This Problem pertains to a whine/whistle coming from the Transmission output shaft bearing. This is an expensive and complex repair and the factory warranty expires in less than 2 years. I just traded in my Ranger because of this transmission. There is also ANOTHER TSB on this transmission.
I had symptoms and contacted my dealer. I referenced the TSB and my symptoms. They said bring it in and they'd "take a look at it".
I've been driving Ford products for over 20 years, but traded in the Ranger for a 2024 Colorado Trail Boss. This is my first NEW Chevrolet EVER. Love it.
More than a little disappointed in FORD.
I have this issue. 2020 F150 XLT. Truck is just after the build date of the TSB and Ford of Canada & dealership refusing to help. They keep throwing SSM 50355 at me. Been to 2 different dealers. Whatever happened to the days of listening to the customer, diagnosing the issue and repairing it. SSM & TSB's are good, but also offer fallback means to not repair issues if they are deemed normal operating characteristics of the SSM quoted.
I had this issue, at around 20k miles. Dealer took care of it no problem.
Does it have to have any symptoms to get it fixed?
Mine is a 10/19 build date but I’m not noticing the noise. How important is it to get it looked into?
You would probably hear it. The dealer can check your exact build date
Does it sort of sound like a turbo? I have a 5.0 that makes a turbo like sound in lower but even high speeds
@@C_BrucehardI mean the turbos sound like turbos lol
Very important, you don't want that bearing to seize up
Shoulda bought a Ridgeline
Another computer simulation gone wrong over a $25 part. Back in the day they would drive a new transmission or engine for 3 to 4 years before it went into production. Ain't new technology wonderful?
