  • Today, Apple's iPhone has three cameras, but it started with just one with the original iPhone 2G model in 2007. And you may’ve expected it to continue using a single lens with the iPhone 7 Plus kind’ve like digital cameras, but this hasn’t been the case. So why exactly does Apple think their iPhone needs three cameras? Well, that’s exactly what you'll find out in this video.

Mostly you need to shoot RAW somehow. Apples colors are pretty shitty being too sharp and a weird oversaturation. On Lightroom you can take away the ProRaw Color Profile and replace it with Adobe Color.
Mine does well with the intelligent long exposure being really stable. Being stable and avoiding shakiness in general, especially on the zoom lens. Portraits bokeh kinda suck compared to bugger sensors. But it’s still there.
Maybe it’s best for Macro and Landscape stuff.

Technically the iPhone now has 5 cameras.
3 main lenses, a front camera and LiDAR. LiDAR technically is also a camera (you even can see this in Apples marketing material of the 2020 iPad Pro).
And sadly capture outside the frame is already no longer a thing... I LOVED this feature SO much but Apple decided to completely kill it with iOS14 - just about 7 months after it was introduced with the iPhone 11 series... I still don't get why Apple has done this. It was so extremely useful and saved dozens of photos I took of my dog because sometimes he is too fast and I ended up capturing only parts of him.

That combined Camera array must be the reason why with the native camera app open and I take my finger and cover the main camera. Suddenly another camera opens. This is very difficult when setting your camera up to view through the eyepiece of a telescope, for example. But if you want to blow your mind, a little bit, open your native camera app, and put your finger run up to the lens and cover it and then see what happens.

My final paper for my MGT429 class was a business study on Apple's leadership and they delayed the telephoto lens while it was on the market for Android for two years simpke because they wanted emaculate portrait shots. They take implementation seriously and makes it less of a gimmick like the 100x zoom on the S21 Ultra.

@Anand Raj I mean that's the point. Average consumer doesn't care and that's why it works. They will never admit, but hence why they have the ugly new iMacs.

@Anand Raj The ironic thing is that most Androids and Windows computers to get the same performance as an Apple device cost more now. So it amazes me how Apple is still seen as rich when almost every Joe has them. When I was in University, graduated last Friday, every student (Especially female students) has a Macbook Pro and an iPhone Pro Max of some sort. How the roles have changed. I use a Macbook and use a Tab S7 and I love both. I personally prefer iPad OS over Android, but the cost value had me take a gamble and I am happy. Hopefully it will last me 5 years like an iPad with an A10 chip still does today.

I only want to know why does iPhone 11, 12 and 12 mini have ultrawide second camera instead of telephoto… I myself would rather have a telephoto option than wideangle, like iPhone X or Xs.

You told that they needed 2 cameras for a portrait mode but now they are offering phones that have a portrait mode without 2 cameras like the iphone SE2 and iphone XR. How did they do that?

      Evolution of software

Because that's nonsense ^^ You never needed two cameras for that. Samsung had selective focus which basically is the same for many years and it always worked with only one lens.
Back with the iPhone X you even could block the main lens with you finger and still could take portrait shots because it actually only used the telephoto camera and NOT both.

@@Raja995mh33 it’s probably using the second camera for a more accurate depth of field but I do agree software has come along way!

Can you make a video on what will happen with jailbreaking after the epic and apple trial has ended. Please it’s nothing about it and I want to hear someone’s thoughts. It seems like epic is going to win this one.

Oh but the thing is that two is probably fake but one is for use because if you block two of the three lenses nothing happens but if you block one specific lense it blocks it but the other two it doesn’t block anything
