    The problem is that refugees don't want to go to certain countries in Europe. They only want countries such as Germany, Italy and the UK. For example, I live in Portugal and, as a country, we have expressed that we are willing to receive some refugees. However, few of them come here.

    • @nisoZ
      @nisoZ 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      you understand that they get to Italy and Germany first due to logistics? Nothing in a refugee life is by choice!!

    • @miguelteixeira1158
      @miguelteixeira1158 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@nisoZ First, refugees do have a choice. You always have a choice. The consequences of staying in their home country might be too big but they do have the choice to stay even if it ins't the best choice.
      Second, they aren't powerless. They might not have the easiest life but they do have power to do things. For example, they have the power to leave their country in search for a better life.
      Third, just because they get there first doesn't mean they can't"move out". Some of them do. What I'm saying is that some simply don't want to. And I know this from experience

    Rich countries are so disproportionately rich it's not even funny. The only way capitalism works for everyone is if you have to spend money to make money and the relatively little amount the rich have to spend by paying minimum wage etc. to make the ludicrous amount of money that they make should be a crime. If the lower class had more money more people would be generous with it I'm sure and charities like Doctor's Without Borders etc. would be able to help out countries in crisis without needing the government to give any more to foreign aid (though they definitely should).

    • @samuraiwolf8200
      @samuraiwolf8200 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      that is the will of those that control money, that is what they want , for people to suffer. After all , 'money' is just papers and numbers. If they would care about life and people and love , we would not have been bound by it , but again if they did that , they would lose satisfaction of superiority on the lower money people and they would lose their pathetic influence.
      That makes them the lowest' people' on the face of the earth.
      But it is ok , since the universe that we are part of , that gave us live , is balanced. They will get what they deserve.

We have a lot of more important humanitarian issues, like wars and starving people, that requires urgent strikes. Rakesh, in many cases when politicians mess, they send in the soldiers who proceed to bomb and destroy everything in their path that the politicians could not touch . The resident have no choice but to flee, and then the world lethargically awakens and mobilizes humanitarians to go clean up the mess and help the traumatized, brutalized and often sickly and poverty stricken people to return home - only no homes and then assist them to rebuild livelihoods. I love this job! Seeing people revive is deeply rewarding. It is not just the money, or posh hotels, conferencing as one post has put it. We touch and transform real human lives, and I can tell you stories that would bring tears to your eyes.

      I am a humanitarian David. You should see the number of reviews, internal and external audits conducted per donor funded projects. In fact in my view, time spend on these eats into project delivery time but we understand they are very necessary. Sometimes incidences that highlight some few cases of malpractices here and there is over hyped to the extend that the majority good is lost in the brouhaha that is often generated and blown out of all proportions by the skewed press. Believe you me, if there was no NRC, DRC, ARC, UNHCR et al in Somalia, Northern Uganda, South Sudan, Yemen, Myanmar, Nigeria, Colombia, Venezuela, Haiti etc.; then the recent immigration issues in Europe mentioned in this presentation by Jan would look like child's play.
