    Those mammoth units truly bolt along that branch. Really impressive sights to behold, especially with all the swagger and noise compared to what we see here in Britain!

      Railroading in the US is certainly a very marvelous thing to behold. But I must say you guys have some wonderful pieces of railroad equipment on your side of the globe. Thank you kindly!

    Revisiting this video since I can’t get enough of the different eras of K5LA’s on NJT. Especially the late 80’s wide fonts early 90’s tagless ones. I am deprived of them being from boring Ohio 😂

      Lol you'll certainly get your fair share if you come to this state. BTW most of the Geeps shown in this film have 1994 K5LAs not Widefonts. The only exception is #4205, & #4218 with the Raised Letters and #4219 with a Sqauretag.

      @@AirchimeLTDproductions174Ahh okay I’m not surprised that most were a little bit later. You know if 4119 and 4120 had earlier ones? I know that it was built in 81 so I figured it would have a wide font or even a big bore 5 on it. But then again I know a lot of the horns got replaced.

      @@ArturoRailProductions 4119 & 4120 still wear their original 81 Largebores yes. The only units that have Widefont largebores of any kind are 4119, 4120, 4912. The Widefont Smallbores are 4901, 4905, & 4906. 4903 wears a 90 Transition era Tagless as do 4103 and 4105.

    Awesome footage with some nice horn action! Cool hornshows as well! What that clip of 6012 an older clip of when it had an Unrestricted K5LA or did they replace its K5LLA it had?

    I have an odd question why do sone trains need the locomotive on one end and a cab on the other

    • @AirchimeLTDproductions174
      @AirchimeLTDproductions174  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's for Push Pull commuter service. Many railroads find that using a cab control car on one end of the train and a locomotive for the main power, eliminates turn around time and allows for much quicker direction changes. It's much more economical for the railroad without having to use two locomotives.

      @@AirchimeLTDproductions174 oh that explains why 4204 sounds different, at least it didnt get a raised letter. also do u know if the horn that 4204 has now was on another engine by any chance?

      @@rebooted.jupiter_ Yes the 4204 has a replacement Tagless that's unrestricted. Its a very similar era to the old one with a shallow bored 4A. And it was donated to Transit.
