    How do u get salt to stick, if u roast soybeans with no oil?
    Great speaker!💜🌱💜

    • @courag1
      @courag1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dr. Barnard said to boil them first, so you can add salt then. But I’ve found that though I no longer drink margaritas, when you snack on either popcorn or roasted soy beans, sit with a salt shaker and put some salt on the palm of your hand, eat them out of your hand, you’ll get the salty taste. If your palm is a bit moist from your last bite, repeat, you can wash up later.
      You can also dissolve salt in water and put it in a small atomizer bottle, then you can spray foods to give that salty taste without the oil. The things is with Lentils being a bean, I do follow to not boil with salt, but once beans are tender, they will soak up the flavor added then. With pinto beans if you add salt to your boiling water, they will never get tender. I have not therefore tried it with lentils. Once tender, if soaked in salted water, they will absorb the flavor.

      Try an Ayurvedic soup. There are recipes on line. Find the simplest one for you. I use spinach or cabbage, sometimes carrots., celery. Chop the vegies and add to a crock pot. In a saucepan, saute red onion, garlic, fresh chili pepper of choice, small piece of chopped ginger. Add a pinch of chopped fennel seeds, Cumin seeds, pinch of black pepper and himalayan salt to taste. Add the saute spices to the vegetables in the crock and stir to mix. Wash two handfuls of dried split peas and add to crock, cover with water, depending on how much liquids you want. Slow cook for 2-3 hrs. Garnish with chopped parsley . Experiment with the amount of water and vegetables you want.

    #examroomlive Q1: my husband is 33 and recently had a PFO closure after a minor stroke the reason for which doctors cannot fully explain (all tests checked out, he's plant based, not completely WFPBNO but not a junk food vegan either, perfect BMI, labs, etc.) except for pointing at PFO. He's now being prescribed baby aspirin "for life" which for his age sounds ridiculous. I've read that many plant based foods naturally contain salicylic acid, how much of what foods should he consume daily to ensure natural blood thinner effect so he can safely stop taking aspirin (it's already damaging his gut).
    Q2: can you tell me more about sodium in foods like kimchi, sauerkraut, soy sauce? Is it as bad? Should I limit my consumption of those foods?
    Thank you!

      Was he vaccinated?

    • @elenacandela7202
      @elenacandela7202 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      He got vaccinated in March, months before the incident happened. Given the most recent research, due to how much time passed, it has been ruled out these two events are related.

    • @elenacandela7202
      @elenacandela7202 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@beautiful20106 I'm not denying the slight possibility of the vaccine having something to do with it but it hasn't been proven that there is a link that long after getting the vaccine while the link between PFO (which ~20% of population have) and higher risk of a stroke existed way before covid. Hence, he had a PFO closure procedure.
      Either way, I'm not here to talk about vaccines, okay? It's not helpful at all. I commented to get a professional's advice on aspirin prescription.
