    As the owner of 'Black Pearl', I will say that these risers make the sitting position of the Rebel much more comfortable, and definitely instills confidence while riding. A great investment for any new rider.

    I'm looking for somebody to make a cable kit extension for the CMX1100DCT, so I can throw some 16" apes on my bike.
    My old bike had apes and it was the most comfortable riding position I've ever had.
    The stock bars (even mine with 4" risers) make your back and shoulders hurt after a while.

    You can just Barely get that brake line to work, without rerouting it. You can also bend the hard bits a bit to get a little extra. Better to reroute as shown, but not 100% needed.

    Another great video and always more "complicated" when the customer is stood watching you. I don't really understand the "bar riser" installation. Is it just for comfort and how likely is this risk to hitting the tank?

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mario is a friend, so not a big deal having him around lol. The riser brings the bars to a more comfortable position. I like the bar option better. Yet for the cost of the risers… they do an excellent job helping your back (more straight up)
      As for hitting you tank. It increases the distance from factory. So that’s no issue.

    i would like to do that to my 2019 rebel. i am not changing mirrors, so do you have to remove the brake lever? and all you did was slide the resevoir from front position to under the bar and reattach to handlebar? looks simple enough, but me being a DA don't want to lose brakes or break the line. i'll have to watch this half a dozen times just to make sure i understand. thank you.

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To fit it past the forks you do need to take the mirror and the lever off. Both are extremely easy to do. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to comment them.
      By doing it this way you do not open the brake lines, so no need to flush the system.

      That’s the wires for the brake switch. They just pull off… you can get a small flat blade screw driver at a 90 degree to the pin/terminal and twist the blade to help in pulling the pin out (not normally required). Let me know if that helps.

They asked me to look into the extension for the brake cable and I've been hunting around on the internet all weekend until I came across your (excellent) video this evening. The only other problem I now have is to mount the speedometer to the raised handlebar because the standard clips don't fit with the Rox risers (so I've also been looking for an adapter to mount the gauge to the handlebars). I really wanted the 3" pivot risers cause I need the shorter reach. Thanks again. You have been a great help!

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@declanali7147 may be possible to use the oem top clamps for the base. You could then use the fasteners to keep the guage in the oem position… the gauge is held by two fasteners and a plastic clip (to the bar)
      I will check tomorrow if this in fact will work. I don’t have the risers you have but I can check if the fasteners will hold by themselves (no bar in place)
      Again thanks for the kind words. I will let you know my findings tomorrow.

    I have run into a snag- in removing the speedometer to get it out of the way, I had to unclip the male/female connector - the one with many tiny wires coming into it. It was really hard to unclip, and in doing so I split one of the tiny wires. Then...... to be able to repair/tape the broken wire, I need more clearance, that is, I need to pull the big wire attached to the two clips. Is it safe to REMOVE ALL THE WRAPPING TAPE that holds 3 other wires with the speedometer one?? Thank you

    Hey Slight. just purchased a set of 1 inch risers. watched the video oh,5-6 times now. is moving the break res a must or would it be ok to work with current configuration? and moving the res and doing what you did, the break handle removal and then putting it back, does it need any adjustment or just reattachment my brake , and lights will work. i have seen videos where they didn't change brake res, and no problems. HELP!

    I wish I would have seen this video before installing risers that I bought from Amazon without any real explanation. I had a family member installed them and everything seemed fine until I decided a few days later to take it for a ride (I had just bought a 2020 new to me Honda rebel 500 and wanted the bars a little bit closer to me) no sooner had I gone on to one of the main streets the bars moved and drop down causing me to lose control of the bike and going down. I am new to learning about the mechanics of a motorcycle. I am fine I just have a badly bruised leg from bouncing off the passenger page on the left side and a pretty good skin scrape but other than that I consider myself pretty lucky I wasn’t on a busy busy throwaway. I’d like to know what does knurling mean?

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glad to hear you’re ok.
      Knurled is when the bar has a cross hatch section… acts like an added grip to the clamp. If you have the oem bar you will notice under the bar it’s not smooth.
      As for your bar moving. That sounds like the clamps were not tight. (I try to have the torque spec for most fasteners as this is important and can limit possible issues like the one you’ve explained.
      Again extremely happy your ok. Get back out there and enjoy the ride. Thank you for watching and your comment.

I didn’t see or hear you mention them. I’m wondering if that’s what went wrong with my install?

    • @SLIGHT_

      @@themotorcyclemaiden9162 no these did not come with any inserts. From what it looks like, the inserts possibly was 3m tape to protect paint. Not sure as it was hard to see. You shouldn’t need a “spacer” nor would I trust those risers if it had some plastic piece to fill the gap. They should fit without that.
      The issue I feel you had was the bar was not torqued. Top clamps I mean. So they loosened off. Again it’s hard to be 100% as I did not install them, yet that would make sense.

      The riser and bars move together? Or the bar moves inside the riser mount?
