Vader almost certainly wouldn’t just slaughter Rebel prisoners on Yavin 4 with no other objective in mind. He would have them interrogated first, trying to discover where their ships had fled to.
Love It! Animation is incredible! Remember, poor General Dodonna was captured in the evacuation of Yavin and sent to Lusankya, where he would stay for over 7 years until Rogue Squadron finally found him.

Amazing job! Loved the sense of scale and movement of every ship. In my opinion they do not use to get it right on fan films but you did it! Also the lighting and look of the planets! I hope it gets many views and appreciation from fans. You deserve it!
I was just watching ESB the other day and during the Hoth evacuation the thought crossed my mind, I wonder if this happened on Yavin too? Especially since it’s kinda established that Vader’s Tie does have a hyperdrive, he could have run off, gathered the fleet, and come back to surprise them right after the medal ceremony.
Pretty good fan movie. The only issue I have with it is that Vader's Advance Model TIE Fighter was not disabled by the collision with the other fighter. Vader was eventually able to regain full control after the collision, with his engines still functional. In addition to that, Vader's TIE was equipped with a hyperdrive, unlike the standard TIE fighter, so it is likely that with the Death Star destroyed, Vader's only option would have been to jump to the nearest Imperial base & report what had happened at Yavin to the Emperor.
This is GOLD SQUAD! Even with a slight and welcome retcon (originally, Vader just jumped into hyperspace after he managed to stabilize his tie-fighter), you brilliantly mixes the atmospheres of Episodes IV and V, as well as the Vader we all want to see. Perhaps one way to show the hardship Vader went through (and which above all shows our favorite sith's irritation afterwards) would be to show him staggering out of the smoke-filled cockpit of his damaged tie-fighter.
Your video undoubtedly presents us with a good Star War, in a more satisfying way than much recent canonical material. It brings true TESB and NH vibes. Love the intense imperial march!
I'm pretty certain we saw Vader flying away from the destroyed Death Star at high speed, but his TIE Advanced was never shown jumping to hyperspace in the aftermath.
