Welcome to Holden (Made In Canada) Productions, a mainstream railroading content producer featuring the unique day-to-day rail operations of Southern New Jersey, majorly covering the historic CNJ Southern Division & Pennsylvania Reading Seashore Lines System. I also take part in railroad air horn, steam whistle collecting, and historical record keeping of the two mentioned above. Revisiting this video since I can’t get enough of the different eras of K5LA’s on NJT. Especially the late 80’s wide fonts early 90’s tagless ones. I am deprived of them being from boring Ohio 😂
Lol you'll certainly get your fair share if you come to this state. BTW most of the Geeps shown in this film have 1994 K5LAs not Widefonts. The only exception is #4205, & #4218 with the Raised Letters and #4219 with a Sqauretag.
@@AirchimeLTDproductions174Ahh okay I’m not surprised that most were a little bit later. You know if 4119 and 4120 had earlier ones? I know that it was built in 81 so I figured it would have a wide font or even a big bore 5 on it. But then again I know a lot of the horns got replaced.
@@ArturoRailProductions 4119 & 4120 still wear their original 81 Largebores yes. The only units that have Widefont largebores of any kind are 4119, 4120, 4912. The Widefont Smallbores are 4901, 4905, & 4906. 4903 wears a 90 Transition era Tagless as do 4103 and 4105.

Is this the beesleys point secondary or the Vineland secondary

I have an odd question why do sone trains need the locomotive on one end and a cab on the other
It's for Push Pull commuter service. Many railroads find that using a cab control car on one end of the train and a locomotive for the main power, eliminates turn around time and allows for much quicker direction changes. It's much more economical for the railroad without having to use two locomotives.

That 1st catch ? The cars were from H&K (Haines & Kimblehouse, HKGX). I see those cars all the time here on Delmarva, making their way from Birdsboro, PA to Dagsboro, DE- loaded with varying sizes of stone. H&K has a mine/pit in Birdsboro, among other places. These trains are usually brought by NS power, but sometimes the empties are hauled back as far as Clayton, DE by Delmarva Central power. 🚬😎👍

How does A E Stone get their product if not by rail?
Last I heard it was trucked in but I'm not completely sure how that occurs
It's strictly commercial trucked now. SRNJ's contract with AE Stone ended in 2022 after it being so many years that SRNJ served them. The trucking industry now has the contract with AE Stone

All they did was replace the 1 bell with a 1L I think

Yeah its not completely broken, but its in a personal collection now. Same with the #4204.
@@AirchimeLTDproductions174 oh that explains why 4204 sounds different, at least it didnt get a raised letter. also do u know if the horn that 4204 has now was on another engine by any chance?
@@rebooted.jupiter_ Yes the 4204 has a replacement Tagless that's unrestricted. Its a very similar era to the old one with a shallow bored 4A. And it was donated to Transit.

I like alco M420 I used to see these run here but since I've been to Steamtown I saw a lot o C420s one question I just saw a photo of these three engines pulling a heavy haul and the only one smoking was 800 not any of the others and I kown alcos smok alot

I’m from the area, I’m just always confused on where these cars are headed. Is the consist purely interchange cars for SRNJ? Bc I only know of 3 remaining customers they serve, none of which I believe call for gondolas or sand hoppers. Unless they’re for storage at tuckahoe?
No worries, most of the stock on these trains were for CMSL to store on the Cape May Branch. The gondolas and hoppers you saw were all for Seashore Lines. Thank you for watching!

@@Signal1072 Seashore Lines interchanges at Winslow so whatever cars are run down by Shared Assets will be set off in the Bairdmore Spur right on Bairdmore Avenue, and CMSL takes the cars to Tuckahoe.

Theirs quite a few ALPs that sound like 4500 unrestricted, a large portion of the older RL don't sound half bad either. It's the newer castings post 2014 that sound like garbage

They still run, They can only go up to Winslow now cause they opted not to rent out the track for one local to interchange. Instead opting to interchange with CMSL at Winslow now
They might still run unit storage trains down there though I’m not sure unless the cars just go in CA-51
@@Poopsock14 Correct ever since mid February CSAO only interchanges with CMSL. I did say that in this video, and no unit trains run to Tuckahoe anymore likewise. This video is for the purpose of showing the last runs the CA-51 crew made to Tuckahoe as you won't see 51 running South of Winslow anymore at this point in time.
yeah, it sucks. At least we still have CA-51 and i think they still run he cars to storage on him occasionally too. he also had a dash 9 not so long ago
