Outstanding catches of the Central Railroad of New Jersey Heritage GP40PH-2 4109 Leading Metro North 61 and Erie Lackawanna Heritage ALP45 leading on 1215 & trailing on X120 as well as the other NJ Transit and Metro North trains Donny. Plus in your list Also you made a mistake in your description the train at 27:32 that’s actually train 53 I believe 55 would have had F40 4914 leading & Comet 5 Cab Car 6708 trailing if my calculations are correct
I live on Long Island and haven’t checked out NJT action for awhile. Seems like a lot of classic diesels are running around. I hadn’t seen much of the GP40FH’s and F40’s for awhile. Were they being rebuilt??
NJ Transit GP40FH's are out of service, most of them have been robbed for parts, have a dead engine, or just don't run well. Some have been sold off to AMT, and only one or two are still able to run. F40's are nearing the end of their careers, and only MTA F40PH-2CATs have been rebuilt (they were rebuilt about 8-9 years ago.) GP40PH's are not going to retire for a loooooooooooong time, and they're gonna keep running for a while. Every now and then some of them are going to have cab repaints, engine repairs, ect. To answer your question generally, there is no sign of F40PH's or GP40's being rebuilt anytime in the future.
@@MontclairBoontonLineRailfan Could you explain to me why nj transit f40s can barely pull 5 comet Vs but mbta or mta f40s are able to push 5 cars and pull another 5
Why does everyone put the 00 in front of all Port Jervis trains? It's just 53, 51, 49, etc... Also it appears you did not film 47? Great video Donny! Lots of variety and hornshows!
Thanks Mike! I originally put 00 in front when I put everything in my notes. I changed my mind when I went to edit the video, but I was too lazy to take the 00 out of everything in my notes.
NJ Transit has an operating agreement with Metro North to provide commuter service to lower Upstate New York. Metro North provides some equipment as part of the agreement.

Thanks, and you’re right! I checked my info multiple times and still missed that. I believe 55 was cancelled on this day, now that I think of it...

They were out getting PTC installed & their F40s were rebuilt back in 2011 from the 2C series to 3C series

How rare are NJT Locomotives with Metro-North cars?
Quite common in this area. There’s a shared pool of NJT and Metro North equipment on the Hoboken Division
@@jerseyshorerailproductions But why NJT uses Metro-North equipment sometimes?

No 7031 doesn't flash no more it got taken away
Rip the last piece of njt equipment that could flash its lights
Was X04 an equipment move? Also nice tripod destruction around 32 minutes in.
Yes it was.
Awesome Video, great spot to film, been here a few times myself. we should train spot together sometime
Why do some of the trains have x in their numbers?
They are deadheads
It would be nice without talking within
Yeah, I know. Tried to edit it out as best as I could
