Men that build are socialised with other boys from a young age , sports archery hobby clubs .Women who were sheltered were taught to pick flowers ,like other girls and indulge in self care . This is sadly true. My first husband knew I was independent and confident, wore makeup, and was the anti-pick-me. However, during our marriage, he endeavored to grind my self-esteem into dust. He literally tried to convince me to shave off my hair, stop wearing makeup, dress dowdily, and be mindlessly submissive. I asked him why he married me, and he said, “Because I knew I could change you.” We are divorced, I am happily remarried. He is also remarried, but repeating the same behaviors and still upset that I obtained a divorce.

@@misslove6256 "Happily remarried" in womanese means "I was the perfect partner and wasn't in anyway to blame for my divorce". Chances are she hasn't remarried or if it's true she's remarried then they are a couple of months into the marriage. It will unravel just like the first one.
One thing modern women don't know is there's no such thing as a "happy marriage". Marriage is more about sacrifice. This is because marriage is a pillar of Patriarchy. This automatically makes a feminist mindset to be incompatible with marriage. Marriage is obsolete in the West. The sooner men and women realise this the better for everyone.

@@greatstoic2297 womanese??😭omg. i dont think thats what she meant. imo gender doesnt matter when it comes to bad character so sometimes the man can genuinely just be a crap person and thats an ok thing to accept. happy marriage is very possible. yes sacrifice comes with alot in life but that shouldnt make the marriage miserable. maybe you meant theres no such thing as perfect marriage. im an american girl and im 20 so idk if its just an older generation thing to "leave the west find better elsewhere" but i dont agree but also thats really just a matter of opinion i guess so i hope you find what youre looking for
i personally believe marriage should be done with someone who holds the same values as you and respects you, who loves you, who befriends you. someone you trust yknow but idk maybe we have different concepts of love and marriage

The only thing I disagree with is that our grandmothers and great grandmothers were pick-me's. They did what was necessary to survive in a world where they had little to no agency. They suffered through social injustice, gender discrimination, abuse, cheating and marriages that should have been illegal (based on age gap) to survive and build legacy the only way they could... through children. If they had been given a chance, like us, I'm sure a lot of them would have jumped at the opportunity to have fuller lives. To call them pick-me's is just insulting.

People underestimate the mental traumas associated with years of brutal brow beating narratives (and laws), shaming and physical violence. I can't say many would choose to take advantage of the current opportunities. As we see many detractors far removed from that era that champion those chains. 3:56 She summed it up well. Trevor Noah cited his mother saying that some men want a woman to submit but don’t want a submissive woman.
‘The way my mother always explained it, the traditional man wants a woman to be subservient, but he never falls in love with subservient women. He's attracted to independent women. "He's like an exotic bird collector," she said. "He only wants a woman who is free because his dream is to put her in a cage.’
And a lot of those podcasters before their fame weren’t in positions to get that submission from women organically with social status and other factors. Hence why they cry about those women being ‘gold diggers’ because most women wouldn’t ’submit’ to a man that won’t provide for her snd potential offspring comfortably at the bare minimum. Let alone their subpar personalities and lack of respect or care for her.
So they turned to shaming and gaslighting the independent woman to settle, lies and manipulation to try and trap her into either a relationship or decreased ‘value’ (getting her pregnant) and only glorify the pickmes on the screen.

Can be explained easily, pick-me's are Barbra the builder's, alpha male's are exotic bird collectors.
Pick-me's don't want a toxic man - they want to fix a man so he'll give her the validation she requires.
Alpha men want to be able to scream from the top of the mountain, "hey, I'm so high value - *I* make *GIRLS* who I don't even like, *WORK* to date *ME!* ", their masculinity is validated by having women chase THEM.
Even though pick-me-girls want to fix a man, alpha men aren't the kinda toxic they're pining for - because alpha's can't be fixed, they just wanna wreak havoc, so there is no finish line or endgame for the pick-me to receive her trophy.
They want two different types of validation that they wouldn't receive from being together.

Not "accomplished something worth having" more like they accomplished something to stroke their ego about. As soon as they achieve that, a lot of men leave because they got what they wanted. It's like when guys act like the "nice guy" because they want s*x, not an actual relationship. As soon as they get s*x, they switch up on a woman. Though, some men do stay with the woman they broke because it's also a flex to them, and now they get to walk all over her.
Men want to increase the population of broken women, hence why they go after women that are independent, not women who are already pick mes...wow, men are really disgusting psychopaths.

They're energy vampires so they want someone whos a good source of energy aka healthy and happy but also need them to have low boundaries because people with strong boundaries will naturally reject narcisstic energy. The only time you really get that rare combination is when women are young and naive. The younger she is the less likely she is to be super jaded and bitter, but she also hasn't developed her backbone. As women get older she's either a bitter pain in the ass or a healthy happy person whos had to understand that boundaries must be implemented to preserve her peace and a narc cant do nothing with either one of em lol one is a not a good source of energy, the other wont let him feed on her.

Also have autism and ADHD, 33 now, and looking back, yeah, I was a pick-me. But I think it happened largely because of the neurodivergency. I had tons of anxiety, super shy, super awkward, absolutely no sense of self worth, I spent my entire school years basting in the vibe that nobody liked me. So when I started to have a mature body and certain men starting paying attention to me and acting nice to me, it seemed like a miracle. A group of people suddenly liked me, I was so happy, and because of my social naivety, pretty unable to read into what those relationships actually were. After so many years of only ever getting positive attention from skeazy guys, and only having skeazy guys as friends, I just.... leaned into it, I guess.
So glad I finally learned enough about life to cut those creeps off, and to stop blaming women for not wanting to be my friend. The guys didn't want to be my friend either. Still can't really make friends too well, I'm mostly alone now without the creeps, but I love other women even if they don't love me, and being alone is better than sacrificing my self respect and my morality just to have people pretend they care and like me.

We’re the last of all people, people who have been through trauma and fought hard to find our ways to ourselves and through all the bullshit that’s holding us back, who should be out here resigning ourselves to lives of loneliness. I advise that all of you study human behavior, signaling, communication and body language, and use what you learn to gain broader understandings of yourselves and the worlds around you, and, when you’re ready, go into them fearlessly. You deserve and abundance is yours.

Because so often I'm not really convinced these type of men actually like the women they are trying to get, they just want to conquer them, dominate them, because deep down they can't stand that these women don't want them.
It's not about love and like, it's about insecurity and their unwillingness to look inward and work on their insecurity so instead they project it on the women that caused them to feel insecure.
So they'll never go for a pick me, because pick me's never trigger their 'I want this girl to fall for me' need because they aren't looking for validation, they're looking to feel like the bigger man.
I've noticed this irl as well. I've had guys tell me I wasn't their type, only for me to reply with 'that's okay, you're not my type either' for them to completely loss their shit, and suddenly they had to make me like them. Suddenly they had to make me want to date them.

I always have to disagree with “why someone cheats” nonsense. Cheating happens for a variety of reasons. Reasons like, “my partner no longer cares about me” as well as “my partner is just a piece of crap who gets off on cheating”. The reasons are wide and varied. Some more legitimate than others.
Every time I was ever cheated on, the first place I went for blame was myself. What did I do wrong? Turns out… I was doing a lot of things wrong. Rare cases were the “I didn’t screen out the cheater quickly enough and got invested too quickly in them”. But, the women cheating on me were for things like, “I didn’t treat them as a person”, “I wasn’t supportive enough”, “I was using emotional manipulation to get what I wanted”, “I didn’t offer something she needed in the relationship”. You know what? Same reasons I would cheat, too. Woman A was a dead fish in the bedroom? I’d meet a woman who was super enthusiastic in there. Woman didn’t validate or reciprocate the things I was doing for her? Woman comes along who did, and I’d start stepping out.
Most cheating tends to happen because the relationship is already on the rocks and in decline. Other cheating happens because someone is genuinely a pos.
But, I was at least lucky. I got tired of having to balance multiple sets of lies, so I just resolved myself to end relationships when it was obvious my partner wasn’t interested in providing what I needed. It was much easier. Much faster.

    • @CitySlickerButtKicker

@@CitySlickerButtKicker if you remove the reasons the act happens, then you can’t fix why the act happens. Which… not very smart if you are a person who wants to solve problems. Such a mindset punishes people without understanding why those people do what they do. It’s shortsighted at best and utterly incompetent at worst.
If you don’t know why people would cheat, how can you ensure someone wouldn’t cheat on you? If you don’t know why you would cheat, how could you ever prevent that behavior in yourself?
Every terrible act in the world can have a positive justification for it. That’s reality. “Don’t kill people”. How do you defend yourself against someone trying to kill you? Or your culture? Your race? Your SPECIES?
There is nothing wrong with justification. Or, even, promotion. Context is what is important.
Lying is wrong, right? Then why do you lie to friends and family all the time about “little white lies”? Or, is that okay because you’re justifying the lies as “then I won’t hurt them”? Everyone lies. It only matters WHY they lie.
If you don’t like being cheated on then you need to do two things: learn how to spot serial cheaters and don’t date them. And, treat your partner well so that they don’t see a new partner as an upgrade to what you provide.
All it takes is understanding why cheating happens and learning from it so it doesn’t happen to you.
Or… you can do what you’re doing and remain a bitter helpless victim for all eternity and every relationship you have will likely result in your partner cheating on you because of that serious personality flaw. I’ll let you decide which of those is the better option. Especially since victimhood is a social currency these days.

All of this dialogue about men 'should' be like this and women 'should' be like this ignores the fact that we are humans with distinct personalities and preferences, and that healthy relationships are based on love and secure attachment, not some kind of emotionally detached checklist with rules and expectations.

I often see in the comments of pick me girls, “I know you’ll be married one day” I think the main reason is let’s face it….. they aren’t the baddies. They are not the super model stunning women. I do think control is part of it. I have noticed if the pick me is HOT. She is rarely single but always disrespected and bounced around from relationship to relationship. “ always cheated on, always preferred but never cared for properly”
And men and women that are healthy, would not touch either with a 10ft pole

I was an IG model for years, never had an issue getting a man. Quit when I found a good man! With a really kind Christian family who knows my past. If a man really loved you he'll forgive you for being ratchet. No one needed to be picked.

He forgave you for being ratchet? If I'm understanding you correctly you were an IG Model who never had a problem "getting" men, but you decided to quit being an IG Model when you found a "good" man? My question to you is why would he had to forgive you for being an IG Model when that had nothing to do with him? If he actually loves you, you wouldn't had to quit being an Instagram Model. You said no one needed to be picked, and don't take this wrong way , it's very clear that you needed to be picked. I wish you well. I hope everything works out for.

Because males DO NOT LIKE PICK ME'S males like a challenge. I figured out the code. When certain males speak ladies. when you hear them say certain things they are actually projecting so you can interpret it as such and understand what he is actually saying.

Most men don’t want pickmes because if they did, most pickmes would be married. These men actually want the type of woman they mostly complain about and come up with online terms and strategies to try to get her to lower her standards for him. Most want that conventionally good looking girl that doesn’t want him. However, I do think lots of pickmes do get picked, but it’s either temporary or they get taken for granted big time. Just speaking in general terms. Healthy men and women do exist.

    🤔 hmm
My dad told me that in his youth especially 20s and 30s that the women ALWAYS did everything. He said he didn’t ask , he said they would buy him stuff , and basically wanted him to marry them . Marriage for women was frowned upon if wasn’t married by a certain age. He married my older half siblings mother , because really he was a decent country boy. I’m not saying that bc he’s my dad. They ended breaking up for personal reasons not because of him.
Then , he met my mom. She was broke , living in the hood , had multiple baby daddies and he married her because he told me he didn’t want me to be a “bastard” so 3 months before I was born he married her.
Long story short he went for the challenge bc she was hood AF and acted as such, and he brought her out of that to the surburbs.
Men all over don’t truly want a PickMe, it’s all gaslighting.

Heavy on the they want a challenge. I’m a Chicago leftist yuppie feminist with tattoos who drinks and goes clubbing. I currently have a man who live in the middle of nowhere Michigan who wants me to move out to live with him and be a trad wife hyper Christian and homeschool his children when there’s literal women out there who want the trad wife lifestyle but he doesn’t find them attractive. He wants someone who doesn’t share the same beliefs as him to “capture” and make who he likes.

It could all be so easy 😂 instead of bashing other women they could just be with a pick me girl and build an empire with her. But what makes alphas so dangerous is that they are predatory, toxic and violent. They cannot mould or exert power over a pick me girl. They want an independent beautiful woman with dreams and ambitions that they can break and make them submit to them. Please be safe out there, ladies.

I beg to differ with the first young lady, in the blue top. Our grandmothers and great grandmothers were not “pick ME“, they just did not have access to what we have access to today. Some of the strongest, smartest, wisest, no nonsense women are our mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers.

Notice non of these podcasters are 10, 15, 20 years married. They don’t have on men and women who are 10, 15, 20 years married. When they do they get destroyed. Don’t know why young men take these forever a bachelors opinion seriously about relationships. Don’t make no sense.
