      Here and now is gour education . Learn here and take what you know to school . Then you can educate the class and the school . This isn't a dig , just a gentle nudge to get the brainy ones to start the right chain reaction :) have a wonder-full day !!

      DarkstarAndrew01 Gosh, I wish I could do the same, am frozen in fear, panic attacks......ironically I have no present circumstances that should encourage such feelings but pass experiences that hold me down. I think am predisposed genetically, as well. Courage, comes from old French which means to have a bigger heart.

      @@luguy8347 Gotu Kola is REALLY SUPER helpful for anxiety, and fear. Jiaogulan tea also helps Anxiety dramatically without pharmaceutical drugs. With a lot less side effects too! I take 4 capsules (2g 3x a day, for 6g Gotu Kola daily.) and I had severe Anxiety.

    Thank you for this eye opening Ted Talk Steve Chao. You are an incredible journalist and a great man.
    Thank you for trying to make the world a better place, by the stories you tell, by the corruption you see and expose, by listening to those who desperately need a voice and so many other news stories you have told and made documentaries on, all by initially overcoming your own fears. It is a great lesson for all of us.

      It would break the system.

    • @aylbdrmadison1051
      @aylbdrmadison1051 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The system was purposefully broken starting in the 80's. Teaching this could repair it, and every other societal problem we have, from discrimination and oppression, to poverty and unfair taxation. But it would mean leaders would have to start setting good examples, and I don't mean not getting some head once in awhile. They need to start trying to bring us together as a team, not divide us so they can conquer/oppress us.
      Edit: @Jeevan Kylash : I assumed you meant the public school system, my apologies if that was incorrect.

    I am one of the few people who reports many bad activities in my town to the higher government agencies. I also speak out loudly on Facebook regarding such matters other people are too cowardly to speak about. I am regarded both as a threat to the bad and a hero to the good. I don't care how I am perceived. All I care about is balance and social equilibrium.

    Amazing presentation, amazing talk, amazing story variations to convey your message fear is a habit and the only way to replace a bad habit with a good one it involves a 3 step process
    1. Motivation, to start doing the habit
    2. Determination, to stay consistent building your habit
    3. Habit, after 60 days of fighting through it's now a habit.
    The hardest part is starting and staying consistent for the first 1 to 2 weeks from their own it's still challenging since it's a inner boxing match that your having with yourself it's been beating you up in till now but it's time to get revenge and beat it consistently for 60 days intill you win.

    • @aylbdrmadison1051
      @aylbdrmadison1051 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I completely agree! Although I think you left out the most important component: _introspection._ Without the willingness to look at ourselves truthfully, we are doomed to continue to make the same mistakes. Add that to your three steps and I think you have the workings for personal success. The more personal successes we have, the more societal success will follow.

      This presentation is of incredible import presently and without question applicable on a global scale.
      Currently the political and environmental issues which prevail and confront ALL of humanity are a manifestation of our historic inability to overcome the fear to QUESTION the true motives of those who purport to represent us politically......the ensuing ramifications are plain to see!
      Never has it been more important for us ALL as a collective TO BE BRAVE and to question our leaders and their motives with a view to creating small opportunity to salvage not only the dignity of humanity but a future worth investing in........
      Thank you Steve.

    It is not only fear that stops people from speaking truth to power but it can be self-preservation. You don’t tell your boss he/she is abusive until you have another job. Fear can be a smart warning.

    Look at the prolific hate fear has inspired in the US over the last 2 years. We are far too close to repeating some of our worst past mistakes. It is a tall order to overcome centuries of demagoguery, especially while we have an active movement for regression in these areas

    • @aylbdrmadison1051

      That's easily one of the best descriptions I've heard about our nation in a long time. We have been turned against each other by our oppressors. I am not sure why many don't understand that. _Divide and conquer_ may be the oldest tactic in the book of oppression.

      tRump is officially being pushed for impeachment now that Speaker Pelosi has made the public declaration. We are finally going to see the most corrupt president in America's history ousted and tried for his high crimes. I only hope that the world can forgive the United States for allowing such a tyrant get away with such atrocities.

      _Self fulfilling prophecy._ I grappled with that concept for years after a good friend told me about it long ago. But introspection is the way to defeat it, and a better understanding of both of those things and how opposite they are has at least made me happier with who I am.

    "What researchers have discovered also is that our natural proclivity is to hightail it out of there when we have a threat. That's our natural instinct, and the more often we do that, the deeper this neuropathway becomes, and the more ready we are to runaway everytime we face a threat.
    But researchers have also discovered that the exact opposite is also true: if we choose to fight, the amygdala develops a new neuropathway, and the more often we choose to stand for what we believe in, that neuropathway deepens.
    Meaning, we can rewire our brain. We can unlearn fear. So, how much do our fears shape who we ultimately become?
    The answer is - only as much as we allow it to." - Steve Chao

    Fear is the opposite of compassion.
    *Compassion = Strength.* Like the strength of heroes who selflessly defend others.
    *Fear = Weakness.* Like the fear of racists and bigots. Basically the intolerant people of the world.

I've read at least 15 comments of yours and they are always this simple and utterly devoid of anything that requires any thought process whatsoever. You are nothing more than a conservative shill... Now I'm not saying that is _who you really are,_ through being introspective you could be so much more.
