bit. Was this mentioned on last couple months video? Didn't get email invite 😳
This was only a Club meeting nothing connected to my TH-cam activities so very low-key within the Club. You'll need to be a member of the Facebook Page but only if you own a relatively standard MK1 as this is part of the specification of the club :)
@@usuallyfixingtinkering I have the car sticker but not Face book 😁
