An interesting 'What if...'
Today, I'm taking a look at what Tatum Riley's role may have been if she had been present during the events of Scream 2. We take a look at how SCREAM 2 may have been changed if she'd been present also.

Tatum’s death is so iconic that you really couldn’t have her survive. However, if she were to survive, she would’ve made it difficult for any Ghostface. She was a ride or die friend. They needed to kill her to make Sidney more vulnerable. She was such a great character and truly loyal to her best friend.
She was also Billy and Stu’s biggest obstacle in getting at Sidney. She was doing everything to protect her and was with her most of the time.

Well... I would beg to differ... I don't think she was that great of a friend, she was really more obsessed with partying than the well being of her friend. Like, Sidney just went through a near death experience, other classmates has died, and Tatum is just like "Alright, lets get drunk"

It's so creepy to think that she died without ever knowing her boyfriend was one of the killers. It would be even scarier if Stu had killed her himself, but still.

I also believe it was a missed opportunity. I was always bummed there was no closure between her and her Dewey. They were siblings after all!
She didn't love, respect, care, appreciate Dewey. She died never making amends, that's just the kind of girl she was.

Tatum is a great character & I love Sidney but Tatum was actually more interesting and had more personality. Its similar to how many people preferred Helen more as a character over Julie in IKWYDLS. I like Tatum and how she was such a loyal supportive friend to Sid up until the end. She’s definitely a fan favorite but she was kinda destined to be picked off by the end of the first movie because of the horror movie stereotype that she embodies. Sassy, outgoing blond best friend of the final girl she wasn’t going to survive lol. Although I do think it would’ve been interesting if she lived and they killed off Sidney instead talk about subverting expectations.

Yup sometimes the support/secondary characters are much more interesting than the final girls, I get your point.
Scream still has to follow SOME normal things: there will always be a "normal" final girl, there will always be deaths, meaning some good characters will die. But I've been saying for a while: Tatum living (along with Sid) would have subverted expectations plenty still due to hat she embodies as you said. The best friend never lives. But I guess they kind of did that with having Gale live because she was the "bitch" character.

Sad Tatum would have been in college with Sidney the both of them with Hallie would have been a trio but Tatum would have definitely been killed off not by Mickey but Ms. Loomis and Dewey probably come across her body.

I remember reading a fanmade treatment for Tatum surviving the garage scene and it was really good. I wish I could find it, but this was back in 97 or 98 when I read it. But it’s something I always think about when I see the Tatum character. Definitely wish she would have survived.
What was the gist of it, do you remember anything? I'd love to hear it.
@@joshuahamilton2441 I remember her escaping from the garage pet door at the last minute and she was able to run away and then I remember that she ended up surviving the entire movie and Sidney ended up dying at the last minute. I wish I could find it and remember it in its totality. It was really good.

The movies never showed Dewey mourning Tatum's death, which I find weird and maybe even lazy. I sometimes forget they are meant to be brother and sister because they mentioned it once or twice in the 1st movie and never again.
They did mention Tatum again in Scream 2 b4 Randy's death...and there is a deleted scene in scream 4 deleted does talk about his sister being killed to Deputy Judy

@@jenniferbayarea5748yes! The first scene with Dewy in scream five when they went to his house.. the camera pans to Tatum’s ashes sitting on like a shelve or something. It was a really nice Easter egg. I loved that small detail.
Tatum is my favorite horror film character EVER. Sad she died in the first film but if you’re gonna go out, at least she put up a badass fight and had a notoriously unique death 💀
God I fucking love Tatum. Regardless of her status in the franchise, she's solidified herself a great cult following.
Honestly she does if she was in scream 2. Herself sidney and hallie would’ve been iconic. Sadly I feel a big chase scene between Tatum and Mrs Loomis dressed as Ghostface would’ve been iconic for all the shit talking Tatum would’ve did about Billy
I definitely would’ve wanted Tatum to survive the first scream. And then in Scream 2 have her killed. I feel that would’ve been much more impactful, you see this Friendship between her and Sidney, then they grow together from the last film and go to college together. Then can you imagine her getting killed in Scream 2? It would’ve had such a huge impact. I love Tatum she’s definitely a bad ass and had so much potential to make it to the sequel.
The only real reason Tatum was targeted was because Stu and Billy knew that she would not leave Sidney's side.
That & since it’s speculated Billy was actually in the Ghostface costume when they were in the store grocery shopping for the party. She was talking shit about him
@@jenniferbayarea5748 I don't think her "talking shit about him" was the specific reason they targetted her. They were killing whoever they needed to. Sucks that she died in general but especially to Billy. I wish she could have survived, at least enough to help Sidney.

If tatum survived scream 1 she'd probably potentially survive scream 2 as well I fear, in scream one we managed to see how quick thinking she was in a garage, and that was in a tiny crowded space, who knows what she could do if she was in a fully decked apartment with tons of vases at her disposal?
I think she'd die in Scream 4 in the place where Gale got stabbed, or she'd be in 5, and help defeat Amber after Dewey's death.
It's's definitely one of the best characters in the franchise -- because of Rose's compelling portrayal of Tatum and that memorable death scene. Hayden Panettiere's role as Kirby is the only one that even comes close to that Tatum energy -- it's not an easy character to capture. Aside from the story itself, it also would have been good for Rose. In her book "Brave," she wrote about her experience on set with Wes Craven as being a professional highlight as far as having a great atmosphere (something she would come to realize isn't typical of the business). Her then agent also screwed her over and she got paid significantly less than others (it was initially an appropriate offer, but that particular agent apparently offended the studio in some type of way; the consequence was a much lower fee or they would replace her). Luckily that didn't happen -- it's hard to picture a different Tatum.
I definitely would’ve preferred Tatum being in atleast scream 2 and 3 I felt like the chose the wrong person to kill in scream 1 Tatum was definitely a keep character because rose was iconic in that movie I would’ve love seeing Tatum (Rose) and Sydney (Neve) being a duo to take down ghost face

Tatum probably would have died probably in 2 Mrs. Loomis was trying to kill those responsible for Billy death and she successfully killed Randy but I wouldn't see Tatum making it pass 2.

I understand what everybody is saying but she ran up on the scene when they found his body there's no way she could have undressed in time then again Mickey 2 but it does bring up a good point that when he brought up Billy calling him up Mama's Boy she could have snatched him up I don't know

She was mentioned in scream 3 and Tatum didn't care about her brother, she was a horrible sister.

Tatum was probably my first celebrity crush as a kid, i always loved her in the first one for that and for her actually great character

Sadly if Tatum had survived she likely would not have appeared in any other sequels anyways considering the terrible things that Harvey Weinstein did to Rose McGowan and the way he treated her afterwards.

If Tatum survived, then I think they would’ve stuck with the original script of having Hallie and Derek be the Ghostfaces in Scream 2
Oh wow that would’ve been interesting now that I’m thinking about it like they could’ve had hallie kill Tatum because she was jealous of their friendship and if they had a few scenes together of them going back and forth I. Think the reveal of hallie being one would be shocking and great

I remember reading online that in Scream 4, there was supposed to be a scene involving Tatum, but i can't quite remember what that scene was. It would have been cool to see where it went.
If Tatum survived in Scream and then survived in Scream 2 I think she would've been the opening kill in Scream 3 instead of Cotton to lure Sidney out of hiding!
Idk… i feel if she survived scream. Her passing away with an amazing chase scene would’ve been iconic face to face with Mrs Loomis (in costume). But if she did survive scream 2 also, maybe Dewey becomes the opening kill to shock Tatum & sidney

That would’ve been perfect! I agree that Tatum should’ve died in the van taunting ghostface (instead of Randy) since that’s her personality and it would be a tragic death and Dewey should’ve died in the sequel as well, I think it would be a great buildup for Gale’s character and how she changes because of losing the love of her life early in the franchise. Def would’ve made her a character worth sympathizing for. Randy, Gale and Sid should’ve been the final 3 and somewhere in my head, in the third movie I always pictured Sid and Randy being together in the ending and married by the fourth film lol

i do believe that had Tatum survived the first Scream, that she would have wound up in Randy's victim position in the 2nd one. Her death would have hit Sidney very hard, as well as Dewey. It would also have been interesting to see how she handled the revelation that her boyfriend was a psychotic mass murderer.
I always imagined Tatum making it to the second movie and being the shocking character kill instead of Randy. Then Randy would've made it to Scream 3 and he'd be able to talk about rules of trilogies in person instead of in his video. I love that video scene, but it always felt a bit fantastical that Randy would thought of recording a video in a midst of college killings.

Tatum would have died in 2. The best friend living would have been enough of a shock/twist/change for the genre but It wouldn't have continued to work unfortunately. Also very good point: Mrs. Loomis would have found out somehow Tatum hated Billy and likely badmouthed him always (even if it was movie logic).
Most definitely and in the stab movie if Mrs Loomis saw it she would’ve went after Tatum. Idk I feel Tatum would’ve had an amazing chase scene in scream 2 and Randy could survive and just pass away in scream 3

I'd definitely say Tatum was the best friend of any final girl from the most iconic slashers.
Tatum for me fall in that same category as Kirby did in Scream 4. Wasted potential and should had been a survivor. Sadly it's a a common trope in horror movies that the "bitch" character doesn't survive. The only exception was Brooke in the Scream TV series. However if Tatum did survive the first Scream movie. I doubt she would had lived in Scream 2
I think Brooke being a survivor of the series was a way for them to fix the loss of potential from Tatum and Kirby. Plus Brooke carried the show in my opinion

Could Tatum have survived the first scream movie and at some point fallen in love with Randy? Her death couldve led Randy to survive and become the hero for avenging tatum's death and helping Sidney, plus his relationship with dewey would've been stronger. Idk sounds dumb but could be a thing.
I love Tatum, and based on the production notes, Rose McGowan could wiggle herself out of that cat door. So, let's say in that garage scene, she was able to escape through the cat door; how would the rest of the movie play out? What role would she play in the final act after she escapes? She either could have run off to safety or return to the party or returned to the party and hysterically warned everyone that the killer was at the house. That’ll change the final act significantly because, at that point, Randy hasn't given the rules of horror movies, Sidney hasn't had sex with Billy, and the partygoers don't learn of Principal Humprey’s death. So, Tatum surviving would change the final act. Let's say she doesn't run back to the party to warn the other partygoers but runs to safety; she can't be absent for the rest of the movie. So, she would have to return in a significant way. But what significant way? Dewey returns to safeguard the house but gets stabbed. Gale returns to foil Billy and Stu’s plan. Randy is alive. What would Tatum’s contribution be? It would be cool to have her be the one to kill Stu, but that’ll take away from Sidney’s ultimate final girl fight. I would have wanted Tatum to survive, but so much would have been changed in the final act. Unless someone else can outline a final act with Tatum surviving without changing the best parts of the last act. Anywho, if she had survived Scream, I think she would have been killed in Scream 2.
Tatum runs away from the garage, screaming and wailing. A couple making out find her and take her in their car to a hospital due to her slashes. After Randy explains his rules someone realises the three are gone and the teens collectively realise someone attacked her due to the bloody wounds on her one of them saw. The unimportant teens leave to see how "messed up" she is. Sidney is upset but Billy slowly takes her upstairs for sex. It makes her not as important but idk
Tatum and Kirby will always be my favs also Randy ....Thanks for this video ...Hallie was writing so lazy but I still respect Elise efforts I wish they gave her more interesting personality to balance Syd. So they would have killed Tatum in scream 2 but Syd would be more outgoing and if they had maybe put her with Randy they probably wouldn't have killed him until Scream 3 to really make a huge impact .Or they both would have died to really piss us off.. I know I'm very bias to Randy and Tatum 😅
They should’ve kept her for the second movie. Definitely feel like we deserved more of Tatum. 4 movies later and Sidney has never rekindled a friendship like that. Also I wish Sidney talked about her more.

Yeah, I feel like with her type of attitude, the change the trauma would have caused in her, she wouldn’t have been the Tatum that we recognized from Scream 1.
Honestly, it's what makes the first one so dark as some many likeable characters died as they even filmed weren't sure if they were going to have Dewey live at first.
From what I heard both Dewey and Randy were supposed to die. Dewey was gonna die when he got stabbed in the back, and Randy was going to die when Billy shot him. But since he had a peacemaker on that side of his chest they went for the other side of the chest, which is why they kept Randy alive, and it's also supported Randy was planned to die since he didn't really appear much after he got shot let alone referenced.
Great video mate. Tatum was a legend and would have been great in scream 2. If she’d been in scream 3 based on her surviving the events of scream 2 she would have scored herself a small role in stab 3 due to her brother being a technical advisor or she brings Sidney out of hiding as moral support arrives at sunrise studios and also comes face to face with her double who she gets on great with. Not the best ideas lol

If you rewatch Scream there is a scene after Tatum's death. Where you can see from the outside the exterior garage door open BUT Tatum's body is NOT hanging from the door. Just an interesting concept that most likely is a filming mistake but leaves the door open for them to retcon and say Tatum survived by faking her death. Yes the question would be where the hell she has been then this whole time. Just thought I would mention it.
What if she was in Scream 5? Teamed up with Billy and Stu, faked her own death because she was jealous and had a crush on Billy, and she’s always being overshadowed by Sidney and she wants revenge, and she’s the killer is Scream 5

Great video. One thing you were wrong about and that is she never had a problem with Billy. She even pretty much called him perfect.
I actually think they could have really done something with the Tatum character they should have not killed her off plus she would have had a deep impact on the scream two ending because she would have had the same problem Sidney did about trusting the boyfriend
Tatum was the third “killer” in 1. She gave Stu the false alibi. She kept putting Sid in dangerous positions. She wasn’t scared of Ghostface and actually spoke to him in familiar terms. (only getting scared when she was attacked). Tatum also thought Ghostface was playing a game with her in the garage which was a theme of the killings she wouldn’t otherwise know of. She was probably the loose end. In terms of she didn’t actually kill but definitely was part of the planning the deaths and would be the weak link if the police got hold of her after the killings.

I loved Tatum because she was a bad ass, but I don't think it would of worked if she had been scream2 unless Randy died in scream1, it became a common thread in every movie that someone in Sydney's life dies, "BOY IT'S HARD BEING FRIENDS WITH YOU SYDNEY WHEN YOUR FRIENDS WITH SYDNEY YOU DIE", so if no one she love died in scream1 that thread wouldn't excited.
Ngl I feel like bc Dewey survived bc of test audiences that why she didn’t live if they wrote Dewey to survive in the beginning she would’ve definitely survived. But idk how long she would’ve lived for it depends on how fans react to her.

When I clicked on this video, I forgot that Dewey’s sister’s name was Tatum. So I thought the video was going to be about what if Channing Tatum was in Scream 2.😂
What if Tatum survived for Scream 2, but she was the killer with Mickey and Mrs Loomis (for whatever reason). However there was a deal that Dewey was “off limits” in their killing spree. And when she finds out on stage with Sidney and Gale at the end that Mickey went ahead and killed Dewey anyway, she turns on Mickey and Loomis, and it’s just an all out fight between the killers and the heroes in the theatre.
And perhaps at the end when Dewey isn’t actually dead, Sidney and Gale make a decision not to tell him that one of the killers was his sister and let him believe she was just another victim (as she probably wouldn’t survive the ending fight in the theatre). It might’ve given an interesting subplot in Scream 3 if he was to find it all out.
And maybe in Scream 3, we find out Roman was the one to indoctrinate her between 1&2, she and Sidney might not have seen each other for the whole year in between and she could have mentioned she’s been living with a new boyfriend up-state, a boyfriend we find out to be Roman in Scream 3.
Obviously all just head-cannon.

Personally, I always feel like the pranksters who got expelled should have died instead, with the principal diying straight after school is over, and instead it's revealed they were the ones following Sid and Tatum with the mask, and pull out a plastic knife ready to "stab" them, and we get a comedic bit where Dewey goes to save them, and pulls out his ice cream instead of a gun. Have one of them die before the party, and be the one hung on the goal post instead. And the other one dies in the garage instead of Tatum, and instead his death pose represents more of a hanging, as both of them would be a call back to Casey's death, and what the principal said about what they deserved earlier. As for Tatum? Have her be the red hairing for the last bit of the film, and be the one to find the ghost face outfit, Dewey's gun, and blood on her hands. Billy should still shoot Randy, and everything goes the same, but Tatum should kill Stu instead of Sid, since he's her psycho BF. As for her role in 2? I'd probably have her not do much, and just get sidelined at the ending to Mrs Loomis (like how Gale was.) Personally, I'd have her help out in 3, and I assume we'd get to see the actress counterpart to her in 3, who probably dies. Tatum survives 3 tho. 4 is also pretty similar, but I think it be cool if Dewey and Gale also have a kid (and sidenote, knowing how meta Scream is, it'll probably be a daughter played by Coco Arquette lol.) And it be nice to see Tatum be an aunt, and her interactions with her niece. IMO, she probably dies in 4, as a way to make Sid more pissed at Jill, cause now her best friend is dead. And also Dewey gets to finally morn the death of his sister, and can be a perfect segway to his depression arc in the 5th film. But assuming we keep her alive post 4? Then I see Dewey and Gale never leaving each other, meaning Gale either stays in Woodsboro, or Dewey moves away. If it's the first, then they could potentially save Dewey from diying, as Gale likely aids her husband. Coco's character could also be apart of Tara's friend circle, and she could also help in 5. Tatum probably isn't in Woodsboro anymore, and probably comes once she finds out Ghost face is back. I think 5 may end with Dewey surviving, and Liv might also live (no pun intended) but they gotta play there cards right to save her, and they'd need to kill Amber during the Hospital (which they might.) But assuming Dewey stays in the City instead, either Tatum replaces him in being the only OG character in Woodsboro, or they have no one, and are screwed, and Tara is killed by Ghost face eventually. As for 6's changes, Sid isn't coming back, and I assume whether Tatum or Dewey lives, I can see Dewey in 6, but not Tatum. Dewey could help out in 6, and would be interesting to see him and Bailey's interactions. I assume both being dad's with daughters, they would become close after Quinn is "killed," I assume the two would talk alot, seeing how they both want to save there kids. And I can see Bailey being the one to kill Dewey, by gaining his trust, and taking him out. But hey, those are mostly theories TBH. And another route is to have her die in Randy's place, or Hallie's place, or Cotton's place.
I know they talk about her death in the deleted scenes, but they should have figured a way to incorporate her death into the movies. She was Dewys sister and seems like he just “got over” her dying without any on screen coping.

Best scene in Scream 2 is the sequel discussion. Mickey is right when he said Godfather part 2 is the best sequel ever made. He never says why it's the best made sequel.
Does anyone else wonder what Tatum’s head would have looked like after her body was removed from the garage door? Also, this lack of continuity and poor editing has always bothered me: When Sidney stumbles upon Tatum’s body, we only see one of her arms hanging down, the other one appears to be stuck in the garage door somehow, but in her actual death scene, we see both arms hanging down.

It would’ve been cool to see her like a in a hospital setting with a surgical wrap or hard plastic mask

honestly tatum whooped so much ass in her movie and she put up the biggest fight against ghostface in any of the films
I do feel like Tatum couldve brought Sid further out her comfort zone but Halle simply wasn't fleshed out enough to really say. Tatum benefited from a smaller cast whereas Halle was hurt by too many new characters. We never really got to know any of Sid's new friends in part 2 and she never had any more in subsequent films.
I definitely think Dewey should've just died instead of Tatum in the first Scream. I liked Dewey but he legit contributed nothing to the franchise as a whole. Scream 4 was his time to shine and it still took Gale to figure out the situation. She was stabbed and probably on pain medicine and still had more mental clarity than the Sheriff. Thats really saying something.
Just imagine she survive the first movie, goes crazy, become Ghostface herself, and Dewey ends up having to kill her.

I do see her character being affected mentally by the killings in the first movie and I do think it would be amazing to watch her go through scream 2 with her mentality deteriorating.
The actress who played Tatum (Rose Mcgowan) said that they could have had Tatum have an evil twin sister that would be out for revenge (maybe dewey because he wasn’t there to save her) and she points out that tatum had twin beds and not just one bed and maybe her twin was incarcerated or something.

I want Stu to be in scream 5 so bad. Cuz i feel like he survived that TV. And there a scrape story way back when that he could of been a killer again.
I know I just watched this now even though this was posted a year ago but I have some pointers I think 3 so here me out plus you don't have to agree if need be.
1. Director Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson only made Scream as a one time thing cause they knew that this movie was a hit or miss 90s slasher movie and Wes even said that he hasn't made a successful flick in a long time since his last movie Shocker back in 89 was a box office failure which in my opinion i love that movie but anyways it was never planned on having a sequel let alone a Trilogy until the movies success then Miramax decided to give the greenlight to have Wes start production right away even though they just finished the first one. Wes, Kevin, and the cast were shocked that this movie was a box office smash that this was the moment of a lifetime and it did however changed the course of horror genre.
2. If Tatum were to have survive i wouldn't say Hal wouldn't be sidelined but Tatum would have Replaced Sarah Michelle Gellar Tatum probably would have gave film school a chance cause of her knowing some horror bits like the garage scene or when she explained that a woman can be the killer like we saw now with scream 2 with Nancy Loomis aka Debbie Salt. But the movie would of have been rewritten in a direction we wouldn't have to this day.
3. Randy screwed up his Survival Theroy as he said a Virgin would most likely survive a horror flick which of course thats a lie in some cases cause of Sid and Billy in the bedroom but if that had not been just her but on Randy's take he would of survived need be since he said don't drink or do drugs plus no sex. Well he did state in Scream 3 he had sex With Karan Colchek his past would of said big no no but then he did drink at Stu's Party so technically his Theroy was false. If you seem to think your not a target and believe to ignore and live your life the way you perceive. The killer would of target you if you had any affiliation to Sid anyway plus Micky was the supposed copy cat and killing people in order. Even if Randy didn't open his mouth about billy he would of died anyways he was technically the Tatum of Scream. Funny thing is that we all probably would of thought that Cotton would of had a bigger role in Scream 3 after the success of Scream 2 but evidently not which to me he should of as he well to me he was important. But let me say that even though It still bugs me to this day that Randy died in Scream 2 I personally would of givin him a chance to live and maybe get killed off in Scream 3 instead to me he's just so interesting and I think a fine addition to the Scream franchise. Plus he would of been in all 3 movies instead of 2. I know he was in 3 but as a brief Cameo which to me doesn't count.
No one else thinks it's weird Tatum had two beds in her bedroom? I always assumed it was her younger sister's bed, but Tatum & Dewey didn't have a younger sister. 🤦♂️ I'm surprised that was never addressed in the movies. 👩

i do wish we could see tatum one more time because her fight with ghostface proved that fighter side of tatum, but her and stu's death was the best in my opinion and i can't change that. also, she influenced the character development for sidney. i don't think any other character would pursue that much of an impact.
also, scream 2 focused on gale's development. however, if she survived the first movie, i'd believe tatum would've distrusted gale and dewey, randy and tatum would've had a closer relationship as friends. sh!t maybe take the phone from randy if she has to take a shot at ghostface (that'll give randy's development in scream 2) but i don't think randy would've had a pleasant role in scream 3 if he lived. he'll probably have cotton's role in the opening scene and cotton will be put into the mess and start an application to be a bodyguard for all i care which i do wanna see ngl.
I just wish she survived so we could see her reaction to Billy & Stu being the killers!

I feel as those it would've been even scarier had Tatum's character lived and in the sequel she teamed up with Billy Loomis' mother to have a girl killer moment. I mean she did mention Basic instinct in the first movie. I think she would've been great because getting redemption for Stu's death. She is very close to Sidney. She would target Gale Weathers. I mean it would've been awesome because Tatum's character is sexy, fun, loyal, but easily could be a flip flopper. Mickey's character in the sequel was trying way to hard. I think his character shouldn't have been the killer but, very much could've been the guy trying to go after Tatum. He doe have some bad boy tendencies but, nothing like Stu and that could make a good death scene for Mickey up against Tatum's ghostface. What do you guys think?
I think if Tatum survived, she would've been killed halfway through Scream 2 or been the opening kill for Scream 2.
Knowing her and her personality if Tatum was smart *learning from the experience of the last movie* and survived, she would’ve have a red flag warning or a bad vibe from Debbie Salt aka mrs loomis *plus she along with Sid would known who she was* or anyone that at that point. The only people she would trust is Sidney, randy, her brother and gale *reluctantly*
I feel like people would start learning to observe people and how they behave when the one character disappears whenever ghostface shows up
Honsetly one thing I would’ve love if randy, Tatum, and Sidney form a group name and named it the dumbass trio *but have either Tatum or Sidney be the voice of reason*
But the big question would be, if Tatum survive, would she consider/suggest for everyone not to split up and not go anywhere alone and saying this in a aggressive and mean girl way *like how ghostface called Randy and everyone was seeing where the phones call was coming from leaving Randy alone which cause him to be killed* because I can totally see Tatum telling Randy not to be a dumbass and wonder off because she know the killer pick them off one by one or smth like that
Another interesting what if would be: what if Cotton had survived his death in scream 3; even though he is not a major league character like Sidney and the others; I think it would have been interesting to see how he would have reacted to Roman being the mastermind behind the whole thing or even just seeing a more full redemption arch for him would have been nice; because I thought that his story was compelling, that he was a man wrongfully convicted of murder as well as pawn and a scape goat for Maureen's real killer.
I loved Tatum. She was apt, what a waste. She would have dominated in 2 and would have been a great sidekick, like Billy's boyfriend.

I am in the minority. I never liked her as a character, her death was also hilarious. The only thing that I would have changed is I probably would have made her death more meta. I would have moved the line when Sidney says "What's the point? They're all the same. Some stupid killer stalking some big-breasted girl who can't act who is always running up the stairs when she should be running out the front door. It's insulting." to later in the film and have Tatum running up the stairs about to scream, Ghostface servers her vocal cords she dies on the stairs body dragged and dumped out of a top floor window in front of Sidney as she says this. - I would also take more suspicion off of Billy as he arrives in front of her with no way it could have been him killing Tatum. He gains Sidney's trust from there and we realise how fucked up Stu is in the end killing his ex and his new girlfriend all in the name of fun and devotion to Billy.

Tatum surviving into the next film would've been great. Sid would have one of her old friends along with Randy for emotional support and Dewey would still have his sis. I don't think she'd like him and gale together though. Lol. I also would've liked to have seen her reaction to billy and stu being the killers in scream 1.

If Tatum had survived the first film, I believe she would have survived the second film as well. Personally, I think she would have been the first victim to die in Scream 3 though. Her death would have replaced Cotton Weary’s death since she had the closest connection to Sidney and most likely have known where she was at the time. Her death would’ve made Sidney come out from hiding.

Not that I didn't like her character, but there is a videos all you Scream fans should check out. It's basically arguing for the theory that Tatum was in on the murders with Billy and Stu, but was killed off because of being a liability and she fulfilled her purpose. Which was getting Syd to the party. I must say I was sold because she has some dialogue and moments that are very suspicious.
