    Thank you for putting out this type of video. There aren't very many other crochets on TH-cam willing to show what they're making, how much they sale on it for or how well it's doing and I appreciate all that you are doing to put this information out there for all of us that are watching.😁

    I love how candid you are- even with your very own patterns when they don't sell well. It takes a pretty high level of integrity to just put that out there. I feel like a lot of people would like to pretend that their own designs are best sellers.

    • @katiebeingcreative
      @katiebeingcreative  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I do my best to share anything and everything someone just starting out would want to know! Even if it is my own patterns that aren’t selling well I still want people to know what is selling well and what isn’t :)

    I think the claw machine would work great as a way to get people to your booth. Simply have people play for free - maybe give them 3 chances to win. And if they don’t win give them a $5 coupon for an item in your shop and they can look around and maybe just buy something 😊

    • @katiebeingcreative
      @katiebeingcreative  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Interesting idea but I'm planning to keep it how it is because it is pretty easy to win and the claw machine items still take me a while to make so I can't really let people play for free

    • @macymiller3417
      @macymiller3417 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It’s good in theory but what I’ve heard is that the claw machines are super easy to win. Not like a regular claw machine where it can be hard. So she’d be giving away $10 to everyone and thats not really reasonable.

    Thank you again for putting all this information up. I am always wondering if my prices are high or too low or somewhere in the middle. You putting the information out there is so helpful to kind of give a price point. I know from doing craft fairs for a few years now that each fair is different and honestly each area is different in what they are willing to pay for an item. It's not always an easy thing to know what people are willing to pay. I'm so glad that you did well in this craft fair. Good luck in your next one!

    Hi Katie. Thank you for going into so much detail about your making/prep/experiences, it sounds as though you are learning a great deal about what your customers like to buy and it's really interesting. There is so much work involved too from the making, to the spreadsheets, to the displays - you've done a great job. I'm in the UK and am toying with idea of doing some kind of crochet craft stall, at the school that my sister teaches at, in the summer. You've inspired me! Keep up the great work, and fabulous videos. Best wishes from the south coast of England!

    Happy 3-year youtube anniversary Katie! Wow! You almost doubled your net profit at this market. Fantastic! I am surprised the duck with frog floatie, and the cookies and milk didn't sell yet. Those were 2 of my favorites when you showed us. Super cute. You likely know this already, but keep in mind April is close to Mothers Day in May. I'll bet those butterflies and flower key chains will sell in April. They'd make great gifts for moms and grandmas, too. So happy for you and your successful sale at the market. Hello katie, thank you, lots of fun with your cute crocheted items and market ideas. As far as pricing a handmade item subscribers should understand , can vary state to state. I used to help my friend in N.Y. With her candle and soap business, it did very well at the different markets in the N.Y.,but then she moved to Florida ,she realized she wasn’t selling very many items at markets using the same N.Y. Prices. My friends business is doing much better since adjusting her price point a bit.❤

    Hi Katie, I have gone to markets so far and I have an observation I would like to share. I know you were disappointed that the smaller, cheaper items did not sell at times. I have found that adding keychains to smaller items increase the functionality and are thereby more valuable to customers. Some persons would even request that I add a key chain to certain items. I believe it’s because the items are kind of an ‘awkward size’ they do not see the playability of the item. If you try this out please let me know how it goes. No demands here😂. Keep up the good work, you are doing an amazing job and blossoming into a create entrepreneur.❤

    Hi Katie,🤗 I was wondering how your craft fair was. I thought your bigger plushies would do better. They were so cute. Unfortunately people don't pay what you think they are worth. You could sell more items if they were a little less expensive. Just a thought. I make smaller items and I make more than an item that is large and more expensive. I hope you take my advice with a grain of salt. I do have a little experience with craft fair and what sells. I have done it for about 5 years. I only want to help you sell more and make more items that sell. I do know that every craft fair is different. You never know who will come to your table and what item they will want. I do love your plushies. You have talent for sure.

    Pricing is what's kept me from trying to sell anything. I made a couple of pillows and my friends keep telling me to sell them. But....the materials cost $40. I feel weird asking anyone to pay $40 for a pillow in the first place, on top of money for my labor. It takes me about 10 hours to make 1 pillow and even at $10/hr which is very low in my opinion that $140 for ONE pillow! I would simply pass away asking anyone to give me that much money 🥲

      Totally understandable! That’s why I try to stick to smaller plushies because some would be over $100 when they take a long time to make but it’s also important to get your time and material costs out of the items you make so it’s a hard balance

    People are more cautious with their money right now.

    Im learning that its not worth making big items if they are not going to sell.

      Yes I'm learning that too! At least a lot of the bigger items are good to have as eye catching pieces!

      @@katiebeingcreative Yes! So making a couple of bigger items serves a purpose.
