Me and my 7 year old grandson both have the Roscoe 7 in Florida green, I just got his for him and he loves it. He was able to handle it great on the trails. I have had mine since last Oct and have almost 2,100 miles on it, love it. It's a great trail bike.
Oh my gosh this trail looked tight and wicked but you and that bike did fantastic and also your camera guy great filming !!! Had me on edge a few times ! Quiet a great team you two ! ❤
Great video🎉 I love this bike! Part of me would love to to get my hands a Roscoe 9 tan and OD Green fade with the speckles. Also that Bike I believe has a Fox 36 fork which is pretty much the price difference in the bikes. FYI I am 5’7” with 30” inseam and longer than avg arms this bike is perfect for me if your about the same size. You may want a small or Med with shorter stem
Great video! I have a Matte black Rosce 7 and I did some upgrades already: installed PNW Range Gen 3 Handlebar and Range Gen 3 40mm stem at 35mm diameter, installed the PNW Loam Gen 2 dropper post lever, Specialized bennies flat pedals and RaceFace getta grips. I still want to upgrade the brakes to the Shimano Deore 6120 with the MT800 rotors and the Marzocchi Bomber Z1 air fork at 150mm. The frame is awesome and I think once completed it will be a good "hardcore hardtail"
Just picked this up a couple of weeks ago, for only $1399. I’m loving it so far! I’m a new mountain biker and I can definitely say that it’s miles ahead of my old academy bike lol
I must say, lately I've seen a couple of Roscoes in newer reviews and the welds look quite a bit rougher than mine which are almost smooth welds. I've seen it like that in two videos already while it looks more refined in older ones. Just an interesting observation.
@@ElevationEveryWeekend Just took a look at mine just to make sure and for example the bulgy welds on at the front near the steerer tube look far better. Only thing which isn't super clean on mine is the triangle at the seat tube. But still better than this one and the on the one from another review.
It is a major upgrade in many ways over the Marlin 7, and is actually designed for hard trail use. The Roscoe 7 would be as low as I would go in the Roscoe line, which is the bike I reviewed for this video.
@@ElevationEveryWeekend Yeah, I've been trying to upgrade my Marlin for trail use (and doubling the overall cost of the bike in the process) but when I saw the specs for the Roscoe 7 I saw that upbiking just makes more sense.
I think so, having ridden the Procal and the Roscoe back to back on more aggressive Midwest trails, the Roscoe definitely has a much higher ceiling when things get rowdy.
Excellent review! Roscoe is a do it all MTB😊 I've got a 2019 Roscoe 8, in medium size. I converted it from 27.5 to 29er, and it is a new bike! Eventually, I plan to upgrade to a newer Roscoe, although I'm not decided if on a medium, or M/L size. I'm 5'11" and on my older Roscoe 8, I needed a bit longer stem for better reach and fit. Which newer Roscoe size would you recommend? Thanks 👍
Super fun bike indeed! I am also 5’11” and the Roscoe I reviewed was a med, so I personally would go up at least one size. If you had to add a longer stem that’s also an indication you probably need more reach from the frame.
POS.... I GOT MINE FOR FREE IN PERFECT CONDITION, ABANDONED, EXCEPT SHIFTER WAS BROKE SO, UPGRADED TO NEW SHIFTER WITH SIGHT GLASS, CUSTOM COMFORTABLE LEATHER SEAT, CUSTOM DECALS, CUSTOM ALUMINUM PEDDLES, H-D KICK STAND, TOURING GRIPS, $140 BUCKS.....TASTEFULLY DONE. NOW I SHOULD RIDE IT ...OH YEAH....ITS A MONSTER TRACTOR
This video was filmed in NE Ohio, for reference.
I just bought few days ago Trek Roscoe 7 2023 29' Large and is amazing bike for the value . It was on sale from £1750 and i paid £1150 . 🤩

Great review and nice trail footage. Thanks for posting.
@@utub333 thanks for watching!
New to the sport and kind of "shelf picked" this bike, so was very relieved to hear you approve!
Yeah I think you can do a lot with this bike as-is, and even do some upgrades down the road!
That was a very interesting video lots of info can't wait for your next one it's a thumbs up in my book
Long time Trek fan here. Bike looks great 👍. Thanks for posting !

Yep, I love to try the higher spec, setup tubeless and see what it could do out here in Colorado! The 7 can do a lot though!

Agreed, it can definitely benefit from upgrades over time!

Glad you are enjoying it! It’s a great bike to start on, and down the road worthy of upgrading if you choose!
Fantastic review, thank you
Thanks for watching!
Really good value at that price point. Even got a dropper on there.
Yep it seems like a good all around value and package!
Good looking bike!!!
Sure is!!

Would this be a big step up from a Marlin 7? I’d like something that’s more capable on downhills and flow trails.

I have Roscoe 7 XL in mat black..... ❤❤❤ really good bike
Hi, I’m looking to buy the roscoe, may I ask how tall you are? I’m 6foot 2 ( 74 inches) and I’m not sure whether to get large or xl
