Dunno if this is an unpopular opinion or not but a lot of people seem to not like Flurry Heart. I actually think Flurry Heart is cool as a character, possibly being an Alicorn to represent a mother daughter relationship or in general family relationships. Though I will admit the proportions to her design aren't great, I wish we got to see her adult design in the final episode and not just a stained glass window of her.
(Warning) VERY Controversial Opinion: I HATE Rainbow dash with a Burning Passion, she’s just so full of herself and most of the time, treats her friends like Crap. She also just gloats about her accomplishments and she’s just SO AGGRAVATING! Thanks for listening! 💕😊
The difference is that the rainbow designs werent even meant to be enjoyable, just for selling toys. The rest of the show is actually enjoyable on its own. I love the show and never bought a single toy
Yes!!! Pointing at the introduction of Shining Armor and Cadence, whose debut episodes literally just served to sell wedding-themed toys, Flurry Heart's introduction to sell baby-themed toys, etc.
Unpopular opinion Scooterloo, never fixing her wings was actually a good thing. I know a bunch of people do not like this, because in the world of MLP, there is so many ways that her wings could’ve been treated to make her fly and that might’ve been heartwarming. I think it is more important to the fact that in the real world, not all problems can be solved like that.. you can’t just magic all your problems and it is so heartwarming to see that she is a Pegasus but cannot do the Pegasus thing and she is still making the best out of it
I actually am glad they made her not fly. Especially when she became an adult mare in season 9. Good job show writers. You get a stamp of approval! ☺️👍🏻
I don't think your opinion is controversial. Most people that I have seen comment about Scootaloo seem to agree it's more heartwarming to disabled people because they have characters to relate to. Same reason why they kept Derpy's eye disorder, even though hers was originally an animation error. Because fans love having realistic characters with disabilities that are equally common in the real world as they are in the MLP world. Including the background characters in wheelchairs and whatnot. Or, maybe me and you just have the same opinion and i only happened to notice similar comments lol. I haven't seen complaints about her wings, unless they're just haters trying to cause online drama.
@@evangeloevoxi i could not agree more i think it is just so wholesome that the show said your disabled you're just going to have to live with it and make the best of it rather than your healed because Majic it does not work that way in real life.
I mean, Applejack already apologized, saying they should’ve listened to her. Plus, Twilight mentioned right after that it wasn’t their fault for not listening as Chrysalis manipulated everyone.
Apparently a hot take, but: Starlight Glimmer is not a Mary Sue. She is overpowered, yes, but that leads to her using her overwhelming magical power to solve her problems in not-so-healthy ways, which is a character flaw that actually affects things, automatically disqualifying her from being a Mary Sue. She is also not the main character, de facto _or_ de jure, nor has she taken victories away from the characters who actually deserved them Sparky "Plot Convenience" Sparkeroni, on the other hand... I would have preferred Sunny, Misty, Spike, Zipp, or hell, even Megan Williams coming out of nowhere and dropkicking Opaline into Mordor because that would at least be funny
I wish we could have gotten more of Pinkie’s family. Not just Maud, but the whole Rock Family It would have been interesting to see how they(minus Maud) interacted with the Mane 6 The only time I remember seeing one of the Mane 6 meet Pinkie’s full family was when AJ and her family went to their rock farm
@@DrascorTheDeath Marble is adorable, but basically Fluttershy, so we kinda know how that would go, though she could potentially have some of Flutters more outgoing side when it comes to interesting rocks instead of animals. Limestone though would be interesting.
Not sure if this is a hot take but as much as I love Crusaders of the Lost Mark, seeing the CMCs get their individual cutie marks could have been much better. We could see how it changes their dynamic when one gets their cutie marks before the others, and if they decided themselves to put their unique, individual talents towards working together as Crusaders, it could be so much more meaningful than just being a group because their cutie marks affirm it.
this is what i wish had happened :( i've always been really disappointed with their canon cutie marks, they just felt like a letdown after all the theories and hints
I feel like having them still be connected in a way without directly getting them at tye same time Would've been good Don't get me wrong, I liked how the writers did it but this would've been good too.
That's crazy to think about cuz that was 14 years ago lol ur 25 now my ass started late I started watching the show in like 2014 but ye I'm 26 so weird to think that was 10 years ago
Alright, I'll throw something of my own in-the villain tro is AMAZING. Cozy Glow, Chrysilis, and Tyrek combined are entertaining, they are cunning, and are a prime example of like what villain groups should be. They should have been on screen longer, even if Tyrek was the less likable of the three in my opinion.
YES. The moments where they showed friendship but were like “nah dont need that” were great, it portrayed them as villains who are farther gone than starlight.
I felt Lord Tirek was very watered-down in Season 9 compared to Season 4. As for Queen Chrysalis; she lost her edge after Season 6. Cozy glow was never overly-much threatening. Even King Sombra fell flat in Season 9 despite the impact of destroying the tree (I feel that the theory that Season 9 Sombra was a creation of Discord and was not the real Sombra is probably true). None of the villains really worked well as repeat villains; mostly they did their best (worst?) on their first appearance and felt rather lame upon returning. For me Season 3 King Sombra is the only true King Sombra and apart from him the best villains overall were the Sirens.
My own opinion is that the CMC are such an inspiration for other kids. To try out anything you can get your hands on and even if it can be a little bit of a risk it's finding who you are as a person
yeah, the mane 6 are supposed to be young adults, so having kid characters is nice for the kids the show is made for to place themselves in their shoes and have stories they can directly relate to. i think some people do forget this show is for kids sometimes, sure it's fine for adults to like it, but you have to remember who it's written for most of the time.
@@OzzyNe0n They're kids? While I don't believe they did all that as I watch the anime religiously. All the things they do are meant to teach other kids a lesson. There are a lot of moments when that happens.
I personally think the rainbow power designs are badass, though the large amount of hair is a bit much. Dash is the only one that pulls off the long hair.
I think the only one I didn't like was Rarity's hair. Rainbow's hair was perfect, as you said. I feel like if the creators had streamlined or polished the look for future uses, then it would have worked out pretty well
Princess cadance is my favorite princess, I think it was a brilliant idea to make the princess' of love and friendship sisters in law - because love and friendship go hand in hand! I honestly think that the very few episodes we got with Twilight and her might be some of the best in the series and I'm so sad that we didn't get more of her. :3
Literally. Princess Cadance is the best princess! She also debatably has the most talented singing voice of all the princesses I have 2 besties who love MLP as well and we want to all cosplay the princess--i've already called dibs on Cadance lol and my besties will cosplay Luna and Celestia. And to make it even better, I'm pregnant and if my little bean is a girl I might just have to add her into the cosplay as Flurry Heart 🥰
@@UnkownCensored-ys6wb I do like Cadance but it feels like the show pushes you to like her too much. With Celestia it works cus we have episodes with her that show her flaws and we get to know her on a more personal level Cadance doesn't really have flaws other than being overworked if you can even call it that. so even though I like her I just don't have the same connection as with the other characters.
Unpopular opinion? - The moral of “Lesson Zero” is one of if not The most important messages and needed to be touched on again. The main six often struggled with understanding that too twilight her seemingly small problems were big to her, and in my friendships (I learned how to communicate through MLP, and I am autistic btw) people often equate how big they thought the problem was ie, sitting in the seat I always sit in (a problem that causes me a lot of stress) and just say that it’s not a big problem because, and I quote “It’s just a seat” This still happens when my class has assigned seats. That lesson that just because a problem is small to you, doesn’t mean it’s small to your friend.
THIS! I am not exaggerating when I say that Lesson Zero legit changed my life and changed me as a person. That lesson helped me better see things from other people’s perspectives
So many people would just rather friendships end then to use the humility it requires to see a problem through someone else's eyes instead of just dismiss it.. The actual concept of empathy's lost on some people.
Honestly on rewatching it, it does seem a bit better as her actions are a consequence of how easy it is to do something like that on a large scale, and with her magical ability, is made that much easier
Yeah, like you can’t shame someone for overreacting as a young child and having that as a huuuge trauma thing Like imagine saying so someone “you’re depressed and made those mistakes just because your friend ditched you? *scoff* I could never”
@@pemanilnoob It was made easier by her ability and ease of access, though for how it affected everything, usually that sort of stuff has something more as a backstory(part of it could be excused since actions like that happen because of early memories/events growing up)
I think people make a misconception that her backstory made her evil. But I don't think so. Part of her thought she was doing the right thing with her village; I know there was another part of her that knew it was wrong but she didn't have any support group to help her see that. It wasn't until the Mane 6 took that away from her that she really targeted her hate towards Twilight and her friends. Obviously deciding to take their cutie marks against their will was really bad, though.
yeah i guess it makes sense when you realize part of starlight's character is that she overreacts and goes to extremes over really simple and petty stuff
6:28 It would be better if the Young 6 got their own spin off series. That way the writers can focus on just those characters and not have to compete with the Main 6 for episodes.
I do see Zephyr breeze and limestone having a good dynamic together BUT just as besties or really good friends. It honestly bothers me that in a show all about FRIENDSHIP the fandom always goes to shipping when noticing that two characters could work well together. They can just be good friends and nothing else!... maybe that's my aroace brain speaking but still
I totally agree. FiM’s focus on friendships as equally fulfilling relationships, was so refreshing and one of my favourite things about the show. Most media puts romantic relationships on pedestals as almost the only thing which will provide a fulfilling life. Close platonic relationships should not be overlooked, which I feel FiM has beautifully shown. Also, you don’t need to be ace, to feel that shipping is a little much sometimes, I also really don’t care for it, and would love if it wasn’t so ubiquitous as it is. I’m not saying it shouldn’t exist, but… calm down, it sometimes borders on being a little creepy how into shipping some get.
Here is my take: All Pie sisters cope with their traumatic past. Pinkie and Limestone externalize their issues, one by distracting herself, the other by work and anger. Maud and Marble seem to internalize their issues. One by becoming stone-cold, the other constant fear and extreme shyness.
@@nonsense3289 Trauma doesn't have to be shown. Pinkie's home is isolated, gray, dreary and gloom. The Pie family seems rather poor, and her parents seem to be the equivalent to ultra-orthodox families in our world. I can assure you, the children of these families have many burdens to carry.
I'm sorry. If "The CMC are bad" is an actual opinion for someone, they must be immune to cuteness. This was hearted, but silly old me just ℎ𝑎𝑑 to correct a typo.
They're more than just cute. They're relatable. There are alot of people out there that are trying to find their place in life, but don't know where to begin looking. That's what the CMC are during the first half of the show. The second half shows what they do once they find their place and how they use that to help others. Nothing bad here.
An opinion that might cause some sort of explosion, but I actually like Flurry Heart (this might have been said already). Now hear me out. I don’t like the fact there are who knows how many Alicorns now as much as the next person, but I feel like Flurry has gotten unnecessary hate from the fandom. Some have their reasons, while others just hate on her for the fun of it. It doesn’t make sense. I do want to find out what happened to her after season 9, though. How does she handle running an empire? Where did she run off to after G5 first came into play? There are so many unanswered questions that I have.
The part where she got unnecessary hate , I COMPLETLY AGREE! It would been interesting what alicorn she is. For example : Celestia is the alicorn of the Sun.
@@FeligamiAdrizoeSworaDennisFan It is also a common guess , but if we get to know her more as a grown pony, we would really have a much clear idea what type of princess she will be.
Yeah I think she’s cute and a flurry of emotions could’ve been a great set-up for an underrated dynamic between her and twilight, and also where was she in the flash forward?
Sometimes, I wish that Chrysalis was reformed so that her and Luna could've become friends and share eachothers struggles. I feel like it would not only bring Lunas character to light, but finally get her a friend whom she could relate to, being previously evil and all.
Absolutely! All of the characters in it are well written. The main 6 are all in character and each get something to do. The new characters are great. Rainbow Roadtrip doesn’t have a large scale or major conflict, but I think it’s better than the theatrical movie. Also, End of the Rainbow, is an underrated song.
Tbh scootaloo's parents should have had a better reason on why they couldn't always be there then being adventurers Maybe if it's their job to save animals from very bad situations or keep dangerous animals from rampaging into towns or cities Saving animals or saving others from animals would make sense why taking time in their work because creatures (pony or animal) lives are at stake
I'm not sure if this is controversial or not, but I really liked Lightning Dust as a rival for Rainbow Dash and I wish we got to see more of her. The Washouts were an interesting concept, but I would have liked to see her go through a redemption arc and maybe become friends with RD again.
Interestingly enough I actually really wished they redeemed Lightning Dust in the washouts episode because for a moment even in the episode Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust were cool they had a nice banter are going and I was here for it and for what I had in mind it really wouldn't have changed the episode all that much if they chose to redeem her
Unpopular opinion: G5 sucks. They could’ve looked at the adventures of Luster Dawn and her friends, or the adult CMCs, heck, even show the current lives of the future mane 6! They took the entire meaning of G4 and threw it out of the window, because Twilight decided to be stupid and take away all magic from equestria, and dividing the three pony races. I also feel like Fluttershy gets too much hate because she “learns the same lesson everytime.” Anxiety is a tough thing to get through, especially when it’s bad enough, like in Fluttershy’s case. That’s all.
They should've aimed for the age audience that originally watched G4, from the 2010s, because we're all teens (most of us), and probably would've enjoyed a future reboot.
I like the background ponies design and colour combinations better than the original characters except for lunas because her mane looks like a night sky full with stars
I remember liking the cmc especially when they got their cutiemarks, it's kinda similar to when twilight became a princess it showed that changes stick in the show and that there's continuity and since very few shows i watched at the time reference other episodes or keep big changes that happen to characters and my little pony keeping big stuff in and having them actually progress in a storyline was something that made sense to me and made me pretty happy as a result of it
Fluttershy is the best character. I know that everyone says that she gets the same lesson over and over again, but so do we in real life. I get so frustrated when I make the same mistake and with no matter how hard I try I can’t get over my anxiety Fluttershy shows just how important baby steps are, especially for someone with something like anxiety.
I agree with you. But I think some people might get mad if he did get more screen time but meh. It would be good if there was an episode where him and his girlfriend might have some trouble in there relationship and Pinki Pie will try to sort this out. It will also make the fandom care more about their relationship.
If only. It kind remind me of Flash Sentry as he could have potential if we give him some of development and not just human of him but pony of him as well instead of shrinking him to background character
@@SquishKatAt least in the case of what she did, they had less control of her outcome since it involved the world and there wasn't any exclusivity that would let them have sole knowledge of it As for reformation, it's trickier than Starlight as she still held a connection in friendship since her issue was with cutie marks and in terms of reforming Cozy, the first step would be getting her to want to or realize she wants another chance, not to mention changing the manipulative and power-centric view of friendship(the best chance would be after the stone sleep spell to have some chance to solely think, not act, and not cause problems, preferably after some time and not 1000 moons/years/months)
Here is my issue with that, the writers of the show had a season and a 1/2 to flesh out cozy glow. And maybe the head directive After Amy, Keenan Rogers left with main attraction decided against a redemption arc for cozy glow. But that is besides the point. The point I'm trying to make is the writer's had a season and a half To have a redemption episode in a show where the only to redemption arcs happened in a season and a 1/2 were starlight and Discord. Meanwhile, the fan fiction writers had anywhere from mid 2018 to just a few hours before you posting this Comment.
Twilight was right in the 2017 movie. Lots of people tend to say Twilight was awful for what she said in the movie. While I agree her saying she’d be better off without friends like them is a bit too far, she’s right about them not taking the mission seriously when all of Equestria’s suffering under The Storm King.
I kinda really wish Zecora had more screen time cause she was such an interesting character! (I've only gotten to s7 so sorry if I'm wrong) But yeah those rainbow designs are atrocious like the main 6 are a lil bit bland sometimes but the additions from those designs were just too much
I unfortunately think that some people might have found Zecora offensive. I have yet to meet such a person, but giving how stereotypical she is, I think it's a fair assumption.
I don't think Fame and Misfortune was as bad as everyone says. I think some of the critiques on the fandom were a little fair, and it has my personal favorite MLP: FIM song- "Flawless."
I don't get it I love that episode I think it's great aside from some characters acting out of character pretty much the background characters (but that happens a lot) I think everything make critique was pretty good actually I do think they could have gone a little harder on Rainbow Dash
Discord being Grogar made perfect sense when you look back AND was a good way of writing Discord out of the finale. Plus, Grogar was never that interesting to me, throughout the season I was more engaged in the trio of villains so the twist never bothered me.
Me personally I had an interesting alternative to a season final that would have reformed all three of the villains and still made Discord grogar but also at the same time made grogar actually show up What would have happened is once they take the power from Discord and they power up the Bell instead of them being able to use the bell that large weird building they were living in we find out that they were actually living inside grogars head this whole time and he comes back to life which makes everyone have to run and try and get help from Twilight and then making the Mane 6 in the villains have to work together to defeat this big bad in the last episodes
@caradiel2644 that would also have been a lot of fun, though i dont think it would have been a better ending, nor a worse one. Just a fun alternative ending
Alright, so, Cadence. As someone who does not like Cadence, I will do my best to explain (not sure if my reason for disliking her is the same as redpanda's, but here we go). Cadence feels like she was shoehorned into the show so Hasbro could sell pink alicorn toys. From a lore perspective, Cadence really muddled the lore around alicorns, because she was introduced to the show without any explanation. She was the third alicorn, after Luna and Celestia, and it was very unclear if she was supposed to be a 1000 year old immortal demigod like Luna and Celstia or if she was supposed to be just a normal pony who also had wings. The show never bothered to explore her character at all. She almost never had episodes that focused on her. We never learned her backstory, how she became an alicorn, if she was a natural-born alicorn, how old she was, etc. We never found out what her role was in Equestria before taking over the Crystal Empire (like technically she was a Princess, but what does that MEAN if she isn't ruling over anything like Celestia and Luna were?) She was underdeveloped, under-explored, and just existed to sell pink alicorn toys.
her backstory of becoming an alicorn is actually in one of the books, not even the comics but one of the chapter books, and that's so annoying how they just threw it into a book that probably not many people read instead of actually explaining it in an episode. i think that could have been an interesting episode, and yet we never get it.
I love the show, I learned English mostly because of it. But the thing I will NEVER forget, because it's still annoys me is when Twilight, a freaking princess couldn't get a taxi.. Someone pointed it out and said how MAYBE they didn't notice her wings because they were down and the guy wasn't focusing on those but come on you should know how one of your princesses looks like..
I think a season 10 would have been welcomed. I've seen old shows get revived before, so perhaps one day we may see a return to FIM when Hasbro finally realizes they didn't catch lightning in a bottle with G5. I'm one of those who actually enjoyed the return of the Samurai Jack series. Coming back to that show to finish it after so many years, kinda gave it a new coat of paint.
It just annoys me that they stopped at an u even number of season lol. Like they started in 2010 the could’ve had a season per year up till 2020. They opened the decade and they could have closed it. It just feels like such a missed opportunity
@@Tall_OrderYeah, but I think they were trying to hit a minimum number of episodes released for some reason or another. Still should have made it a full season.
Veryyyyy controversial opinion: Flashlight is actually SUCH A GOOD SHIP, LITERALLY MY FAVOURITE. I could literally list the reasons why it’s so FREAKING good. It may be cliche BUT IT IS SO CUTE, I’m a sucker for controversial ships at this point. I get flash sentry hate, but man was it that deserved? I mean, if the reason is his character development I get that, but if it’s because you’re a Twilight simp, geez man, I’m a simp for twilight and I LOVE THIS SHIP regardless.
@@wind_scratch8387, I get that the ship was kind of forced and they used a cliche, like bumping into each other which IS SO FREAKING CUTE BTW, and not to mention THE DANCE SCENE at the end of the first movie had me BLOWING UP, AND THE PONY WORLD ONE don’t even get me STARTED. I just love it so freaking much, and besides, there’s no realistic ships for Twilight (my fav character and if she doesn’t get a ship I’m freaking pissed) so having Flash Sentry exist is SO AMAZING.
I have a couple AHEM 1. Starlight should've stayed as a villain atleast until the end of season 5. That way her redemption would've been more realistic rather than "okay we forgive like you didn't do anything" 2. Sunset should've been the unofficial 7th member of the mane 6. Thats it 3. OCELLUS SHOULD'VE BEEN THE NEW RULER OF THE CHANGELINGS NEAR WHEN SEASON 9 ENDED. OR ATLEAST ACHIEVED A STATUS OF A PRINCESS HERE 4. As much as I love Pharynx in his metamorphosed glory, I think him leading the renegade changelings for a while (THEN metamorphosing if you'd like) would've been cooler. I'd love pararells between him and his brother play out even during modern times where the kingdom is under a good, yet very humble ruler 5. Absolutely maul me for this, This Day Aria is a 6/10 imo
Yes! Same. For me, I like creating "self insert" OC's, and I like to create them based on elements from the specific universe that fit me. For MLP, I ended up settling on a pegasus, partly because of the hate towards Alicorn OC's. TBF, that same disdain led me to learn how to create better characters, but still
I recently came back to watch MLP after YEARS of not watching it, I stopped around season 5 for no real reason I can remember. After finishing the series I have noticed a sentiment that the earlier seasons are way better than the later seasons but I really dont think they were ever better or worse, I enjoyed the later seasons a ton! I also think that the songs were WAAAAY better in later seasons. I particularly LOVE A Kirin Tale and Road to Friendship.
You want controversial? I think G5's bad at explaining things that need to be explained. What magical properties do the other dragons' fire have? Why was there discontinuity between MYM and TYT when they're supposed to be in the same universe? Why don't we ever go deeper into why Hitch is the only pony that understands animals? What the hay is Phyllis doing while her son is being a hopeless loser? Is Opaline still inside her tree that appears to still be there, just not purified in this continuity?
This may or not be controversial, but I think it would have been interesting if they did an episode where there's a pony who is very introverted and would rather be by him/herself than make friends. I think it could make for an interesting plot to see the Mane 6 or some other supporting characters interreact with this pony and try to get them to make friends, but instead the pony just wants to be left alone and enjoy their own interests and activities that they want to do by themself. It could make for a good story about how not everyone wants to have friends, and that some people just want to keep to themselves. I also think it would have been really cool to see a holiday special where all the families of the Mane 6 and Starlight got together for Heart's Warming. It could have made for an interesting storyline to see how the parents and siblings of Equestria's heroes interreact with each other. It could make for some funny relationship dynamics. It would be funny to see how Zephyr Breeze would interact with Rainbow Dash's parents given his huge crush on her, and it would be interesting to see what the two of them would think of Zephyr and Rainbow Dash being together as a concept. Also 7:40 UNLEASH YOUR INNER CHICKEN
I remember that in "A friend in deed" there was a thing with Cranky Doodle, who wanted to be left alone, but then it ended with him finally giving up and getting friends, because Pinkie was able to find his Matilda. Idk if that's a good message, I like Pinkie and I understand her need to make people smile and people like her, I feel bad for her. You are right, there should be episode like that, where there is a lesson to sometimes just leave somebody alone. Not everyone wants to be friends with us and that doesn't mean they are a queen chrysalis or another villian who didn't accept redemption :(
@@themagicalpeacocksedits8490 Indeed, in "A friend in deed" Pinkie essentially harasses Cranky, invades his privacy and damages/destroys his personal property. She does this until he ultimately gives up and relents to her actions because he had no real options in getting her to go away. This isn't a good message to send to young audiences, as it could give them the wrong idea about people who want to be left alone, suggesting that they have to bug them until they finally give in and become friends with them isn't a good course of action, which is what that episode felt like it was doing.
What's your first point I completely agree I think they kind of did that with "a friend in deed" but his problem was not really wanting to not have any company he just wanted specific company so I definitely think that your idea would have been a great episode
Cart Before the Pony is a GOOD episode. I thought it was a good episode but I've heard that people don't like it. I get that it's the same story three times but it's a really important story. My mother was a teacher and has had parents do their children's homework for them. Teaching kids that it's not okay for someone to do your work for you is an important lesson, even if the story is a bit repetitive.
Also, not many people know this, but I believe the episode was referencing the movie “Down and Derby”, which is basically the same plot with an added villain for the Pine Wood Derby.
But the kids didn't have the adults do the work for them. They wanted to do most of it themselves with a little help, the adults were just overbearing and wouldn't let them or listen to them. People didn't like it because it made the 3 adults stupidly out of character for the plot.
Unpopular Opinion: Surprise (beta Pinkie) should have appeared in at least one episode. She could be like Fluttershy's cousin or something, and her dynamics with the rest of the crew could be interesting to explore!
Also thought the same thing about the CMC at first. Specifically skipped episodes that focused on them. After finishing everything else, I went back and watched them, and definitely enjoyed them more. I think my problem was their episodes taking time away from the characters I already liked
Same! I hated the episodes, but when i watched the series a second time they were some of the better episodes and more fun to watch. Still like the mane 6 more, but the episodes were def. Fun
We should have gotten Cozy Glows backstory. The writers aren’t afraid of showing neglect or toxic parents, so seeing what Cozy could have gone through when she was younger would fix so much.
Opinion: Growing Up is hard to do should have ended in Ponyville so we can See AppleJacks, rainbows and raritys Reaction about their sister being grown ups.
unpopular opinion, but i think early rainbow dash is absolutely AWFUL. i think the amount of nasty behaviors she displays in, honestly just seasons 1 and 2 she chills down after that, are just way too much for her to be likeable. dragon shy is the WORST offender as an episode in that regard contrasting her being so terrible to fluttershy when the rest of the group was nothing but sweet and understanding of her fear just left such a bad taste in my mouth. even if she gets over it that episode has ruined my enjoyment of her
@@honeypots8787 I agree. Rainbow is definitely worst Mane 6. Originally, I had Pinkie Pie as worst Mane 6, but now she's been bumped up to second worst
@@KTWhatsup i luv pinkie pie, she def suffered in later seasons writing wise she got kinda worse imo tho i think that first thought process is also founded. for rainbow dash is somehow the opposite she got more reasonable as the show went on ? 😭 it's weird but hey it's ponies so
I find it strange to refer to an "overall plot" within this show. There is no overall plot. There's occasionally small arcs but the show is slice of life through-and-through. CMC episodes definitely contribute to that and actually have one of the longest overarching narratives.
Disagree. The overall plot in the beginning is the friendship lessons twilight, and later the rest of the mane six, learn and tell celestia and the audience at the end of the episode. After season 3 theres multiple things, like twilight struggling with being a princess, actual threats, the cutie map, and at the end the friendship school. Sorry but i must completely disagree
My controversial opinion is that I really enjoyed the episode “2 4 6 Great!” It’s the same way that fans claimed that only members of the military could enjoy “Newbie Dash”. It’s basically an episode about how the efforts of cheerleading, or even marching band should be respected by sports enjoyers. The line ‘ponies just get concessions when you perform’, or something like that, is a phrase we hear more often than you would think. As for Rainbow Dash’s character, I just saw it as very neurodivergent. She never had to do anything she didn’t like before (except reading Daring Do for the first time, but that was out of complete boredom). I struggle with that exact same feeling when I’m thrust into something I don’t like, especially when my interest can go towards something I enjoy. The ending even made complete sense. By putting in the time, Rainbow gained a new interest. Also, schools that have talented and well known marching bands and cheerleaders, such as Penn State, create traditions that engage the audience through the performance, and really help to hype up the players.
See, as a random stranger with an opinion, I hated that episode. My main reason being Rainbow Dash's ignorance, she was super stubborn the whole episode and still wouldn't put an effort even after some of her students, literally started crying, in that one scene. What really took RD to change was Smolder telling her that "she thought she'd be more awesome than she is being right now" and then Rainbow dash made an effort towards her coaching. Not when she was told multiple times, not when her students were upset, not even when they gave up in that emotional moment, it took someone telling her she let them down and isnt awesome, to actually get to her.
@@Elliott.theBird2024 Those are all true in terms of her character, but for this episode in particular, it was her ego that really got to me since, like I said, she didnt wanna do anything about her coaching until someone mentioned her awesomeness
Rainbow was being ignorant and unpleasant in "2, 4, 6, Great", oddly enough that's possibly the only episode where I liked Snips more than her. I did like the episode quite a lot, other than Rainbow Dash completely not giving a crap about anyone.
as a chronic pain sufferer, scoot’s wings never being treated as a real problem by anyone who wasnt bullying her actively is really neat actually, makes it feel like a chronic issue that she has no control over instead of something fixable or curable. gives people w disabilities a character to see themselves in whos really cool and competent
Huh...the more I think about it, the more I like a Zephyr x Limestone ship. Zephyr learns that working hard when you need to is important and that there can be a joy in patiently cultivating something over a long period of time. And Limestone learns that sometimes it really is okay to just relax and enjoy being alive and present in the moment. Also, the idea of them building a rock garden together and meditating with eachother is *freaking adorable.*
I think Nightmare Moon is one of the worst villains in Friendship is Magic and the only good part of the character is how the whole situation affects Luna. She was defeated quite easily and her attempts to fight the Mane 6 were pathetic. For example, ruining Steven Magnet's moustache. That's incredibly lame and would only stall the group for a few minutes at worst. Her personality wasn't interesting and her powers were unimpressive compared to most of the other villains. Still way better than the Storm King though, that dude was a joke
I can somewhat agree. Nightmare Moon is kinda a lame villain. She has an awesome design, but she has barely any screen time both on screen and in-universe. Chalk up her whole time of existence in Equestria and not counting the thousand years banished to the moon, she's only there for like a couple of hours. And her plans are rather pathetic. The Manticore was somewhat effective until Fluttershy intervene, but the scary looking trees, the sobbing serpent, the ShadowBolts (How does she even know about the Wonderbolts?!). I don't really mind her defeat though, because almost every villain gets defeated by deus ex rainbowa. It's practically a trope.
i really wish she hadn't been redeemed in episode one honestly. sure, redeem her eventually, but in her first ever appearance feels way too soon. she's hyped up as this really powerful villain but we don't get to really see it. mlp never really had a "big bad" recurring villain, most of the villains either got redeemed or otherwise written out of the show, and not all shows need to have a recurring villain, but nightmare moon would have been a great one to have. i've heard that the first episode was supposed to be multiple episodes, and it'd be an overarching story segmented into parts, and i think that would have been great, then there'd have been more time to develop twilight from going to being completely asocial to liking having friends, and more time for nightmare moon to actually do something.
Opinion (idk if it’s popular or not) : scootaloo’s parents are horrible and the fact quit their job for scootaloo to get another job in another far place?? They were away for years and only came in season 9 they basically gave their child to an aunt then acted nothing happened.
My hot takes: 1. Starlight Glimmer and Flash Sentry are overhated. 2. Flurry Heart isn’t that bad. ESPECIALLY when compared to other “cute” characters/plot devices, like Sparky. 3. The song “Danger Danger” from MLP A New Generation is a good villain song. 4. Thorax is the most adorable character in all of MLP before and after his transformation. 5. The Rainbow Power designs where actually good.
3:44 A True, True Friend is 5/10? Well then, this opinion might be even more controversial than I initially thought: A True, True Friend is better than The Smile Song. Both are great, but I think A True, True Friend has a catchier beat. Also, I really like the gradual build up in the song.
Don't worry man... the rainbow power designs are pretty bad As for my unpopular opinion, the other ponies bullied Rainbow Dash in "The Mysterious Mare Do Well." It's been years since I saw the episode but iirc, Rainbow Dash enjoys being a hero. So the other five take this personally and go out of their way to one-up her at everything until she is literally alone on a cloud crying. What's the lesson? "Lie to your friends if they brag too much and make them feel inferior"? Like sheesh, Rainbow wasn't bragging to make them feel inferior, she was just proud of herself. They bullied her for no good reason
between that episode and boast busters, it really does just seem like somebody really doesn't want people to be proud of themselves lol. sure trixie had a big ego, but the mane 6 were literally just heckling her for no reason. for all they knew her egotistical act was just a stage persona, and even if it wasn't it's literally a magic show and her stage magic is very much a different style of magic to what twilight does, so them showing up and basically say her magic isn't good enough to be that proud and that twilight is better is pretty rude. i get it's wrong to show off if you're putting other people down, but the messages in those episodes really just come across as "don't feel proud of what you do unless you want to get shown up, because someone will be better than you"
Within that sane episode, RD was so obsessed with being a hero again that she attempted to cause issues for her to fix. While what the rest of the mane 6 did was a bit much, she still very much needed a reality check.
@@Trecherousbeast Was the before or after the Mane 6 started messing with her? If it was before, then yeah, she was in the wrong I thought it was after (meaning the Mane 6 pushed her into behaving this way) but I could remember wrong. It's wrong for her to cause incidents either way, but definitely more sympathetic if she did this after being made to feel insecure
@@lindenbree9188 I can’t remember if it was either before or after the Mane 6 started messing with her, but the main issue was that RD had a dangerously high ego that could have gotten herself hurt. She could not handle most of the problems on her own and could have even become a victim in some cases. Pretty much her obsession with being a hero led her to insert herself into situations she did not have the skills to deal with. I’m not sure if they had to go through some kind of bullying route to get the point across, but the fact is regardless of how insecure she was, her behavior could have gotten herself and others hurt.
I think at some point in the episode Rainbow Dash cross the line when she's talking to a young Philly and they say they want to be like her and she says don't strive for the impossible when you being confident in yourself starts bringing others down is when you've gone too far one of the reasons why when people compare Trixie and Rainbow Dash I don't like that comparison because usually when Rainbow Dash is being confident she also brings up her friends with her with other moments where she doesn't but it's not as often as Trixie because almost every time she brings herself up she feels the need to also bring someone else down now I don't think the way the Mane 6 reacted was right
3:36 honestly when i was rewatching everything after so many years I honestly forgot that the cutie marks being switched up and twilight becoming an alicorn were in the same episode 😭
i wonder and it might be a theory. What if and i might be wrong. This is a random comment btw. What if the reason twlight sparkle lost to MLP 5 villain because it was depression? Think about it. She lost her friends. Every pony. I’m assuming. She couldn’t face the fact that her friend group deceased and that’s what caused the fall of twlight sparkle.
“Fame and Misfortune” is a Really Good Episode. It does make fun of the fandom, but they kinda deserve it. It had a great song, great humor and is EXTREMELY underrated.
@@nameynamd9212 Yeah I would have enjoyed a series focused on them, helping ponies get their marks. They could even travel around and even visit Bab Seed or bring in new CMC members. Maybe in the end they could have had Diamond Tiara join in and reform Cozy Glow. It never sat right with me turning a little filly into a statue.
Unpopular opinion: Flash Sentry x Sunset Shimmer is good. (Mostly because of that one scene from "the legend of camp everfree" and their little interactions in the background later on. I wish we've gotten more of those, also their pre-canon relationship gives Jade x Beck vibes and I'm all in for FICTIONAL toxic relationships)
There should have been an episode where the mane 6 turn evil. Not like how discord reversed them and not like th mean 6. If you've heard of "The Nightmare Mane 6" that's more what I'm getting at. An episode where the mane 6 are the bad guys and it's up to an outside force, like Celestia and Luna or the young 6, to save them and equestria. Heck, make it a 2 parter, where they win in this first half but then get defeated in part 2. Not sure if that's a controversial opinion, but I wanted to share anyway Edit: I suppose my controversial opinion is that I think an evil mane 6 would have been more interesting than the Discord 6/Mean 6 that we got
I don't see how would that happen, except for someone else making them evil (Like Discord did), but I respect this idea. There is an episode where somepony else saves equestria though and it's "To where and back again"
Honestly I think they added to many ponies who were hinted as the ones who will be like the Main 6. For example we have the CMP who are the little sisters of 3 of the main sisters, Starlight who was an apprentice to Twilight just like Twilight was to Celestia, the young 6, and then Luster, Twilight's best student And then the new generation is with an entirely new cast
I was today years old when I found out that Magical Mystery Cure allegedly has fans. I never hated the idea of Twilight being an alicorn. But that episode was not the way to do it. Equestria Girls some how did it better.
The reason i dont hate it is because the overall idea is fun and its fun to watch. Its a fun episode just a little packed with too much, making it illogical. Its just dropped there out of nowhere, which makes it confusing and not great, but i look more at the potential and less at what it actually is and then its way more fun
@ikben3983 thats strange to me because I hated it because it was boring to watch. And thats not me being a musical hater. I love musicals. But the episode is so boring that youre forced to question the logic of everything happening.
@Moonlitwatersofaqua i thought it was fun to watch. Its not logical, but if you dont pay attention to that kind of stuff its not that bad imo. But everyone has their own taste, even if its a bad one (yours isnt really bad just some others are)
My controversial opions (i think) 1. Whats wrong with « the cart before the ponies « . I know that everybody is going to kill me but i just don’t understand the hate. Because to me it just looks like an episode about how sometimes siblings can get in youre business and ruin everything. There are multiple other tv-shows with this type of episode. And sure the song was not the best but the rest was. I would just like to know whats wrong with the episode. Because i don’t know if you have siblings but i do and this had happened to me a lot. 2. Is it controversial for me to say that i don’t love appledash. Like sure they have a lot of moments together but i actually like twidash much more. I mean have you seen testing testing 1,2,3. I think that Rainbow and Twilight had way more touching moments. Twilight also helps Rainbow Dash literal read Daring Do, without Twilight Rainbow would never have been obsessed with Daring Do and we would never have had those other episodes. And Twilight makes sure that Rainbow will start to study for her test , otherwise she would never have been a Wonder Bolt. There are many more examples so i think Twilight helps Rainbow grow as a character but Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash their energy matches sure but Apple never helps Rainbow to grow as a character there just an iconic duo. And i do think in the end of the show that Twilight and Rainbow wouldn’t work because the fact that Twilight is immortal and they live so far from each other . But apart from that TWIDASH FOREVER . 3. Some people seem to hate the episode « fame and misfortune » but i don’t see why , this is actually one of my favorite episodes. Like flawless the song is one of my favorite songs in the show. And i don’t see this episode as a dunk on the fandom , i find the lesson being that if you become a youtuber or tiktokker for that matter, you need to expect hate and people to hate you for every little mistake you make. Even if you see it as a dunk on the fandom from hasbro , i think that after 7 years hasbro had the right to dunk a little bit. These were my controversial opinions , sorry if my English is bad im from Europe. I hope you can do something with my controversial opinions ❤❤❤.
Unpopular opinion: Spike and Owlicious should've both been able to talk and had like a sibling rivalry sort of thing. Im pretty sure the show pretty much forgot about Owlicious around the time Twilight became an Alicorn.
Unpopular or popular opinion: Pinkie Pie is the best character. She's silly, is friends with literally everyone and will try her best to be friends with everyone, has broken the fourth wall at the end of some episodes, literally is the reason her family smiled for the first time on screen, and has the best rainbow design and creepypastas.
Pinkie pie has always been my favourite pony. However, I liked her in earlier seasons because she wasn't just a goofy character. I felt like she really wanted to make ponies Happy. I Lost that feeling later and i feel she became the clown of the show.
I think most Mlp fanfics are better then and lot of original works. Though I'm not talking about books from super big fandoms like "Harry Potter" or The hunger games" I'm talking about that middle class, especially in the horror genre. Also "An apple sleep experiment" and "Something sweet to bite" are the most well written and interesting fanfics in the fandom and it will take a long to change my mind. "The muffin saga" is better then "Cupcakes" 💛
If we’re doing a part four I want to add mine : the outside characters of My Little Pony should have a lot more screen time. I don’t see them background it would love episode where : rose luck Octavia Derpy hooves sweetie drops Lyra vinyl scratch Dr. hooves because the main six are not really feeling well so they have to go in an adventure and save the entire town. I would think I’ll be a really good episode. 😊
Ok, very unpopular opinion but Flash x Twilight should have been a thing at least in equestria girls. The ship had so much potential and it could have expanded Flash’s character to a degree. Plus I think Flash and Twilight having some sort of study date would be a cute and funny scene to watch but that’s just me.
I think people dislike him because he has no personality. Twilight having a boyfriend could be a good idea, I just wish he had any character traits at all.
Hotter take: you have to know what makes a predictable story work before you start changing things. Ex: Over a Barrel had good satire in it, but was super neolib in how it dealt with Colonial/Native Relations, which made it a fundamentally flawed and uncomfortable episode. I feel strongly about how stories portray those issues because I've dealt with and seen what happens when they're not taken seriously.
What I'm about to say regarding the CMC's may not be "Controversial" enough to be in the next video, But I don't think the CMC's are bad characters even though some of the things that they did were bad. And I really hate to use this old excuse but they were just kids and sometimes kids do dumb and bad things without thinking about it and sometimes they're just going to get in trouble no matter what, Because as childhood shows no kid goes through life without causing trouble and getting in trouble. It's nature's way of teaching kids to grow up and learn from their mistakes. I mean I know that CMC's have done things that just can't be excused or overlooked, But still.
Opinion: i kinda hate the fact that nightmare moon has her helmet. I understand the importance of it but i just can’t get passed how it makes her look bald 😭. I also have a love for bangs on the ponies. I also love nightmare moon’s colors and overall design (minus the helmet ofc).
Ok , I have to admit. I have never really cared for Cadence to be honest. I kinda DID found her annoying. And I will explain why. I felt like her purpose in the show is just pointless. Although she had a major role in an episode where she saved the Crystal Empire , if I remember correctly. What I didn't like is that there was no backstory to her character. The only thing we know is that she used to babysit Twilight when she was a philie. And I personally didn't really like how they didn't gave us an episode HOW did Shinning Armour and Cadence met. If they did , then people ( not all ) will care more about their relationship. It will probably be one of the BEST romance episode along with that one episode where we learned about the relationship between the apples and the pears alongside with Applejack's , Applebloom and Bigmac's parents. As for the annoying part. I really didn't like her personality. I am not saying it is bad , I felt like it was too pale for me. I think if they gave her more light to her personality it would have been more interesting. You agree or disagree with me. Idk , I'm entitled to my opinion so as you. Side note: MAN! I AM EARLY TODAY!!!!!!!! WOHOOOOO!!! Btw , can you include me in you series , not forcing. It's your choice =D
For character: short story book For how Shining Armor and Cadence met: comics Though it would've been nice to explore(in the show, too), some of the reasoning might've been from those already covering it
i feel the same way, she doesn't really get a chance to have her own personality, she usually gets delegated to wife and later mother, and so much of her screentime is how she relates to other characters (twilight, shining armor, flurry heart, etc) that we never get to see her shine on her own. i don't think she's annoying, i just think she's kind of boring, which is a shame because i think she had a lot of potential. i wish her backstory had been explored in an episode rather than just shoved to the books and comics, but so many of the interesting stories do get put in the comics and not the show.
@@nameynamd9212 Oh! Thanks! But I'm not sure if the comics are cannon. Correct me about the comics. As you said , it would also be nice to see in the show and I agree. Because I think many really on what the show has instead of the other available resources'. Appreciete the reply =)
Okay, I don't know how popular this opinion is, but I think Fluttershy should have stayed with the bat look. (Or at least with some elements from that design.) I think it would diversify the appearance of the main six. It would be her upgrade, like Twilight's wings. Moreover, I think it would be great if by the end of the series everyone from the main six would somehow change a little! Not only Twi
Thanks to Eff Minus for the fun Cameo! You should go check him out. He makes some cool stuff th-cam.com/channels/KCPrMv4bCNbeNX4g14Q3Jw.html
You know that Limestone and Zephyr episode would be interesting. You should make your own fan Episode videos
I actually found his channel before yours.
MLP EDITS ARE ACTUALLY REALLY REALLY WELL MADE
"The rainbow designs were made to sell toys"
isn't the entirety of the MLP franchise made to sell toys
The difference is that the rainbow designs werent even meant to be enjoyable, just for selling toys. The rest of the show is actually enjoyable on its own. I love the show and never bought a single toy
Yes!!! Pointing at the introduction of Shining Armor and Cadence, whose debut episodes literally just served to sell wedding-themed toys, Flurry Heart's introduction to sell baby-themed toys, etc.
If the whole show was ment to sell toys wouldn't it be ass since no thought would be put into it
@@Just_andresmlp was originally a toy series, the whole point is to sell toys. it just so happened that the cartoons blew up (especially G4)
they were made to sell toys but i’m yet to see a rainbow dash toy that has all her colours😭😭😭
I just think it would’ve been neat cause they’d probably sound like bug wings flapping quickly
I thought she was supposed to be disabled. So like yeah, it’s good they kept one of their few disabled character disabled.
Celestia, twilight friends/mane 6, and shining armour should have gave a better apology to twilight after the wedding
Dude, for real!!

She is also not the main character, de facto _or_ de jure, nor has she taken victories away from the characters who actually deserved them
Sparky "Plot Convenience" Sparkeroni, on the other hand...
I would have preferred Sunny, Misty, Spike, Zipp, or hell, even Megan Williams coming out of nowhere and dropkicking Opaline into Mordor because that would at least be funny
I want to know who thinks Starlight is a Mary Sue
I agree with this comment

It would have been interesting to see how they(minus Maud) interacted with the Mane 6
The only time I remember seeing one of the Mane 6 meet Pinkie’s full family was when AJ and her family went to their rock farm

Marble is adorable, but basically Fluttershy, so we kinda know how that would go, though she could potentially have some of Flutters more outgoing side when it comes to interesting rocks instead of animals.
Limestone though would be interesting.

Not sure if this is a hot take but as much as I love Crusaders of the Lost Mark, seeing the CMCs get their individual cutie marks could have been much better.
We could see how it changes their dynamic when one gets their cutie marks before the others, and if they decided themselves to put their unique, individual talents towards working together as Crusaders, it could be so much more meaningful than just being a group because their cutie marks affirm it.
this
this is what i wish had happened :( i've always been really disappointed with their canon cutie marks, they just felt like a letdown after all the theories and hints
I feel like having them still be connected in a way without directly getting them at tye same time
Would've been good
Don't get me wrong, I liked how the writers did it but this would've been good too.
I mean I see what you mean but we already got an episode about this
Hmm. Fair point.
As someone who watched from the beginning, and was 11 at the time, i really enjoy the CMC and wanted to be one
I have to agree. The fact that it is in elementery school it suited their personalities since they are still kids.
I did too. You are right.
Same 😩
That's crazy to think about cuz that was 14 years ago lol ur 25 now my ass started late I started watching the show in like 2014 but ye I'm 26 so weird to think that was 10 years ago
I agree
Agreed. They definitely had a cool dynamic!
YES. The moments where they showed friendship but were like “nah dont need that” were great, it portrayed them as villains who are farther gone than starlight.
They carried season 9.
I agree what a good opinion!
yeah, the mane 6 are supposed to be young adults, so having kid characters is nice for the kids the show is made for to place themselves in their shoes and have stories they can directly relate to.
i think some people do forget this show is for kids sometimes, sure it's fine for adults to like it, but you have to remember who it's written for most of the time.
@@jasperjazzie Exactly right
Yeah, because lying, and committing theft, sabotage, libel, and *drugging*, among other things, is such a great inspiration for youngsters. /s
I feel like if the creators had streamlined or polished the look for future uses, then it would have worked out pretty well
SSJ3 Mane 6 LOL
Princess cadance is my favorite princess, I think it was a brilliant idea to make the princess' of love and friendship sisters in law - because love and friendship go hand in hand! I honestly think that the very few episodes we got with Twilight and her might be some of the best in the series and I'm so sad that we didn't get more of her. :3
I may not be a fan of Cadence but I do love how she and Twilight are sister in law. Just wish they both got a proper interaction =(
Luna is best. Sorry. However, I like Cadance too and do think we should have seen a lot more of her.
Literally. Princess Cadance is the best princess! She also debatably has the most talented singing voice of all the princesses
I have 2 besties who love MLP as well and we want to all cosplay the princess--i've already called dibs on Cadance lol and my besties will cosplay Luna and Celestia. And to make it even better, I'm pregnant and if my little bean is a girl I might just have to add her into the cosplay as Flurry Heart 🥰
@@lizzabee_18 that is beyond adorable
Starlight's backstory wasn't bad, it fits her character specially in season 6
Honestly on rewatching it, it does seem a bit better as her actions are a consequence of how easy it is to do something like that on a large scale, and with her magical ability, is made that much easier
Yeah, like you can’t shame someone for overreacting as a young child and having that as a huuuge trauma thing
Like imagine saying so someone “you’re depressed and made those mistakes just because your friend ditched you?
I love the young 6, they have so much potential.
That probably would have worked out fine. Darn, why must everything always be clearer in hindsight?
in my opinion i don't really like the young six, I'm just so used to the mane six.
@@weeeeeeeeeeeee5 Well, of course the Mane 6 are better. Of course.
Not that I hate the Young 6, though.
I do see Zephyr breeze and limestone having a good dynamic together BUT just as besties or really good friends. It honestly bothers me that in a show all about FRIENDSHIP the fandom always goes to shipping when noticing that two characters could work well together. They can just be good friends and nothing else!... maybe that's my aroace brain speaking but still
heteroplatonic yay!!!!!!
@@sebastianegypt1238You speak the truth. The show is called "Friendship is Magic" not "Romance is Magic".
Eh not really. I feel like Limestone would be annoyed by Zeph more than any pony else.
Here is my take:
All Pie sisters cope with their traumatic past.
Pinkie and Limestone externalize their issues, one by distracting herself, the other by work and anger.
Maud and Marble seem to internalize their issues. One by becoming stone-cold, the other constant fear and extreme shyness.
okay wait. what trauma??
im confused.
I don't remember them going through anything really traumatic?
@@nonsense3289 Trauma doesn't have to be shown.
Pinkie's home is isolated, gray, dreary and gloom. The Pie family seems rather poor, and her parents seem to be the equivalent to ultra-orthodox families in our world.
I can assure you, the children of these families have many burdens to carry.
I'm sorry. If "The CMC are bad" is an actual opinion for someone, they must be immune to cuteness.
This was hearted, but silly old me just ℎ𝑎𝑑 to correct a typo.

Lol true
They're adorable yeah, but I was never really a fan of them
Yep
They're more than just cute. They're relatable. There are alot of people out there that are trying to find their place in life, but don't know where to begin looking. That's what the CMC are during the first half of the show. The second half shows what they do once they find their place and how they use that to help others. Nothing bad here.
I wish we couldve had a 10th season or at least a special to see what happend to Twillights student, Luster Dawn.
Yes😊
@@UnkownCensored-ys6wbMaybe Flurry would be the princess of Hope or light as in seeing the good in others? That’s my best guest.
@@JRAUSports Yeah !! She was pictured on one of the stained-glass windows. :D
Sometimes, I wish that Chrysalis was reformed so that her and Luna could've become friends and share eachothers struggles. I feel like it would not only bring Lunas character to light, but finally get her a friend whom she could relate to, being previously evil and all.
I honestly like the sound of this idea! ☺️👍🏻
omg that ales sense, she also should've become freinds with starlight in my opinion tbh
Rainbow Roadtrip is criminally underrated. Everyone thinks it's just okay. But it deserves way more attention than it gets. Am I right or am I right?
You're AWESOME right!
Finally someone says it! Its a fun adventure while also returning into the movie artstyle which is beautiful!
Absolutely! All of the characters in it are well written. The main 6 are all in character and each get something to do. The new characters are great. Rainbow Roadtrip doesn’t have a large scale or major conflict, but I think it’s better than the theatrical movie.
Also, End of the Rainbow, is an underrated song.
I LOVE RAINBOW ROAD TRIP!
You are right. Kerfuffle is the best.
Tbh scootaloo's parents should have had a better reason on why they couldn't always be there then being adventurers
Maybe if it's their job to save animals from very bad situations or keep dangerous animals from rampaging into towns or cities
Saving animals or saving others from animals would make sense why taking time in their work because creatures (pony or animal) lives are at stake
I'm not sure if this is controversial or not, but I really liked Lightning Dust as a rival for Rainbow Dash and I wish we got to see more of her. The Washouts were an interesting concept, but I would have liked to see her go through a redemption arc and maybe become friends with RD again.
Interestingly enough I actually really wished they redeemed Lightning Dust in the washouts episode because for a moment even in the episode Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust were cool they had a nice banter are going and I was here for it and for what I had in mind it really wouldn't have changed the episode all that much if they chose to redeem her
Kinda hard to become friends with someone who almost killed your other friends and didn’t even feel guilt
That’s all.
i wouldn't call this totally unpopular, i agree and i think a lot of people do.
EXTREMELY populare opinion... AGREED
We could have atleast seen flurryheart! Or the student six
IKR G5 SUCKS
They should've aimed for the age audience that originally watched G4, from the 2010s, because we're all teens (most of us), and probably would've enjoyed a future reboot.
I like the background ponies design and colour combinations better than the original characters except for lunas because her mane looks like a night sky full with stars
I remember liking the cmc especially when they got their cutiemarks, it's kinda similar to when twilight became a princess it showed that changes stick in the show and that there's continuity and since very few shows i watched at the time reference other episodes or keep big changes that happen to characters and my little pony keeping big stuff in and having them actually progress in a storyline was something that made sense to me and made me pretty happy as a result of it
You ended up saying a controversial opinion: "A True True Friend is a 5/10"
A true true friend is such a good song but I might be hella nostalgic lmao
It should have been 2 parts
@@destinypansullo3975 what?
Fluttershy is the best character. I know that everyone says that she gets the same lesson over and over again, but so do we in real life. I get so frustrated when I make the same mistake and with no matter how hard I try I can’t get over my anxiety Fluttershy shows just how important baby steps are, especially for someone with something like anxiety.
I love flutter
Fluttershy is my favorite pony! 😊
Unpopular opinion,Mudbriar had a lot of potential and could be one of my favorites characters if he had more episodes

He also should’ve been voiced by Sheldon

Discord's redemption was rushed and half baked; and he truly never stopped being mean and petty to other people even after he was reformed.
Well he DOES cease to exist if he doesn't do chaotic things
But to each their own

Cozy Glow should’ve gotten a redemption arc! Seriously when Fimfiction writers are more talented than official mlp writers, it’s bad
AGREED!
Ah, Fimfiction, the place that eats the remaining hours of my life away.
She should never have been a villain to begin with.
@@SquishKatAt least in the case of what she did, they had less control of her outcome since it involved the world and there wasn't any exclusivity that would let them have sole knowledge of it
As for reformation, it's trickier than Starlight as she still held a connection in friendship since her issue was with cutie marks and in terms of reforming Cozy, the first step would be getting her to want to or realize she wants another chance, not to mention changing the manipulative and power-centric view of friendship(the best chance would be after the stone sleep spell to have some chance to solely think, not act, and not cause problems, preferably after some time and not 1000 moons/years/months)
I definitely think in that situation there was both sides that were wrong
I kinda really wish Zecora had more screen time cause she was such an interesting character! (I've only gotten to s7 so sorry if I'm wrong)
But yeah those rainbow designs are atrocious like the main 6 are a lil bit bland sometimes but the additions from those designs were just too much
I actually like Twilight, Pinkie and AJ. Rainbow is fine, it's just Rarity and Fluttershy that bug me.
I unfortunately think that some people might have found Zecora offensive. I have yet to meet such a person, but giving how stereotypical she is, I think it's a fair assumption.
Zecora definitely deserved more screen time
I don't have any particularly strong feelings about Zecora, but listening to her talk is very fun.
Lullaby for a Princess should be CANON.
Absolutely
I don't think Fame and Misfortune was as bad as everyone says. I think some of the critiques on the fandom were a little fair, and it has my personal favorite MLP: FIM song- "Flawless."
I don't get it I love that episode I think it's great aside from some characters acting out of character pretty much the background characters (but that happens a lot) I think everything make critique was pretty good actually I do think they could have gone a little harder on Rainbow Dash
Yeah. The episode had its flaws but you’ll notice the people who complain the loudest about that episode were the ones it was calling out.
Discord being Grogar made perfect sense when you look back AND was a good way of writing Discord out of the finale. Plus, Grogar was never that interesting to me, throughout the season I was more engaged in the trio of villains so the twist never bothered me.
Me personally I had an interesting alternative to a season final that would have reformed all three of the villains and still made Discord grogar but also at the same time made grogar actually show up
What would have happened is once they take the power from Discord and they power up the Bell instead of them being able to use the bell that large weird building they were living in we find out that they were actually living inside grogars head this whole time and he comes back to life which makes everyone have to run and try and get help from Twilight and then making the Mane 6 in the villains have to work together to defeat this big bad in the last episodes
We never found out what her role was in Equestria before taking over the Crystal Empire (like technically she was a Princess, but what does that MEAN if she isn't ruling over anything like Celestia and Luna were?)
She was underdeveloped, under-explored, and just existed to sell pink alicorn toys.
her backstory of becoming an alicorn is actually in one of the books, not even the comics but one of the chapter books, and that's so annoying how they just threw it into a book that probably not many people read instead of actually explaining it in an episode. i think that could have been an interesting episode, and yet we never get it.
@@jasperjazzie yes, but the comics have no canon realationship with the show, Its like equestria girls, its just not canon.
Yeah, even though I've never seen it myself, I've heard enough about G5 to know about its quick downward spiral.
It just annoys me that they stopped at an u even number of season lol. Like they started in 2010 the could’ve had a season per year up till 2020. They opened the decade and they could have closed it. It just feels like such a missed opportunity
@@basstt5615 True, and it's also annoying season 3 had half the episodes of all the other seasons.

Please elaborate. I don't really have an opinion on the ship but I want to hear yours😅. 😊
Honestly I don’t think Flashlight is bad. It’s pretty cute honestly.

I don't really get into any of the "shipping" stuff myself, but darn if that ain't great wordplay. Literally a 🔦.
I have a couple
AHEM
1. Starlight should've stayed as a villain atleast until the end of season 5. That way her redemption would've been more realistic rather than "okay we forgive like you didn't do anything"
2. Sunset should've been the unofficial 7th member of the mane 6. Thats it
3. OCELLUS SHOULD'VE BEEN THE NEW RULER OF THE CHANGELINGS NEAR WHEN SEASON 9 ENDED. OR ATLEAST ACHIEVED A STATUS OF A PRINCESS HERE
4. As much as I love Pharynx in his metamorphosed glory, I think him leading the renegade changelings for a while (THEN metamorphosing if you'd like) would've been cooler. I'd love pararells between him and his brother play out even during modern times where the kingdom is under a good, yet very humble ruler
5. Absolutely maul me for this, This Day Aria is a 6/10 imo
Countess coloratura should've been in the my little pony movie instead of sia

Snails is actually really nice, though I feel like they both actually improved as characters in season nine.

Unpopulair opinion, I don't care if people make alicorn ocs.
Yes!
Is Opaline still inside her tree that appears to still be there, just not purified in this continuity?
i wouldn't call this too unpopular, i totally agree and i know many others who do as well.
Yea thats probs one of the most popular opinions
I actually liked twilight and flash century together and was really surprised when I found out how many people hated it
Predictable stories can work. It's more about how they reach the ending rather than the ending itself.
That would have been awesome.
Didn't her name and design get repurposed into being one of the Wonderbolts?

Hot take: The spectacle is the best song
Agreed! Better song than 'I am just a Pony'
unpopular opinion, but i think early rainbow dash is absolutely AWFUL. i think the amount of nasty behaviors she displays in, honestly just seasons 1 and 2 she chills down after that, are just way too much for her to be likeable. dragon shy is the WORST offender as an episode in that regard contrasting her being so terrible to fluttershy when the rest of the group was nothing but sweet and understanding of her fear just left such a bad taste in my mouth. even if she gets over it that episode has ruined my enjoyment of her

@@Elliott.theBird2024 I respect your opinions too. I honestly had no opinion either way on Chrysalis, but she's beginning to grow on me.
My controversial opinion is that I really enjoyed the episode “2 4 6 Great!”
It’s the same way that fans claimed that only members of the military could enjoy “Newbie Dash”.
Unpopular, opinion. But I actually like the Equestria Girls movies especially rainbow rocks though I can understand why people don’t like them
I think Nightmare Moon is one of the worst villains in Friendship is Magic and the only good part of the character is how the whole situation affects Luna.
@@KTWhatsup for the defeat, it still felt like much less of a struggle than against Sombra, Discord, Tirek, Chrysalis both times or Starlight
i really wish she hadn't been redeemed in episode one honestly. sure, redeem her eventually, but in her first ever appearance feels way too soon. she's hyped up as this really powerful villain but we don't get to really see it.
mlp never really had a "big bad" recurring villain, most of the villains either got redeemed or otherwise written out of the show, and not all shows need to have a recurring villain, but nightmare moon would have been a great one to have.
i've heard that the first episode was supposed to be multiple episodes, and it'd be an overarching story segmented into parts, and i think that would have been great, then there'd have been more time to develop twilight from going to being completely asocial to liking having friends, and more time for nightmare moon to actually do something.
I agree, but I don't mind it too much since it was in the pilots of mlp.
@@YusikaKiaya I'm sure she would have been better if we saw her later. The show was trying to find its footing back then and still had to improve.
Opinion (idk if it’s popular or not) : scootaloo’s parents are horrible and the fact quit their job for scootaloo to get another job in another far place??
They were away for years and only came in season 9 they basically gave their child to an aunt then acted nothing happened.
My hot takes:
Well then, this opinion might be even more controversial than I initially thought:
A True, True Friend is better than The Smile Song.
Both are great, but I think A True, True Friend has a catchier beat. Also, I really like the gradual build up in the song.
Don't worry man... the rainbow power designs are pretty bad
As for my unpopular opinion, the other ponies bullied Rainbow Dash in "The Mysterious Mare Do Well." It's been years since I saw the episode but iirc, Rainbow Dash enjoys being a hero.
If it was before, then yeah, she was in the wrong
I thought it was after (meaning the Mane 6 pushed her into behaving this way) but I could remember wrong.
Unpopular opinions:
-I really liked MYM Chapter 2 - prob my fav next to Chapter 5!
-I don’t like Misty’s new mane color.
Oh thank you Misty new mane color is horrible all the mares manes are pink I hate it g4 did have pink in SOME manes SOME manes not all the mares manes
i wonder and it might be a theory.
I like AJ, and Fluttershy's rainbow power designs the most. The others do look like a bit much. Especially Twilight's wings look disproportionate.
“Fame and Misfortune” is a Really Good Episode. It does make fun of the fandom, but they kinda deserve it. It had a great song, great humor and is EXTREMELY underrated.
CMC being bad is definitely not a popular opinion anywhere I've been. I would have preferred a CMC spinoff series, opposed to G5.
It at least sounded interesting as something before the time skip(the CMC storybook series at least made it out as such)
@@nameynamd9212 Yeah I would have enjoyed a series focused on them, helping ponies get their marks. They could even travel around and even visit Bab Seed or bring in new CMC members. Maybe in the end they could have had Diamond Tiara join in and reform Cozy Glow. It never sat right with me turning a little filly into a statue.
Unpopular opinion:
Flash Sentry x Sunset Shimmer is good.
Not sure if that's a controversial opinion, but I wanted to share anyway
Edit: I suppose my controversial opinion is that I think an evil mane 6 would have been more interesting than the Discord 6/Mean 6 that we got
I don't see how would that happen, except for someone else making them evil (Like Discord did), but I respect this idea. There is an episode where somepony else saves equestria though and it's "To where and back again"
I don't think your opinion is contreversial but good idea of an epesoide you want =)
Honestly I think they added to many ponies who were hinted as the ones who will be like the Main 6. For example we have the CMP who are the little sisters of 3 of the main sisters, Starlight who was an apprentice to Twilight just like Twilight was to Celestia, the young 6, and then Luster, Twilight's best student
And then the new generation is with an entirely new cast
I was today years old when I found out that Magical Mystery Cure allegedly has fans. I never hated the idea of Twilight being an alicorn. But that episode was not the way to do it. Equestria Girls some how did it better.
Two parts could've set things better, but it supposedly was the original end point
Yeah um i might be one of the fans.
But everyone has their own taste, even if its a bad one (yours isnt really bad just some others are)
CMC are my favorite characters in MLP. They remind me when I was younger and I didn’t know what my purpose was. They’re also adorable and funny.
My controversial opions (i think)
So happy to have made it in this time! Starlight is still best! :3
Starlight is a pretty cool pony :)
She is truelly an icon
@@Elliott.theBird2024 I can understand but thanks for respecting my opinion!
Pinkie pie has always been my favourite pony. However, I liked her in earlier seasons because she wasn't just a goofy character. I felt like she really wanted to make ponies Happy. I Lost that feeling later and i feel she became the clown of the show.
I loved her as a kid and still do. she always brightens my day :)) she's funny and genuinely cares abt her friends
@@Icun1
Rly? I felt like she matured as the show went along but yeah sometimes she was less sweet and more sarcastic
Made to sell toys is a weird complaint...the whole show has that in mind!
Glad thar i was not the only one who thought that zipp's hair looks like toothpaste
I thought it was the toothpaste I use. I won't be surprised if there was a meme about it.
She is toothpaste
Have we really forgotten about Colgate here? C'mon guys...
There on tons of fanfics that are just astonishing pieces of literature in general.
😊
I like the Rainbow Power designs! They're like mega evolutions. The base evolutions look cool, and the mega evolutions look cooler.
8:14 I THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY HAHA every time I see Zip I kept saying that in my head too, her mane DOES look like toothpaste
Zip?? What about Opaline? Her mane is literally tooth paste..
Unpopular opinion: starlight Sunset and Trixie are equally the best character like I love their stories 😭
I find Trixie annoying a lot of the time
@@caradiel2644 I respect your opinion
@@Nicloeisslayqueen thanks don't get me wrong I like their Dynamics sometimes it's just I couldn't hang out with her
Ok, very unpopular opinion but Flash x Twilight should have been a thing at least in equestria girls.
@@hearmeout1767 witch is why if the ship was canon, that could give him the personality he needed instead of a typical love interest for Twilight
Eh, Flash is kinda bland. Honestly, there are some fanfics that give him more character and unique personality.
I like gen 5 I know it's not the best or as good as gen 4 but for me it gives me joy it's just fun to watch episodes that are slice of life
Hotter take: you have to know what makes a predictable story work before you start changing things.
Ex: Over a Barrel had good satire in it, but was super neolib in how it dealt with Colonial/Native Relations, which made it a fundamentally flawed and uncomfortable episode. I feel strongly about how stories portray those issues because I've dealt with and seen what happens when they're not taken seriously.
liberals...
I can see Tree Hugger and Zephyr Breeze as somehow working out as a couple.
It's your choice =D
and how did she become an alicorn too?!?!?
For character: short story book
For how Shining Armor and Cadence met: comics
Though it would've been nice to explore(in the show, too), some of the reasoning might've been from those already covering it
i feel the same way, she doesn't really get a chance to have her own personality, she usually gets delegated to wife and later mother, and so much of her screentime is how she relates to other characters (twilight, shining armor, flurry heart, etc) that we never get to see her shine on her own.
i don't think she's annoying, i just think she's kind of boring, which is a shame because i think she had a lot of potential. i wish her backstory had been explored in an episode rather than just shoved to the books and comics, but so many of the interesting stories do get put in the comics and not the show.
@@peanutfrogy9087 Exactly!!!! We only have a little info about her
@@nameynamd9212 Oh!
(Or at least with some elements from that design.)
I think it would diversify the appearance of the main six. It would be her upgrade, like Twilight's wings.
Moreover, I think it would be great if by the end of the series everyone from the main six would somehow change a little! Not only Twi
Unpopular opinion applebloom is probably the most normal and smart one
