What's wrong with my Suzuki Jimny?

All my friends think I'm mental for wanting a Jimny. It's such a cute little power house that can go almost toe to toe with cars 10x it's cost.

I understand matt when filming carwow and his own TH-cam channels he has editors to help. But honestly his effort goes unkown. He continuously provides content for us and practially never gets a day off. Keep in mind it's for FREE

Just bought a Jimny a month ago after seeing your review of the jimny agains a Jeep and a Mercedes. Already put into it 1000km and climbed 2 volcanoes with it. Awesome little machine!! Can't wait to see the ideas you got to improve it. (A central arm rest is much needed!)
Forget about sports cars and those big engines the jimny is one of the collest cars i have ever driven..!!!😍😍love it

Definitely worth it Matt. Are you considering a lift and tyre upgrade in the future to prepare for some off roading? Maybe a 2” lift with A/T tyres. Nothing overboard but enough to do it properly. Maybe an upgraded front bumper with proper towpoints. Looking forward to future videos 👌🏼
I'm glad to see more of the Jimny. I want one badly, but they are so hard to come across right now. The only one for sale in Denmark has increased it's price by 5800 pound..
Anyway, it is nice to be able to see Jimny content in the waiting time :) it's a good idea to wrap it, I thought I would do it too.
When I bought a brand new Polo, I decided to wait with any additional protection cover such as ceramic coating and, because of that, I can see a lot of imperfections already, though it's only 30k km (about 17,5k miles). So, I would say it was a very good decition to take your Jiimny for detailing works.
You’d be amazed how many brand new cars are like this. Looking at new BMW, Jaguar, Audi etc they nearly all have swirls in the paint. It’s definitely worth having a good detail at least, the cars so much easier to keep clean afterwards.
Mat you should hypermile the jimny to reach some sweet off road terrain

Looking forward to seeing the "after" video. I had no knowledge of swirl marks and paint imperfections on new cars so it's all very interesting. Love the Jimny, great looking car.

Hi Mat, the Jimny looks like a lovely car, I never really considered one until I saw yours, it looks really nice inside and outside, PPF is a really good idea for protecting your car, as you said, if someone keyed it, which hopefully they won't, all you need to do is replace the piece of PPF that was damaged instead of having the car resprayed, and maybe just maybe mind you, that person that put the mattress outside their house had arranged a bulky uplift, you have to leave these things where you would put your bucket for emptying so that they can be picked up easily, that's unless the rules are different in London

As for the mods and other bits beside the lift kit and supercharger, if you get them done by the Suzuki dealer the warranty isn't void. I have just ordered mine with almost everything you can get. In NZ there's the Sierra and JX and JX Safari Special Edition model. I've bought the JX Safari SE purely because it's the same price as the Sierra with no extras. The 3 main differences are no fully controllable climate control (all basic turn dial controls in the JX), no headlamp washers (but why do you need them anyway, seems like a waste of time on a Purpose Built 4WD), the headlamps are standard Halogen not LED and the infotainment system is replaced with a nice Bluetooth CD Headunit. Easily accessible physical buttons to use so no need to spend a bit of time with waiting for the Touchscreen. I've got mine in the same colour, the Pearl Blueish Black. I was originally going to get the Jungle Green. Decided against it.
I would like to get the protective spray for the underside and inside of the chassi rails. So if anyone from NZ sees this post and you know of where to get it done, please let me know where in Dunedin i could get it done.

I've also heard that the film tends to go yellow after a couple of years and that it is high maintenance if you park it outside because dirts and rain marks can stay on the ppf perminantly if not washed regularly
Having Jimny PPF'd is a good decision. Having it done at Topaz is the best decision. Congratulations... Hope Yianni won't be upset with that. Every car deserves such treatment regardless of how much it costs.
Aren’t you best getting this undersealed too? It’s likely to rust like crazy going by previous Jimnys and the fact you’re taking it off road..
Rust isn't a Jimny problem it's a UK/EU Problem.
I've owned Jimny's nearing 20 years old with hundreds of thousands of Kms in Australia and no rust.
My most recent one was an 01 Jimny and it only had a small amount of surface rust underneath, As the previous owner used it to put his boat (tinny) in the water for 8 years
@@JesseKnowles1999 Well to be specific it’s a “Jimny in UK/EU” problem. Jimnys certainly aren’t the only car to have rust issues over here but they suffer worse than a lot of other cars.

Hey Mat if I can give you a tip for your Jimny after 2+ years and 70,000+kms in mine, It would be to get some seat-covers.
The cloth fabric stains really easy and the edges of the seat wear as you sit on it and hop in and out - And I'm no bigger than you.
Supafit or BlackDuck both make airbag compatible seatcovers for the Jimny.
Would've been the first thing I did to my Jimny if someone had've told me earlier.
Otherwise she's flawless mate! Enjoy it.

That is some great work to get done, However I bought a new Suzuki vitara 1.4 turbo in that Pearl Grey and black roof, it has absolutely no swirl marks, When it did the 10 000km service I did however suggest that they not wash my car, my car is hand washed and waxed every week by myself with a bucket using a sponge and high pressure washer, I do agree with the two bucket method
And if you are wondering I do allot of driving, some slight off road, I did the 10 000km service only 3 months after new, its all in how you maintain your vehicle, I'd however love to do a clear wrap like that

The old Black paint situation Mat, you only have to look at the paint and you get marks and swirls.
Black paint shows more dirt and swirl marks than lighter colours. My step dads black Bentley had a complete detail before it was given to us and it still had swirl marks even though it’s a brand new car. We also got a new dark grey Toyota Aygo and you can’t see any swirl marks, even under a torch.

This is why when i bought my GR Yaris,.. i wrote a letter to the importers NOT to prep the car. Instead send it to me with all the protective plastics. Dont wash it. They did and after i pull off all the plastic and prepared the car myself .. paint work was pristine.

The Jimny is one of the coolest cars to come out in recent times irrespective of price.
The Jimny is not a recent car. It has been produced since 1970 with nearly 3 Million sold worldwide (194 Countries).
0:43 well yeah... it's pretty common to leave large items like mattresses outside the house, especially during lockdown. its easier for councils/bin men to collect them, instead of having to come into the house.
Can’t believe you’ve left the dealer sticker in the back window. We used to always take them off, & my wife always mentioned it to the dealer. Don’t know if it’s coincidence but our last two new cars haven’t had one in the back window 👍🏽
Black color always attracts more dust to it and its hard to wash it off. The best way is to do coating on the car paint.

Always enjoy your videos I think you should change the title though cos it makes it sound like there is a problem with the paint when there isn't anything it came out good compared to as he said some supercars. All black cars have swirls it's really hard to not have any at all unless you are a detailer. A lot of manufacturers use quite soft paint as well which doesn't help I have a 26 year-old Mitsubishi in silver and the paint still looks brand new 🤣👍 looking forward to what they do to it and the wrap you're getting
