I love your market videos! I think your items are priced perfectly! I sell items the same size for around the same price, and no one has ever complained. So all the haters should just leave.
Thank you so much!! I’m lucky that I never get many complaints and when I do they are almost always on videos. I like to try to keep my comment section positive so that’s why I make the disclaimer at the beginning on the video 🥰
Thank you for sharing your pricing and all the information! I am learning so much from you. I always watch everything you post! I go back and watch your how to video's all the time. I am new to amigurumi and your experiences have been so helpful! I have found several peope that I have pick and choose from but you have the BEST content for my liking 👍. Your amazing. I like how straightforward and to the point you are as you present your information! I never feel like I need to fast forward through.... but I do rewind to get every detail ingrained 😂. Thank you for sharing your business expertise and being so kind! Love you❤
Aw thank you so much for your sweet comment!! It means so much to be to hear that my videos are helpful and that you are enjoying them! Thank you so much for being here and for watching! Much love to you too! 🥰❤️
I think it really depends on where you are selling your items. For me, your prices are high but I know it’s worth it. I sell at a farmers market each Saturday and my items I know from experience would not sell as high as yours. You are doing a great job!
That's sad people hate on small business videos. I had no idea. Maybe it's jealousy. FYI, for the bulky plushy yarn you use, purchased eyes & marketing materials, I think your pricing is right on point. You totally rock this. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! I’ve been lucky and only ever had a few people say negative things but I always like to mention it in videos like this because I want my comment section to be positive place! 🥰
Ok I was so happy to meet you. I live my taco and peach drawstring bag. I use it to keep my quarters in for a game I play. Your a doll. Love your energy. Lora
I looked for the grogu pattern in your google doc and I didn’t see it. I love the actual look of the one you used. Most look awkward. Also I will be in Tampa this weekend. Maybe I will run into you.
Hi! I just found your channel! I’m a fellow Floridian fiber artist! That said, have you ever considered a yarn swap? You could also give away some patterns/yarns!
Your Baymax and Yoda plushies are so cute! Is it acceptable/legal to sell them since they’re copyrighted characters? I’m a beginner crocheter and haven’t gotten to the point where my stuff is good enough to sell so idk how it works. Do certain companies not care? I heard Disney has been cracking down on people selling stuff from their IPs without permission, so just wanted to point it out to make sure you’re being safe and not putting your small business at risk!
Katie, I don’t need the signs, but I have a question, I am disabled so I can’t do the festivals and things, but I do want to start an Etsy shop, do you think you sell enough on Etsy to make it worth it?
Etsy can definitely be worth it but it is harder to get customers to find your shop. Promoting outside of Etsy, like with social media, I think is super important to actually get traffic to your shop. It can be difficult but it works differently for everyone so you could always give it a try! :)
the people who make silly comments about hand made items are totally clueless about craft, you can never compare a hand crafted products to mass produced products. It's unfair to expect crafters to price their items ridiculously low that they don't even recover the money invested in making the product...if you feel the price is high you're simply not the target market so just keep scrolling for cheapies
Where do u get your claw machine from? If u don’t mind me asking. I do sell too. And I think that’s a cool idea. and your prices are your prices. I was doing a pop-up shop just last week. Somebody came and complain that my prices were to high and that they will never pay $10 for a crochet item. And I asked her if she had the time to set down, so I can show her something. I ended up show how much I have to spend to get the material that I use. Long story short, she ended up buying 3 of my stuff.
I sew and also crochet scrunchies. I feel sad whenever I see crocheters sell their scrunchies waaaayyyy too low in comparison to the handmakers who sew theirs. Crocheting takes time and you can actually injure yourself. It's just fair to price your items, considering your time/skill, materials, overhead expenses (we use electric for the lights. Yes? Gas to go purchase materials or go to market?), and of course TAX.
Totally! Those are all things that a lot of people don’t consider when it comes to pricing handmade items. We’re not crazy, our prices are actually reasonable when you break it all down!
@@katiebeingcreative Yes. People tend to compare the prices from offshore made items, which is totally unfair. There's a huge difference in your currency. You guys use dollars. Most workers from these offshore countries will be lucky if they earn $100 a month, with a family to feed. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think Americans will be able to live for a month with just that. I'm from a 3rd world country in Asia, but consumers from my country still prefer those from China, 'coz they're still way cheaper, even though they have to cross vast sea to get here. 😥
I love your videos, and I appreciate you sharing your prices so I can get an idea of what to price to price my crochet things. But if you are going to post a public video, expect people to say rude things. There are always going to be nay sayers, and that is good, who wants every one to agree on everything? But deleting people’s comments is stupid, I’m sorry, but it is. They have the right to comment on your video however they want. It’s called free speech, and I can’t believe our generation are being taught that saying what you think is bad
Trust me I expect the rude comments and have gotten my fair share of them in my time making videos. And yes people have the right to their own opinion. However, just because they have an opinion that does not mean they have to share it. Just like if you’re having a conversation with someone in person and they all of a sudden called you ugly, you aren’t going to like that, but that may be their opinion. And just because they have that opinion it doesn’t mean they need to share that, please it’s a rude thing to say. I specifically make that disclaimer in any video where I’m sharing prices because the last thing I want is for another business owner to be reading through my comments and to see a comment saying my prices are bad and now they think their prices are bad too. Because there’s no such thing as a right or wrong price! Everyone crochets at different speeds, pays different amounts for materials, lives different places, etc etc. So yes, everyone can have an opinion I’m just asking that everyone be nice when sharing theirs, and if they aren’t I won’t hesitate to delete comments because I don’t have my comment section to become a negative space for anyone watching my videos
@@katiebeingcreative I agree that people don’t need to share their rude comments, but if they want to I believe it is their right to. Freedom is being taken away slowly but surely in this country, and I would hope you aren’t wanting to contribute to that. Like how Elon Musk bought Twitter and has finally brought a free speech platform back into existence; I’d hope you would want the same. But deleting people’s comment tells me otherwise. And although I love your videos, I don’t want to support anyone who is contributing (even in a small) way to everything that is bringing our country downhill
Well then please don’t support me if that’s what you believe I’m doing. This doesn’t need to get political. This is just crochet. I think I explained myself thoroughly and I have the right to control comments that are on my own videos. Again, it is not to limit anyone’s freedom of speech but it is to create a safe and positive environment on my channel
@@katiebeingcreative you made it political by limiting what people can say. Saying you are creating a “safe place” Is just lying to yourself to justify limiting what should be a free speech platform. They shouldn’t even have the capability on TH-cam to delete people’s comments. And it’s not just crochet, you are influencing anyone watching your videos, and that’s why it’s frustrating to me. I’ve seen people limiting comments more and more. So I had to say something, it’s not against you in particular, and I’d hope you would consider that maybe it’s not right to limit people’s “speech” on a public platform
You’re obviously not understanding where I’m coming from, so please let’s just end this here. You can choose not to support me if that’s what you want to do. But there’s no reason for both of us being upset over this so let’s just end this now

Typically smaller items sell more often since they are normally cheaper, but every market is different :)
