It's a real shame because many people, like me, can barely afford a PS5 - let alone a huge 4K TV as well. All Sony cares about is money at the end of the day but thinking about it, they would have a larger income if they enabled 1440p support as many people are holding off on buying a PS5 as it lacks this feature.
It boils down to the fact that Sony makes TVs and not monitors. They want people to go buy their TVs. Xbox doesn't have a dog in the fight when it comes to monitors, so it only benefits them to enable 1440p on Xbox. It's the corporate game man 🤦🏾♂️
I very liked your opinion thanks for making video man. My intention is that i will buy ps5 on November because it my birthday so i would very satisfied and full of joy if sony support 2k monitor because i just have 2k monitor. So liked you said I think it probably already already in ps5 and sony wait for a perfect time to release it and it would make me happy if they add it in the end of year or early 2023. If they do that I will definitely buy playstation products in long term.
I incorporated my ps5 into my pc gaming setup along with the switch. I have 3 1440p 144hz monitors and I just really don't wanna buy a tv nor do I have room for one in my setup. I prefer gaming at my desk then on a couch lmao.
That’s cool that you prefer gaming at a desk vs a couch, yea w a setup like that (sounds great btw) this must be really annoying, I have two 1080 monitors & one 1440p which is my gaming one & it’s just annoying I can’t get the best out of it w the ps5 :/
@@tipexx7052 i have a 1440p monitor too, sometimes it looks a bit blurry, because i bought It in 2018, so it does not accept the 4k signal and don't downscale. Instead, the console Just outputs 1080p, so it doesn't look near close to what i expected

It’s just so stupid to me that Sony won’t do it or hasn’t yet, I have an LG 1440p monitor, forget the model but it’s been great for the new consoles. :)
Yeah, I have one of those Asus monitors and I'm glad that it can force 1440p, however, when it is doing that I can not enable HDR. So basically I'm stuck with 1080p with HDR or 1440p (which is really 4k downscaled) but no HDR. They need to just allow 1440p support.
Wait. What TV or monitor are you using? PS5 let's you choose 4K and 120 fps if your TV or monitor allows it. I'm not bragging but the LG OLED C1 allows this plus has support built in specifically for Nvidia and AMD mostly for PC. I leave 4K and 120 fps options turned on, on my PS5 although it's worthless. Games can't push towards this limit on PS5.Sony lied to us BIG TIME. We seriously need to push for a class action lawsuit against them.
i dont really think its about selling their TVs since most people buy LG OLEDs anyways, ah well what do i know i just hope theg add that update or else il just switch to xbox, 1440p with a cheap gamepass is too tempting a deal
Xbox is definitely tempting if you haven’t been into them before, there’s also fps boost w some older games if you get a Series X, even tho I think they’ve stopped doing that for some reason it’s still worth it imo.
The number of steam users that game at 1440p is about 4%. Do you think Sony looks at those numbers decides that catering to an even smaller demand is worth their effort? How much money do you think they lose by not doing this? Zero. PS5s are flying off the shelf to this day and will continue to do so for the next few years. I have a 1440p monitor and a PS5 and it sucks that they don't do this, but I can understand why they don't give a shit. Besides, there are a bunch of 1440p monitors that accept a 4k signal. If they don't upgrade by the end of the year, I'll sell this one and get one that works with PS5. Problem solved.
Ah that's a good point actually. I hadn't seen the stats. 4% is shocking. However, Using that logic What percentage of gamers on steam are running 4k?
