Commenting on the ResetERA forums in a thread discussing the disappointing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PS5 Pro update, a developer going by the name of Koralsky commented on the poor image quality produced by PSSR in certain titles, revealing that the difference in image quality between different games is caused by the different versions of the upscaler used. In regard to the latest entry in the Respawn series, the developer confirmed the game is using SDK 9, being an Unreal Engine 4 game, so the team couldn't implement the latest up-to-date version of the upscaler that requires SDK 10 or higher, and has possibly used the very first version, hence the bad image quality.

Gran Turismo 7 runs absolutely stunning and the patch hasn't even been released yet. In terms of a completely unbiased view because I have a gaming PC the base PS5 and the new Pro, I can honestly recommend the upgrade.

The devs shouldn't have released pro updates that looked like Jedi Survivor/Silent Hill 2. Did they not look at the image before release. I agree PSSR will improve but I'm concerned that devs won't continue to update their old versions of PSSR which may leave certain games looking much worse forever on the system. PS I thought PSSR update is just a quick drop in of the updated code like with DLSS and FSR. Why is it taking so long to fix these games. It's been a week.
Getting my PS5 pro on the 27th going to use the disc drive and stand from my PS5 slim on the pro then sell my PS5 slim to a buddy of mine he is cool with it not having a disc drive and he buying it for $300.

Everybody needs to calm the hell down. Every piece of hardware, console, PC or software has its issues. Most of rhe games dont have theses issues. The AI will only get better. Also, how many years and how many games have come out that haven't been properly optimsed by a developer. This has always been the case with some games and always will be and that's not going to change in the future.

The ps5 pro is a con job. This entire console performance hinges on Pssr. Which itself is seemingly limited by sub 1080p resolution. When most ue 5 games end up on current gen consoles. The gpu is also not powerful enough to push more features like RT and double the framerate. When even the cpu is only 10% higher when the gpu is downclocked. You end up with a 4k 30 Alan wake 2 with RT settings lower than the PC lowest settings!😬
Notice how u went to alan wake 2 but didn't point out f1 24 spiderman 2 ratchet and clank dragons dogma 2. Uve been hating on playstation every chance u get
All future consoles are going to lean heavily on upscaling ai solutions. They can't afford to just keep throwing transistors at these things as they get diminishing returns. PC gaming leans heavily on dlss. Work smarter not harder. The next xbox is going to lean heavily on ai. Get used to it.
@philbosh03 I used Alan wake 2 because it is a ps5 enhanced title. That was advertised by Sony and uses pssr. You advertised 2 to 3 times RT performance and get upscaled 4k 30 with rt settings lower than the pc lowest settings with performance issues. Bruh, that's an L! "The bottom line here is that on PS5 Pro, Dragon's Dogma 2 runs better than it ever has on the base PS5, and you get to customise your graphical settings to suit your needs. But at the same time, performance is still far from perfect, and PSSR throws up some dodgy image-related issues." Push Square Dragons dogma is still not 60fps locked, ff7 rebirth upgrade looks even more pronounced thats great. But its like that because Square used like fsr 1.0 upscale on rebirth going to pssr from that will be huge. But besides that no huge jump. Even f1 24 was native 4k, 1800p. The ps5 pro takes it down to 1080p native to add RT and upscale to around 4k. That's not a crazy upgrade. Sony should have done more!

A 4090 costs more than the PS 5 Pro, should not be compared in any way shape or form.
People that purchased a ps5 pro want attention so badly . They post it online like a badge of honor . Sorry to say its mid . Id wait to the ps6 to upgrade , i prolly will wait like 2 years after launch .
Gettin my new 2000 euro pc to replace the old one from last year ...240 fps guarantee..
@@Thenoob3336 that's nice don't really care though 😊
Everyone that leaves a negative comment on ps5 pro has never played on one and if they have, they are in denial of not wanting it over their base console anymore.
you sound like a simp

There’s another in-depth video talking about FSR and PSSR by Daniel Owen
Everybody needs to calm the hell down. Every piece of hardware, console, PC or software has its issues.
Most of rhe games dont have theses issues. The AI will only get better. Also, how many years and how many games have come out that haven't been properly optimsed by a developer.
This has always been the case with some games and always will be and that's not going to change in the future.
Console has been about for about 2 weeks and everyone expects it to be perfect…. Give it a bit of time damn..
I think the real joke is paying 700$ for more power and still having to wait on devs to utilize that power on older games ,"The PS5 pro....just wait" 😂
its been out 1 week lol. Keep cope alive bro
@DeeBatch come on brotha you know I got you there lol, go play RD2 at 60 fps .... Oh wait 😂
The pro has graphics not possible on any Xbox and 60 percent of people pcs
😂
😂😂😂😂 60% of pc LMFAO 🛑

How many times can you repeat the same information over and over? Sounds like a high schooler writing his essay the night before lol
Ps2 is #1
Pssr 2.0 will rival dlss 3.8
Dee Batch: This will be the most advance tech on the market mon. The pssr mon, there’s nothing like it !
Tech Guys : Pssr is really bad
Dee Batch: The Tools mon ! they aren’t utilizing the tooolllllssss 😂
you really are slow eh. Did xbox series x have issue at launch? it did and people were wondering why ps5 games were running better. 4 years later problems are fixed on series x. however ps5 games still running better on the weaker ps5 lol
@ you a believer in sony who hasn’t delivered since early ps4 😂… sony don’t make technological leaps. wake up
@ i have a pro…. it’s what the ps5 was pose to be at launch
@ ps5 runs better ? what happen with warhammer ?
Uve been hating on playstation every chance u get
Final Fantasy 🔥🔥🔥
You wish😂😂😂 That 600 dollar Xbox was the biggest. Let's be real now
All future consoles are going to lean heavily on upscaling ai solutions.
But at the same time, performance is still far from perfect, and PSSR throws up some dodgy image-related issues." Push Square
Dragons dogma is still not 60fps locked, ff7 rebirth upgrade looks even more pronounced thats great.
You are wrong about how ai works...
I love my pro I am so happy I sold my og ps5 😊it's a new console give it time let's not forget all the issues ps5 had at launch 😊😊
Yawn....1 update....for these "old games" they'll fix it...then Ver 2 will have them making up stuff.
Ok stop just stop these videos..its not the issues the console is having its the DEVS FROM THE GAMES THAT MAKE PATCHES or dont make them.
"it is normal"?
All that capping you did on X for nothing.😂😂
huh? lol bro console been out 1 week come back after 6 month. you will be crying as it whips your fav box.
@DeeBatch nah bro I'm on PC, the only one who's making excuses for Sony is you. All that crap you talk that about ps5 pro being like a "4070" and is not even close to that. Keep capping my boy.🤣🤣🤣
I'm not in love my pro ff7 rebirth has graphics on the pro not possible on any Xbox
So I guess it will be more powerful than next xbox. That comes out, we'll see, I doubt that
