    Nice review... Explained all new features and not always around the old or existing features like others...

    What an awesome review man. I love the Corolla. I drive a 2013 Corolla S, and I'm very happy with it. I'm hoping in a couple of years to be able to get this as a CPO car.

      @SkiLLy125  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is correct. They have done quite a lot. Especially since the 2013 gen. It seems like a completely different car! I do recommend driving a new gen if you get the opportunity. It is incredible.

    Very high quality review. The LED above the headlights is not a DRL, it is a "LED headlight eye brow" meaning it only comes on when the headlights are on.

    The SE has the same headlights, led lights and grill. If you add the premium package to the SE, it adds the moonroof, upgraded Etunes Plus system with Scout GPS and Smart Key (push to start). The only features that the XSE has that the SE doesn't have is leather seats which are heated & power, heated steering wheel, and Etunes premium with navigation. Both include the same 1.8 4-cylinder engine with CVT.

    Love my '17 Corolla SE. One step below this one. Still have the machined 17's. The only thing that I don't have is the push-button start. I think that everything else is the same. I kind of miss my stick shifting. CVT in sport mode does the job, I guess.

    Love the Corolla. Only issue i have with the SE/XSE model is the rough ride, though I love the look of the wheels.
    Besides full leather seating and a moon roof, are there any other differences between the SE and XSE? No dealer near me has a XSE in stock so I'm wondering what I'd miss out on if i get a SE.

      I am sorry I never saw this message! They did not add any sound deadening materials from the previous generation of Corolla from the best of my knowledge. Hope this is helpful for you!

    I bought a white SE in March. It was a financial thing for me. No more $600/month payment. Leased the CVT SE. Got to say it's a very nice car for the money. Now, to be fair, I'm a enthusiast and have owned cars that are. U h better. Auto Critics complain about the CVT, and yes, it's very non sporting even in "sport mode". The SE does everything well and nothing great. We plan on purchasing this after the lease is up for our now 15 year old daughter. She has practiced in it a few times and likes it. I've been averaging right over 35 MPG in mostly highway driving. Wish the gas tank was bigger. Got the sunroof and XM package for a bit more fun.
    Looked at the iM but that leased worse. The Mazda 3 was the same way. Kia Forte was close but horrible resale. Couldn't find a 6spd Elantra Sport at the time. Overall does it good

    lol i have a 2004 corolla S that hasn't let me down and I use cruise control all the time. I really want to upgrade to a highlander, but the fuel economy has me spoiled, I think I might just upgrade to this model, its pretty sick, especially compared to mines haha.

    • @SkiLLy125
      @SkiLLy125  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh they are quite incredible no? Also there is a lot of new tech going into the 2017 Model Highlanders that I will be highlighting hopefully soon. However you cannot go wrong with a Corolla if you do not need the added space or AWD of a Highlander.

    extreme excessive road noise. an audio shop just told me they have had to install dynamat in 2 new corollas because of excessive road noise. I had to dampen my 2017 corolla with dynamat too.

  • @TheJKJunkie

    The rims look nice but after taking a 2017 for a test drive with them I soon realized that if you are committed to the 17 inch rims there is no room for tires with a higher side wall, consequently hitting a pothole with 45 series tires in this car sounded like I threw a barbell onto a marble floor. The center clock is totally antiquated and the engine at higher rpms sounds like a pop can full of rusty nails.

    • @SkiLLy125
      @SkiLLy125  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Special Edition Corolla will have the following changes from the XSE: Different Rims, Leather Trim instead of full leather, Black Cherry accents on the dash and door trim and 50th anniversary badging around the vehicle.

      Ya that is a hard decision to make! I obviously fall on the Toyota side however also sell Honda's. The Safety Sense alone is worth the investment into the Toyota in my opinion. But the choice is yours. Let me know if you need any help. Here is an article I found from consumer reports however : www.autoblog.com/2016/10/24/consumer-reports-no-longer-recommends-honda-civic/

      I would just go on a forum for Corolla's and ask the question. Unfortunately I cannot experience the noise or issues you are having in the vehicle and do not know a bunch about the service side of things. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

    for a high-end Toyota Corolla they should at least put a 2.0 liter engine with maybe a 210 horsepower

    • @SkiLLy125
      @SkiLLy125  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that could be something for the future. Maybe a turbo model? That would be nice too.

    • @bradhaughton6698
      @bradhaughton6698 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      They also need to add remote start the fact that they have push button start, not all there models don't even have this feature but their competitors are making it almost standard

    • @SkiLLy125
      @SkiLLy125  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree and believe at some point they will have that be a standard option. However the remote start is available however is usually dealer installed to save some money for the folks that will not use it and would rather save the $$.

  • @kevinabraham2029
    @kevinabraham2029 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm still between this and the Honda Civic. One thing I really think the Civic leads the Corolla is fuel efficiency (Civic Turbo: 32/42 and Corolla is only: 28/35). Also the Civic has a quieter ride and more refined cabin with better materials, in my opinion. Corolla Pros: It has an engine that is proven to last a long time and Toyota Safety Sense is standard. Still so confused.

    • @SkiLLy125
      @SkiLLy125  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are very legitimate questions to ask. The one thing I would like to bring to your attention is an article I read from Consumer Reports. www.autoblog.com/2016/10/24/consumer-reports-no-longer-recommends-honda-civic/

    • @kevinabraham2029
      @kevinabraham2029 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheToyotaPro ohh that does make a point for the Corolla. Still unsure though because the Corolla scored marginally in the small overlap crash test :/. Do you know if Toyota made structural improvements?

    • @SkiLLy125
      @SkiLLy125  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There were some slight tweeks that came from the design changes. Not sure how those will effect the tests though. I do not have the data for the crash tests on the 2017's yet. However the Pre-Collision System will at lease help lessen the impact / stop it if possible. Which will make a huge difference if the Honda you are looking at does not have that option.

    • @kevinabraham2029
      @kevinabraham2029 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wanted to like the latest generation Corolla, but the stance of the car is skinny & weak looking, the styling queues are just off in the front, and that eyesore cheap stained-metal muffler sticking out from the rear viewing angles is just tacky tacky tacky. You also need the TRD lowering springs installed just to bring the car down to a normal (non-crossover looking) wheel gap. Strangely enough, I actually found the Yaris SE hatch a LOT more to my liking.

      I believe Toyota and Honda are amazing brands side by side. I have the opportunity of working for them both with my current company. However Honda actually started with Mr. Honda trying to make a Piston that was at a high enough quality for Toyota. It took a long time for them to actually approve his design and have it meet Toyota's specifications. However after a natural disaster took out his factory he started producing the Motorized bikes that shaped the Honda brand. Honda and Toyota started as a friendly business agreement and later on became competitors. I love both brands however am very partial to the Toyota side :)
