It IS trash. The weapon is not optimal, deals minimal damage even with all the upgrades. The optimal weapon use are swap combos (PB-Sticky/PB-Rocket/PB-SSG) or the Destroyer Blade if you prefer single-weapon use. The Heavy Cannon's Precision Bolt chews through ammo much slower than the Chaingun but deals damage faster in combination with other weapons. Even in casual playthroughs if you are too much of a dummy one trick pony just use the PB-SSG combo (Precision Bolt - Super Shotgun quickswap). But it's understandable you say that since everybody still uses the Sticky Bombs to fight the final boss when you are watching a Twitch/TH-cam stream. Of course, if you are willing to spend hours in a single fight beating it with sub-optimal weapons and call it success, well, to each their own...
I'm a console player and i finally beat the super gore nest master level on ultra nightmare! Im so glad people are still falling in love with this game to this day 😊
You never played the game before, but still stuck with it, beat it and the DLC, then once more on Nightmare and even learned about advanced speedrunning strats. You've basically experienced this game exactly as I did. More people should have this kind of determination, huge respect.
@@ivailok3376 dude I started on I’m too young to die, grew up on classic doom but had been out of gaming for 15 years and eternal got my back in love with games, and just like you both said, the determination out of sheer love for the IP and content and gameplay feels so organic and good, now I keep it on nightmare pretty much all the time unless I really really want to chill and smoke out and not be fully on point I’ll put it on ultra violence sometimes, but either way I’ve improved tremendously, on controller none the less. Hundreds of hours on 4 different platforms, it’s impacted me more than most people would take seriously if I told them, but yall know. Huge area of pride in a life critically low on self respect, this game boosted it.
"experienced this game exactly as I did" Something that we don't from the so called professional reviewers. I still can't belive that I held myself off from playing Alien Isolation and Doom 2017 for years after release because of IGN reviews.
The Chaingun is possibly one of the best weapons in the game because of the Energy Shield mod, in higher difficulties it can give you so much room to breathe, you can dash into enemies with it and kill them without ammo, and its cooldown is about 4 seconds. That and the Super Shotgun are my to-go weapons
When Doom Eternal came out, to me it was proof that AAA companies can definitely make genre defining games, but none of them want to put in the effort. Ive yet to play a shooter that holds a candle to Doom Eternal, Ultrakill is damn close.
What I like about the auto shotgun mod is that WHEN you fully upgrade it you can do a combo to microwave an enemy with the plasma gun then finish it off with the auto shotgun and get your shell ammo back after finishing off. Very satisfying!
I find the chaingun useful when fighting a big enemy like a Hell Baron, I use the full turret mode to get most health off it, either using micro missiles or a rocket launcher to damage it a bit, then finish it off with the auto shotgun. I used to hate some of the mods for some guns but I learned to love them in Nightmare mode when learning that I can screw using combos and switch weapons to win. I also agree what @doog462 said on how they learned to use the mods they hate.
battlemode was so underrated and there hasn't been anything like it before. Some of the best most tense multiplayer moments i've had in recent years was in battlemode. Battlemode had the same problem most new multiplayer arena shooters have, high barrier of entry and high skill cieling. But when you get good at the game playing pubs or playing with friends, its god like. Its a shame a multiplayer so unique, fun, and novel didn't get the appreciation it deserved. Because of that there are still people playing it to this day, unlike the 2016 lobbies which are empty and rotting
I still play it on steam every now and then. I platinumed the game on the ps4 years ago and I've been trying to get the battle mode achievements on steam lol
Battle Mode was fun for a while, but then got really bad once people started mastering Doom Eternal, and playing as the demons started feeling awful. There's nothing fun about an Ultra Nightmare master-level quick-swapping Doom Slayer just fucking pummeling you relentlessly. And all that being said, Battle Mode fell way short of Doom 2016's multiplayer. Everyone scrambling for the BFG, chainsaw, or demon runes made Doom 2016's multiplayer way more fun and chaotic.
@@sharpiefps7630 player numbers are irrelevant to me. fortnite is the most played shooter in the world but that doesn't mean its the best, i think its boring as sin. The thing about 2016's MP is that death match has been done millions of time by other games that have done it better. Every year AAA games are pumping out the same things over and over, so actually having a completely new, novel, and skillbased multiplayer mode is what made it so enthralling to me. Regardless, it would come as no surprise if the next doom game completely ditched multiplayer all together. Not that it would be surprising
@@VYKco "player numbers are irrelevant to me." 2016's multiplayer is the last thing 2016 is known for but instead of croaking in less than a year later like Battlemode did, 2016 MP's heart is still beating strong and people are finding games faster than in Quake Champion or... well... Battlemode... It's not novel, yes, but at least it's well put together. It's a rarity these days to have working multiplayer (in an arena shooter). Experienced players are having a blast playing it though. So I guess it's novel enough to retain love and attention. Modders have managed to mod Battlemode and create 1v1's (duels) and you don't have to mod a lot to make it work. But I assume you just want a queue system to hand out good games on silver platter to you. AAA studios are pumping actual arena shooter multiplayers? Maybe we live on different planets? Cuz AAA are allergic to AFPS's as we know.
I thought this was another 20k subs video on doom eternal from 2021 but then i noticed this came out yesterday and you only have 200 subs Video is so well made wtf
Titanfall 2 is amazing but not even close to DOOM Eternal. Plus what about Half Life 2, Metro Exodus, Bioshock,Etc? Titanfall 2 rules but there's some serious competition even for the #2 slot behind Eternal
Doom 2016 is not a reboot of classic Doom. It's a sequel to the classic Doom games. Doom, Doom II, Doom 64, Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, and Doom: The Dark Ages are an entire storyline.
@@Steveburger_ it's a separate continuity/universe... or maybe you could headcanon it as having happened before Doom 1 as Doom 1 is you doing cleanup duty from the aftermath?
I recommend you try a ultra-violence campaign where you only use the mods you hate, it helps you use them more and is a fun challenge It taught me to use microwaves beam to stun enemies then shoot off weak points, and to use microwave beam when a super heavy is in a glory kill state to kill everyone around it
The Meme Beam really isn't something you wanna spend time perfecting. Look up weapon combos speedrunners and all the crazy mod runners are using to delete the demons off the arenas.
@@sharpiefps7630Bad advice. You should always try and figure out how to play a game by yourself first. There's many different ways to play effectively, it's completely unnecessary to copy how someone else plays.
My wife can't be in the room while im playing doom because the rapid movement gives her wicked motion sickness. She still loves to see me play and smiles when I tell her I'm feeling a little down so I'm going to do another Doom playthrough. Love to see you giving this game such amazing praise and hopfully ill see you around when Dark Ages is released next year. For sure you've got me as a subscriber.
Btw, try the chain gun with its sentry mode. It's a lot of lead going towards the demons in a small time and can be used in a pinch where you are probably using the BFG, saving the BFG for the real sticky situations
8:19 the full auto with salvo extender is actually goated in the right hands, dont you dare diss it 9:10 you can infinite falter demons with a fully upgraded shield for the chaingun, it's super useful 9:49 Microwave beam is super useful for stun locking demons. All you gotta do is use literally one unit from your ammo pool for a split second shot, and boom, 1 second stun Also your weapons tierlist is really bad since every gun is super important
@6:18 actually, ramping up the difficulty from hurt me plenty to nightmare did not change the damage values of enemies, it just made them more relentless. the change in difficulty modes modified the AI of the enemies. higher difficulties meaning enemies will be smarter.
The devs did a fantastic job with the enemy AI in this game. At the highest difficulties, the demons can be shockingly 'smart' at times. Seems like they're actually thinking, planning, and strategizing during combat just like the player is. It's amazing.
@@DeadPixel1105 carcasses at nightmare diff will always try to ram their energy shields at your face to block your attacks, while marauders will sometimes trick you into a melee attack then quickly side stepping. th-cam.com/video/3iukYR5fjPY/w-d-xo.html
Hey o/, Eternal speedrunner here :D Glad you like the game this much and I find it great you mentioned the speedruns. Speedrunning this game is the most fun I have ever had playing a game and the movement is just perfect. The many glitches of the game make a lot of great and small skips viable. I would love if you could do a live-reaction of one of the speedruns, as I would really enjoy viewing your reaction (as I do with all people who watch speedruns). So yeah, keep up the great content
What's your favorite game to just chill out to? With Doom being such an awesome action packed experience, I'm looking for something on the more relaxing side to review next.
If you want a shooter where you actually get surprised and outsmarted by your enemy AI you should play original F.E.A.R. (2005) and it's DLCs (No relaxing there though)
I agree with your sentiment. I played 2016 doom and eternal for the first time this year and Eternal was where the games really clicked for me. I’m still working towards harder difficulties but being able to sail through “hurt me plenty” made me feel good. Working on the dlc’s then off to the harder difficulties. Eternal is just so good. I don’t understand the hate it gets.
I already used the Claw Grip technique since i have a background in Fighting games where claw grip is common on a controller. It definitively makes you faster.
No need for claw grip if you're using gyro since you'll be able to aiming and turning while you're thumb is pressing the jump button. That and even outside of that your aim is much better anyhow, dual-analog aiming only is almost unplayable to me these days. Works just fine for early console fps that were designed with it in mind, but I'm not so patient with modern fps games.
I played this game a couple times the week it came out and really liked it however I went back about a month ago and have been replaying it over and over since. The more I play it the more entertaining it is definitely my favorite game i’ve ever played
Doom eternal will always be one of my favorite games. The gameplay, graphics, and soundtrack are all 10/10 i literally could not ask for more. Except for maybe replace the normal shotgun with something else but the sticky bombs are fire so its cool
There are a few small things to point out you might have missed: - If you bought the deluxe edition of the game, you get the classic weapon sound pack, it makes the original weapon sounds from classic doom. - Under visual settings (I think Lol) you can turn on a filter for Doom Eternal that makes it look like it's from an old console game/gameboy visual/classic doom. (No, I'm not kidding. Lol) I played Doom Eternal since launch, and did everything besides ultra nightmare, It's always fun to see someone who never touched doom eternal and see what their experience is, you did a good job on the gameplay and video. :D
Thank you! You're right there are still some things I missed, another being the whole photo mode, but I figured it's the kind of thing not that many people are interested in. I only really used it to make the thumbnail of this video lol. I tried the filters but didn't really like playing with them personally!
I’ve owned doom eternal for a while now. I’ve beat the game on hurt me plenty and ultra violent. But currently, I’m on my third play through on nightmare mode right now . Love this game to death ☺️
I can turn pinkies from most annoying on your list to least when I tell you that the gunshield on the chaingun can make them obsolete. All you have to do is activate the gunshield and ram into them repeatedly
I just started playing doom eternal, and my GOD this game is mad addicting. It’s hard af at times (pause) but it makes it more rewarding as you progress. Im definitely getting the dlc when I finish the campaign
Battlemode is the best PvP mode made in a long time. When you understand the game at it's core. That's where you go to really see what you can do as a Slayer against a good demon team. While it's best days are behind it, those who knew about it, will always have a special place for it in their cold dead hearts. Battlemode was the shit.
Believe it or not, D4 is very relaxing /casual now. I was one of those "D4 Bad" haters, but Season 4 fixed a lot. Quite enjoying it now. 🤷♂️ *Edit* Outside of that, you can't go wrong with Left4Dead 2. Still popping off on Steam after YEARS of being out. The mod community keeps this game alive.
I bought this a few months after launch and for some reason got to the final and then never continued after 2 or so tries. Been playing this recently again from the start and I think I'm enjoying the game even more than before. I had also picked up the 2 DLC packs for $10 combined a few years ago as well, but was never in the mood to play the game again until the past few days. It feels a lot less exhausting than before as well (though still kinda exhausting since that's just the type of game it is. Very fast, high focus and constantly lots going on and whatnot). This time I won't stop until I've beaten both DLC expansions though. But yeah, in terms of gameplay this just plays really well and graphically it looks really slick and smooth. Those 2 things alone already make the game a joy to play (same for Doom 2016, but in a different way). Regular fps games just don't cut it for me. Though honestly they haven't really done anything for me since they stopped evolving and became more about following popular trends and focusing on multiplayer. Wish there were more ambitious gameplay-focused fps games these days. The best ones outside of Doom 2016/Eternal seem to be indie ones that harken back to the good old says, but don't exactly offer a fresh experience.
I play Doom on Xbox, the most helpful thing for me was mapping jump to the left bumper (a la Halo bumper jumper configuration). I moved flame belch to the A button. That made it a lot easier to jump while aiming/dashing around.
when i watched this video it was pretty good as a doom eternal player myself i went back to playing it not to long ago and i have been getting better at quick swaping and more stuff as im preparing myself for a ultra nightmare run on the dlc's and story :D and i haven't finished the story right now but i am playing ultra violence and working myself up to ultra nightmare on the story and dlc's so i hope u get better at the game as well i hope the best for ya
I come from the Hanimex Pong System, Colecovision, Atari 2600, C64, Amiga and PC days of gaming. My last PC upgrade and full playthrough of a game was in 2005 until I got a Switch for my Daughter 2 years ago and played through Blasphemous 1 & 2. 6 months ago I finally got back into the PC after spending 3k on parts and then 2 weeks ago got a hold of Doom Eternal. WOW!... Amazing!!! 😮 I'm 50 but I've stiill got it ;)
Hey bro, really enjoyed this review - I’ve just downloaded doom eternal and excited to start today. What games do you normally review? Do you have a ps5?
I don't have a ps5 unfortunately! What games I review is totally up to be seen, definitely PC focused though cause recording footage is way easier. Open to a whole bunch of genres.
I bought this game 3 years ago but didnt really play it much but i just got back into it and im blown away by the level design and the gameplay mechanics. It really had me sweating and im surprised it took me so long to actually get into it. The game is hard though and stressful, i usually prefer easier chill games nowadays but this game has my respect. Its challenging in the best way
@@SchwingyPOV oh yeah. people compare the games too much but theyre pretty different. its obviously doom inspired but its a real unique take on a boomer shooter. my tip is to focus on dodging. but the feedbacker (your parry tool) lets you too wacky stuff like punch your bullets as they leave the gun to boost their damage!
It has the best gameplay loop I've ever played and it is very addictive. So much so that just watching this video made me wanna play again, and I have over 1200 hours in DE.
Speaking of the skill ceiling, calling the chain gun trash is actually really interesting. At super high levels, and on ultra nightmare, it is quintessential because the shield allows for basically complete damage negation at the press of a button, making it the best weapon for getting out of a corner or a horde, and also because the shield bash and release mod allows for incredibly quick combos that can delete barons, doom hunters, tyrants, and even marauders if you're really good. Just food for thought
doom eternal is great and probably the 2nd best fps rn, but the gunplay and bosses in ULTRAKILL are frankly just better. though everyone has different opinions.
@@jopansmark how so, the guns work better together, the enimies are not as good as doom, but still good, the bosses in ultrakill are objectively just better and the music is insanely good (for example; order). it also want to ask how far you've gotten though the game, because i won't take you seriously if you haven't put at least a decent amount of time into the game and beaten the (current) entierty of the story.
I downloaded this game 3 months ago not knowing ANYTHING about it. Except that it was a very old shooter franchise. Nothing really shook me untill that part in the Cultist Base where you fall down, surrounded by Demons and flames. It was at that moment, where the INSANE music hitted me SO GODDAMN HARD while slaying Demons, that i fell in love with this game. I am now a proud metalhead and on my 7th rerun. I can listen to "Meathook" 24/7 no problem. And people around me better behave while im listening to it
@@HyperNova808 i mean like ultrakill is the best fps for how fun it is (gameplay) , but considering every aspect of a game i think doom is better since its more fun to replay (experience)
To everyone mentioning Ultrakill. Stop, this isn’t about that game. I love Doom and I love Ultrakill but we shouldn’t have to go through this debate EVERYTIME Doom is mentioned.
i love how you put the most dps weapon in the F tier haha, love it! great video honestly it is a blast to see someone who also had a blast to play this game later than most people and seeing the same transition from being a n00b to "i can actually handle myself well now" player
@@sharpiefps7630 isn't a big part of the game's design that all the different guns are useful throughout the playthrough though? I have no opposition to people not using certain guns on preference, but it was interesting to see that there are weapons that could be considered worse in general 🤔
After 30 years of being a PC gamer and tried "almost" every genre, i found out that ( and i don´t like to admit this ) ... that i lost my reflexes ( CS GO 2 ) interest and curiosity on A LOT of games. This is my POV and everyone will be in my shoes sooner or later, and they will have to accept it or deal with rage inducing moments in almost all competitive games ( especially on 1stPS ) ... i did found my piece of mind and tranquility in ( and people will laugh but i don´t care since this is just an opinion NOT a critique ) ... in "arcade games" ... ( Reso Gun, Monument Valley ... ) and everything actually worth playing without feeling the "obligation" to stall a bit more just to be able to pass that level or to plan my daily free time so i cannot let my teammates ... Good hunting while u can, and i´ll see you all in the "After Life" of reflexes >:))
My 31 year old daughter used to sit on my lap as a baby when i'd play the first Doom...I've played every single on since, but not Eternal even though I bought it two years ago. Maybe i need to install this one to finally say i have played all of them.
I misread at first and thought your 31 year old daughter was sitting on you while you played the first Doom, which... would've been a sight! Eternal is fantastic, give it a go!
8:20 - "if you continue, you will bring down the heaven's wrath!" In all seriousness, awesome video my guy! Always love seeing new people get into my favourite games. Btw, you may know this but micromissles can damage a Doom Hunter through its energy shield. I dont even aim for their sled anymore now.
Tested timesplitters 2.. was on the QA team at free radical design. I don’t crab doom, I use an elite controller with paddles. Works for me. I’m 52 years old and really enjoyed this video. Today I’m director of a large global video game QA business working on the biggest titles. Absolutely love gaming. And will always play.
Keywords?? Timesplitters 2 was so much fun back in the day. I spent so many evenings playing deathmatch, 4 players with bots in split screen. Good times.
I don't get why people can't just respect other games. ULTRAKILL is good in its own fashion, and so is DOOM. It's that simple. Doom is good in its own part, being a gory AAA violence game that makes people feel powerful, and ULTRAKILL is a fast paced shooter game that makes people feel powerful. I have played both, and I can say, IN MY OWN OPINION, I do prefer ULTRAKILL. But that doesn't mean I don't like DOOM. Anyways, just learn to let people be and chill out. We don't need to argue about this.
I love the double chain gun since Doom 2016, the animation is so satisfying to me that I use it all the time, sometimes in panic mode, sometimes just to unleash on the last big demon for a satisfying kill
Im watching this while paused on the Taras Nabad level on maybe my third or fourth playthrough in the past few years. So so happy iD continues to breathe new life in one of the finest series ever.
While most games take you on a nice stroll, letting the player experience extraordinary stuff, Doom Eternal feels like driving a high-speed rail for the first time but you're expected to perform insane drifts and slam dunks with said train: Eternal makes you do stuff you didn't know you'd be capable of doing at the beginnning. I played Eternal at release on ultra-violence and it was a hardcore experience for me back then. One year and a half later, I replayed it on nightmare and continued with TAG part 1 and 2 for the first time still on nightmare and it felt amazing. We've spoken for years about entering the dance, being one with the flow of each encounter, managing everything almost instinctively. Simply put, for me, Doom Eternal is the best fps of the last 20 years, at least since Half-Life 2. On that note, keep an eye on "Turbo Overkill", which is the unholy son of Quake and Doom Eternal who grew up playing Cyberpunk and reading Chainsaw Man. I gave it a shot on the highest difficulty and I think I reached an even higher mastery, I never quick-swapped as much in Eternal.
The Doom Dance is something else if you have ever heard the band Candlemass. Their song, specifically their music video for Bewitched you can see their vocalist do something later called the doom dance!
Doom Eternal made me a near peak performance player. It's exhausting but when you're actually sharp enough to cycle through the whole weapon wheel the way you want it feels incredible. This is the best FPS game I've ever played. Its pure satisfaction.
Doom Eternal is the best fps game of all time!Ive played them all from Halo,Half life,Bioshock,Resistance,Quake,Duke Nukem and just about every great fps ever made and Eternal stands above all!Had it not been for The Last Of Us 2(one of the greatest games of all time as well) Doom Eternal would have won game of the year in 2020!
I'd say Doom 2016 is more of a quality-product that was properly finished (wasn't hindered by 'rona) and can truly be called a labor of love that preserves the Doom legacy. A true revolution in the FPS genre that marked a revival of retro-boomer-shooters. But Eternal is just so much more fun to play and appeals to a lot of tastes. Anyone can find something to like in that game.
Horde has been really important to me, two years after finishing the game I still play Horde from time to time and try to improve my scores. Also you will die pretty early in Nightmare Horde if you don't get used to the rapid fire shotgun mod.
Yeah but you can't swap between 3 or more that way, only back and forth between 2 (which is definitely still better than not at all!), unless I am mistaken
Honestly I kind of wish there was a different accepted genre designation for games like Doom Eternal and ULTRAKILL. Ostensibly they look and at first glance even play like usual FPS games, but when you get down to it the overall experience of playing them is its own beast. I generally love that experience, mind, but I also find it _much_ more demanding and even draining than normal FPS and so I tend not to reinstall either of those games when I'm in the mood for an FPS, even though I adore them. I'd much rather play DUSK or Hedon or something in that scenario. Doom Eternal and ULTRAKILL are their own, separate thing. Character Action FPS maybe? That said, I suppose a subgenre that currently consists of like two games doesn't exactly merit a change in terminology.
Controller player here. If claw grip hurts your hands to even think about like me, then you'll want to get your hands on a steam controller to make use of gyro aiming with high sensitivity. Pretty amazing for jumping and aiming without losing the comfort of standard grip. Nintendo switch pro controller works pretty well for this too. Thanks, Splatoon
I just love the innovations to the fps genre that doom is responsible for. When you hear the term first person shooter you would think that player freedom is fairly limited but that isn't the case in doom. 2 weapon mods for each weapon, fast movement, a lot of different upgrades for the suit, weapon combos, freezing, burning, chainsaw etc. And now from the looks of it we will be getting a block and parry feature in the next game. Id have always been the masters of first person shooters.
Just got the platinum trophy on PS5- did the same for Doom 2016. These are arguably the best FPS games ever made up there with Halo and F.E.A.R. Love these games
I played this game on Nightmare on First Try (2x!) with all the collectibles. I completely disagree with a lot of what you said about the weapons themselves, especially the Chaingun. Oh, and if you play Nightmare and die an average of 200 times on each new major fight, the subsequent victory will give you a huge amount of dopamine. That feels so good. Combat Shotgun - Great for most of the game, and for me it's the primary weapon I use for the vast majority of situations. Heavy Cannon - Snipe mode is good to start, but once you learn how to destroy the Arachnotron Turret with a grenade from the Combat Shotgun, you almost don't need it. On the other hand, you'll then use Micro-Missile mode often as an alternative when you run out of Combat Shotgun ammo. It also clears the way nicely with weaker and some heavy demons. Super Shotgun - Great for taking out the motherfucker Marauder and hitting below the belt when you're running low on HP around the big guys. It's also good to run around the map with, and the armor flying off of burning enemies pretty much saves your ass and adds just the right sense of carnage. Plasma Rifle - I agree here. You won't use this weapon very often, but the fast cadence makes it easy to make a weak demon vulnerable (3-4 hits) and therefore good for replenishing HP from the weaker ones around that aren't in the main cauldron fight. Laser is great if you really want to hold someone, but the main uses are really only in the DLCs for Spirit. ...I really hate it when that cunt gets incarnated into one of the big ones. That's an unkillable, extremely fast shit with extremely high dmg and attack speed. Ballista - A great powerful weapon that's good to save a bit, but shove it in the demons' faces when you need to. Both modes will be used, but primarily Arbalest for easier clear of weaker demons near you and additional dmg. Chaingun - One of the BEST weapons in the game. If you don't trust yourself, use the shield mode, it's just not very effective. The other one is a different beast though. Easily and very quickly takes down high HP enemies like all heavy demons (Dread Knight, Hell Knight, Whiplash, DOOM Hunter - yes, with this gun u rly fast destroy his platform and shield forever,...) and super heavy demons (Tyrant, Baron of Hell,...). It eats an incredible amount of ammo, but it's worth it. Having 4 miniguns instead of 1 is just great. RPG - Fine for killing heavy demons like Wiplash or Mancubus. Plus handy for taking out large numbers of enemies in one place. Best to save it for the biggest ones though, because you can easily cram up to 3 volleys of 3 missiles into them (+2 extra missiles), which is really some dmg already. BFG 9000 - Always leave it for a moment when you won't be giving it anymore and you know you have at least 1 round to pick up. I love that "big fucking gun". Unmaykr - I've used this weapon about 1. Unlike the BFG, it doesn't have a big aoe dmg, but it concentrates it into a smaller area that decimates. I personally prefer a large aoe dmg and a long flight path for the most dmg. So for me the BFG wins here, but that's down to preference. The Crucible is great by the way, but I don't really enjoy it when there's so little ammo :( I can't rate Sentinel Hammer. I haven't played the whole DLC and haven't used it yet. However, I also think it will be similarly great.

Yeah CGS is literally so damn good it's kiiinda blatantly OP especially when abused

I completely get what you mean!
Doom 2016 MP is still alive and has an active playerbase.
People are voting with their time on what Doom MP is better.

It taught me to use microwaves beam to stun enemies then shoot off weak points, and to use microwave beam when a super heavy is in a glory kill state to kill everyone around it
That sounds like a fun next playthrough
Same, I hated microwave beam and never used it til the AG's. It actually is nice to take care of heavies, as long as you get space from the others.

Hey o/, Eternal speedrunner here :D
Glad you like the game this much and I find it great you mentioned the speedruns.
Have you done hollow knight?
Probably Minecraft
If you want a shooter where you actually get surprised and outsmarted by your enemy AI you should play original F.E.A.R. (2005) and it's DLCs (No relaxing there though)
@doog462 I haven't beaten that one yet, I think I got to the city of tears and got stuck somewhere around there.. would be worth revisiting!
Man, I remember when F.E.A.R. came out I was interested but way too scared to pull the trigger on it (I was also like 12 lol). It holds up still?
I agree with your sentiment. I played 2016 doom and eternal for the first time this year and Eternal was where the games really clicked for me. I’m still working towards harder difficulties but being able to sail through “hurt me plenty” made me feel good. Working on the dlc’s then off to the harder difficulties. Eternal is just so good. I don’t understand the hate it gets.
Bro what fucking hate you talking about ☠️
I already used the Claw Grip technique since i have a background in Fighting games where claw grip is common on a controller.

There are a few small things to point out you might have missed:
- If you bought the deluxe edition of the game, you get the classic weapon sound pack, it makes the original weapon sounds from classic doom.
- Under visual settings (I think Lol) you can turn on a filter for Doom Eternal that makes it look like it's from an old console game/gameboy visual/classic doom. (No, I'm not kidding. Lol)

15:09 hugo martin : THE FUN zONE
Bro you have got to quick swap watching you reload the super shotgun in like 10 clips was driving me fucking insane
13:50 You can quick swap on controller by tapping the weapon wheel button.
Yeah but you can't swap between 3 or more that way, only back and forth between 2 (which is definitely still better than not at all!), unless I am mistaken
@@SchwingyPOV yeah only two
Honestly I kind of wish there was a different accepted genre designation for games like Doom Eternal and ULTRAKILL.
2 blood punches immediately puts the doom hunter off the sled
Controller player here. If claw grip hurts your hands to even think about like me, then you'll want to get your hands on a steam controller to make use of gyro aiming with high sensitivity. Pretty amazing for jumping and aiming without losing the comfort of standard grip. Nintendo switch pro controller works pretty well for this too.
Thanks, Splatoon
I'm noticing a trend that pre pandemic or pandemic games are still relevant, while everything after is average or sucks.
Id is one of a kind that's for sure!
The Crucible is great by the way, but I don't really enjoy it when there's so little ammo :(
I can't rate Sentinel Hammer. I haven't played the whole DLC and haven't used it yet. However, I also think it will be similarly great.
