Disney killed my interest in Star Wars but creators like you make my day and bring that long lost love for the galaxy back. Thank you. Loved this film.
As an OG Star Wars fan, I've seen just about everything that's been put out, own almost every S.W. novel there is, well over 600 books in my collection at this point. EXCELLENT JOB, Ethan.... LOVE THIS!!!!
I love how you focused on the plot, dialogue, and good acting. A very wise move to go minimal on the costumes, and use of FX budget only when you needed to. Absolutely excellent job on choreographing the lightsaber fight.
Such a great fan-film! Love how this story wasn't JUST about cool armor and lightsaber fighting, it had a reason behind the fighting and why they got killed! This could be true lore for Star Wars
Thank you Jerry! It's probably the most complex story I have directed so it was a big learning process. We tried our best to make it an original story but still include all the aspects of Star Wars that everyone loves.
This is pretty damn good for a fan film. Costumes were a bit pedestrian, acting could've been tightened up a bit. But really well done. I've been a Fanboy for life and I can accept this easily.
Good story. Good sound design. Good camera work. Only criticism I have is with some of the fight choreography and some of the acting but overall a very solid fan film. Well done guys.
@@EthanBerkey I only noticed something was "off" when the stormtrooper was bringing the briefcase forward. But don't take that as criticism. Character animation is HARD. I'm learning it myself. But as far as integrating them into the scene (focus, black levels, etc.), it's near perfect.
@@hkh_vfx Oh by all means, its true and I hate that scene hahaha! It was tough because I don't have motion capture so I was working with a combination of blending Mixamo animations together and hand animating him take the case out. You can easily see the dirty transition between his walking while taking the case out. I am super interested in capturing my own motion capture data in the future, especially if we have more time and a budget. I always appreciate good criticism - it helps me learn what other people notice and what I should not try to get away with. The audience is the most important art director!
I see huge potential in future film making. The technological progress democratises the movie industry so that everyone can create complex and immersive action and your ensemble is a good example for this potential. great work, hope to see more of it. diversify the Star Wars Universe
Amazing fan film! I love how they made the sound of the star destroyer coming out of hyperspace delayed due to the sound waves taking a bit to reach them. Such good attention to detail.
Usually the acting in films like this are pretty poor and they get to the action too fast, and dialogue between phrases of action are too short, but you guys absolutely nailed it from the costumes and props, to the action, to the VFX and finally the dialogue and acting, this was top notch from top to bottom.
The quality is just insane. The cinematography is real film level, the practical effects look better or at least on par with official Star Wars projects, the story is enthralling, and the acting is fantastic. This isnt a shortfilm. It’s a film.
Honestly, I don't mind that people keep saying poodoo in StarWars fan stuff as if they're saying "Shit." because it's funny. But they are taking it from when Jabba said it as poodoo being fodder. That being food, though eventually food ends up as what they would be thinking but the translation for the joke is incorrect. Still funny though.
Awesome work, if you guys did this well on your first shoot can't wait to see more. I love how Disney has billions of dollars and their productions SUCK. You guys bring Hope for the force once again. Lol
At this point in time it is only by the share brilliance and creativity of individuals like yourself that keep my interest in Star Wars alive and I'm pretty certain that I am not alone in that assessment
Writing is PHENOMENAL for a fan project. Thank you, looking forward to the next one. Love the original characters and setting fitting into the larger SW rise of the empire timeline.
When Disney has destroyed what was Star Wars, the fans always manage to carry on the legacy. I tip my hat to you, fantastic job. Edit: I loved that touch of realism when the Star Destroyer arrived at the end. The boom came AFTER we saw it, thanks to the atmosphere. Brilliant!
I found this very intriguing, not sure if you’re aware that there is a fan film awards show going on right now, you may be interested in entering. The Fan Film Director’s Choice Awards
I have a few things to say about this, for one, this short show is good for us to see what it means to be a neutral Jedi. When you are a Jedi who has learned from a master, and has lost one. You find yourself lost, and need to find a way, therefore you go out and become something like a rogue like Jedi who know both dark and light side of the force to survive the way you want to
The final battle was really good. And I actually prefer the way the lightsabers looked to how they looked in the Obi-Wan series. Also, the delay of the sound when the destroyer showed up is something a lot of film makers miss. Good job.
Nicely done, and thank you for proving my point I've been trying to make on clownfish, starwars theory and so many other channels, by making something by fans for fans. Even with a limited budget you made a amazing short story and I'd like to see a follow up. Keep it up guys you did great 👍
Well done! GREAT camera work, Great VFX, I like the story line and pacing! Visuals were pretty wizard! What camera are you shooting on? Visuals are great! Also where was this filmed? WOuld love to work on something with you guys!
Hey thanks so much that means a lot! We used the Sony a7s3. This was filmed in Provo Canyon, Utah! I would be so down to collab with you I just checked out some of your stuff and it looks awesome! Cheers.

I’m so glad to hear that! Thank you.
fan films are so much fun to make too !
Well said 👏 👌 👍 🙌 😌 🙂 👏
@@EthanBerkey does anyone know, if anyone in Ohio is shooting these type of films?
Disney has killed many many many things not just your interest
This is a pretty high-budget low budget Star Wars fan film!

I always love me a well made short film of a good Star Wars hunt.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've been waiting SO long for this. Well done guys (and girl... Ryann). That was very well done!
What a masterpiece! Thank you for all the hard work put into this amazing film!!!
Ooh I like this story and potential for a sequel
I loved when Kyle Katarn's evil twin said "I would say I don't make the rules, but......... I kinda do." That line and acting was so goood!
This is pretty damn good for a fan film. Costumes were a bit pedestrian, acting could've been tightened up a bit. But really well done. I've been a Fanboy for life and I can accept this easily.
And yet amateurs with a small budget showed Disney how to do it. Great job folks.
This needs more views. Awesome job. Appreciate the work that went into it.
Very impressed! The visuals were awesome.
This was excellently made and the choreography for the lightsabre battle was brilliant.
I'd love to see this as a series.
The filming style was great!
Loved it.
“Just chill”! 😂
Very well done! I liked how we hear the star destroyer break the sound barrier after we see it arrive...that was a nice touch!

Solid work! Some of the better effects, fighting, and acting I've seen in a fan film in a while!
very well done. Got a laugh out of me at, "Is that all you got?" "Nope" (punch) Interesting and well paced.
I'm glad you liked that! Haha thank you for your comment.
Get these guys a budget and prop master, they could do some very interesting storytelling
Haha for real bro. Thanks for the support. Stay tuned for new short films where we hope to acquire a decent budget for!
A Bounty Hunter with Force like abilities. Sign me the hell up.
Very very well done! Just another shining example of how the fanbase will keep true Star Wars hopes alive. KKennedy and her posse should takes notes.
absolutely amazing!
That's the problem being a spy. He have the chance to upgrade his Force Deflect ability.
