Disney killed my interest in Star Wars but creators like you make my day and bring that long lost love for the galaxy back. Thank you. Loved this film.
As an OG Star Wars fan, I've seen just about everything that's been put out, own almost every S.W. novel there is, well over 600 books in my collection at this point. EXCELLENT JOB, Ethan.... LOVE THIS!!!!
Such a great fan-film! Love how this story wasn't JUST about cool armor and lightsaber fighting, it had a reason behind the fighting and why they got killed! This could be true lore for Star Wars
Thank you Jerry! It's probably the most complex story I have directed so it was a big learning process. We tried our best to make it an original story but still include all the aspects of Star Wars that everyone loves.
I love how you focused on the plot, dialogue, and good acting. A very wise move to go minimal on the costumes, and use of FX budget only when you needed to. Absolutely excellent job on choreographing the lightsaber fight.
@@EthanBerkey I only noticed something was "off" when the stormtrooper was bringing the briefcase forward. But don't take that as criticism. Character animation is HARD. I'm learning it myself. But as far as integrating them into the scene (focus, black levels, etc.), it's near perfect.
@@hkh_vfx Oh by all means, its true and I hate that scene hahaha! It was tough because I don't have motion capture so I was working with a combination of blending Mixamo animations together and hand animating him take the case out. You can easily see the dirty transition between his walking while taking the case out. I am super interested in capturing my own motion capture data in the future, especially if we have more time and a budget. I always appreciate good criticism - it helps me learn what other people notice and what I should not try to get away with. The audience is the most important art director!
Usually the acting in films like this are pretty poor and they get to the action too fast, and dialogue between phrases of action are too short, but you guys absolutely nailed it from the costumes and props, to the action, to the VFX and finally the dialogue and acting, this was top notch from top to bottom.
Amazing fan film! I love how they made the sound of the star destroyer coming out of hyperspace delayed due to the sound waves taking a bit to reach them. Such good attention to detail.
I see huge potential in future film making. The technological progress democratises the movie industry so that everyone can create complex and immersive action and your ensemble is a good example for this potential. great work, hope to see more of it. diversify the Star Wars Universe
This is pretty damn good for a fan film. Costumes were a bit pedestrian, acting could've been tightened up a bit. But really well done. I've been a Fanboy for life and I can accept this easily.
At this point in time it is only by the share brilliance and creativity of individuals like yourself that keep my interest in Star Wars alive and I'm pretty certain that I am not alone in that assessment
Writing is PHENOMENAL for a fan project. Thank you, looking forward to the next one. Love the original characters and setting fitting into the larger SW rise of the empire timeline.
Good story. Good sound design. Good camera work. Only criticism I have is with some of the fight choreography and some of the acting but overall a very solid fan film. Well done guys.
When Disney has destroyed what was Star Wars, the fans always manage to carry on the legacy. I tip my hat to you, fantastic job. Edit: I loved that touch of realism when the Star Destroyer arrived at the end. The boom came AFTER we saw it, thanks to the atmosphere. Brilliant!
I have a few things to say about this, for one, this short show is good for us to see what it means to be a neutral Jedi. When you are a Jedi who has learned from a master, and has lost one. You find yourself lost, and need to find a way, therefore you go out and become something like a rogue like Jedi who know both dark and light side of the force to survive the way you want to
Well done! GREAT camera work, Great VFX, I like the story line and pacing! Visuals were pretty wizard! What camera are you shooting on? Visuals are great! Also where was this filmed? WOuld love to work on something with you guys!
Hey thanks so much that means a lot! We used the Sony a7s3. This was filmed in Provo Canyon, Utah! I would be so down to collab with you I just checked out some of your stuff and it looks awesome! Cheers.
The quality is just insane. The cinematography is real film level, the practical effects look better or at least on par with official Star Wars projects, the story is enthralling, and the acting is fantastic. This isnt a shortfilm. It’s a film.
The "prisoner" looks like Charles Martin Smith, actor in the '80's in tv & film...played Toad in American Graffiti , the short Treasury Agent in The Untouchables, etc.
Nicely done, and thank you for proving my point I've been trying to make on clownfish, starwars theory and so many other channels, by making something by fans for fans. Even with a limited budget you made a amazing short story and I'd like to see a follow up. Keep it up guys you did great 👍

@@EthanBerkey does anyone know, if anyone in Ohio is shooting these type of films?

Very impressed! The visuals were awesome.
This is a pretty high-budget low budget Star Wars fan film!
I loved when Kyle Katarn's evil twin said "I would say I don't make the rules, but......... I kinda do." That line and acting was so goood!
Dude, this was absolutely amazing, this channel is going to blow up. Keep up the awesome work!
Amazing!!!!!!!!
I've been waiting SO long for this. Well done guys (and girl... Ryann). That was very well done!
What a masterpiece! Thank you for all the hard work put into this amazing film!!!
Some good elements and a strong finish-thank you.
🔥🔥🔥 love this!
This needs more views. Awesome job. Appreciate the work that went into it.
This was excellently made and the choreography for the lightsabre battle was brilliant.
Really good!!
It’s going be lit!!!!!
I always love me a well made short film of a good Star Wars hunt.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Solid work! Some of the better effects, fighting, and acting I've seen in a fan film in a while!
I'd love to see this as a series.
The filming style was great!
Loved it.
Hyped for this!
Very well done! I liked how we hear the star destroyer break the sound barrier after we see it arrive...that was a nice touch!
absolutely amazing!
Amazing work! Liked the repurposed adding machine. And great job with the CG stormtroopers.
Thank you! I knew someone would have to notice eventually haha but we did the best we could with no budget. Glad you liked it :)

I see great potential too! It's a shame big production companies look at movies with their $ eyes instead of their imagination today. Thanks, Marcel!

And yet amateurs with a small budget showed Disney how to do it. Great job folks.

You mean, kinda like what Paramount did to Star Trek? Fox to Firefly? People have a need to make their own stories, not have stories thrust upon them.
