*Yes, I'm aware of quick swapping but this is intended for everyone, not just people on PC. It's hard to do on console.* Check out the other videos I did on DOOM Eternal: Polarizing Gameplay Design (Resource Loop): th-cam.com/video/3CqNBcobXEQ/w-d-xo.html Best Weapon Mods: th-cam.com/video/skhUog3ghqc/w-d-xo.html Best Runes and Upgrades: th-cam.com/video/K6pSFgsptmI/w-d-xo.html Doom Eternal Tips: th-cam.com/video/sIEwVrPuCVY/w-d-xo.html
It's not that hard to quick swap, I just have to tap R1 and it'll always switch to my last used weapon, and when I know he's around I always make sure the ballista is my previous weapon.
To me it's Ballista, Super shotgun, Ballista dash back and Rocket launcher detonate on the side for max dam potential. Once I focus him it's always over in less than 12s lol.
Few more things: - The ballista can instantly get a turret off of a mancubus or a revenant and can destroy the arachnotron turret too - Easiest way to kill the marauder is to kill everything else before you face him so there is no interruption, and you can quickly switch between the super shotgun and the ballista and get 3 hits in before his shield is up OR just stagger him and hit it with a BFG, insta kill OR shoot a BFG just above it, it will face the tendils, then you just shoot him, easy kill. - A good way to dispose of doomhunter qucikly (except the boss fight phase) is to freeze it, then blood punch, then super shotgun twice, ballista also does the job and his lower body is done for, then all you need is a lock on burst with the rocket launcher. - Cyber mancubi is the same, if you freeze it and blood punch it, it only takes 1 super shotgun blast to kill it (helps if you have the more damage suit upgrade for the freeze grenade) if the grenade is on cd, then just wait for it, otherwise you can spend a whole lot of hp and ammo to dispose of it, unless you are lucky. take this from someone who beat it on ultra-nightmare :D
@@buzz3248 hey look buddy im a doom slayer and that means i solve problems Not problems like what is beauty, i solve practical problems. Take this chain gun found by me, use by me, and you best hope not pointed at you
@@monoespacial if they have amor is much lesse, most times i put them down with 2 supershotgun blasts in the face, on ultraviolence, but i will look more into it
It's has armor too, but a little bit less than Pinky. Also, I don't know why but in my game Pinky turn way too fast ( compare to other Nightmare playthrought I saw on TH-cam) so I always save blood punch for them lol.
13:15 I found an easy cheese for that specific Tyrant. On that map, the tyrant jumps up out of the chasm. If you use the plasma gun's microwave emitter, it's stun him, and instead of jumping forward, he'll instantly fall to his death.
I killed him the normal way to just get the reward for it but if you aim straight with the bfg at the right time he just never comes out and theres ammo so you get the shot back
The joke here is he was trying to shoot at that one spider demon but the revenant jumped in front of it like a bodyguard jumping in front of the president to take a bullet for him it's not funny anymore because I had to explain the joke but there yah go :)
You can also pop him with a super quick burst from the microwave beam. He will be faltered, and At close range youll have time to get behind for that juicy SSG
Frags are actually a guaranteed falter on any demon they hit. Great for hell Knights, getting in close to a mancubus or arachnotron for the blood punch, and to stop things like the Archvile spawn animation
The best way to take care of the marauder is to lock on with the lock on rockets (without firing) and then fire an ice grenade over his head. The ice grenade with make him pull out his shield to try and deflect it and while it’s over his head, fire the lock on rockets. Once he’s staggered by the first rockets, immediately fire a second set of rockets and it’ll take care of him. If you do this right it’ll take 2-4 seconds to kill him!!
When facing the doom hunter, i find it much easier to target his sledge right away, without trying to destroy its shield first. Then watch him while he desperatily try to stay relevant.
I'm a psycho who waits for one of his arm attacks so he's busy and then hook into him and bloodpunch+shotgun him. Then I back off and finish the sled from range. The stagger from the first punch should keep him from swiping at you before you back away.
Something to note about Whiplashes: They will instantly stagger upon a single hit from the Arbablast. If you can hit shots consistently, those slippery bastards become trivial at best.
The low fire rate on the Arbalest and the ammo use, combined with the chances of missing a shot make this a poor option in my opinion. Lock On Rockets get the job done every time.
@@monoespacial I tent to save ice grenade for them, the combo is Ice grenade+explosive grenade+super shot+Ballista always get rid of them. PS: you can flame them for extra armor too.
It was so annoying the first time I ran into one and I looked at the tips trying to figure out how to kill it and all if told me was to shoot till it dies
For the marauder, you can also use the rocket launcher. Just use the remote detonation mod, and aim to one of Marauder's sides to temporaly stun him/kill him with the explosion.
Use weapon wheel in mid air work fine in console. The weapon wheel slow time so it's can be usefull while you still in moving momentum like in mid air. Don't try to use it why standing stillthough, it's very easy to get hit even with slow timeif your body not moving.
I do regret buying on console, not having individual hotkeys for weapons is an issue and the best you get is constant slo-mo holding R1 or quickswitch tapping R1. It works okay, but you need to know what you're fighting beforehand to pair the weapons to R1 tap, like for the first Marauder for example.
One think I found I could do pretty reliable in 2016 was move the stick to the weapon I want just a split second before holding the weapon switch button and let go, half the time I’d change weapons to what I wanted without the wheel displaying at all, or just very briefly flashing. Eternal I’ve been unable to do this as reliably
Hi, I've gotten obsessed with DOOM Eternal and have been playing the second of release pretty much every day and these are some of the things I've found. I've only played ultra violence and nightmare so this is for dealing maximum damage the fastest in these scenarios. -Switch quickly after shooting between ballista and ssg to deal with: Mancubus (Stay at midrange to not trigger flamethrower), Baron of Hell (Short-mid range and keep running backwards), Dread knight, Hell knight, Cyber-mancubus (still gets the job done even without bloodpunching. obv takes longer), Marauder, arachnotron (after disabling turret), pain elemental. -Switch between ballista and rocket launcher for pain elemental, archville, mancubus and cybermancubus (if you'd rather stay ranged), tyrant, doom hunter, cacodemon (if you ran out of stickies or too far range like in beginning of nekravol II. also if youre in combat and dont have time to charge arbalest), arachnotron (ranged option), revenant, whiplash. (for a lot of these enemies preferably use remote detonation because if you fire rocket then ballista then switch to rocket if it missed you can detonate after pulling it out again and repeat the process after the ballista shot or aim at ground. Also rocket barrage can be annoying to lock on so thats why I suggest this combo. Some enemies are easily taken out with the rocket barrage but it saves a lot of time to use the combos. -For fodder chaingun, stickies (extremely effective), rocket launcher, plasma gun, heavy cannon rocket barrage. -if your combos are out of ammo use the strategies this guy suggested which are good, but using combos absolutely decimates enemies. -If you are being chased by a massive horde pump stickies, arsenal grenade, and rockets. Should take out lesser enemies and only leave out super heavies and maybe a few heavies. -Carcasses are easy to kill ranged with ballista and heavy cannon sniper switch. Can be a replacement for ballista plus rocket launcher. Works great against doom hunter sled. -If you're playing nightmare constantly stay in the air and use a lot of monkey bars, boosters, double dash and refill dash and double jump mid air with glory kills. Helps you miss a LOT of projectiles. not necessary in lesser difficulties bc overkill and it takes a lot of concentration but you definitely will never die if you know how to do this. -with dash upgrade, dash once and wait for refill then dash again. you pretty much have a 1 dash with 5 milisecond cooldown. -heavy cannon rocket barrage has homing missiles. with upgrade kill 1 fodder demon for damage boost then target prowler and gargoyles if they're moving too fast for you. -ballista takes out demon weaponry. use it with combo against mancubi and arachnotrons. i dont usually bother with revenant because he dies so fast. -fully charged plasma wave instantly destroys all demon weapons all difficulties. -turret upgrade is worthless in nightmare and tricky to pull in ultra violence because of the slowdown. you will get hit and die stupidly fast. be extremely careful and use preferably use when fighting three or less demons. shield is better imo. -in battle take out fodder first it makes it a lot easier, but leave a little bit out in case of necessary resources because sometimes all fodder will be dead while fighting heavy demons. -use bfg only if you are about to die. the ammo is very very precious. you also miss out on a lot of ripping and tearing which is doodoo. I've also noticed if you use a bfg shot more enemies will come. In tinier waves, but the battle always lasts longer for me. -keep range from mancubi as their ground pound deals MASSIVE damage and almost instakills in nightmare. Cybermancubi are the worst in nightmare and preferably use combo from range. youll likely die if you use bloodpunch. -take your time to learn patterns and dodge proejctiles. if you know you struggle against a type of demon kill everything else and leave it alive. dont kill it until you learn how to dodge every single attack. -chainsaw can save you from getting hit and enemies drop health after chainsaw if low hp. Good luck and rip and tear. Edit: after playing I realized a mistake on my tip for the cybermancubus. The blood punch is very effective but the timing is really weird for the punch to be effective and not get hit by their ground pound. Perhaps I haven’t perfected it, but in NM the cybermancubus ground pound is so quick, your reaction time to time the punch and dash away must be pristine to not get more than 50% of your health taken...
I feel like the specters aren’t as armored in the front as pinkies. I’ve found that they go down easier when I shoot them like any other demon but I’m not sure.
Something to note is that the sticky bomb and precision bolt mods (for the combat shotgun and heavy cannon respectively) are great at destroying weak points. Namely, the mancubus' cannons, the arachnotrons turret and the revenants shoulder launchers.
With the Marauder, it's actually possible to kill him in just one attack cycle so long as you isolate him before taking him on (like you're supposed to). Keep him at long range and charge up an arbalest shot, when he rushes you and goes for an attack you hit him with the arbalest to stagger him, switch to SSG and shoot, back to ballista and fire a normal shot, fire a grenade at his feet to stagger him again (this is crucial for killing him in only one cycle, if you fail this it will take 2 cycles), switch back to SSG, then back to ballista, and back to SSG and glory kill.
If you watch the last video I did on DOOM I freeze him, double grenade + turret mode. He goes down in seconds. If you don't have your ice grenade it gets much harder.
I like this video alot because most of the weapon tips is the stuff that you already know, but the hit counts before death for each demon is really useful. My method for the maurauder, which is absolute cheese, is when he axe swings you must turret him and he stun locks as long as you're shooting him and he just dies after a full clip. Bear in mind that this tactic only works well of there are no other heavy demons so kill those guys first. Thanks so much for this video, Mono🙏
For the marauder you can shoot an ice grenade or a normal grenade over it and it’s shield will follow the grenade, giving you time shoot 2 volleys of rockets at it.
Ive noticed that using the rocket launcher lock-on on the marauder while he's in pursuit actually manages to hit him quite often. You cant use it while he's stationary though, as he'll just block it
Here's some marauder tips: 1. Stay at long range. His axe projectile moves slow and is easily dodged, when you dodge it he will begin to run towards you for a melee attack. Use that window to combo your super shotgun and ballista and/or rocket launcher. 2. Don't waste your ammo. At most close range encounters he will pull up his shield, and at long range when he isn't actively trying to hit you. If you shoot his shield, or an enemy shoots his shield he will summon a fire wolf to attack you. 3. Use your fodder. During Marauder fights, fodder enemies will regularly spawn. When you're out of ammo, use your chainsaw. Need health or armor? Use flame belch and knock down their health with heavy canon and then get a glory kill. Use fodder to launch yourself with the meathook to avoid the Marauder's attacks. 4. Use your arsenal to your disposal. Sticky bombs will always attach and the marauder will not pull up his shield when used on the feet. Remote detonate your rockets behind his shield for damage and to falter him and get even more hits. Use grenades to distract him and leave him exposed for some time. Use flame belch when he's close for armor. The bfg will distract him even when he has his shield up, so use that wisely. A well timed super shotgun and ballista combo can end him in 4 shots. The ice bomb has no effect on it, but can distract it.
Wonder if you got a charge off in time with the ballista would it falter him the demon looking one its hella risk to learn this lmao but it would be a insta shot
@@Chuito12PR yeah but im talking about the demon looking ballista mod when it charges it falters demons that are close fires a thick wave of energy i was just thinking of using it on marauder for fun to see if i could get a hit lmao
Prowler: balista shot to the chest insta stagger Mancubus: two point blank a shotgun for stagger Cyber m: blood punch then super shotgun for stagger. Aracnatron: one lock-on burst from the rocket launcher staggers, same for whiplash Dread night: the chain gun with the shield mod melts him. Pinky: two well placed remote detonated rockets get a stagger Sorry if I spelt names wrong
Correction: "Stagger" actually describes once an enemy has been rendered ready for a Glory Kill Finish, The way you use it is actually describing a "Falter," Faltering a demon is when they are put into a stunned knock back animation, making them vulnerable to further attack
My favorite way to kill a doom hunter is to ice bomb, 2 blood punches to the sled, and then finally chain gun him to death. It cost a bit of resources but it's a really quick and fun way to get him.
"Heavy canon micro missiles worthless" lmao. Maybe at first, but after gaining mastery it chews two last bosses pretty fast. MUCH more efficient than gatling
Here´s what I´ve learned from playing the campaign twice in nightmare: Shoot it with the SSG/meat hook until it dies, If you run out of ammo change to the plasma rifle to proceed shooting it until it dies, if the latest also runs out of ammo chaingun the shit out of the remaining demons while shouting "WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A THIRD PHASE ON THIS ENCOUNTER OMFG I ALREADY KILLED TWO DOOM HUNTERS"
I wouldn't call it cheap damage. I would call it strategically using your arsenal just like sticking sticky bombs on his feet but I guess everybody wants the mindless chaos of Doom 2016 where the super shotgun was the answer for everything
@@inferior3199 That's a bullshit excuse for how annoying and frustrating this game is. The game throws too much at you for too little ammo, having to chainsaw and glory kill everything gets old fast and not everyone is a professional edgelord try hard lol. The game fills my screen with bullshit so fast sometimes I can't even fucking think I mean come on its overkill. Spawning the same enemies over and over isn't good game design. It's tedious and at times downright annoying. Honestly 2016 doom was better for console. Changing weapons on my ps4 is a literal nightmare.
@@L4Disillusion 1. the game changes the pacing from 2016. Its a lot more quake like now. The idea was to make it overwhelming and make player learn. If that becomes difficult then lower the difficulty. 3. "spawning the same enemies over and over isn't good game design." Its an arena shooter. Literally what did you expect. A lot of people love this type of gameplay myself included, if you don't like it then why would you even buy that type of game lol.
@@inferior3199 actually I'm calling it cheap damage because it *doesn't* require you to be strategic by managing his range and baiting out the marauder's attacks. It's a low-skill way of damaging the marauder.
I learned a great technique to dealing with Carcasses. You can blood punch them when they’re at full health, and they stagger immediately. Otherwise they just die. But it will stun/stagger/kill any nearby enemies for a bit also. But if you’re far along enough in the game, it means you automatically get your punch back after glory killing. Doesn’t use any ammo either. They’re still insanely annoying to deal with, but this makes them a lot more manageable and has become my new favorite way of dealing with them.
13:45 and here i am finishing the entire game with only the heavy assault rifle with precision shot and without reticle hud hehe (but still using grenades, fire, punches)
I strongly recommend using chain gun + shield mod on cyber mancubi. The blood punch is really risky because their AOE attack can devastate your health up close.
@@L4Disillusion Most complaints can be fixed by getting good though. Nobody really talks about the actual issues the game has which cant be fixed by getting good like the questionable grenade swap and clunky demon controls as well as netcode in battlemode.
Pro Marauder tip: fire an ice grenade over the head of the marauder so his shield is facing away and quickly fire two rocket bursts to kill him instantly
One thing I’ve learned from playing this game: normal zombies are used for health and ammo with chainsaw. If you are in a big battle, leave them until you are about to die
I realized that the one target the Unmayker is useless against is the marauder because the Unmayker relies on rapid-fire ammunition and the marauder's vulnerability window is just too small for the Unmayker to do any notable damage.
The Marauder is also vulnerable to sticky grenades and remote exploding rockets fired past him. Even the BFG can be used to fire above him and turn him around for a free hit on his back.
Maybe check out quick switching if you are worried about the balista reloading too slowly you mentioned switching quickly but using it in general lets you do alot more damage with different switch combos like rocket/balista or balista/scoped heavy (plus if you quick switch balista with super shotgun and throw grenades behind the marauder you can stun lock him)
For the auto lock on mod with the rocket launcher, after shooting three rockets you can punch the air to cancel the end lag, providing a faster rate of fire. It is a slight difference, but a difference none the less
A little late to the party, but awesome music choices. Here's a few of my favorite combos. Cyber Mancubus - ice bomb, meat hook, blood punch, SSG. Dies while a popsicle. Doom Hunter - use plasma to knock his shield down, then get close, blood punch followed by heat blast. This does massive damage to the sled. Continue hosing him with the charged up plasma rounds. Once his sled explodes, lock-on rockets to finish him. Archvile - Ice bomb knocks his shield out and freezes him at the same time. Two lock-on volleys and he pops before he thaws. Barons - I prefer the shield mod to the turret. With the shield you can dash into them repeatedly to inflict massive damage while chaingunning away, especially with an ice bomb combo. Tyrants - Same as with the Barons. If I'm up close I'll use the shield. If I'm far away I'll just use ballista and lock-on rockets.
Another GREAT video, really helpful. I played Metro X and Titanfall ll, before Doom E. I usually play FPS games on the second highest difficulty, but I've gotten my ass kicked in Doom E, even on the Hurt Me Plenty difficulty. I'm forcing myself to go back to keyboard controls, because a console controller isn't adequate for the insane pace of Doom E. Your guides have been VERY useful, thanks so much! Good luck with the channel, I think you will grow quickly!
Thank you for your kind words. I hope you're right about the channel growing. This channel used to be in Spanish (for about 10 months) and growth was slow. I think in the last few months I've been able to create better videos, better titles and better thumbnails. I hope I keep getting better!
Pinky + Remote Detonate rockets = dead pinky. You can hit it's weak spot from the front by shooting passed it and manually blowing up the rocket when it flares.
Another great vid, can see you put effort into this man. A couple of tips from myself for those super heavies: you can actually freeze the Doom Hunter in his full health state, then destroy his sled to make killing him way easier (and bypass his shield). And for the Marauder, pretty much what you said but also get a super shotgun, ballista then another super shotgun shot in before he recovers from being faltered, do that three times and he’s dead.
Lol yeah... The editing for this video was INTENSE. I still want to do more videos on Doom but I will take some time off tomorrow because getting the footage and editing done for this one was pretty draining.
I’ve found that you can take down a good number of whiplashes at the same time if you can line up a ballista’s 2/3 or full destroyer blade. It’ll either slice thru them cleanly, or instantly staggers them for a glory kill. Either way, makes one of the hardest enemies to hit in the game a lot easier to deal with, and damages any other demons caught in the crossfire. Charging it up does take a bit of time and you do slow down when charging it. On top of that, you can’t shoot 1/3 or 2/3 shots until you master the destroyer blade, so you have to wait for full charge if not mastered. But if you can maneuver around with jumps and dashes, this technique is extremely effective
Check out my lastest video th-cam.com/video/3CqNBcobXEQ/w-d-xo.html . I go nuts on an Archvile with all 3 grenades + turret and he goes down in seconds. If you're out of ice grenade and he's spawned enemies though, you'll be in a tight spot.
Another tip vs the prowler, a single ballista shot will put them in a stun state. Very useful when you need to regain some health. Edit: Also for the cyber mancubus, ice bomb+blood punch+ a single double barrel shot takes them out every time if you have the enemies take extra damage ability unlocked.
One of the things that I learned how to do I switch from Super Shotgun, ballista, frag grenade, super shotgun. After your first round of Super shotgun to ballista, firing your frag grenade behind the Marauder is actually very useful since you can switch back to your super shotgun, fire off a shot and let the frag grenade explode. This makes the Marauder drop his shield and opens him up to another round of fire.
One thing ive found with the pinky bros is its pretty easy to often predict where they'll end up after a charge. For example if you know ones in the area, drop two frag grendaes at your feet to your left and right, double jump up, boost away ( all while firing at something legitimately dangerous) and I've found a good 2/3rds of the time simply the massive amounts of aoe from both grenades almost ensures they either die or go into glory kill range. The amount of times ive just popped a hellknight and a couple of pinkies when they bumrush me by sticking 3 grenades in a triangle shape and then dropping both frags.. honestly its like a mini nuke, almost nothing within the triangle can survive. Its pretty effective against even Marauders.
for the Doom hunter if you use the chain gun shield on his sled, break it then lock on with the rocket launcher it will put him up for a glory kill. (great for timed encounters.)
All great tips, some that I didn't think about. Regarding the Doom Hunter - a very quick way to get him off his sled is a blood punch followed by a quick SSG. Frost grenade if you have it to eliminate risk.
The cyber mancubus is super easy: Chain hook him, super shotgun and blood punch His glory kill state will activate so fast he can’t do his dumb acid melee attack
Tips for the prowler, one bailsita shot will set it for a glory kill. Also, hitting it with the meat hook, will not allow it to teleport. Marauder is vulnerable to explosions and blast damage. He will not block grenades. However, the rocket will be blocked but if you set off the rocket with the blue signal or show up, he will be damaged. The maradur wil be cornered if its standing right next to wall and there is a ceiling over it. Dread knight will be set for a glory kill after connecting three sticky bombs to the head. (5 or 6 regular). Also, one lock on rocket barrage will kill it. Mancbus will stagger for a glory kill if both cannons are blown off by the sticky bombs and being shot with a fully charged arbalest. Also, do not set it on fire and then glory kill it. The fire will be off thinking it is already dead. You won't get the armor that you wanted from it. Also, the mancbus has two seconds gap between firing it's fireballs. You can rush and blast it with super shotgun. Also, when it's cannons are destroyed, the shots are slower and are aimed "down." whiplash's whips can track you, don't get too far from it. Connecting two sticky bombs will kill it or staggered it. Whiplash won't move down the ground if the place is small and closed on all walls. It will instead abuse the tracking whips. Carcass will die instantly if it's shield was blown up with the plasma gun while near it. Also, in most times it will trigger the shield to other enemies. It targets the shield for itself when it's the only one. Pain elemental will leave behind lost souls as traps so don't get near them. Also, it won't shoot souls at you if you're below it. Doom hunter after it loses it's sled. The doom hunter without the sled will not dash or fly around if you can get it into a place with a low ceiling. Also two blood punches and a super shotgun blast will destroy the sled, the remaining body will stagger after connecting dual lock barrage on it. Tyrant will attack you with chasing blade blast if you are standing in a area with a very small opening. It is very slow, you can falter it with chain gun and rockets.
Nice and useful video, but one more little tip about Marauder. Don't forget to use your flathrower against him. Once you interrupt his axe attack, you have time for two attaks with supershotgun or ballista, so use this short time for not only shooting but also for using flamethrower. This habbit, once you get it, may be very useful, especially if fight goes longer and longer, and you're out of health and armor already. It may sound obvious, but I've noticed on myself, that during the fight with Marauder it is very easy to forget about everything else and focus only on his and yours timings of attacks. So, the short moment after your first shot and before sekond is very easy and to teach yourself to use flamethrower. P.S. Don't judge much, if familiar advice have been noticed in video, I could skip it (coz i'm actually not native English speaker). Anyway, just remember one thing you have to do... RIP and TEAR, until it is done.
You just ice bomb the doom hunter, blood punch and super shotgun and theyre pretty much dead. Also so a reddit post where you lock on to the marauder, throw an ice granade over his shoulder when hes shielding so he turns around and fire the rockets, that pretty much kills them.
The thing that took me a while to get used to in this game is the different function of the chainsaw. In Doom 2016 it was used as an instakill, but that's the crucible in this game. It's better to use the chainsaw as much as possible because it gives you ammo back, which won't drop from regular kills now. I keep a BFG round for marauders (shotgun -> BFG) and a crucible strike for arch-viles. Other than that? I guess just don't forget your grenades/flamethrower, aim at enemies feet with the rocket launcher and so on...
A fully charged Destroyer Blade mod for the ballista will literally cut the sled right off of a doom hunter regardless of how much health they have or how charged the shield is. The marauder also has poor ups. If you need to evade them, going up is often more effective than just running away.
I had a weird Marauder fight where I just managed to chain lockon bursts about four or five times in a row, putting him in a constant stun. Don't know if I just had mad timing, hitting him perfectly after the stun animation ended before he could block them, but it definitely felt pro as hell.
Yeah i did this i was just commenting about this you gotta make him move for them to hit like shoot then dash around him to make them hit or make him chase you
Nice tips, an extra one is that the micromissiles of the heavy cannon are VERY powerful against the Khan makyr boss fight, it outperforms the un-makyr by A LOT (not more than 3 minutes to finish it)
For Whiplashes. I generally just magdump Heat Blast Pulse Rifle rounds at them, preferably while there are loads of random enemies around anyway so that the inevitable missed shots still do something. You're gonna be doing at least some chip damage at all times (these things don't get I-frames after all, and they don't dodge forever), and when they get close, you can right click to chunk them for what's basically an even easier to hit than normal super shotgun blast that'll probably put them into glory kill range by this point anyway with all the chip damage you finished doing. After that, you can refocus elsewhere, and wonder at why there are so many dead minions around you. Obviously this isn't too great an idea if there are other heavies around, but I find that even these assholes tend to not be able to keep pace with you when you go full Zoidberg, so just make some space and turn around when you can. It also gives your chainsaw and other assorted goodies time to recharge too, so feel free to poop some grenades or something while you're going.
My personal strategy with the Cyber Mancubis is to freeze them with the ice bomb and then blood punch. That way it isn’t super annoying when they slam their canons in the ground to knock you back when trying to go in for the Blood Punch 🤷♂️
Im like the only person who likes to charge up the ballista to max to slice them in half lmao it's a harder weapon to use tho and only good when it's fully upgraded for the most part atleast but you can use it like a weaker version of the bfg
Myth - you need to use the plasma gun to kill the doom hunter. If you just weapon swap ballista, rocket, super shotgun at the platform he’s on he will hit critical damage and his shield will break. It only takes 2 cycles of that weapon swap and if you hit him with 3 rockets during his animation he’ll be staggered for glory kill
I wanted to provide a viable and effective strategy that is achievable for players of various skill levels. Otherwise the "how to deal with every enemy" would be: use quickswap for super shotgun + ballista, or turret mode.
monoespacial yeah but I think it’s crucial to mention there are other methods than the plasma gun for the doom hunter. Plasma gun you have to chase him down and put yourself in harms way to just to maybe take down his shield for a split second. its easier when I play to rotate around the match and launch grandes at his platform with the combat shot gun & grenade launcher Then rocket launcher w lock on to finish him off
Some have mentioned this below but I feel it needs to be highlighted: Freeze + blood punch instantly destroys the Doomhunter's sled (except the boss ones)! Then a quick rocket burst will stagger him. I would also recommend freeze + bloodpunch + SSG to quickly take out cyber-mancubi. The freeze is not essential but they do a ton of damage up close so it's risky without it.
Another tip is that the Mancubus can actually be taken down a lot easier by freezing him (a lot easier when you’ve unlocked all freeze abilities), then using your super shotgun hook to pull in and then directly hitting his yellow beating heart. 1-2 shots (can switch to balista if fan of quick switch) and will take him down and also get some armour with flame hook mastery. With the aracnatron, instead of taking weapons out, use your super shotgun hook to pull in (slow mo in air helpful rune here) and directly hit in its face. This will cause it to stagger in which case, blood punch followed by a follow up super shotty hit will take it down. Take the hunt to him.
Doomhunter is good for ice bomb, blood punch to break the sled. Then lock on rocket to kill him. Archvile is another ice bomb candidate, straight into lock on rockets, and it might take two bursts. If you don't have an icebomb, a grenade will falter them long enough to get close and land a blood punch or two, since you'll be doing less damage than if they're frozen. Or, chaningun shield to get close and bloodpunch, or microwave beam to lock them down. Thats what I love about this game. You have options. You can get super creative about how you kill something.
A direct hit with the ballista will immediately stagger the prowler With the doom hunter you use your plasma gun to break his shield, run up and blood punch to quickly disable his sled, then use the lock on rocket launcher to basically melt him with one lock. Cyber mancubus you use a grenade to falter, blood punch, then super shot gun point blank, pretty much instant kill.
For the doom hunter, you can take him down extremely easily if you freeze him, then blood punch his turret. No shield breaking required. If his turret does happen to survive your bloodpunch (sometimes happens) just shoot it a little with any heavy weapon. A good thing to keep in mind is that once his turret gets to 0 hp he will instantly break out of the ice. If he didn't break out immediately after the bloodpunch, just keep shooting the turret until he does.
There is something else about the Marauder. You can (if you're quick enough and have REALLY good timing" perform an optimal attack on him on the interrupt like this: Ballista + SSG + Blood punch
*Yes, I'm aware of quick swapping but this is intended for everyone, not just people on PC. It's hard to do on console.*

Few more things: - The ballista can instantly get a turret off of a mancubus or a revenant and can destroy the arachnotron turret too
- Easiest way to kill the marauder is to kill everything else before you face him so there is no interruption, and you can quickly switch between the super shotgun and the ballista and get 3 hits in before his shield is up OR just stagger him and hit it with a BFG, insta kill OR shoot a BFG just above it, it will face the tendils, then you just shoot him, easy kill.

For the bfg battle lasts longer, it's because the fodder demons respawn, so they're all that's left after a bfg shot and they're annoying to find
Best advice I've seen, nice

You can off the bat target the Doom Hunter's sled, completely skips his shield mechanic.
I learned that strategy during the boss fight where you had to fight 3 of them. Just made it easier.
For me, the Doom Hunters would only drop into second phase after their shield is down, even if their sled is now the size of a cooking pane.
It doesn't really work mid air. Kinda slows you down. I find it better to use plasma and rocket launcher. They're guaranteed to kill those very soon.

What worked for me quite well with the archvile was to freezebomb him then use the chaingun with the shield mod for added protection.
If you watch the last video I did on DOOM I freeze him, double grenade + turret mode. He goes down in seconds. If you don't have your ice grenade it gets much harder.
The heavy cannon does a supprising amount of damage per shot.
You cant use it while he's stationary though, as he'll just block it
Now this is a new thing, anyone else try this???
Confirmed, lock on to him, wait for his eyes turn green and bust his ass (though you could damage yourself but worth it)
Here's some marauder tips:

2 direct hits from rockets stagger Whiplash, 1 blood punch kills Pinkies from the front, or 1 super shotgun shot from the back.
Correction: "Stagger" actually describes once an enemy has been rendered ready for a Glory Kill Finish,
The way you use it is actually describing a "Falter," Faltering a demon is when they are put into a stunned knock back animation, making them vulnerable to further attack

The Marauder is also vulnerable to sticky grenades and remote exploding rockets fired past him. Even the BFG can be used to fire above him and turn him around for a free hit on his back.

I play on ps4 and normal difficulty is enough for me. Lol
Yeah the doom hunter boughta become swiss cheese now
I’ve found that you can take down a good number of whiplashes at the same time if you can line up a ballista’s 2/3 or full destroyer blade.
Every enemy: shoot em'
Marauder: wait for a mod that removes them.
6:33 The way I've been dealing with Pain Elementals is. One Arbalest Shot, Meathook, Super Shotgun shot, dash away, and then another Arbalest Shot.
my pro tip for archvile. freeze and focus him down. turret does it very well
Check out my lastest video th-cam.com/video/3CqNBcobXEQ/w-d-xo.html . I go nuts on an Archvile with all 3 grenades + turret and he goes down in seconds. If you're out of ice grenade and he's spawned enemies though, you'll be in a tight spot.
Also don’t bother wasting time trying to one shot him with the BFG. The archvile can tank a BFG shot at point blank range.
r-j-m _lab 3 times with the lock on burst works for me
@@friedrice7876 i use chain gun but whatever works for u
Another tip vs the prowler, a single ballista shot will put them in a stun state. Very useful when you need to regain some health.
Edit:
Also for the cyber mancubus, ice bomb+blood punch+ a single double barrel shot takes them out every time if you have the enemies take extra damage ability unlocked.
The days of "Shoot it until it dies" are gone.
The best way to kill every enemy: RIP & TEAR
Most players say the Maurader is the most difficult demon to kill, but i just hate the Archville even more
The cyber mancubus is super easy:
Chain hook him, super shotgun and blood punch
His glory kill state will activate so fast he can’t do his dumb acid melee attack
That marauder fight you showed at the end is what I'm currently stuck on and I'm sure this tutorial will really help a ton!
Yeah i did this i was just commenting about this you gotta make him move for them to hit like shoot then dash around him to make them hit or make him chase you
Nice tips, an extra one is that the micromissiles of the heavy cannon are VERY powerful against the Khan makyr boss fight, it outperforms the un-makyr by A LOT (not more than 3 minutes to finish it)
Let me look here for some tips for my ultra nightmare run.
"Shoot the demons till their dead."
Very useful information. This'll be helpful. Thanks!
I always adore how the codex deals with the cyberdemon in-game which is essentially just telling you, “deal with it”
For Whiplashes.
Ok now do it on console, good luck.
I wanted to provide a viable and effective strategy that is achievable for players of various skill levels. Otherwise the "how to deal with every enemy" would be: use quickswap for super shotgun + ballista, or turret mode.
L4Disillusion quick swap is limited for consoles but you can still do it. I play with controller on my pc all the time
monoespacial yeah but I think it’s crucial to mention there are other methods than the plasma gun for the doom hunter. Plasma gun you have to chase him down and put yourself in harms way to just to maybe take down his shield for a split second. its easier when I play to rotate around the match and launch grandes at his platform with the combat shot gun & grenade launcher Then rocket launcher w lock on to finish him off
Some have mentioned this below but I feel it needs to be highlighted:
Freeze + blood punch instantly destroys the Doomhunter's sled (except the boss ones)!
You can get super creative about how you kill something.
fun fact about marauder, if you manage to shoot him in the back (IE dash behind him when his shield is down), he will stagger for much longer
A direct hit with the ballista will immediately stagger the prowler
With the doom hunter you use your plasma gun to break his shield, run up and blood punch to quickly disable his sled, then use the lock on rocket launcher to basically melt him with one lock.
I love how much the meta has changed, turret mode is practically useless and so is heat blast
There is something else about the Marauder. You can (if you're quick enough and have REALLY good timing" perform an optimal attack on him on the interrupt like this: Ballista + SSG + Blood punch
I like the shield on the chain gun, you can sit there and take on almost anything without danger
